Edith E. Brandt (May 6, 2011)

Edith E. Brandt age 94 of Brock, Ohio. Our mother’s body is no longer on this land we love so much. Her last breath was on Friday, May 6, 2011 at 6:42. P.M. at Wayne Health Care (Greenville Hospital) as her family gathered at her bedside. You could hear laughter, see faces full of sorrow and hear stories of years filled with precious memories. The sweet stories were told of a grandmothers love that had no boundaries-no self concern. Our mouths watered as we talked about the wonderful food she always fed us whether it be at breakfast, a lunch taken out into the fields under a hot sun or a feast at every holiday. Edith was born July 20, 1916 to the late Edward & Sophie (Deubner) Border.

She was the late Arthur Brandt’s wife and what a proud wife she was! She wrote and typed his speeches for all of dad’s events. She was president of various clubs and organizations. She sang in the choir. She was outgoing-she loved people! She had passion for gardening, jewelry, clothes and “stuff”. She hung her windows with chimes, butterflies and flower stick-ons. She collected Gone with the Wind items, elephants and filled her home with whimsy.
