James C. Condon (May 30, 2013)

Mr. James C. Condon, age 79, of Versailles, Ohio passed away on May 30, 2013 at 1:27 a.m. at Miami Valley Hospital. He was born April 8, 1934 in Dayton, Ohio, to the late Russell E. and Clara (Stocker) Condon. He was raised in West Milton, Ohio and moved to Versailles, Ohio in 1945. Upon graduation from Parker Vocational HS in Dayton, Ohio in 1952, he worked at the Frigidaire Division of GM and joined the Ohio Air National Guard.

He joined the United States Air Force in October 1954 and entered the Aviation Cadet Program at Ellington AFB in Houston, Texas. Upon graduation in December 1955, he was commissioned a Second Lieutenant and received his Navigator/Bombadier Wings. During his career, he flew B-47 and B-52 bombers amassing 6,000 flying hours. He flew 126 combat missions during the Vietnam War. He was shot down over Hanoi, North Vietnam on December 28, 1972, was captured and spent 91 days as a POW. From 1973 to 1978 he attended Air War College in Alabama and served on the staff of 15th Air Force in California. After his retirement in 1978, he and his family moved to Versailles. During his combined 26 years of service he received many awards including the Distinguished Flying Cross, Bronze Star, Purple Heart, POW Medal and the Air Medal w/5 Oak Leaf Clusters.

He along with his wife owned and operated The House of Flowers in Versailles, Ohio, for 19 years. During this time he was very active in the community. He served a term on Village Council, was on the Board of the Versailles Development Association, was on the Poultry Days Committee serving as Chairman in 1983 and was one of the founders and served on the Board of Heritage Park. He was a member of St. Denis Catholic Church, a member of the Versailles Lions Club, the Versailles Area Historical Society, a Golden Eagle Member of the Versailles Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 2347, the Versailles Planning Commission and Zoning Board of Appeals, a member of the Darke County Disabled American Veterans and a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He was preceded in death by his parents, stepmother Rita Condon, sister Maria and grandson Nathan Condon.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Jenny (Siefring) Condon; children and spouses, Brian and Barb Condon, Krista and Charlie Krueger, Mary Beth and Dave Berger and Kelly and Brian Trump, all of Versailles, Ohio; eighteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Brothers and sister, Fred and Roberta Condon, Dick and Angie Condon, Bob and Becky Condon and Marcia and Chuck Meiring, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, June 3, 2013 at St. Denis Catholic Church in Versailles with Rev. Fr. David Vincent celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Valbert Cemetery in Versailles with Military graveside services conducted by the Versailles Veteran’s Honor Guard. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2:00 to 7:00 P.M. and Monday morning from 9:00 to 10:00 A.M. at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home in Versailles. John “Jack” Reyer Holmes (May 26, 2013)

John “Jack” Reyer Holmes, 80, of Cape Coral, formerly of Greenville, OH, passed away Sunday, May 26, 2013 at his home. He was born January 3, 1933 in Auburn, NY to the late Leslie and Doris Holmes.

Jack was of the Christian faith. He also enjoyed being a member of the American Legion. He is a Korean war veteran having served in the United States Marine Corps , where he learned the trade of meat cutting. In his life he worked for several grocery companies practicing his trade and was also a Meat Director for Superfoods Inc. (Bellefontaine, OH). He and his wife owned and operated Northside Meats and Delicatessen in Greenville, OH prior to relocating to Cape Coral, Florida in 1988. At the time of his death he was working for Publix Supermarket in Cape Coral, FL where he had been a meat cutter for 13 years.

Jack will be remembered by all as a very giving and loving man. He was known to donate generously to the food banks throughout the years. He always wanted for everyone to have everything they could need, and could not stand the thought of anyone being without. Jack was very proud of his family and had often stated that he was put on Earth to take care of his wife and children. He was an extraordinary husband, father, and grandfather.

Jack is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Frances L. Holmes of Cape Coral, FL; two children, Marti Stull and her husband Doug of Cape Coral; stepson Dan Howard and his wife Beverly of Middletown, OH; one sister, Kay Pesek of Auburn, NY; ten grandchildren, Julie Stull, Jaime (Stull) Olivo, Jennifer (Stull) Deniston, Cindy (Howard) Banks, Chris Howard, Andrea (Howard) Hendrix, Josh Wright , Tom Howard ,Cherie D’Varga, and Bart Howard; eleven great grandchildren; one great great grandchild as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Jack was preceded in death by his two brothers, Victor and Robert Holmes and his stepson, Tom Howard.

A Memorial Service will be held 2:30pm on Saturday, June 1, 2013 at First Assembly West, 121 Del Prado Blvd., Cape Coral, with Pastor Corey Baker officiating.

Beulah I. Zimmerman (May 29, 2013)

Beulah I. Zimmerman age 104, of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 6:05 A.M. on Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at her residence. Beulah was born August 5, 1908 in Auglaize County, Ohio to the late Samuel & Nellie (Seigel) Morris.

Beulah is survived by her daughter, Maxine Hangen of Greenville; granddaughters, Sandra (Mike) Ashby of Greenville and Sue (David) Barnette of Greenville; and many loving great and great-great grandchildren whom she adored getting hugs and kisses from.

In addition to her parents, Beulah is also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Zimmerman; step son, Morris Zimmerman; step daughter, Helen Miller; and eleven siblings.

Beulah was a homemaker. Beulah was a member of the Evangelical United Methodist Church in Greenville, being the oldest attending member. She worshiped faithfully up to the time of her illness. Beulah was awarded as the oldest person attending the Darke County Fair for the past two years. Beulah was one of the oldest citizens to vote in Darke County this past election.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, June 1, 2013 at EUM Worship Center 1451 Sater Street Greenville with Pastor Jeff Harper and Pastor Sylvia McKibben officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery in Ft. Jefferson. The family will receive friends on Friday from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. and Saturday morning from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. at EUM Worship Center. E. Orleta Deubner (May 28, 2013)

E. Orleta Deubner, age 87 of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 7:32 P.M. Tuesday May 28, 2013 at Wayne HealthCare Greenville, Ohio. She was born July 16, 1925 in Greenville, Ohio and the daughter of the late Ora H. “Pete” and Oneta (Wright) Weaver.

