Mary M. Hamilton (April 26, 2012)

Mary M. Hamilton, 95, of Greenville, passed away Thursday evening, April 26, 2012 at the Rest Haven Nursing Home in Greenville.

She was born May 17, 1916 in Miami County, daughter of the late Josiah and Minnie Belle (Waitman) Eikenberry. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, George "Ray" Hamilton on May 28, 1984; 7 brothers and 3 sisters.

A homemaker, Mary had attended the Lighthouse Christian Center in Greenville.

She is survived by her children, Robert (Treva) Hamilton of Versailles, Jim (Thelma) Hamilton of Greenville, and Joan (Roger) Weaver of Greenville; grandchildren, Mark (Tammy) Hamilton, Michael (Karen) Hamilton, Melissa (Andrew) Market, Teresa Fellers, Ted (Tina) Weaver, Kay Goubeaux, and Rodney (Melissa) Weaver; great grandchildren, Collin, Noah, Stephanie, Daniel, Benjamin, Thomas, Timothy, T.J., Cameron, Raliegh, Cadence, Gabriel, Corie and Isabella; great great grandchildren, Caleb and Ryan; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, May 1 at the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville with Pastor's Eric Knight and Steve Short co-officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenville Township Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 6-8 p.m. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to State of the Heart Hospice.

Phyllis Jean Mumford (April 25, 2012)

Phyllis Jean Mumford, age 66, of Greenville, Ohio and formerly of Dayton, Ohio, passed away at 12:09 P.M. on Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. Phyllis was born January 22, 1946 in Dayton, Ohio, to the late Kenneth & Mary (Williams) Webb.

Phyllis is survived by her daughters & sons-in-law, Christine Mumford & Larry of Belle Center, Ohio, Michelle & Fred McDaniel of Dayton, Ohio, Cheryl & Les Sigmond of Greenville, Ohio and Nicole Mumford of Russells Point, Ohio; grandchildren, Alexis McDaniel, Mason McDaniel and Jenna Mumford; sisters, Eileen Marshall of Houston, Texas and Lois Beyer of Anchorage, Alaska; and a niece, Vicki White of Houston, Texas.

In addition to her parents, Phyllis is also preceded in death by her ex-husband, Robert C. Mumford Jr.

Phyllis graduated from Patterson Co-Op of Dayton. Phyllis retired from Clayton Sunoco where she was the store manager. Phyllis also formerly worked at McCall’s in Dayton. Phyllis was a member of the Greenville Moose Lodge.

A memorial service will be held at 5:00 P.M. on Monday, April 30, 2012 at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville with Rev. Elwood Stuart officiating. Bill D. Williams (April 25, 2012)

Bill D. Williams age 87, of Greenville, Ohio, & formerly of Lancaster, Ohio, passed away at 1:11 A.M. on Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at Wayne HealthCare in Greenville, Ohio. Bill was born September 30, 1924 in Piqua, Ohio, to the late Charles & Margaret (Alexander) Williams.

Bill is survived by his wife, Dorothy M. (Warner) Williams whom he married January 24, 2004; sons, Scott and Pat; step children, Linda Suter, Keith Bellor, Kent Markham; grandchildren, Laura Specht and husband, Andrew, Nick Williams, Melissa Williams and husband, Matthew, Bryan Williams, Peter Williams and Andrew Williams; great granddaughter, Bella Kay Specht; and step grandchildren, Matthew Suter, Jennifer Suter, Cody Markham, Karly Markham and Kaden Markham.

In addition to his parents, Bill is also preceded in death by his 1st wife, Jean C. (Longendelpher) Williams on August 27, 2002; son, Daniel Williams; daughter-in-law, Janet Williams; and a grandson, Benjamin.

