Wilma Jean Ward (January 8, 2011)

Wilma Jean Ward, age 87, formerly of Versailles, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, January 8, 2011 at 9:25 AM at the Versailles Health Care Center, Versailles, Ohio. She was born on June 16, 1923 in Preble County, Ohio, to the late Wilbur Ware & Marie (Suggs) Campbell.

Wilma worked as an assistant librarian at Worch Memorial Public Library in Versailles, Ohio, retiring on December 30, 1987 after working there for 14 years. Prior to that she worked at the New Madison Public Library for 4 and half years.

She was a member of the Versailles Christian Church and the New Madison Grange.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, William Harold Ward; brothers, Don and Dale Campbell; brother in law, Charles Flora.

She is survived by her daughters and sons in law, Colleen & Ted Loxley of Versailles, Ohio and Linda & Gary Brewer of Greenville, Ohio; son and daughter in law, Duane E. “Dewey” & Deb Ward of Versailles, Ohio; grandchildren, Donna (Chris) Tebbe, Todd (Amber) Loxley, Deborah (Brent) Strobel, Melissa (Edward) Staudt, Scott (Kim) Ward, and Megan Ward; step grandson, Matt (Shelley) Brewer; great grandchildren, Austin & Cole Tebbe, Hannah & Naomi Loxley, Brooke, Bryce, & Derek Strobel, Eddie, Campbell, & Avery Staudt, Zachary & Lydia Ward; step great grandchildren, Heidi & Luke Brewer; brother and sister in law, Richard & Jean Campbell of West Alexander, Ohio; sisters and brother in law, Sue Flora of Eaton, Ohio and Mary Lou & George Lehmann of Corbin, Kentucky; sister in law, Wanda Campbell of Eaton, Ohio; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

There will be a service held on Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville with Rev. Dr. Kim Katterheinrich officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenmound Cemetery, New Madison, Ohio. Family will receive friends on Monday, January 10, 2011 from 4-8 PM at the funeral home.

It is the wishes of the family that memorial contributions be given the Versailles Life Squad, State of the Heart Hospice, or Versailles Health Care Center.