Orleta retired in 1984 from the United Telephone Company where she had been employed for 17 1\2 years as a telephone operator. She enjoyed gardening and was a very devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband C. Norman Deubner September 30, 2003. They were married May 29, 1948. Also by a great grandson Cody Ploof; brother Roy Weaver; sisters Ruth Ellen Weaver, Betty Larsh and Norine Baker.

Orleta is survived by her children Craig N. (Kay) Deubner of Waynesville, Ohio and Jana Deubner of Arcanum. Grandchildren Amy (Chad) Ploof of Beavercreek and Lisa (Tommy) Young of Union; great granddaughter Alyssa Ploof as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday May 31, 2013 in the Zechar Bailey Funeral Home Greenville, Ohio with Pastor Terry Haworth officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenville Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. on Thursday and 1 hour prior to the services on Friday in the funeral home.

Marvin M. Miller (May 25th, 2013)

Marvin M. Miller, 97, of rural Arcanum, died Saturday, May 25th, 2013 at his residence. Mr. Miller was born March 22, 1916, the son of the late David and Ella (Brown) Miller. He was a 1934 graduate of the Monroe School, Pitsburg; a veteran of the U S Army, WWII serving in the South Pacific; and a member of the Gordon United Methodist Church. Marvin was a retired General Contractor.

He was preceded in death by his wife Jennie (Evans) Miller who died May 7, 2012, and 3 brothers William, Denver and Cleo Miller; 4 Sisters Ethel Horner, Susie Miller, Treva Berte, and Viola Brown.

He is survived by his daughter Gloria (Jerry) Clouse of Brevard, NC; sons Gary (Pauline) Miller of Gordon, David T. Miller of Arcanum; 5 grandchildren Tim (Elizabeth) Clouse, Kimberly (Greg) Gramke; Shannon (Scott) Clark, Benjamin and Matthew Miller; great grandchildren Madison and Tyler Clark, Evan and Emma Gramke, Oliver and Grechen Clouse.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday May 30, 2013 at the Gordon United Methodist Church with Rev John Gilmore officiating. Burial will follow in Abbottsville Cemetery. Patrick Anthony McNutt (May 27, 2013)

Patrick Anthony McNutt passed away at home after a brave nine month struggle with pancreatic cancer on May 27, 2013. He was born on September 9, 1961 in Greenville, Ohio.

He is survived by his beloved wife Jayne (Blackford) of 29 years and his two daughters Jessicia & David Klenk of Ann Arbor, MI, and Justina & Stephen Fadely of New Castle, IN, and one grandson Stephen Jacob Fadely. His parents are Monty & Connie (Stammen) McNutt of Summerville, SC, and brothers Joe & Nancy McNutt of Augusta, KS, Mike & Colleen McNutt of Little Rock, AR, and Jim McNutt, and sister Nancy & Randy Mescher of Goose Creek, SC. He had numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was a faithful member of the Castine Church of the Brethren, active in the men’s activities, dartball and volleyball. He was a civil service employee, working for the Navy, Army and Air Force, before settling with the Dayton Veterans Hospital.

There will be a memorial service held on Saturday, June 1, 2013 at 10:00 AM at the Castine Church of the Brethren, 624 US Rt. 127 South, Castine, Ohio, with Pastor Gary Cloyd officiating. The family will be receiving friends immediately following the service. Arrangements are under the direction of Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio.

Mary Ellen Simon (May 24, 2013)

Mary Ellen Simon, of Willowdell, passed away on May 24, 2013. She was born on October 3, 1926, and was the beloved daughter of Ernest (Ray) and Stella Mae (Pittsenbarger) Hahn and the adored big sister to Robert Hahn.

Prior to her marriage, Mary Ellen worked at the Buckeye and also at Wright Patterson Air Force Base. In 1948 Mary Ellen married Robert Edward Simon, who preceded her in death on July 16, 1992. As newlyweds they moved to Willowdell after Bob’s parents died, to raise his 2 younger siblings. Mary Ellen always believed that family came first and she worked tirelessly to keep family traditions alive for the young Simon siblings after their parents passed. She never quit this calling, gathering as many of her children and grandchildren together for every holiday as possible.

Mary Ellen was addicted to handiwork, completing numerous quilts for her children and making certain that every grandchild, great grandchild and many great nieces and nephews all had a special quilt. She also greatly enjoyed vegetable gardening, canning and freezing many meals for the winter to come. Family favorites were hot cocoa, the best applesauce ever made and her chocolate dessert which she made for every family gathering for the past 30 years.

She was a lifelong member of the Osgood American Legion Auxiliary where she made countless pies for meals and social occasions. She joined St. Denis Catholic Church upon her marriage and was a devout member ever since. Mary Ellen felt it was her privilege to visit friends, former neighbors and family members in hospitals and nursing homes as she believed everyone deserved company and a friendly face to help pass the time.

Mary Ellen is survived by her brother Robert (Nina) Hahn of Lewisburg, her children Rebecca (Jim) Bruening of Penrose, NC, Leo (Becky) Simon of Fort Loramie, Peggy (Tim) Rhodus of Dublin, Raymond Simon of Willowdell, Ben (Patty) Simon of Versailles, Barbara (Stephen) Revard of Plain City, and Jim (Pam) Simon of Troy, grandchildren Jacob (Buffy) Bruening, Jeffrey ( Jennine) Bruening, Jason ( Valerie) Simon, Jeremy Simon, Samantha Simon, Adam Simon, Kevin Rhodus, Brian Rhodus, Ethan Rhodus, Nicholas Simon, Tony Simon, and Mitchell Simon, 4 step-grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by sisters-in law, Shirley Simon and JeanneSimon, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Stella Hahn, her husband of 44 years, Robert Edward Simon, and a son in law, Jerry Mescher; brothers in law, Dick Simon and John Simon.
Although she will be sorely missed by her family, her greatest gift was in making each of her children believe they were her favorite.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, May 31, 2013 at 10:30 AM at St. Denis Catholic Church, Versailles, Ohio, with Rev. Fr. David Vincent celebrant. Elcie L. Anthony, 81 of Greenville, Ohio passed away on Sunday May 26, 2013 at 9:14 AM. She was born August 27, 1931 in Dayton, Ohio the daughter of the late Roy & Lois Mae (Screechfield) Small.