Bill was a 1942 graduate of Piqua Central High School. He attended Miami University. Bill served in the 8th Air Force in WWII as a Radar Bombardier on B17’s in England. Bill was Vice President and Sales Manager of Drew Shoe Company in Lancaster, Ohio, from 1950 to 1985 with 35 years of service. Bill was part owner of Fashion Shoe Store in Greenville, Ohio, in the 1950’s. Bill was active in the Chamber of Commerce in Greenville, Ohio, in the 1950’s and the United Way in Greenville and Lancaster. Bill was Past Elder of the First Presbyterian Church of Greenville, Ohio, and very active in the Presbyterian Church of Lancaster, Ohio. Bill was Past President of the Shoe Travelers of Ohio. Bill was an avid golfer and active member of both Greenville and Lancaster Country Clubs.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, April 28, 2012 at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville with Rev. Dr. John Person officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery in Covington, Ohio. The family will receive friends on Friday from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Mollie M. Hardy age 89, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away at 9:08 P.M. on Monday, April 23, 2012 at Reid Hospital in Richmond, Indiana. Mollie was born September 27, 1922 in Knox County, Kentucky, to the late Lincoln & Rebecca (Powers) Sears.

Mollie is survived by her sons & daughter-in-law, Daniel Hardy of New Madison, Albert Jr. & Lorena Hardy of Salem, West Virginia and John Fred Hardy of Union City, Ohio; step sons, Virgil Hardy of Danville, Kentucky and Billy Dean Hardy of Greenville; step daughter, Vivian Smith of Greenville; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and a special thanks to grandson, James Clarence Hardy.

In addition to her parents, Mollie is also preceded in death by her husband, Albert L. Hardy Sr.; son, David Lynn Hardy; daughter, Alberta Rake; step son, Edward Hardy; brothers, Lester, Jim & Fred Sears; and a sister, Cora Hembery.

Cora was a homemaker. She was a member of East Zion Church, Greenville.

June A. Bailey, age 74, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, April 22, 2012 at 10:42 PM at Wayne HealthCare in Greenville, Ohio. She was born on July 5, 1937 in Germantown, Ohio, to the late Benjamin E. & Rosalie M. (Smith) Goubeaux.

She is survived by her sons and daughter in law, Randy J. Bailey of Englewood, Ohio, and Tim & Teresa Bailey of Dayton, Ohio; daughter, Monica K. Bailey of Richmond, Indiana; 9 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren; brother, Gerald “Jerry” Goubeaux of Bradford, Ohio; sister in law, Mary Ellen Goubeaux of Arcanum, Ohio; sisters and brother in law, Betty Cohee of Covington, Ohio, and Wilma L. “Boots” & Duane “Buster” Davidson of Greenville; special friend, Gerald Reed of Maryville, Tennessee; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

June is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Lori R. Bailey; sisters, Beverly J. Sturgill and Helen “Pat” Mullinax; brother, Harold E. Goubeaux.

June was a school bus driver for Greenville City Schools for 22 ½ years. She really enjoyed her kids on her bus as well as her pets.

David S. Weitemier (April 22, 2012)

David S. Weitemier, age 63 of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 7:16 P.M. Sunday April 22, 2012 at Wayne Healthcare Center Greenville, Ohio. David was born April 25, 2012 in Greenville Ohio and son of the late Ruth Weitemier.

He retired in 1998 from General Motors of Dayton, Ohio where he had been employed for 30 years.

Dave was a member of the Greenville Moose Lodge, White Springs Golf Course and the Greenville V.F.W.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Dale Weitemier.

Dave is survived by his wife Brenda F. (Lamp) Weitemier of Greenville. They were married November 19, 1983. Also by a son Ron Tinkham of Greenville; granddaughter Ashlee Bales and brother Ronald Weitemier.

Private Funeral Services will be held at the convenience of the family. There will be no public visitation.

P. Irene Marker, age 91 of Greenville, Ohio passed away on Sunday April 22, 2012 at 12:00 AM at the Brethren Retirement Community, Greenville, Ohio. She was born June 17, 1920 in Darke County, Ohio the daughter of the late Ezra & Mary (Blinn) Bowman. She was a homemaker & mother; she also was a bookkeeper for her husbands business.

She was a member of the Eastern Star; she was an avid fisherman & mushroom hunter; she loved her grandkids & great grandkids; she loved mowing grass and traveling and seeing new places.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband: J.B. Marker in 1978; son: John H. “Jack” Marker; brothers: Bob & Richard Bowman; Sister: Florence Corbly.

