Anna Maxine Alexander (December 24, 2012)

Anna Maxine Alexander, 86, passed away the afternoon of December 24, 2012 at the Brethren Home with her daughter by her side. She was the daughter of the late Virgil and Nell (Stephens) Fowble. Born on January 4, 1926 she was raised on the farm west of Greenville along with her brother, the late Clarence Fowble. She graduated from Palestine High School in 1943.

On January 5, 1944, she married the late Chalmer J. Alexander who passed away on July 2, 1966. They were blessed with a son, Jack (Judy) Alexander of Greenville and a daughter, Linda (Bill) Brown of Rossburg. They had two daughters that died in infancy.

Her pride and joy was her family. Her love of animals especially her dogs got her the nickname "Grandma Puppy" by her grandchildren, Doug (Cindy) Alexander, Greenville, Lori (Brad) Pearson, Brookville, Travis (Lisa) Brown, Rossburg, and Jason (Sara) Alexander, Versailles.

Her great grandchildren, Randi Alexander, Raleigh, North Carolina, Jessica Alexander, Vandalia, Jonathan and Hannah Pearson, Brookville, Garrett and Emma Brown, Rossburg, Madison and Chloe Alexander, Versailles, and a step great granddaughter, Macie Daniel of Muncie, Indiana always brought a smile to her face.

On May 9, 1955 she starting working for Fram and after thirty four years retired on June 1, 1989.

Her life was devoted to taking care of her parents and always helping he family until she was diagnosis with Alzheimers four years ago. As her family watched her health decline, their love for her never ending. Recently, she underwent surgery and her family was informed that she also had cancer.

She was a member and attended Trinity Wesleyan Church in Greenville. Her faith and love for God was shown in everything that she did.

Services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday. December 29, 2012 at the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville with Rev. Steve Short officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenville Township Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 12 p.m. - 2 p.m. The family requested in lieu of flowers that donations be made in her memory to the new Darke County Dog Park.
