James T. “Tom” Hope, age 77 of Greenville, Ohio passed away on Sunday January 13, 2013 at 10:32 PM at Bluffton Regional Medical Center, Bluffton, Indiana. He was born September 23, 1935 in Greenville, Ohio the son of the late Augusta V. (Goens) Hope and James T. Hope Sr. & Irene Hope. He worked for Westinghouse & BASF. He attended Bethel Wesleyan Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents; step mother; great grandson: James Ryan Schlechty.
He is survived by his wife: Patricia A. “Pat” (Carpenter) Hope of Greenville; daughters: Faith Hope of Greenville, Marlenea Hope & Randy Hood of Greenville, Dawn Hope & Dan Chapman of Greenville; son & daughter in law: Thomas & Terry Hope of Greenville; grandchildren & spouses: Jennifer & Craig “Biggin” Schlechty, Ryan Hope & Nicole Stevens, Nicole & Matt Fourman, Christopher Hope; great grandchildren: Carl, Caleb, & Caden Schlechty, Payton Fourman; brother & sister in law: Bill & Connie Hope, Indiana; sisters: Barbara Smith of Colorado, Greta Werner of Greenville; numerous nieces & nephews.
Services will be held on Thursday January 17, 2013 at 3:00 PM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio with Pastor Kenneth Wood & Pastor Scott Ritz officiating. Burial will follow in Bass Cemetery, Liberty Township, Darke County, Ohio. Family will receive friends from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM on Thursday January 17, 2013 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to the Long Community Center.
