Hilda E. Larger, age 89 of Russia, Ohio, passed away on Friday May 21, 2010, at 8:25 PM at the Versailles Health Care Center. Hilda was born July 24, 1920 in Russia, Ohio the daughter of the late Emmanuel & Elizabeth (Francis) Goubeaux. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Remy Catholic Church; she was formerly active with St. Ann’s Sodality of the church. Hilda for years has enjoyed making rosaries for the First Communion Classes. She continued making rosaries even after she lost her eye sight.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Elmer H. Larger who died August 24, 1994, whom she married November 30, 1940; Sister: Rose Ann Goubeaux; Brother: Donald Goubeaux.
She is survived by her five sons & daughters in law: Edward & Rachel Larger of Versailles, Anthony Larger of Montpelier, Elmer & Janice Larger Jr. of Fort Loramie, Joseph & Mary Larger of Russia, Ernest & Deborah Larger of Westerville; Daughters & sons in law: Rosemary & Michael Stegall of Greenville, Jean & Craig Freeman of Indianapolis, Indiana, Carol & Greg Barhorst of St. Patricks; 23 grandchildren; 43 great grandchildren; Brother: Francis Goubeaux of Russia; Sister: Mary Friesthler of Russia.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday May 26, 2010 at 10:30 AM at St. Remy Catholic Church 108 West Main Street, Russia, Ohio with Rev. Fr. Frank Amberger & Rev. Fr. Eugene F. Vonderhaar Co-celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Remy Church Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 3:00 to 8:00 PM on Tuesday May 25, 2010 and from 9:00 to 10:00 AM on Wednesday at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home, Versailles, Ohio. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Shelby County.