She worked at the Hamburger Shop & Mabel’s Toy Fair. She loved making afghans, doing word searches, and jigsaw puzzles. Her grandchildren and step grandchildren were the love of her life.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband: Bobby W. Anthony; granddaughter: Mendy Trissel; 3 sisters, & 1 brother.

David Alan Bilter (May 24, 2013)

David Alan Bilter, 73, of Greenville, passed away early Friday morning, May 24, 2013, at the Brethren Retirement Community in Greenville.

He was born August 30, 1939, in Dayton, son of the late M. Rodney and Elizabeth (Rupert) Bilter.

David had moved to California as a boy, where he graduated from Hayword High School. He then attended San Jose State University where he had earned a Bachellor of Science in Teaching. He was a member of the ROTC at San Jose State where he earned his initial military rank of Second Lieutenant in the United States Air Force.

David was an adventerous soul who spent 6 months touring Europe, then entered the military, and then taught high school english and german before finding his passion for wine. He spent the rest of his career selling and educationg others in the art of enjoying wine. Once he retired, he took up wood working and gun collecting but his love of wine remained his lifelong passion and he rarely missed an opportunity to help educate a newcomer to the wine experience.

He is survived by his wife, Ann Bilter; whom he married on June 4, 1983; a brother, D. Keith (Louise) Bilter of Lafayette, CA; step children, Robin Lynn Johnston of Capitola, CA, Michael (Leslie) Johnston of Roseville, CA, and Paul (Samantha) Hollenbeck of Hemet, CA; 9 step grandchildren; 4 step great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind a sister-in-law Kitty (Dennis) Rohrs of Willits, CA, and brother-in-law Jerry (Carol) Davis of Klamath Falls, OR.

Services, with full military honors, will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, June 1, at the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home, 1000 N. Broadway, Greenville, Ohio. Burial will take place at a later date in the Dayton National Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday, from 12 p.m., till 2 p.m. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to the American Cancer Society.

Gerald “Jerry” Lee Kermeen (May 25, 2013)

Gerald “Jerry” Lee Kermeen, 70, of Greenville, OH, passed away Saturday morning, May 25, 2013 at Wayne Health Care.

He was born November 16, 1942, in Beech Grove, IN, a son of the late Frank and Carrie (Burns) Kermeen. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Robert Kermeen.

Jerry retired from Fram after 26 years of service and was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. He was also very active with the Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Alice (Altick) Kermeen, whom he married July 2, 1966; four children, Mark (Michelle) Kermeen of Urbana, Ohio, Chris (Kim) Kermeen of Greenville, OH, Diana Kermeen of Greenville, Ohio and Janice (Travis) Walker of Greenville, Ohio; 20 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30am, Friday, May 31, 2013 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Greenville, OH. Burial, with full military honors will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Ronald Dean Berry (May 24, 2013)

Ronald Dean Berry, age 76, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Friday, May 24, 2013 at 2:40 PM at Rest Haven Nursing Home, Greenville, Ohio. He was born on July 21, 1936 in Wayne County, Indiana, to the late Chester G. & Eunice R. (Cheeseman) Berry.

He is survived by his wife, Barb (Weyant) Berry of Greenville, Ohio, whom he married on May 26, 1962; sons and daughters in law, Jeffery D. Berry of Fort Worth, Texas, and Rick G. & Missy Berry of Hiram, Georgia; daughter, Lori Berry of Louisville, Kentucky; grandchildren, Lauren Berry, Carly Berry, Parker Berry, Turner Berry, Alexis Gregory and Justin Berry; sister, Sue Wolfe of Greenville; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Dean Retired from Yoder Industries in 2001 and was a Veteran of the United States Army. He was a member of the Eagles, Moose and American Legion in Greenville and loved riding motorcycles.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his brother, Gene Berry and sister, Jane Johnson.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Greenville Township Memorial Gardens, Greenville, Ohio, with Pastor Terry Haworth officiating. There will be no public visitation. Arrangements are under the direction of Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio.

There will be a graveside military service conducted by the Greenville Veterans Honor Guard. It is the wishes of the family that memorial contributions be given to State of the Heart Hospice or Darke County Cancer Association.

Marthalie “Marty” Tracey (May 24, 2013)

Marthalie “Marty” Tracey, age 76, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Friday, May 24, 2013 at 12:55 AM at Reid Hospital, Richmond, Indiana. She was born on April 6, 1937 in Ft. Jefferson, Ohio, to the late Lewis Scott & Mary Lucille (Wilson) Fitzgerald.

She is survived by her husband, Vernon Tracey of Greenville whom she married on March 2, 1972; brothers and sisters in law, Robert & Maxine Fitzgerald of Greenville and Donald & Judy Fitzgerald of Greenville; sister, Norma Baker of Greenville; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by brother, Charles Fitzgerald; sisters, Betty Null, Joan Messor, and Mary Lou Newbauer; and nephew, Bob Doss.

Marty was a homemaker.

There will be a memorial service held on Thursday, May 30, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio, with Pastor Chris Barhorst officiating. There will be a private burial held in Oak Grove Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Dorothy E. Heiser, age 88, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, May 23, 2013 at 3:27 AM at her residence. She was born on February 28, 1925 in Darke County, Ohio, to the late Orville & Clara (James) Enicks.