She is survived by her son: Bob Marker of Freemont, Ohio; daughter: Janice Cox of Greenville, Ohio; 11 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; & numerous nieces & nephews.

Services will be held on Wednesday April 25, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio with Pastor Richard Shockney officiating. Burial will follow in Greenville Cemetery. James E. “Pete” Lantz, age 85 of Greenville, Ohio passed away on Saturday April 21, 2012 at 1:53 PM at Rest Haven Nursing Home, Greenville, Ohio. He was born March 19, 1927 in Greenville, Ohio the son of the late John & Bessie Lee (Curtis) Lantz. He worked for ServiceMaster overseeing building and also he worked part time for Bill Hawkey. He served in the United States Coast Guard during World War II.

He was a member of the Greenville VFW; he loved sports playing football and basketball in high school and was a junior high athletic referee.

He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter: Christy (Lantz) Uslin; sister: Helen Moore.

He is survived by his wife: Audrey (Jewell) Lantz of Greenville whom he married May 29, 1949; son & daughter in law: John & Kim Lantz of Harmony, ME; grandchildren: Michael Lantz, James Lantz, Nathan Uslin; special friends: Mary Holzapfel, John & Alma Pequignot, & Bill Huber.

Helen Ilene (Burk) Reed entered Heaven’s garden on Thursday April 19, 2012. Loved and missed by her husband of 64 years, Paul D. Reed

Helen and Paul raised two daughters Pamela Schmidt and Michele (Shelly) Acker. Their family was blessed by 4 grandchildren, Melissa Baker, Christina Couch, Tara Powell and Ryan Paul Acker. Helen was loved by 9 great grandchildren, Jason, Gregory, Logan, Nolan, Bailey, Emily, Olivia and Lucas. She mourned the loss of her great granddaughter, Erica Nicole Baker, missing since February 7, 1999.

She was welcomed to the Heavenly garden by her parents, Roy and Lucille (Slade) Burk, and her brothers Paul & Don Burk.

Helen knew how to love and how to laugh and she will be missed.

Services will be held on Monday April 23, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio with Rev. Elwood Stuart officiating. Richard Kent “Dick” Ingels, age 81, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away at 10:26 P.M. on Sunday, April 15, 2012 at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton. Dick was born February 19, 1931 in Indianapolis, Indiana, to the late Dallas L. & Catherine (Simon) Ingels.

Dick is survived by his wife, Mariann (Kjeldsen) Ingels whom he married June 29, 1957; son & daughter-in-law, Scott A. & Chrisa Ingels of Greenville; daughter, Lisa A. Wetzel of Greenville; granddaughter, Catherine A. “Catie” Wetzel of Greenville; brother & sister-in-law, Ronald & Janie Ingels of Cape Coral, Florida; sister-in-law, Betty Kjeldsen of Indianapolis, Indiana; and 10 nieces & nephews and numerous cousins.

Dick served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He worked in retail as a clothing buyer for L.S. Ayres and Co. and relocated his family to become manager of the Boston Store in Union City, Indiana in the late 1960’s. Dick was a member of the Kiwanis Club in Union City, Indiana.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, April 28, 2012 at Greenville Cemetery (New Section) in Greenville, Ohio. Miss Kathryn Dismeier, age 91, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, April 15, 2012 at the Brethren Retirement Community, Greenville, Ohio. She was born on October 5, 1920 in Greenville, Ohio, to the late Fred & Callie (Wagner) Dismeier. Kathryn is survived by many relatives and friends.

Kathryn was a lifelong member of the St. John Lutheran Church in Greenville, Ohio. Throughout her life, she was active with many organizations and events in the Greenville community.

Jo Ann Whitham, age 80 of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 8:00 A.M. Thursday April 12, 2012 in the Brethren Retirement Center Greenville, Ohio. Jo Ann was born September 1, 1931 in Greenville, Ohio and the daughter of the late Harry and Naomi F. (McKeon) Fenstermaker.

She was a graduate of Greenville High School and Miami Valley Hospital School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse. She had been employed at Miami Valley Hospital Dayton, Ohio, Wayne Hospital in Greenville and later at Rest Haven Nursing Home where she retired following 28 years of employment.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Lloyd N. Whitham in 1996. They were married January 3, 1953. Also by a grandson Tim Whitham; brother Harry Leas and sister Elizabeth Horn.

