Mrs. E. Lena Nestor, age 82 of Union City, Ohio passed away at 10:30 P.M. Tuesday July 27, 2010 at the Rest Haven Nursing Home of Greenville, Ohio. Lena was born May 13, 1928 in Parsons (Tucker County) West Virginia. She was the daughter of the late Arch & Lena Gay (Shaffer) Knotts.
Lena had formerly worked at Three Gables Restaurant of Union City. She enjoyed her gardening and playing solitaire.
She is survived by her husband Ira B. Nestor of Union City. They were married May 25, 1946. Also by her sons and daughters in law—Jerry Brown & Cheryl Nestor and Donnie Ray & Diane Nestor all of Greenville. Grandchildren and spouses—Scott (Kelly) Nestor, Michelle (Tony) Mikesell and Sara (Kyle) Tegtmeyer: Great grandchildren—Xavier Tegtmeyer, Hudson Nestor, Danielle Nestor, Katy Nestor, Lydia Mikesell, Myra Mikesell and Kala Mikesell; brother Vinton Shaffer of New Madison, Ohio; sisters—Rosie Detling, Alta Kaugher, and Brenda DeFord all of Greenville as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday July 30, 2010 in the Zechar Bailey Funeral Home Greenville, Ohio with the Rev. Elwood Stuart officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenville Township Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends on Friday from 1 P.M. until time of the services in the funeral home.
