Helen M. Hemmelgarn (March 31, 2015)

Helen M. Hemmelgarn age 88, of Versailles, Ohio passed away at 12:15 A.M. on Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at Village Green Healthcare Center in Greenville. Helen was born July 28, 1926 in Shelby County to the late Clifford C. & Marie F. (Francis) Barga.

Helen is survived by her daughters & sons-in-law, Mary Ann & John F. Simon of Bradford and Rita Marie & Gregg Henschen of Findlay; 6 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Helen was also preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Ernest A. “Ernie” Hemmelgarn on January 14, 2014 whom she married February 1, 1947; and a brother, Delbert Barga.

Helen was a retired hair stylist. She was a member of St. Denis Catholic Church in Versailles.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at St. Denis Catholic Church in Versailles with Rev. Fr. James Simons celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Valbert Cemetery in Versailles. Martha Jane (Crowell) Burns (March 30, 2015)

Martha Jane (Crowell) Burns age 76, of Greenville, Ohio and formerly of Kendallville, Indiana passed away at 5:30 A.M. on Monday, March 30, 2015 at State of the Heart Hospice Care Center in Greenville, Ohio. Martha was born May 16, 1938 in Kendallville, Indiana to the late Porter & Muriel (King) Crowell.

Martha is survived by her husband, Michael F. Burns whom she married August 6, 1976; children, Mark Harper and wife Karen of Pleasant Hill, California; Karen LaPorte of Bonita Springs, Florida, and Sara Herold and husband Andy of Bloomington, Indiana; grandchildren, John Sciscoe of Bloomington, Indiana, Elizabeth Sciscoe of Bloomington, Indiana, Anna Herold of Bloomington, Indiana and Scott Marden of Los Angeles, California; and a sister, Sara Bir of LaGrange, Indiana.

Martha was the former Dean of Health Sciences at Bay de Noc Community College in Escanaba, Michigan. Martha was a member of the Havanese Club of America, Dayton Dog Club and the Greenville Dog Club.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, April 4, 2015 at Lakeview Cemetery in Kendallville, Indiana. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Marianne Butsch (March 28, 2015)

Marianne Butsch, 46 of Greenville, Ohio passed away on Saturday March 28, 2015 at 2:05 PM at the State of the Heart Hospice Care Center at Wayne Hospital after battling Ovarian Cancer. She was born July 27, 1968 in Greenville, Ohio the daughter of Rev. John McRoberts and the late Gloria McRoberts. She was a Barber Stylist and a member of Sharonville United Methodist Church.

She is preceded in death by her mother.

She is survived by her father; her sons: Steven Butsch, James Butsch, Jacob Butsch, John Butsch; daughters: Savannah Butsch, Meredith Butsch, & Mekedes Butsch; brother: Dr. Mark McRoberts; sisters: Cheryl Lykins, Lori Grandy, Jana Myers.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday April 4, 2015 at 11:00 AM at E.U.M. Church 1451 Sater Street, Greenville, Ohio. Ella Mae Freshour (March 29, 2015)

Ella Mae Freshour, 92, of Greenville, passed away Sunday evening, March 29, 2015 at Traditions at Bristol Village in Waverly, Ohio.

She was born February 13, 1923 in Urichsville, OH, daughter of the late Dale James and Marie Estelle (Forbes) Robb. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond E. Freshour on October 1, 2012;

Ella was a homemaker, loved to be around her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.

She is survived by children, Joyce (Carl) Jones of Fairfield, OH, Bonnie (Reese) Williams of Bradford, OH, Faith (Dennis) Miller of Waverly, OH, Roy (Debbie) Freshour of Greenville, OH, Amy (Phillip) Wollebeck of Bradford, OH; 14 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; 10 great great grandchildren

Services will be held at 12 p.m., Thursday, April 2, at the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville with Dennis Miller officiating, Burial will follow in the Palestine Cemetery.

Jean E. Bell (March 27, 2015)

Jean E. Bell, 87, of Greenville, Ohio passed away on Friday March 27, 2015 at 12:30 PM at Heartland of Greenville. She was born September 16, 1927 in Greenville, Ohio, the daughter of the late Clarke and Nelle (Katzenberger) Burner. She was a homemaker, award-winning quilter and quilting teacher.

Jean was a life-long member of the First United Methodist Church and a member of the Town Squares Quilt Club.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Robert E. Bell; son: David Bell, Sisters: Virginia Jessup, Margaret Kester.

She is survived by her children and daughter-in-law: Jim Bell and Maureen Wimmer of Millburn, New Jersey; John Bell of Greenville; honorary daughter Susie Hyatt of Greenville; grandchildren: Melissa, Bobby and Maddy.

Recognized nationally for her expertise in creating miniature quilts, Jean was featured in articles in such publications as Quilting International, Miniature Quilts, Better Homes & Garden Quilting, Ohio Magazine, and Early American Life. Her quilts are in the permanent collections of the Wyckoff House Museum in Brooklyn, NY, and the Garst Museum in Greenville. Private collectors from the U.S., Germany, Japan and Australia commissioned her to create quilts and wall hangings for their collections.

For many years, Jean taught classes and gave programs for quilting clubs, in quilt shops, and privately. She won numerous awards in local and regional competitions in Ohio and Indiana.