She is survived by her daughter, Connie Gibbons of Greenville; grandchildren, Sherri (Gibbons) Feitshans of Greenville and Greg Gibbons of Arcanum, Ohio; great granddaughter, Ashley (Gibbons) & Josh Grisez; great grandchildren, Madison and Blaine Grisez; sister in law, Emma Enicks of Greenville; friend of the family, Chad Oswald of Bradford, Ohio; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her sisters and brothers in law, Betty & Verlon Munn and Lucille & Kenny Utz; brothers and sisters in law, Gene & Francis Enicks, Pete & Annabel Enicks, Franklin & Connie Enicks and Bob Enicks; infant sister, Olive Enicks.

Dorothy retired from Fram after 37 ½ years of service and enjoyed her grandkids and quilting.

June A. Wampler, 87, of Greenville, OH, passed away Tuesday morning, May 21, 2013 at Sterling House in Greenville, OH.

She was born January 2, 1926, in Union City, IN, daughter of the late William O. and Mabel (Heck) Passmore. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Leroy "Wimpy" Wampler; son, Randy A. Wampler; brothers, Gale Passmore and Keith Passmore; and a sister, Jean Stump

June was retired from Corning of Greenville as an executive secretery for over 30 years and a member of American Legion Auxiliary of Greenville.

She is survived by her daughter, Roxanne (Steve) Willman of Greenville; grandchildren, Mollie Mendoza, Matt (Kristin) Willman, Mark (Nanci) Willman, Douglas Wampler, Jennifer (Karl) Coffman, Rob (Lavissa) Wampler; great grandchildren; Macayla Mendoza, Chloe Willman, Brady Willman, Eve Willman, Grant Willman, Evan Willman,Dominic Coffman, Devan Coffman and Maia Wampler.

Services will be held at 10:30 Friday, May 24, 2013 at the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville, Ohio. Burial will follow in the St. John Lutheran Church Cemetery.

Lucy M. Collins, 84, of Greenville, passed away early Tuesday, May 21, 2013, at Hospice of Dayton.

She was born June 29, 1928,in Staten Island, NY, daughter of the late George and Margaret (Grim) Loveland. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Colleen M. Hodges in July 17, 2010; and 5 brothers and sisters.

Lucy was a homemaker and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Edward A. Collins, whom she married September 28, 1946; son, Edward J. Collins; grandson, Joshua M. Collins; brother, George M. Loveland; special niece, Cathy Shilo; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, May 23, 2013 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Greenville, Ohio with Fr. John White celebrating. Burial will follow in the the St. Mary's Cemetry.

Priscilla “Sally” (Parker) Hershey, 81 of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Saturday May 18, 2013 at 9:18 AM at her residence. She was born December 26, 1931 in Presque Isle, Maine, the daughter of the late Louis & Madelynn (Murphy) Parker. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary; the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, she enjoyed her and family and friends at the American Legion; she enjoyed cooking.

She is preceded in death by her parents; Husband: James E. Hershey on December 17, 2008 whom she married August 21, 1952; brothers: Bill, Phil, & Lynn Parker; sisters: Gertrude Smith & Louise Beebe.

She is survived by her son: Dennis Hershey of Battle Creek, Michigan; daughter & son in law: Vickie & Dave Hanes of Union City, Ohio; grandchildren & spouses: Chris & Nicki Hanes of Centerville, Ohio, Nick Hanes of Greenville, Heather & Jason Manning of Union City, Ohio, Dan & Amy Hanes of Centerville, Ohio, Ashleigh Hershey of Battle Creek, Michigan, Andrew Hershey of Mt. Richard A. "Dick" Shannon, 70, of Ansonia, passed away late Thursday evening, May 15, 2013, at his daughter's residence.

He was born September 12, 1942, in Union City, IN, son of the late Robert Allen and Elizabeth Ruth (Holaday) Shannon. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian E. (Neff) Shannon, on January 5, 1992; a half brother, Robert E. Shannon; and his longtime companion, Carol Franke.

Dick was retired from the Darke County Highway Department where he had worked for over 27 years. He had served in the Ohio National Guard and was a member of the American Legion and Moose Lodge both in Greenville.

He is survived by his children, Lynn A. (Janell) Shannon of Lake Metigoshe, ND, Shelia (David) Jay of Arcanum, and Steven (Faye) Shannon of Greenville; 8 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; sisters, Virginia Miles of Greenville, and Sue Shannon of Union City, IN; and several nieces and nephews.

Private services will be held at a later date at the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville. Burial will take place in the Greenville Cemetery.

Juanita M. McCabe, age 84 of West Carrollton, Ohio and formerly of Miamisburg and Greenville, Ohio passed away Friday afternoon May 17, 2013 in the Wellington of Dayton. Juanita was born February 5, 1929 in Indianapolis, Indiana and the daughter of the late Myron and Erma (Miller) Mackey.

She, with her husband Don owned and operated the Mound Printing Company of Miamisburg. She was also a member of the St. John Lutheran Church of Greenville.

Juanita is survived by her husband Donald E. McCabe of West Carrollton. They were married May 1, 1948. Also by her children D. Douglas (Nancy) McCabe of West Carrollton and Lynn Potts of Miamisburg. Grandchildren Scott (Leslie) McCabe, Crystal Potts, Lindsay Potts and J.J. Potts. Brother Dwight Mackey of New York, sisters Mary Ellen Fox of Miamisburg, Louise Mackey of Middletown and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:30 P.M. Tuesday May 21, 2013 in the St. John Lutheran Church Cemetery Greenville, Ohio with Pastor Alan Knoke officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. in the Zechar Bailey Funeral Home Greenville, Ohio.

Winifred T. “Winnie” Bulcher, age 96, lived in the Versailles area for 93 years before moving to Dayton, Ohio, passed away on Friday, May 17, 2013 at 8:10 AM at Englewood Manor in Englewood, Ohio. She was born on November 5, 1916 in Frenchtown, Ohio, to the late Henry & Emma (George) Goubeaux.