Jo Ann is survived by daughters Jodi C. Bond of Boxborough, MA and Sherri B. Whitham of Junction City, CA. son Daniel E. Whitham Springboro, Ohio. Grandchildren Rachel Uchida, Kyle Bond and Kelsey Bond. Step Son Craig Whitham of Harrison, Ohio step daughter Shirley Bonkowski of Harrison, Ohio and three step grandchildren.

Private Funeral Services will be held at the convenience of the family in the Zechar Bailey Funeral Home Greenville, Ohio Pastor Todd Reish officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenville Cemetery. There will be no public visitation.

Mary Lou Newbauer (April 10, 2012)

Mary Lou Newbauer, age 81, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, April 10, 2012 at 5:35 PM at the Brethren Retirement Community in Greenville, Ohio. She born on June 9, 1930 in Ft. Jefferson, Ohio, to the late Lewis Scott & Mary Lucille (Wilson) Fitzgerald.

She is survived by her daughter and son in law, Carole Sue & Lee Arnold of Alabama; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; brothers and sisters in law, Donald & Judy Fitzgerald of Greenville and Robert & Maxine Fitzgerald of Greenville; sisters and brother in law, Marty & Vern Tracy of Greenville, Norma Baker of Greenville, and Betty Sillcott of Greenville; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Melvin “Mick” Eugene Fitzgerald; stillborn son, Daryl David Newbauer; brother, Charles Fitzgerald; and sister, Joan Messmore.

Mary Lou worked as a cook for the Darke County Home for 10 years before retiring in 1994. She attended the Harris Creek Church of the Brethren.

There will be a service held on Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio, with Pastor Richard Shockney officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery, Ft. Jefferson, Ohio. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Shirley M. (Keller) Schultz (April 12, 2012)

Shirley M. (Keller) Schultz, 74, of Greenville, passed away early Thursday morning, April 12, 2012, at Heartland of Greenville.

She was born August 15, 1937 in Darke County, daughter of the late Daniel and Bessie (Tisor) Keller. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Margaret Oakes; and brothers, Verl Keller, Melvin Keller, and Myron "Tony" Keller.

Shirley had worked at Walmart in Greenville for over the last 18 years. She was a 1956 graduate of Versailles High School.

She was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church in Greenville, the Eastern Star, VFW Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary, and the Women of the Moose.

She is survived by her children, Daniel F. Punches of Michigan, Jeffrey Z. Punches of Michigan, Ronda K. Wieneke of Michigan, and Robert J. Punches of Greenville; several grandchildren; brothers, Donald Keller of Versailles, Dick Keller of Oregon, Raymond Keller of Piqua, and Zane Keller of Ansonia; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, April 16, at the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville with Pastor Alan Knoke officiating. Burial will follow in the Miami Memorial Park near Covington.

John D. Thayer, age 82, of Celina, Ohio, and formerly of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Monday, April 9, 2012 at 10:45 AM at Mercer Health in Coldwater, Ohio. He was born on July 17, 1929 in Laura, Ohio, to the late John & Zerelda (Bridenbaugh) Thayer.

He is survived by his children, Jerry Thayer of Celina, Ohio, Anna Marie Thayer of Minster, Ohio, Melody (Chris) Tuthill of Greenville, Kent Thayer of Celina, Ohio, Jeannette (Mike) Best of Greenville, and Jeanne (Ronnie) Best of St. Paris, Ohio; grandchildren, Jason, Elizabeth, Dana, Tyler, Breanna, Chad, Alysha, Shawn, Dustin, and Joshua; great grandchildren, Vinnie, Louie, Camryn, Landyn, Natalie, and Allison; sister, Donna Flora of Union, Ohio; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy M. Thayer whom he married on September 13, 1952 and brother, Darrell Thayer.

John worked at Hobart Brothers in Troy, Ohio and was a member of the United States Army serving in the Korean Conflict. He was also a member of the VFW in Greenville. He loved raising dogs, fishing and was an avid turtle trapper.