Services will be held on Thursday April 2, 2015 at 1:00 PM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio. Burial will follow in Greenville Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Wednesday April 1, 2015 and 1 hour prior to services on Thursday at the funeral home.

Michael L. Meyer, 64 of Greenville, Ohio passed away on Friday March 27, 2015 at 9:48 PM at his residence. He was born February 21, 1951 in Greenville, Ohio the son of the late Louie & Anita (Rismiller) Meyer. He was a machine operator. He was formerly a member of the Moose, Eagles and E.A.A.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Norma L. Jenkins (March 26, 2015)

Norma L. Jenkins, 83, of Greenville, passed away Thursday afternoon, March 26, 2015 at the State of the Heart Hospice Care Center in Greenville.

She was born August 17, 1931 in Greenville, daughter of the late Vernon and Ruth (Hiestand) Glassford,

Norma is survived by her husband of 67 years, Vernon; granddaughters, Mandy and Amber; and numerous great grandchildren.

There will be no services. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to the Cancer Association of Darke County.

Louis E. “Mickey” Mikolic Jr. (March 26, 2015)

Louis E. “Mickey” Mikolic Jr. 79 of Greenville, Ohio passed away on Thursday March 26, 2015 at 12:21 AM at State of the Heart Hospice Care Center. He was born July 30, 1935 in Dayton, Ohio the son of the late Louis E. & Ada E. (Dixon) Mikolic Sr. He served in the United States Navy and worked at General Motors for 16 years and was also a tool and Die maker and he operated Mickeys Signs. He was a member of the V.F.W.; and the Masonic Lodge.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his brothers: Ronald Mikolic, William Mikolic, & John Hufnagle.

He is survived by his wife: Brenda S. (Long) Mikolic of Greenville whom he married April 24, 2000; daughters & sons in law: Jennifer & Cam Woliver of Springboro, Ohio, Lena & Bobby Wright of Greenville; step son: David Condon of Eaton, Ohio; grandchildren: Haley, & Camryn Woliver, Jesse, & Kayla York, Olivia Wright; sister & brother in law: Karen & Patrick Miron of Edgewater, Florida.

Services will be held on Monday March 30, 2015 at 10:30 AM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio. Burial will follow in Greenville Cemetery. Paul E. Hodson (March 25, 2015)

Paul E. Hodson, 72, of Greenville, Ohio, passed, away late Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at State of the Heart Hospice Center in Greenville.

He was born October 21, 1942 In Xenia, Ohio, a son of the late Paul E. and Lillian L. (Garrison) Hodson. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by, a son Blaine; sister, Barbara Estle.

Paul had worked as a firefighter at Wright Patterson Air Force Base, was a veteran of the Navy and a member of Masonic Lodge in Greenville.

He is survived by his wife Connie Louise (Buemi) Hodson; daughters, Tamera Mendenhall and Tisha (Sam) Shepherd of Greenville; grandchildren, Ashley (Chad), Grace, Sierra, Rachel, Paul, Ali, Lilly; great grandchildren, Zebulen and Xyla; a sister, Jonda (Bob) Palmer of Xenia; a brother, John Hodson of Xenia; and several nieces and nephews.

Services with a Masonic Memorial Service will be held at 12 p.m., Monday, March 30, at the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home, 1000 N. Broadway, Greenville, OH with Pastor Jimmy Haning officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenville Cemetery.

Larry A. Bryson (March 21, 2015)

Larry A. Bryson, 64, of Ansonia, Ohio, passed away, Saturday, March 21, 2015 at his residence.

He was born March 30, 1949 in Union City, IN, a son of the late Marvin and Martha Mae (Witters) Bryson.

Larry was retired from Conrail as a track foreman, member of American Legion Post 353 and a graduated from Greenville High School.

He is survived by his daughter, Melinda (Jack) Frantz of Covington, OH; step-son, Greg Bryson of Union City, IN; brothers and sisters, Neil (Diane) Bryson of Greenville, Eugene Bryson of Greenville, Deb (Dennis) Newman of Ansonia, Edie Hunt of Greenville, Vicki (Don) Grillot of Yorkshire, Connie Green of Piqua, Janet Mitchum of Columbus; special friends, Dave Fitzgerald and Dick Shook of Ansonia; grand dogs, Lexi and Athena Frantz.

Mary Ellen Duncan (March 23, 2015)

Mary Ellen Duncan, age 90 of Greenville, Ohio and formerly having resided in the Ansonia area most of her life, passed away at 10:50 P.M. Monday March 23, 2015 at Rest Haven Nursing Home Greenville. She was born March 13, 1925 in Liberty Township Darke County Ohio and the daughter of the late Mac and Treva (Baker) Ross.

Mary Ellen was employed for 18 years at the Poultry Producers of Versailles and had worked for 9 years as a Teacher’s Aide at the Mississinawa Valley School. She was also a former member of the Rossburg United Methodist Church and currently a member of First United Methodist Church of Greenville.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter Kay and her brother Donald Ross.

Mary Ellen is survived by her children Stanley (Sandra) Duncan, Larry (Karen) Duncan all of Greenville, Wanda Vetters of Troy, 8 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, brother Wayne Ross of Greenville as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday March 27, 2015 in the First United Methodist Church 202 West Fourth Street Greenville, Ohio with Pastor Angela Meeks officiating. Burial will follow in the Teegarden Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. in the Zechar Bailey Funeral Home Greenville and on Friday 1 hour prior to the services in the church.