Winnie is survived by her sons and daughter in law, William Bulcher of Houston, Texas and Tom & Patty Bulcher of Powell, Ohio; daughters and sons in law, Mary Ann & Kenneth Griffiths of Englewood, Ohio and Kathy & Steve Abbott of Lebanon, Ohio; grandchildren, Jacqueline (Alan) Carrier, Cheryl (Kristopher) Larcom, Jacob Abbott and Emma Abbott; great granddaughter, Elizabeth Larcom; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Winnie is also preceded in death by her husband, Robert P. Bulcher on November 26. 2004, whom she married May 22, 1946; sisters, Bessie Paulus and Judith Barga; and great grandson, Kenneth James Toothman.

Winnie was a member of the St. Ann Sodality, former member of St. Denis Catholic Church in Versailles, and currently a member at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Englewood. She loved playing cards, cooking and sewing. She was a homemaker, a former Buckeye Overall employee and a 1935 graduate of Versailles High School.

There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held on Monday, May 20, 2013 at 10:30 AM at St. Denis Catholic Church, Versailles, Ohio, with Rev. Fr. David Vincent celebrant. Burial will follow in the St. Valbert Cemetery, Versailles, Ohio. A homemaker, Joyce was a graduate of West Milton High School Class of 1961.

Hazel I. (Kyle) Johnson-Rearick, 82, of Ansonia, passed away on May 15, 2013 at her residence. Hazel was born on June 13, 1930 in Muncie, Indiana to the late John and Gertrude (Raines) Kyle.

Hazel worked in the mailroom at Purdue University during her life. She loved to attend sporting events of her children and grandchildren, watching T.V. and bowling. She was a girl scout leader when she was younger and loved spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, Hazel is preceded in death by a husband, Edgar Rearick; son, Ronnie Jones; grandson Jason Sloan Rearick and a great-grandson, Isaiah Crowe.

Hazel is survived by daughters, Jenny and Bill Hawkey of New Madison and Kathryn and Brien Hiestand of Ansonia; sons, Jeff and Diana Rearick of Charlotte, NC and John and Lisa Rearick of Charlotte, NC; sixteen grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; a special caregiver, Terri Creech; brothers, Ed and Sue Jones of Orleans, Indiana, Mike and Lois Jones of Indianapolis, IN and Joe Raines and a sister Bibi and Ed King of Orleans, Indiana.

Melvin Ross Royer (May 15, 2013)

Melvin Ross Royer, 88, of Arcanum, formerly of New Paris, passed away peacefully at 2:28 a.m., on May 15, 2013, at the Brethren Retirement Home in Greenville, Ohio. Melvin was born in Darke County on May 5, 1925, to the late Earl and Mary (Rhoades) Royer.

Melvin resided in Darke County his entire life, farming and working a few years at Spartech Plastic in Greenville. He loved gardening, mowing his grass, eating out, visiting with family and homemade ice cream. He is deeply loved and missed by his family. Everyone knew him as a compassionate, soft spoken, very loving husband and father. He loved spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren. He served his nation honorably in the United States Army.

Melvin is survived by his wife of 68 years, Carol (Moses) Royer, whom he married September 18, 1944; daughters, Linda Benham and husband Jim of Richmond, Indiana, Kathryn Roberts and husband Terry of Arcanum and Susan Hora and husband Bob of Lewisburg, Ohio; son David Royer and wife Kathy of Greenville, Ohio; grandchildren, Jim Benham, Brian Derr and wife Kelly, Steven Derr and wife Gail, Matthew Roberts and wife Darlene, Eric Derr and wife Tesa, Michele Roberts and fiancé Jeff Sheidler, Jeff Royer and wife Christina, Dan Royer and wife Jessica, Travis Royer and wife Rachel; great-grandchildren Cory Derr, Hannah Shook, Luke Shook, Bryce Derr and Zarek Derr, Tyler, Lawrence, Ella Mae, Sophia Grace and Gaige Royer; great great-grandchild, Roscoe Derr; brother, Waldo Royer and wife Patty of New Madison, Ohio and a sister, Donna Rife and husband Marvin of Arcanum.

Ralph F. Mumaw (May 14, 2013)

Ralph F. Mumaw, age 89, of Versailles, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at 1:54 AM at Versailles Health Care Center. He was born on August 21, 1923 near Versailles, Ohio, to the late Leo Lewis & Mary Alice “Mamie” (Pequignot) Mumaw.

He is survived by his wife, Jane (Hole) Mumaw of Versailles whom he married on July 23, 1949; son and daughter in law, Terry L. & Joyce Mumaw of Newport, Ohio; daughter and son in law, Linda & Terry Cassel of Greenville; grandchildren, Heather (Brad) Ingle, Christina (Ryan) Hurley, Angela Fisher, Beth, Darrin and Trish Mumaw, Ben (Tracy) Cassel, and Betsy (Aaron) Ward; 10 great grandchildren; brothers, Earl Mumaw of Versailles and Don & Norma Mumaw of Versailles; sisters and brother in law, Ruth Denlinger of Dayton and Joan & Fred Jordan of Sidney.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his brother Robert Mumaw in 1998.

Ralph served in the United States 3rd Army during WWII from 1943-1945 as a corporal. He was a member of St. Denis Catholic Church, lifetime member of the Versailles VFW, and the American Legion in Versailles. He served on the Volunteer Fire Department for 18 years and 17 years helping with Little League Baseball. Ralph worked at the U.S. Post Office for 34 years retiring in 1983. He loved collecting antiques and rebuilding gumball and peanut machines.

There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held on Saturday, May 18, 2013 at 10:30 AM at St. Denis Catholic Church, Versailles, Ohio, with Rev. Fr. David Vincent celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Valbert Cemetery, Versailles, Ohio, with a Graveside Military Service conducted by the Versailles Veterans Honor Guard. William E. Nealeigh age 84, of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 2:46 P.M. on Saturday, May 11, 2013 at Village Green Healthcare Center in Greenville. William was born March 5, 1929 in Darke County, Ohio to the late Harry L. & Elizabeth (Eib) Nealeigh.

