John Robert “Bob” Hahn (July 21, 2012)

John Robert “Bob” Hahn age 85, of Versailles, Ohio passed away at 4:05 P.M. on Saturday, July 21, 2012 at the Versailles Health Care Center in Versailles. Bob was born November 13, 1926 in Montgomery County, Ohio, to the late John & Ethel (Dryden) Hahn.

Bob is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Rosalie Ann (Wilson) Hahn whom he married July 19, 1947; son & daughter-in-law, William & Connie Hahn of Dayton; daughters & son-in-law, Linda & Jerry Barhorst of Versailles and Vicki Hahn of Huber Heights; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Bob is also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Cheryl Hahn; brothers, William and Charles Hahn; and a sister, Helen Schneider.

Bob retired from Standard Register Company in Dayton, where he was a rubber plate maker. Bob was a member of the Versailles Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 2347. He was Past President of the Versailles, Greenville and Huber Heights Fraternal Order of Eagles. Bob was a former scout master, little league coach, bowling coach, High School football chain crew and bus driver for Huber Heights School. Bob was known for his sense of humor and he never knew a stranger.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 25, 2012 from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home in Versailles with a Lodge of Sorrow service conducted by the Versailles Fraternal Order of Eagles at 6:00 P.M.. There will be a private graveside service held at the convenience of the family at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens in New Carlisle. Memorial contributions may be made to the State of Heart Hospice.