Janis Ann (Haworth) Miller (March 18, 2015)

Janis Ann (Haworth) Miller, 84, of Vandalia, Ohio, passed away at her home on Wednesday, March 18, 2015. She was born, July 20, 1930 in Greenville, Ohio, a daughter of the late H. Russell and Ruby O. (O’Dell) Haworth.

In addition to her parents, Janis was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Lowell Miller, on April 29, 2011 and her son, Neal Miller.

Janis graduated from Greenville High School and was a member of the DAV Auxiliary - Chapter 31

She is survived by 3 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Norma J. Barga (March 22, 2015)

Norma J. Barga, age 87, of Versailles, Ohio passed away Sunday, March 22, 2015. Norma was born April 29, 1927 in Greenville, Ohio. She was the daughter of the late Othel Miller and Marie Reed Miller Unger.

Norma was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 68 years Robert J. (Gus) Barga; step-father Howard Unger; sisters-in-law Virginia (Clifford) Harmon and Betty (Lester) Lemkuhl, and brothers-in-law John (Janice) Barga and James (Sadie) Barga. Norma is survived by her children Doug Barga, and Carmen (Jon) Snyder, grandchildren Betsy Snyder (Ryan) Chivington, Katie Barga and Robert Barga, and great grandchildren Eli, Kate, Kylie and Titus Chivington; and sisters-in-law Patricia Beck and Joan Smith, and brothers-in-law Edward (Joyce) Barga and Larry (Sonja) Barga; and special uncle Paul Reed.

A 1946 graduate of Versailles High School, Norma served as Vice-President of the family business, Versailles Oil and Gas Co, retiring in 2008. She was a founding member of Coterie Club, a member of the Versailles Garden Club, and long-time volunteer member of Versailles Emergency Medical Services. Gus and Norma were Poultry Days Honorary Parade Marshals in 2005.

Norma had an absolute zest for life and undeniable spirit, enjoying and excelling at cooking, tennis, golf, bowling, swimming, and bridge, or any activity that she pursued, for that matter. With an adventurous soul, Norma loved to travel; from her yearly holiday shopping excursion to Chicago; to the London stage; to the Palace of Versailles; she embraced new experiences: to dream, to explore, to discover.

A proud, gracious woman of great character, with an enormous heart and kind manner, Norma was deeply loved by her community and family.

But it was her role as wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother that truly defined her. She was the best.

There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at 10:30 AM at St. Denis Catholic Church, Versailles, Ohio, with Rev. Fr. James Simons celebrant. Burial will follow in the St. Valbert Catholic Cemetery Versailles, Ohio. Family will receive friends on Friday, March 27, 2015 from 4:00-8:00 PM as well as Saturday morning from 9:00-10:00 AM at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home, Versailles, Ohio. Earl Baltes (March 23, 2015)

Earl Baltes, 93, of New Weston, Ohio, passed away, Monday, March 23, 2015 at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton.

He was born April 27, 1921 in Versailles, Ohio, son of the late Leroy and Ellie (Frantz) Baltes. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Nicholas, Ralph, and James Baltes; and sisters, Zelma Ernst, Rita Condon and Bertha Siegrist; and a brother-in-law David Moeller.

Earl was a well-known race promoter for over 50 years having started Eldora Speedway in Rossburg as well as promoted, New Bremen Speedway, Limaland Speedway, Millstream at Findlay, Mansfield Speedway in Mansfield, Dayton Speedway all in Ohio, Pleasant Hill Speedway and Salem Speedway both in Indiana, . He had started some of the highest paying short track races including The World 100, The Kings Royal, The Dream and The Four Crown.

He was inducted into many Hall of Fames, including National Sprint Car, National Dirt Late Model, USAC, Dayton Auto Racing Fans, Hoosier Auto Racing Fans and was named USAC Race Organizer of the Year in 1984 and 1997. He was named Auto Racing Promoter of the Year in 1993 and fellow iconic promoter H.A. “Humpy” Wheeler recognized him with the Charlotte Motor Speedway Promoter of the Year Award in 2001. The state of Ohio named Route 118 “Earl Baltes Highway” from Ansonia to the south to St. Henry to the north.

Earl's other passion was music. He had his own orchestra, The Earl Baltes Orchestra. He had owned several nightclubs including, Crystal Ballroom (with Leroy and Ellie), Eldora Ballroom, Bar E Club, and Shady Park in Celina, and had played at Wintergarden Nightclub in Piqua, St. Henry Nightclub and St. Anthony. He also played several other weddings and events.

Earl was a veteran of US Army having served in the 21st ORD MM CO during WWII. He was a member of the St. Bernard Catholic Church in Burkettsville. He was a member of Greenville Elk's, Celina Moose, American Legion, VFW and Eagles.