William is survived by his wife, Glenda Nealeigh; sons & daughters-in-law, Steven Nealeigh of Titusville, Florida, Keith & Melanie Nealeigh of Greenville and Rodney & Christine Nealeigh of Bradford; daughter, Kathy Nealeigh of Richmond, Indiana; 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; brother, Glenn Nealeigh of Arcanum; sisters & brother-in-law, Madonna Sellman of Ludlow Falls, Dortha & Don Durst of Troy, Carolyn Brandon of Greenville and Gloria Blume of Greenville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

William served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and received the Combat Medal; Good Conduct Medal; Occupation Medal; Korean Service Medal and the Presidential Citation Award. William graduated from Greenville High School in 1947 and graduated from the Allied School of Technology Tool & Die Design & Drafting. William retired from Corning in 1987 where he was a supervisor of Design Engineering with 32 years of service. He received the Senior Associate Award in 1986 from Corning. William was an avid camper, loved fishing, hunting and watching baseball.

Doris “Jean” McIntyre age 87, of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 1:27 P.M. on Friday, May 10, 2013 at Sterling House of Greenville. Jean was born September 28, 1925 in Palestine, Ohio to the late Chalmer & Florence (Ketring) Mosier.

Jean is survived by her daughter, Kim Claudy of Greenville; grandchildren, Naryan & Debbie Claudy and Sarah & Jerrod DePoy; and great-grandchildren, Anora and Bronx Claudy and Braxton and Bryson DePoy.
Jean retired from Wayne Hospital in 1995 where she was a cardio technologist for 28 years. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Greenville. Jean loved to travel and read.

Robert E. "Bob" Singer (May 10, 2013)

Robert E. "Bob" Singer, 89, of New Weston, passed away early Friday morning, May 10, 2013, at Wayne Healthcare in Greenville.

He was born September 11, 1923, in Rossburg, OH, son of the late August A. and Nina (Smith) Singer. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a grandson, Jerry R. Singer, Jr.; brothers, Fredrick, LeRoy, Benjamin,, and Carl Singer; and a sister, Marie Thwaits.

Bob was a veteran of the US Army having served during WWII. He was retired from New Idea in Coldwater where he had worked for 37 1/2 years and was a member of the Rossburg United Methodist Church. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and taking care of his lawn and pond.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Ruby F. (Sanders ) Singer; sons, Jerry R. (Elaine) Singer of New Weston, Larry J. (June) Singer of Lewisburg, and Kerry M. (Candi) Singer of Woodlawn, TN; 11 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; 1 step grandchild; 5 step great grandchildren; 2 step great grandchildren; a brother, Thomas (Lois) Singer of Greenville; sister, Margie Middleton of New Madison; sisters-in-laws, Caroline Singer of Palestine, Marcella Bonifield of Salamonia, IN, Donna Bonifield of New Weston, Dorothy Sanders of Ansonia, and Alice Sanders of Greenville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services with full military honors by the Greenville Veterans Honor Guard will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, May 15, at the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville with Pastor John Monroe officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenville Township Memorial Gardens.

Phyllis Smith, age 89, of 122 Bellvernon Ave. Greenville, Ohio passed away at 9:55 p.m. April 11th, 2013.

Born in Ansonia, Ohio August 3, 1923, Phyllis was preceeded in death by husband Major Eugene Smith; parents John and Katherine Hollar Beisner; sister Pauline Cannon; and brothers Chester, Lowell, and Robert Beisner.

Survived by son Major Smith and wife Denise; grandson Marc Smith; granddaughter Michelle Smith; brothers Paul of New Paris, Ohio, Max of Texas, Bill of Florida, and Jim of Troy, Ohio. Also survived by three great grandsons: Benjamin, Tucker, and Major Smith.

Phyllis graduated from Ansonia High School in 1941. She graduated from Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton, Ohio as a Registered Nurse in 1944. She was a member of the US Cadet Nurse Corp during WW II. She was a Certified Industrial Nurse.

Shirley M. Hiestand, 78, of Greenville passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at Lifecare Hospitals of Dayton in Miamisburg, OHio.

She was born December 13, 1934 in Dayton, Ohio, daughter of the late William and Lucille (Martin) White. In addtion to her parents she is preceded in death by her sister, Joanne Kaiser.

Shirley was a homemaker and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.

She is survived by her husband Nevin E. "Nub" Hiestand whom she married February 12, 1953, 5 children; Krisann (Ted) Riegel of New Carlisle, OH, Greg (Claudia) Hiestand of West Manchester, OH, Brad (Cindy) Hiestand of Rossburg, OH, Karlynn (Dennis) Leeper of Rossburg, OH and Karen (Jim) Eilerman of North Star, OH; grandchildren, April Warren, Jodi Reichert, Samantha Riegel, Shawn Hiestand, Tracy Wendel, Christopher Hiestand, Matt Leeper, Erin Riegel, Ryan Hiestand, Kari Bartrom, Benjamin Eilerman, Seth Eilerman, Nick Hiestand, Joel Eilerman, Brandon Riegel; great grandchildren, Gavin, Kierra, Jacob, Ethan, Hayden, London, Noah, Cole, Sophia, Ayla, Annie, Oliver, Maria, Conner and some on the way. Janet L. Wohlrab, age 84 of Greenville, Ohio passed away Wednesday morning May 8, 2013 at her residence in Greenville. She was born November 20, 1928 in Syracuse, New York and the daughter of the late William and Anna (Kuta) Winters.

She was a homemaker and had been employed as a secretary for Marchal & Marchal Law Firm of Greenville.

She was a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Greenville and the Rosary Altar Society of the church. She also enjoyed playing bridge, hiking, camping and had been an avid skier.