There will be a service held on Friday, April 13, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio, with Pastor Tom Christen officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenville Township Memorial Gardens, Greenville, Ohio. Family will receive friends on Thursday, April 12, 2012 from 5-8 PM at the funeral home.

In addition to his mother he is survived by his son and daughter in law, Chris (Tammi) Ross of Greenville; daughter and son in law, Amy (Doug) Whittington of Versailles, Ohio; grandchildren, Daniel (Renee) Whittington, Ashley Whittington, Alicia Ross, Tanner Ross, and Paige Ross; great granddaughter, Jenna Whittington; sister and brother in law, Vickie (Terry) Rogers of Greenville; nephews, Justin & Nathan Rogers; as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins.

In addition to his father he is preceded in death by his step father, Kenneth Baldschun.

Ron worked at Spartech Plastics as well as was a farmer. He was a member of the Moose Lodge and Eagles in Greenville. He enjoyed bracket racing and building motors.

There will be a service held on Friday, April 13, 2012 at 10:30 AM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio, with Pastor Sylvia McKibben officiating. Dale L. Sink (April 8, 2012)

Dale LeRoy Sink, 84 of Greenville, Ohio went to be with his Lord on Sunday, April 8, 2012 at his residence. He was born August 31, 1927 in Arcanum, Ohio to the late LeRoy and Laura (Brown) Sink.

Dale was a self employed contractor all his life. He attended Sinclair Business College. Dale enjoyed collecting stamps, drinking coffee, going to Cincinnati Reds baseball games, and making new friends. He was a member or the republican party and a member of the EUM church in Greenville where he was very active in the hospital visitation ministry. He was also a ardent supporter of changing lives of trouble youth in Ohio. Dales greatest passion was his family and spending time with them. Dale was a faithful servant of the Lord.

In addition to his parents, Dale is preceded in death by his daughter Christine Jo Henderson, and a brother Bill Sink.

Dale is survived by his wife of 58 years, Nancy (Tharp) Sink of Greenville; his son, Jeff Sink of Greenville; 5 daughters and son in laws, Vicki Gebhart of Ansonia, Debra and Tony Black of Greenville, Patty and Ben Browning of Escondido, CA, Barbara and Jim Fishinger of Vista, CA, and Linda and Kelly Duckett of Greenville; 15 grandchildren; 6 Great Grandchildren; sisters, Virginia Koontz, Miamisburg, OH, and Dorothy Haar, Ft. Meyers FL.

A celebration of life will be held Friday, April 13, 2012 at 10:00 am at EUM church in Greenville. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 12,2012 from 5:00- 8:00pm also at church. Russell Junior Mikesell age 88, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away at 10:25 A.M. on Sunday, April 8, 2012 at Reid Hospital in Richmond, Indiana. Russell was born September 28, 1923 in Darke County, Ohio, to the late Bert & Treva (Lantz) Mikesell.

Russell is survived by his wife of 61 years, Doris (Rhoades) Mikesell whom he married October 21, 1950; daughters & sons-in-law, Pamela & Thomas Marsh of Las Vegas, Nevada, Connie O’Connor of Greenville and Jann & Michael Unger of Versailles; grandchildren, Aaron & Melissa Marsh, Alicia Marsh & Willie Hinkle, Rusty & Michelle O’Connor, Rodney & Angie O’Connor, April & Steve Lovett, Shawn & Marianne Unger, Shane Unger and Shad Unger; great grandchildren, Josephine, Cooper, Jakobi, Molly, Emily, Elly, Jace, Scott, Jac, Tobi, Chamberlain and Lauren; brothers & sister-in-law, Robert & Kathryn Mikesell of Greenville and John Mikesell of Greenville; sisters-in-law, Moleta Mikesell of Greenville and Shirley Mikesell of Greenville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

William N. “Bill” Schatz Sr., age 78, of Greenville, Ohio, went to be with his Lord, Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, April 6, 2012 at 10:22 P.M.. Bill was born February 10, 1934 in Hamilton, Ohio, to the late Arthur & Margaret (Eikellberger) Schatz.

