Donald E. Voisard (December 1, 2010)

Donald E. Voisard age 74 of Covington, Ohio, passed away at 12:14 A.M. on Wednesday, December 1, 2010 at Covington Care Center. Donald was born February 27, 1936 in Russia, Ohio, to the late Venitious and Magdalene (Sherman) Voisard.

Donald retired from Hobart Corporation in 1997 with nearly 38 years of service. Donald was a member of St. Denis Catholic Church in Versailles; Covington Eagles Aerie 3998; Hobart Quarter Century Club; and life member of Piqua Fish and Game. Donald was a past member of the Knights of Columbus; Shelby County Coon Hunters; and the National Rifle Association. Donald served in the U.S. Army Reserves from 1957 to 1958 where he received an Honorable Discharge. Donald coon hunted with his father and friends for 45 years, and also fox and deer hunted for years. He also liked fishing, mushroom hunting and nearly all sports.

In addition to his parents, Donald is also preceded in death by a grandchild, Ceddrick Reck.

Donald was previously married to Mary Jo (Said) Schimmel of Covington. Donald is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Michele Moody of Covington, Renee and Alexander Reck of Covington and Melissa and Doug Dilley of Covington; grandchildren, Tyler Moody, Olivia Moody, Mason Dilley, Jacob Dilley, Warrick Reck, Ellery Reck, Nigella Reck, Mazelle Reck and Alexandria (Reck) Feight; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jerold and Laura Mae Voisard of Sidney and Kenneth and Mary Jo Voisard of Russia; sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and August Cordonnier Jr., of Russia; and numerous aunts, nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, December 4, 2010 at St. Denis Catholic Church in Versailles with Rev. Fr. David Vincent celebrant. Burial will follow in Miami Memorial Park in Covington. The family will receive friends on Friday from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. and Saturday morning from 9:00 to 10:00 A.M. at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home in Versailles. Memorial contributions may be made to Covington Rescue Squad.