In addition to her parents, Janet was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Wohlrab in 1996; her daughter Catherine E. Wohlrab in 2011 and six brothers and sisters.

Janet is survived by her son and daughter in law Steve and Jayne Wohlrab of Sylva, North Carolina. Also two grandsons Spencer and Colin Wohlrab, a niece Karen and a nephew Ron.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday May 14, 2013 in the St. Mary’s Catholic Church 233 West Third Street Greenville, Ohio with Rev. Father John R. White celebrating. William D. Rhoades (May 7, 2013)

William D. Rhoades age 86, of Greenville, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at Rest Haven Nursing Home in Greenville. William was born September 6, 1926 in Darke County, Ohio to the late Fern W. & Lelia (Strait) Rhoades.

William was involved in farming most of his life in the Greenville area. He was also retired from the Greenville Post Office following 37 ½ years as a rural mail carrier.

William was a member of the First Congregational Christian Church in Greenville; member of the Darke County Farm Bureau; member of the Darke County, Ohio and National Plowing Associations; served on the Darke County Fair Board for 18 years; past member of the National Brown Swiss Cattle Association; past member of the Greenville Board of Education; member and past master in 1958 of the Greenville Masonic Lodge No. 143 F&AM; member of the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Dayton where he was a 32nd degree Mason; and was proud of his 46 consecutive years of planting corn.

In addition to his parents, William is also preceded in death by his 1st wife, Janet L. (Ashman) Rhoades on November 20, 1995; two granddaughters, Krista Rhoades and Kylie Rhoades; brothers, Richard Wayne Rhoades and Ned Rhoades; and a sister, Betty Lee Lewis.

David “Ernest” Hicks, 74, of Greenville passed away on May 1, 2013. David was born on August 1, 1938 to the late Frank and Mary Gingry Glick.

David was a big racing fan and spent a lot of time at Eldora Speedway. He was a long time employee at the bowling alley in Greenville and loved by many.

In addition to his parents, David is preceded in death by a sister, Pearl Steiner; a brother, Ted Glick and a nephew Rick Steiner.

Left to cherish his memory are eight nieces and nephews, Becky Steiner (widow of Rick) of Greenville, Ohio, Sue Holleman of Batesville, Arkansas, Judy Baker, Pat McClendon, Terry Glick, Janey Baker and Brenda Athmer , all of Dixon, Missouri , and Tim Glick of Rolla Missouri; ten great nieces and eight great nephews and twenty seven great -great nieces and nephews; a sister-in-law, Jenny Glick of Dixon, Missouri and a host of friends and other family members.

Jenny Zirkle age 89 of Greenville, Ohio passed away Thursday May 2, 2013 at Hospice of Dayton. She was born February 5, 1924 in Dayton, Ohio.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Jack Zirkle and her daughter Dawn Armstrong, both of Greenville.

Jenny is survived by her son Charlie (Bonnie) Zirkle of Lebanon, Ohio. Also six grandchildren: Scott (Angie) Armstrong, Ken (Aimee) Armstrong, Mark (Amanda) Armstrong all of Greenville and also Erik Zirkle, Emily Zirkle and Lindsay (Zirkle) Carlson all of Lebanon, Ohio. Eight great grandchildren: Allie, Taylor, Jake and Josh Armstrong, Alexis and Isabella Armstrong, Eli Armstrong and Lydia Carlson. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and friends.

For many years Jenny and her husband Jack owned and operated Zirkle Beauty Salon in Greenville.

Ralph W. Nichols (May 4, 2013)

Ralph W. Nichols, 91, of Greenville, and formerly of New Madison, passed away on May 4, 2013 at the Brethrens Retirement Community. Ralph was born on August 3, 1921 in Wellston, Ohio to the late Thurman and Martha "Mattie" (Byers) Nichols.

Ralph worked at ALCOA for over 30 years. He was also known around Darke County as the ‘Fuller Brush Man’ selling for over 40 years. Ralph was a member of Beechgrove Church of the Brethren and enjoyed singing in the men’s quartet and harmonica band, singing solos, and teaching children in Sunday school. He loved living at the Brethren Retirement Community where he was very active in the bus trips, playing pool and being in the Wii bowling league. Ralph served his country honorably in the United States Army as a Technician 5th grade 727th Military Police Battalion in WWII. His greatest joys were spending time with family.

Ralph is preceded in death by his wife, Emma; two sisters and three brothers.

Left to cherish his memory is a son, David and Elizabeth Nichols of Austin, Texas; two daughters, Patty and Robin Watkins of Brookeville, Ohio and Anita and Justin Small of Greenville; grandchildren, Joe and Gwynne Watkins of Fortville, Indiana, Tara Watkins and fiancé, James Clinger of Tipp City, Ohio, Michael and Sabrina Small of Greenville, Ohio and Heather Small of Marysville, Ohio; great grandchildren, Micah Watkins, Grant Clark, Kayla Clark and Scarlet Clinger, and many friends.

A homemaker, Dawn was a member of the Union City Eagles.

In addition to her father, she is survived by her husband of 34 years, Randy Ragon, whom she married August 2, 1978; a son, Chester (fiancé, Sametha Cain) Ragon of Winchester, IN; daughters, Katrina McDavid of Lima and April Combs of Celina; numerous grandchildren; and a sister, Miriam Taylor of Naples, FL.

She is survived by her children, Jesse Burke of London, Ohio, Michael & Lauri Gerlach of Sayner, Wisconsin, Karen (Harry Bogan) Barhorst of Greenville and Angie & Jay Harmeson of Greenville; grandchildren, James, David, Mike, Steve, and Danny Burke, Erich and Doug Gerlach, Michaela Barhorst, Nick Howard, Mahala Howard and Jacqueline Altizer; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her first husband, Leo Mock on August 19, 1945; second husband, Anthony M. Gerlach on May 3, 1976 whom she married on April 2, 1949; son, Jerome Gerlach; brothers, Robert and James Geyer; and sisters, Mary Howard and Pauline Jennings.