Bill is survived by his wife, Linda (Roth) Mikesell Schatz whom he married June 16, 1989; children, Beth Enis of Lexington, Kentucky, Nick Jr. & Diana Schatz of Morehead, Kentucky, John & Jennifer Schatz of Greenville, David Schatz of Olive Hill, Kentucky, Richard & Erica Schatz of Tipp City, Tracy Schatz of Troy, Kathy Fantasia of Greenville, Gene & Stacy Mikesell of Eaton, Jana Dowler of Greenville, Todd Mikesell of Greenville and Susan & Doug Jones of Greenville; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Bill is also preceded in death by a brother, Robert Schatz; and a sister, Margaret McCreadie.

Bill retired from FPE in New Madison. Bill was formerly a grocery manager for Eikenberry’s IGA Foodliners in Greenville and Troutwine’s Grocery in Arcanum. Bill was a Veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Korean Conflict. Bill was a member of Trinity Wesleyan Church in Greenville; Darke County Horse Shoe Club; and Gideon’s.

Helen is survived by her husband, Joseph A. Eliker whom she married November 28, 1942; son & daughter-in-law, Barry & Chris Eliker of Greenville; daughters & sons-in-law, Jo Ellen & Charles J. Sullivan of Greenfield, Indiana and Connie & Ellis Bates Jr. of New Madison; grandchildren, Erin & Michael Effner, Ryan M. & Lindsey Sullivan, Justin & Elizabeth Bates, Joshua Bates & fiancée Jessica Bowers, Chase Wright, and Kimberly & Corey Mowen; great grandchildren, Elise V. Pastor Brian P. Delk (April 3, 2012)

Pastor Brian P. Delk, 52, of New Madison died April 3, 2012, from an auto accident on U.S. Route 127.

He was born July 14, 1959, in Greenville, son of Lenvall and Sarah Jane (Brinkman) Delk.

Brian was a graduate of Capitol University and was the pastor of Student Ministries for the Castine Church of the Brethren. He loved serving the Lord. Brian was a board member of the Anchors Away Ministries and past board member of Youth for Christ.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Regina (Gibson) Delk, who died Dec. 29, 2003.

Brian is survived by his wife, Cindi (Baker) Delk, whom he married Aug. 5, 2006; daughters Jennifer Carr and husband Andrew of Powell, Ohio, Megan Foster and husband Christopher of Arcanum, and Alyssa Wetzel and husband Scott of Pendleton, Ind.; stepdaughter Elizabeth (Squillante) Simmons and husband Seth of Columbus, Ohio; grandson Elyjah Wetzel; parents Lenvall and Sarah Jane Delk of Arcanum; sister Karen Banks of Arcanum; brothers Chris Delk and wife Lori of St. Louis and Galen Delk and wife Babette of Arcanum; nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 6:30 p.m. Monday at the Castine Church of the Brethren with Pastor Greg Hyre officiating. Graveside Committal service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday in Abbottsville Cemetery.

Barry Allen Harrison, age 53, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at his residence. He was born on November 1, 1958 in Dayton, Ohio, to the late Russell & Shirley (Lamberg) Harrison.
He is survived by his siblings, Rusty Harrison of North Star, Ohio, Randy (Deanna) Harrison of Arcanum, Ohio, Lisa (Randy) O’Dell of Arcanum, Ohio, and Dan “Red” Harrison of Greenville; nieces and nephew, Nicole Harrison, Brandey Brubaker, Macey O’Dell, Chelsie Platfoot, and Brad O’Dell; great nephew, Evan Moody; and special friend, Jeanine Bussard of Greenville.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Barry worked at Whirlpool in Greenville and was a member of the Moose Lodge and National Rifle Association. He enjoyed hunting and was an umpire for softball for many years.

Carolyn is survived by her sons & daughter-in-law, Mark & Patty Niswonger of Pennsylvania and Jay Niswonger of Germantown; daughter, Sylvia Niswonger of Greenville; step sons, Paul Simon Jr., of Georgia and Mike Simon of Troy; step daughter, Diana Simon of Illinois; grandchildren, Brandon Williams, Megan Niswonger, Josh Niswonger, Bradley Simon, Shane Simon, Cory Simon, Justine Simon, Ryan Simon, Carrie Marie Simon, Jessica Simon, Angie Simon and Jessie Simon; numerous great grandchildren; and a brother, Junior Mowery of Michigan.