Earl is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 67 years, Berneice (Moeller) Baltes, whom he married April 26, 1947; his daughter, Starr (Joe) Schmitmeyer, and his son, Terry (Dee) Baltes; grandchildren, Chad, Tess, Joey, Josh, Kate, Tish; 13 great grandchildren; sister, Susie Barga; brother-in-law, Norman Moeller; sister-in-law, Jeanette Fullenkamp; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30, Saturday, March 28 at the St. Bernard Catholic Church in Burkettsville with Father Tom Hemm celebrating. Burial with full military honors will follow in the St. Bernard Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home, 1000 N. Broadway St., Greenville, OH on Friday, March 27, from 2 PM to 8 PM. and again Saturday from 9 a.m. till 9:45 a.m.

Mary Lee Nixon age 98, of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 1:45 P.M. on Sunday, March 22, 2015 at Heartland of Greenville. Mary Lee was born July 14, 1916 in Darke County, Ohio to the late William H. & Edna (Barnhart) Weaver.

Mary Lee is survived by children, Linda Lee Braun of Greenville, Ohio and Robert V. & Joan Nixon of Greenville, Ohio; grandchildren, Mike Braun & Karen Price, Larry Braun & Manzy Baker, Terri & Mike Pigman, Steve R. Nixon, Shelley & Mark Ferrell, Anne & Walt Kiser, Tammi Werts and Joe Braun & Nancy Wellbaum; 15 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Mary Lee was also preceded in death by her husband, Walter E. Nixon whom she married August 8, 1936; son, Larry Nixon; grandson, Tom Braun; brothers, Laylin Weaver and Nolan Weaver; and sister, Zelda Arthur.

Mary Lee was a homemaker. She loved to fish and hunt mushrooms.

Ronnie "Snake" Burdette Drew (March 20, 2015)

Ronnie "Snake" Burdette Drew, 72, of New Madison, Ohio, passed away on March 20, 2015 at his residence. Ron was born on August 16, 1942 in Richmond, Indiana to the late Ralph and Jean (Williams) Drew.

Ronnie was a big fan of John Force racing, going to drag races and collected all things die cast from his racing. He loved playing cards, going to flea markets, and most of all spending time with family. He was a 1961 graduate of New Madison High School. Ronnie worked as a foreman at Wayne Corporarion for 29 years, and FRAM for 10 years.

In addition to his parents, Ronnie is preceded in death by a brother, Steve Drew and a sister, Sherri McClellan.

Ronnie is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Joy (Eyer) Drew; sons, John (Renee) Drew and Jason (Bonnie) Drew; four grandchildren, Decia (Josh) Mertz, Desiree Wenrick, Destiny Drew and Michael Flatter; two sisters, Marsha Spurrier and Shirley (Ernst) Spurrier; four great grandchildren, Logan, Lexie and Connor Mertz and Angel Flatter, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Myron Reece Whitted, age 73, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away Saturday, March 21, 2015 at 4:35 AM at Heartland of Greenville, Greenville, Ohio. He was born on September 22, 1941 in Muncie, Indiana, to the late Frank & Treva (Duncan) Whitted.

He is survived by his wife, Bonnie (Alberson) Whitted of Greenville, Ohio, whom he married in 1962; sons and daughters in law, Jeffrey & Lee Ann Billups Sr. of Greenville, Roger Billups of Versailles and Samantha Billups of Greenville; daughters, Cynthia Whitted and Jalea Stewart; grandchildren, Joellen Yost, Coral Crowell, Elizabeth Whitley, Jeffrey Billups Jr., Paul Stewart and Martin Stewart; great grandchildren, Shannon Yost, Jason Yost Jr., Link Tedore and Lovey Crowell; brothers, Byron, Gary and Roger Whitted; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

G. Pauline Krick, age 95, of Greenville, Ohio, and formerly of New Madison, Ohio, passed away on Friday, March 20, 2015 at 1:46 PM at her residence. She was born on March 9, 1920 in Darke County, Ohio, to the late John D. & Gladys E. (Ary) Smith.

She is survived by her son, Dr. Ken L. Krick and wife Linda of Caryville, TN; brother, Royce Smith of Versailles and several dear nieces and nephews. The family would like to express their deepest appreciate to all of Pauline’s caregivers throughout the years , Charles & Shirley Lavey, Alpha Howard and April Baker.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Chalmer F. “Chub” Krick whom she was married on February 8, 1941; brothers, Berman & Charles Smith, twin brother, Paul Smith; and sisters, Edith Beisner and Elsie James.

Pauline worked as the secretary to the superintendent at Tri-Village Schools for 24 years retiring in 1980. She was a member of the Ft. Jefferson United Methodist Church and was the secretary for the Schools Employee Retirement Club.

There will be a service held on Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio, with Pastor Doug Baker officiating. Virginia Bernice (Turner) Gilmore, age 94, of Versailles, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at 6:15 PM at Good Samaritan Hospital, Dayton, Ohio. She was born on September 30, 1920 in Darke County, Ohio, to the late Balinger B. & Grace Ethel (Grey) Turner.

She is survived by her son and daughter in law, David & Connie Gilmore of Rossburg, Ohio; daughter and son in law, Ann & Dave Eilerman of Tipp City, Ohio; grandchildren, Marcie (Jason) Stammen, Jennifer (Dale) Keiser, Ben (Heidi) Gilmore, Gayle Gilmore, Todd (Kristi) Eilerman, Kristy (Mike) Hein and Jodie Eilerman; 20 great grandchildren; siblings and their spouses, Dorothy Boyd of Greenville, Junior & Phyllis Turner of Ansonia, Norma Rammell of Greenville and Robert & Nadine Turner of Rossburg; sister in law, Janet Turner of Greenville; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, James A. Gilmore whom she married on September 28, 1940; brothers, Russell and Wayne Turner; sisters, Anna Mary Taylor, Ruth Schaar, Alta Peters, Alice Wentworth, Mildred Hocker and June Wentworth.

