Esta Fletcher Hathaway (July 2, 2012)

Esta Fletcher Hathaway, age 90, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Monday, July 2, 2012 at 7:00 PM at the Brethren Retirement Community. She was born on March 30, 1922 in Washington Township, Ohio, to the late Raymond E. & Hazel E. (Moore) Brinley.

She is survived by her daughters and sons in law, Shirley & Tom Heindl of Greenville and Kay & Duane Leis of Greenville; sons and daughters in law, Tom & Marvella Fletcher of Greenville, John & Barbara Fletcher of Greenville and Mike & Leigh Fletcher of Greenville; step daughters, Moleta Mikesell of Greenville and Roberta & Rick McConnell of Ansonia, Ohio; 10 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; several step grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother, Lowell Brinley of Greenville; sisters, Margaret Thomas Lumpkin of Greenville and Jane Fletcher of Greenville; special friend, Barbara Zacharias; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her first husband, John “Roscoe” Fletcher; second husband, Jessie Hathaway; brothers, Wesley “Al” Brinley, James R. Brinley, and Raymond “Doc” Brinley; sister, Mary K. Bertram; step daughter, Rebecca Minnich; step son in law, Bill Mikesell; step grandchildren, Curt Denniston and Vicki Mikesell.

Esta was a member of the Ansonia First Church of God where she helped in the kitchen and nursery as well as with bible school. She was a homemaker and also was a cook at the Snells Restaurant. Esta’s family would like to express that she was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

There will be a service held on Friday, July 6, 2012 at 10:30 AM at Ansonia First Church of God, 750 South Main Street, Ansonia, Ohio, with Pastor Tim Schrock officiating. Burial will follow in the Abbottsville Cemetery, Darke County, Ohio. Family will receive friends on Thursday, July 5, 2012 from 5-8 PM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio, as well as one hour prior to the service at church.
