Mrs. Helen E. Flory, 89, of Greenville, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, September 1, 2009 at 8:55 PM at Koester Pavilion in Troy, Ohio. She was born on July 18, 1920 in New Madison, Ohio to the late Orlando and Ola (Michael) Shumaker.
Helen worked at Hobart Manufacturing Company in Greenville and was a member of the Bible Fellowship Church. She was also the owner of Flory’s Necchi Sewing Center.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by; husband, LaVern Flory whom she married on September 17, 1937; sisters, Crescent Welbaum and Fern Shumaker; brothers, Orville Shumaker, Merrill Shumaker and Paul Shumaker; great great granddaughter, Gracie Kessler.
She is survived by; daughters and son in law, Patricia Bankson of Piqua, Ohio and Connie and Ronald Holsapple of Greenville, Ohio; 6 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 8 great great grandchildren; sister in law, Audrey Flory of Greenville, Ohio as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
There will be a service held on Friday, September 4, 2009 at 1:00 PM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio with Pastor Rob Kensinger officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery, Ft. Jefferson, Ohio. Family will receive friends on Thursday, September 3, 2009 from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