Virginia was a member of the Rossburg United Methodist Church and Eagles Lodge in Greenville. She was a homemaker and was known as the Grandma Cookie and Grandma Jada.

There will be a service held on Monday, March 23, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Rossburg United Methodist Church, Rossburg, Ohio, with Pastor Mitch Arnold officiating. Burial will follow in the Brock Cemetery, Brock, Ohio. Teresa Davies-Zimmerman passed away peacefully at home on March 12th 2015. She leaves behind her husband James Andrew Zimmerman and children Jennica Johns, Patrick Joseph Johns, and 2 step children Tyler and Grace Zimmerman whom she loved as her own, her brother Gordon Davies, her mother Joanne Davies, step-father Brian Bland, and father and mother in-law Jim and Nancy Zimmerman. She also leaves behind her beloved dogs Sadie, Sammy, and Buddy. She was preceded in death by her father Allan Howard Davies. We love her so much and will miss her smile, happy-crying episodes, fun loving nature, and sense of humor. She was a strong willed, fiery, smart, and loving person who had a soft spot for all dogs. We love you, we are thankful for all that you did for us while you were on this earth, and we will miss you always.

Frieda H. (Riegel) Martin, age 93 of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 5:20 A.M. Wednesday March 18, 2015 at the Oakley Place of Greenville. Frieda was born August 17, 1921 in Pleasant Hill, Ohio and the daughter of the late Frank and Clara May (Shaffer) Brown.

She was retired from Dayton Power & Light Company where she had been employed for 25 years.

Frieda was a member of the St. Paul Episcopal Church of Greenville, a 25 year volunteer at Wayne Healthcare Center and a member of the Fort Black Order of the Eastern Star.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband Ersel W. Riegel in 1970; second husband Dan Martin in 1985 and 5 brothers and sisters.

Frieda is survived by her children William (Peggy) Riegel of Springboro and Tammy (Kenny) Gross of Greenville as well as numerous grandchildren, step grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was born December 25, 1921 in Greenville, Ohio, daughter of the late Harry and Kathleen (Gasell) Minnich. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, John McClanahan; sons, C. Scott and Steve Seibert; grandson, Jonathan Armstrong.

Marilynne was retired from Dayco. She graduated from Greenville High School class of 1939 and a member of 1 st Presbyterian Church in Greenville.

She is survived by her daughters, Charilynne Armstrong of Gig Harbor, WA and Susan Anderson-Seibert of CA; grandchildren, Kim Seibert, Doug Seibert, Dave Seibert, Dan Seibert, Donnie Seibert, Steve Armstrong, Andrew Anderson; and great grandchildren.

Roger Warrick (March 11, 2015)

Roger Warrick, 93, of rural Greenville, passed away Wednesday, March 11, 2015 in Greenville.

He was born December 2. 1921 in Darke County, Ohio, son of the late Ira C. and Olive (Baughman) Warrick. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 74 years, Mamie (Kerns) Warrick on May 1, 2014; infant daughter, Renee; son, Jeffrey; sister and brother in law, Florence and Robert Rowe; and a sister in law, Rosalie Warrick.

Roger was a grain and Jersey Dairy farmer his whole life. He was a member of Beamsville Christian Church, served as a Brown Township Trustee for 37 years, and was the first president of the Ansonia FFA. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing with Don, Dick and others. He was very active in Boy Scouts and very supportive of several environmental organizations.

He is survived by his children, Rockney (Sandra) Warrick and Ronda Warrick Miley both of rural Versailles; 4 grandchildren, Jennifer (John) Schatz, Lance Warrick, Jessica Warrick and Nathan (Erin) Miley; 6 great grandchildren; a brother, Harvey Warrick of Michigan; and special friends, Dan and Michelle Young and family.

A Memorial services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, March 21 at the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville with Pastor Todd Reisch officiating.

Family will receive friends at the funeral home on March 21st from 1:30 p.m. till time of services. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be given to the charity of the donor’s choice.

Robert “Bob” Grogean age 76, of Versailles, Ohio passed away at 5:00 A.M. on Friday, March 13, 2015 at his residence. Bob was born September 2, 1938 in Dayton, Ohio to the late Walter & Esther (Subler) Grogean.

Bob is survived by his wife, Mary (Meyers) Grogean whom he married November 24, 1960; daughters & son-in-law, Michelle & Mark Dapore of Mason, Ohio and Amy Grogean of Greenville, Ohio; grandchildren, Alex Dapore, Corey Dapore and Marissa Dapore; great-grandchild, Wyatt Dapore; sister & brother-in-law, Patricia & Paul Francis of Versailles, Ohio; sister-in-law, Helen Grogean of Versailles, Ohio; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Bob served in the U.S. Marine Corps. Bob was a welder and machinist at various tool shops. He was a member of St. Denis Catholic Church, Versailles Vets Club and the Versailles Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #2347.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at St. Denis Catholic Church in Versailles with Rev. Fr. James Simons celebrant. Cecile M. (Hart) Beam (March 14, 2015)

Cecile M. (Hart) Beam age 95, of Greenville, Ohio went to be with the Lord at 6:50 P.M. on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at Village Green Healthcare Center in Greenville. Cecile was born May 4, 1919 in Darke County to the late John W. & Catherine (Tilton) Hart.