In addition to her parents, Carolyn is also preceded in death by her husband, Paul W. “Bill” Simon Sr. on February 3, 2008 whom she married June 25, 1966; brothers, Howard and Jesse Mowery; and sisters, Linda Maples and Thelma Norris.

Carolyn was a 1953 Graduate of Greenville High School. She was a member of the Evangelical United Methodist Church in Greenville. Carolyn retired in 1999 from Fram Corporation in Greenville and formerly worked at the Darke County Home for 3 ½ years.

Frances L. Ely, age 89 of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 12:50 A.M. Wednesday April 4, 2012 at her residence. Frances was born October 5, 1922 in Darke County, Ohio and the daughter of the late Charles & Pauline (Slade) Turrell.

She was a homemaker, a member of the First Congregational Christian Church of Greenville and a graduate of Greenville High School.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband William A. Ely May 23, 1976. They were married February 9, 1946. Also by her brother William A. Turrell in 1985.

Frances is survived by a son and daughter in law William Charles & Delores A. Ely of Greenville, and daughter June Louise Ely, Greenville, Ohio. Grandchildren Michelle Boyd and Alan W. Gustafson; great grandchildren Shawn Boyd and Patrick Boyd; Sister LaVaun Mitchell of Tipp City and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday April 11, 2012 in the Zechar Bailey Funeral Home Greenville, Ohio with Rev. Joe Soley officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenville Cemetery. Viola Stamps, 92, of Greenville, passed away on April 3, 2012 at the Brethren Retirement Community in Greenville. She was born on November 2, 1919 in Grayridge, Missouri, to the late Frank and Effie (Elliot) Moores.

Viola worked as an inspector at Belden during her life. Her greatest passion was her family.

Debra “Debbie” Nichols (March 31, 2012)

Debra “Debbie” Nichols, 51 of Greenville, Ohio passed away on Saturday, March 31, 2012 at Rest Haven Nursing Home in Greenville. She was born December 27, 1960 in Seymour, Indiana to the late Dale and Janet (Greenwood) Amick.

Debbie loved all of her granddaughters and enjoyed attending their activities. She also loved going to the Moose Lodge, VFW, and American Legion all in Greenville. Debbie was known to many other kids as “Mom”.
Debbie is survived by 2 sons, Joshua Nichols and Jacob Nichols, both of Greenville; a daughter and son in law, Amanda & Travis Francis of Greenville; 6 granddaughters, Ricki Murray, AdriAnna Nichols, Kohl Francis, Kayden Smith, Karlee Francis, and Kendale Francis; a sister, 3 nephews, a grandmother and many aunts and uncles.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, April 7, 2012 at 6:00 pm at the Greenville Moose Lodge. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Zach Deo “Jumbo” Elliott (March 31, 2012)

Zach Deo “Jumbo” Elliott, age 16 of Versailles, Ohio passed away on Saturday March 31, 2012 at Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton, Ohio. He was born November 15, 1995 in Greenville, Ohio the son of Eric & Michelle (Holdeman) Elliott of Versailles. He worked at Weaver Brothers in Versailles. He was a sophomore at Versailles High School where he was a member of the Versailles FFA, football team, & wrestling team; he was also a member of 4 H; & the Webster River Rats. He was very passionate about fishing.

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather: Richard Holdeman; great grandparents: Walter & Thelma Edwards.

He is survived by his parents; his sister: Katie Elliott at home; his brother: Josh Elliott at home; paternal grandparents: Barbara & George Elliott; maternal grandparents: Tom & Mary Hall; maternal great grandmother: Marcella Magoteaux; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins & good friends.

Services will be held on Thursday April 5, 2012 at 10:30 AM at Versailles Christian Church, 105 West Ward Street, Versailles, Ohio, with Pastor Dennis Wheeler officiating. Family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday April 4, 2012 at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home, Versailles, Ohio and 1 hour prior to services at the church.