Margaret was a homemaker and a former member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and Rosary Altar Society. She loved dogs, cats and watching the news. She was dedicated to her family and was a very kind souled person.

There will be a graveside service held on Thursday, May 9, 2013 at 11:30 AM at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Greenville, Ohio, with Pastor Sylvia McKibben officiating. There will be no public visitation. Arrangements are under the direction of Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio.

She was a member of Fort Jefferson Methodist Church, Fort Black Order of Eastern Star, she served as Deputy Grand Matron of Ohio; she volunteered at Wayne Hospital; she was a member of the Nifty Neave Homemakers Club, Alpha Delta Omega Sorority of Greenville; she was an avid card player and she graduated from Greenville High School in 1935.

She is preceded in death by her parents; Husband: James A. Mikesell whom she married May 3, 1942; Son: Thomas E. Mikesell; Brothers: Andrew & Glen Hepner; Sisters: Lourena Oldham & Abbie Corzact.

William H. “Bill” Harman, age 87, of Versailles, Ohio, passed away on Saturday May 4, 2013 at 2:19 PM at Wayne HealthCare Center in Greenville, Ohio. He was born on June 3, 1925 in Darke County, Ohio, to the late John E. & Myrtle A. (Day) Harman.

Bill is survived by his daughters and son in law, Joan Gigandet and Jean & Jerome Hartzell both of Versailles; grandchildren, Tammy (Dan) Drees, Keith (Deb) Hartzell, Denise (Tim) Shimp, Bonnie (Marion) Grillot, Brad Gigandet, Jessica (Jonathan) Gallaway and Allissa (Robert) Caudell; 13 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; brother, John Harman of Versailles; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his first wife, Bonnie Harman; second wife, Jean Harman; son, Rev. Allan Harman; son in law, Jerry Gigandet; brothers, Carl and Otis Harman; sister, Lois Sigritz.

Bill was a State Inspector for the Agriculture Department for 32 ½ years retiring in 1977. He also worked at the Versailles Oil and Gas from 1960-1996. He was a member of the United States Army Air Corp serving in WWII. Also a member of the Versailles Christian Church where he served as Deacon, usher, trustee, memorial committee and sang in the choir. 44 years on the Versailles Fire Department where he served as secretary for 30 years and 16 years as treasurer of the Darke County Fire Department Association. A member of the Versailles Masonic Lodge #290 and served as Worshipful Master, twice. A 32nd Degree Mason of the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Dayton. Was a member of the Versailles Chapter Order of Eastern Star. Past Grand Marshall of the Versailles Poultry Days Parade, President of Versailles Housing Board for 2 years serving on the Housing Board committee for the Senior Citizens, 58 years on the Versailles football chain crew and 4 years as an announcer, blood donor who has donated a total of 97 pints, Boy Scout Master for 1 year, received the Community Service Award from the Masons on March 15, 2002 and Citizen of the Year Award from Versailles Chamber of Commerce on January 28, 2002. He loved golfing, movies, dancing, and playing cards belong to 2 card clubs.

There will be a service held on Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at 10:30 AM at Versailles Christian Church, 105 West Ward Street, Versailles, Ohio, with Pastor Dennis Wheeler officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenlawn Cemetery where there will be a Graveside Military service conducted by the Versailles Veterans Honor Guard. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 7, 2013 from 2-8 PM at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home, Versailles, Ohio, as well as one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. A Masonic Memorial Service will be conducted by the Versailles Masonic Lodge and a Scottish Rite Ring Service will be held on Tuesday evening starting at 7:45 PM at the funeral home.

Bob J. Cromer (May 3, 2013)

Bob J. Cromer, age 79, of Arcanum, Ohio, passed away on Friday, May 3, 2013 at 9:08 PM at Wayne HealthCare Center in Greenville, Ohio. He was born on May 20, 1933 in Bison, West Virginia to the late Dewey and Della (Akers) Cromer.

Bob is survived by his son and daughter in law, John M. & Donna M. O’Brien of Greenville; daughter Bobbie Sue; grandchildren, Leah Eckstein of Ashland, Ohio and Jordan (Lydia) O’Brien of Arcanum, Ohio; and soon to be great granddaughter, Jocelyn O’Brien.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife Marion A. Cromer whom he married on May 16, 1965; daughter Sherry Lynn; and all his brothers and sisters.

Bob worked for the City Transit in Dayton before retiring from Chrysler. He was a member of the United States Army serving in the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Jehovah’s Witnesses and loved hunting, fishing and playing the guitar.

There will be a service held on Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio, with Brother Robert Fraley officiating. Burial will follow in the Newcomer Cemetery, Darke County, Ohio. Family will receive friends on Tuesday from 12-2 PM at the funeral home.

Lavonna M. Pitsenbarger (May 3, 2013)

Lavonna M. Pitsenbarger, 53, of New Weston, passed away Friday evening, May 3, 2013, at 6:10 p.m., at the Rest Haven Nursing Home in Greenville.

She was born March 10, 1960, in St. Mary's, daughter of the late Robert and Margory (Wycuff) Draper.

Lavonna was a member of the Word of Life Worship Center near Union City. She had served as the post mistress in New Weston as well as serving on the New Weston Community Improvement Committee.

She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Clarence W. "Bill" Pitsenbarger; children, Robert "Billy" Pitsenbarger of New Weston, Holly Marie Markland of Union City, OH; 6 step daughters; 3 step sons; brothers and sisters, John Draper of St. Mary's, Jake Draper of New Weston, Joe Wycuff of Wapakoneta, Mike (Deb) Wycuff of Spencerville, and Lucy McMurray of New Weston, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 6 p.m., Tuesday, May 7, at the Word of Life Worship Center, 1395 Ellis Road, Union City, OH, with Pastors George Hughes and Larry Hall officiating.

The family will receive friends at the church, Tuesday, from 4-6 p.m. Memorial contributions may be given to help defray final expenses.

Services have been entrusted with the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville.