Cecile was a 1937 graduate of Greenville High School. She was employed many years at the Greenville, Ohio and Union City, Indiana Telephone Companies as cashier, operator and supervisor. She was a 4-H Club advisor for the Jackson Friendship 4-H Club, election board poll worker for many years in Washington Township, and a Weekday Christian Education teacher at various Darke County schools. Cecile loved her church activities, especially working with youth as a teacher and Bible School director. She was a member of the Trinity Wesleyan Church in Greenville.

Cecile married Robert H. Beam on December 17, 1939; they were blessed to celebrate their 50th Wedding Anniversary in 1989.

Cecile is survived by her son, Jon E. (Roberta) Beam of Englewood, Ohio; son-in-law, Earl J. Kriegbaum of Greenville, Ohio; grandchildren, Jonelle Beam of Vandalia, Ohio, David (Melissa) Beam of St. Louis, Missouri, Marcy (Ron) Wackler of Troy, Ohio and Megan Kriegbaum of Piqua, Ohio; and great-grandchildren, Mathew, Rachel and Abigail Scorsone, Ashley and Tyler Beam and Travis, Curtis and Autumn Joy Wackler.

Cecile was preceded in death by her parents; husband in 1990; daughter, Joy J. Kriegbaum in 2003; half-brothers, Floyd S. Good, Alonzo Good and Paul Hart; half-sister, Lydia Good Brookhart; and nieces and nephews.

Robert Joseph (Gus) Barga (March 9, 2015)

Robert Joseph (Gus) Barga, age 90, of Versailles, Ohio passed away Monday, March 9, 2015. Gus was born July 5, 1924 in Detroit, Michigan. He was preceded in death by his parents John L. (Lenora Goubeaux) Barga; brothers John (Janice) Barga and James (Sadie) Barga, sisters Virginia (Clifford) Harmon and Betty (Lester) Lemkuhl. Gus is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Norma, and their children Doug Barga and Carmen (Jon) Snyder, grandchildren Betsy Snyder (Ryan) Chivington, Katie Barga and Robert Barga, and great grandchildren Eli, Kate, Kylie and Titus Chivington; and sisters Patricia Beck and Joan Smith and brothers Edward (Joyce) Barga and Larry (Sonja) Barga.

Gus was a 1942 graduate of Versailles High School, and served in the US Army Co A 202nd Combat Engineer during World War II. Civically, he was a long-time local volunteer fireman, and member of Knights of Columbus, Lions Club and VFW. Gus and Norma were Poultry Days Honorary Parade Marshals in 2005.

Gus began pumping gas in 1938 while still in high school and eventually purchased the Versailles Oil and Gas Co business from his father in 1957. The business was a full service gas station while also delivering fuel to the surrounding area. His wife Norma served as secretary/treasurer for the business. In October 2008 Gus retired from the business.

Over the years, Gus’s was the local place to chat or get the latest news. Gus held court, told a story or two, dispensed nicknames, and monitored the language patrol; many a young man and woman were the beneficiaries of “Gus’s Wisdom”. Gus Barga and his service station were very much a part of growing up in Versailles.

There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at 10:30 AM at St. Denis Catholic Church, Versailles, Ohio, with Rev. Fr. James Simons celebrant. Burial will follow in the St. Valbert Catholic Cemetery Versailles, Ohio, with military honors conducted by Versailles Veterans Honor Guard. Family will receive friends on Friday, March 13, 2015 from 4:00-8:00 PM as well as Saturday morning from 9:00-10:00 AM at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home, Versailles, Ohio. Owen David James Nicodemus, 9 months and 4 days old, passed away unexpectedly on March 7, 2015. Owen was born on June 3, 2014 in Troy, Ohio to Austin Nicodemus and Victoria Adams.

Owen was a very happy baby that could not take his eyes off of his mommy. He loved playing with his sisters, bouncing in his bouncy seat, walking around in his walker, and he loved eating.

Julia E. Setser, 86, of Greenville, Ohio passed away Saturday, March 7, 2015 at Heartland of Greenville.

She was born March 16, 1928 in Knox County, KY, daughter of the late of the late Lee and Josephine (Dash) Barton. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Mance Cleveland Setser; daughter, Irene Setser; son, Wayne Setser; grandchildren, Katina Setser and Julia Spurlock.

Julia was a homemaker, loved sewing and making quilts.

Sandra Hemmelgarn (March 8, 2015)

Sandra Hemmelgarn, 60, of Greenville, Ohio passed away Sunday, March 8, 2015 at Cleveland Clinic after a courageous battles with breast cancer.

She was born October 19, 1954 in Greenville, OH, daughter of the late Eugene and Dorothy (Oswalt) Ewing.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a daughter, Bridget Marie Kenworthy; brothers, Myron Ewing and Jack Ewing.

