Neva is survived by her children, Beverly Lees of Greenville, Gerald & Patty Onkst of Greenville, Robert Onkst of Indianapolis, Indiana and Christopher & Linda Onkst of Greenville; grandchildren, Charnell Hough, James Brenner, James Onkst, Julie Deason, Johnny Onkst, Denise Saunders, Tammy Gantt, Rex Edward Onkst, Sandra Onkst Rehmert and Patrick Onkst; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Neva was also preceded in death by a son, James Onkst; daughters-in-law, Marjorie Onkst and Pat Onkst; and a stillborn granddaughter, Teresa Onkst.
Neva retired in 1983 from Wayne hospital in Greenville where she was a nurse’s aide for 25 years. Neva was a member of Trinity Wesleyan Church in Greenville.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville with Rev. Elwood Stuart officiating. Burial will follow in Greenville Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 9:00 to 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Wesleyan Church in Greenville.