Sandy was a homemaker and had worked at Whirlpool.  She was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Greenville.

She is survived by her husband, Edward Hemmelgarn, whom she married March 12, 1988; her children, Brittany Hemmelgarn and Brickton Ginger; grandchildren, Katelyn Kenworthy, Tera Nixon, Mikala and Peyton Ginger; brothers and sisters, Terry Ewing of Mt. Summit, IN, Roger Ewing of Arcanum, Nancy Forry of Champersburg, PA , Melvin Ewing of Arcanum, Bev Bowman of Greenville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian burial  will be held at 10:30 AM, Thursday, March 12  at St Mary's Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. John White celebrating.  Burial will follow in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Oliver Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville, Wednesday from  2 PM to 4 PM and 6 PM to 8 PM with a prayer service being offer at 1:45 PM.  The family request that memorials be given to the charity of the donor's choice for breast cancer.

James D. Thobe, 53, of Gettysburg, Ohio, passed away on March 4, 2015 at Wayne Hospital. James was born on August 5, 1961 in Muncie, Indiana to the late Francis Leo and Virginia Faye(Shinkle) Thobe.

Doyle L. Mills, 93 of Greenville, Ohio passed away on Tuesday March 3, 2015 at 10:58 PM at Reid Hospital, Richmond, Indiana. He was born August 6, 1921 in Coletown, Ohio the son of the late Ralph & Inez (Riegle) Mills. Doyle was a Chief Petty Officer in the United State Navy during World War II. He worked at Hobart Manufacturing for 20 years and retired from Midmark Corp in Versailles. He attended the First United Methodist Church; was a member of The Greenville V.F.W.; & the American Legion; he loved stock car racing and sprint car racing and worked as a pit steward at Eldora Speedway; he loved wildlife, was an animal lover and loved fishing, traveling and his grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his 1st Wife: Marlene Mills on January 1, 1997; 2nd wife: Lavonne “Wetzel” Good; his granddaughter: Lori Alexander; & brothers: Raymond, Forest, & Bernard Mills.

He is survived by his children & spouses: Scott & Janice Mills of Greenville, Vicki & John Serna of Franklin, Indiana; stepchildren & spouses: Douglas A. & Annette Wetzel of Owensboro, Kentucky, Michael R. & Bonnie Good of Greenville, Melinda L. Ilene Marie Hemmerich, age 94, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at 9:40 PM at Wayne HealthCare, Greenville, Ohio. She was born on February 16, 1921 in Darke County, Ohio, to the late August & Augusta (Hupe) Rismiller.

Ilene is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Hemmerich whom she married on January 11, 1947; brothers, Albert, Earnest and Robert Rismiller; sisters, Esther Applegate, Sophia Ehlers, Clara Harter and Regina Applegate.

Ilene was a homemaker and a member of St. John Lutheran Church and the Annie Oakley Camping Club. She loved and was active at the Brethren Retirement Communities activities including, Wii bowling, puzzles and bingo. She also helped with arranging the weekly menu’s for the residence.

There will be a service held on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio, with Pastor Todd Reish officiating. Burial will follow in the St. John Lutheran Church Cemetery, Greenville, Ohio. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

He loved camping, fishing, bowling, playing cards with the kids and garage saling.

Virginia M. Pittsenbarger age 86, of Versailles, Ohio passed away at 4:22 A.M. on Monday, March 2, 2015 at Wayne HealthCare in Greenville. Virginia was born October 20, 1928 in Versailles, Ohio to the late Milo & Gladys (Peterseim) Collins.

Virginia is survived by her husband of 66 years, Wayne E. Pittsenbarger whom she married December 18, 1948; children, Rebecca & Rick Utz of Fairfield Glade, Tennessee and Douglas & Valarie Pittsenbarger of Dublin, Ohio; grandchildren, Tracy & Rob Hoffman, Derik & Beth Utz, Matthew & Michelle Pittsenbarger and Zachary Pittsenbarger; 11 great-grandchildren; brother, Eddie Collins of Versailles, Ohio; sister-in-law, Delilah Pittsenbarger of St. Marys, Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Virginia was also preceded in death by her sister, Evelyn Nixon; brothers-in-law, Richard Pittsenbarger and William Nixon; and sisters-in-law, Phyllis Collins and Pat Pittsenbarger.

Virginia was a school cook and head cook for Versailles Elementary School. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Versailles.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, March 5, 2015 at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home in Versailles with Rev. Robert Akins officiating. She was a homemaker and a member of St. John Lutheran Church; the Evangelical Lutheran Church Women; and the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband: John E. Engelken on July 6, 1984 whom she married September 20, 1946; her daughter: Teresa Staab; Brother: Elva Rismiller; sisters: Norma Campbell, & Frieda Hartzell.

She is survived by her daughter: Melissa Cremeans of Kettering; grandchildren: Lance Martin, Candy Sanders, Julie Freeman, & D.J. James A. “Jim” Cox (March 1, 2015)

James A. “Jim” Cox, 53, of Rossburg, passed away unexpectedly, Sunday afternoon, March 1, 2015 at his residence.

He was born April 23, 1961 in Union City, IN, son of the late Harry and Pearl (Lambert) Cox. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Grace Lynne Thornhill; and his father in law, Robert Michael.

Jim worked in the maintenance department at RAMCO Rotor since 2003. Prior to that he had worked at the former Corning in Greenville in the batch house.

He was also a farmer and loved spending time with his grandkids and attending their sporting events.

He is survived by Sandra Thornhill and their daughter, Jamie M. Cox; step children, Chad (Nicky) Thornhill, Shaun (Missy) Thornhill, Josh (Sara) Thornhill, and Georgette K. Thornhill; grandchildren, Tyler, Alia, Nathan, Madison, Tristan, JossLynne, and Colton Thornhill, Tiona and Dez Thompson; and his mother in law, Imogene Michael.

Services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, March 6, at the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville. Burial will follow in the Lisbon Cemetery near Union City, IN.

Chris Pinney, age 83, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at 8:11 AM at her residence. She was born on December 29, 1931 in Somerset, KY, to the late Ira J. Barron and Florence Myrtle (Nelson) Denney Barron.

She is survived by her very significant other, Hubert Cromwell of Arcanum, Ohio; daughters, Jacklyn (Merritt) Gallihugh of Virginia and Joy (Merritt) Krystosek and husband Philip of Virginia; grandsons, Justin, Joshua and Jacob Webb and their 10 children; sisters and brother in law, Ruth Poynter of Indianapolis, IN, Zelma Landess of West Chester, IN, and Arta & John Prescott of Saratoga, IN; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, J.C. Pinney and brothers, Orville Denney, Clinton Denney, Dennis Barron and Clyde Denney.

Chris was a member of the Arcanum Baptist Church and attended West Manchester United Methodist Church. She was affiliated with the Republican Women’s and loved jewelry, flowers, decorating and was a very tasteful and snappy dresser. She was a very generous person as she loved to give gifts and send random cards to her family and friends. She worked at NCR in Dayton as well as Fram in Greenville.

There will be a service held on Thursday, March 5, 2015 at 10:30 AM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio, with Pastor Terry Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in the Weimer Cemetery, Saratoga, Indiana. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 4, 2015 from 5-7 PM at the funeral home.

She is survived by her sons and daughters in law, Ronald & Judy Hoelscher of Bradford, Ohio, Roger & Rebecca Hoelscher of Medina, Ohio, and Richard & Rosie Hoelscher of Piqua, Ohio; daughter and son in law, Bonnie & Jerry Bey of Versailles; grandchildren, Ron Hoelscher Jr., Lorrie Hoelscher, Michelle Enis, Cindy Hoelscher-Fair, Jerome Bey III, Albert Bey, Lisa Bey-Heid, Sandy Bey-Buynak, Benjamin Bey, Antony Bey, Traci Shaffer, Bryce Shaffer, Albert Hoelscher, Joe Hoelscher, Julie Hoelscher, Becca Wooley, Julia Burns and Andrew Kruz; 47 great grandchildren; brother and sister in law, Lester & Eileen Poeppelman of Minster, Ohio; sisters and brother in law, Esther Hoelscher of Newport, Ohio, Genevieve Voisard of Russia, Ohio, and Edna & Cliff Wise of Minster, Ohio; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Ruth is a member of St. Denis Catholic Church, Daughters of Isabella, Eagles Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary and loved spending time with her grandchildren. She worked at Argosy in Versailles and then 16 years at Weaver Brothers in Versailles. She was also a cook at Hoppy’s in Versailles before retiring from the Versailles Heath Care Center as a cook.

There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held on Friday, March 6, 2015 at 9:00 AM at St. Denis Catholic Church, Versailles, Ohio, with Rev. Fr. Ron Haft celebrant. Burial will follow in the St. Valbert Catholic Cemetery, Versailles, Ohio. Family will receive friends on Thursday, March 5, 2015 from 4-7 PM as well as Friday morning from 8:00-8:30 AM at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home, Versailles, Ohio.

Wilma Jean Thompson (February 24, 2015)

Wilma Jean Thompson, age 81, of Greenville, Ohio, and formerly of Washington Court House, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at 4:47 PM at her residence. She was born on April 24, 1933 in Waverly, Ohio, to the late William Delbert & Gladys Edna (Smith) Brown.

Wilma was married to Ronald Keith Thompson on May 2, 1954 for 36 years. She is survived by her daughter and son in law, Kris & Matthias Roll of Greenville; grandsons, Jeffrey M. Roll and Andrew Roll who were the highlights of her life along with their golden retriever’s Rex and Tyro. She is also survived by her brother Zach Brown of Washington Court House, Ohio.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her brothers, Bill, Ron and Garry Brown.

She had many good jobs throughout the years with one of her favorites being at Fayette Memorial Hospital in Washington Court House. She had an eye for detail, decorating and her home was always immaculate. She was a true believer in God and there was always an open bible in her house. Although the family knows that she is in a better place she will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

There will be a Celebration of Life service held on Thursday, March 5, 2015 at 6:30 PM at EUM Church, 111 Devor Street, Greenville, Ohio, with Pastor Sylvia McKibben officiating. There will be a private graveside service held at the convenience of the family in the Bloomingburg Cemetery in Bloomingburg, Ohio. Following the service on Thursday there will be a dinner and refreshments served at the church for everyone to enjoy.

Betty Lou (Carr) Howe-Johnson (February 28, 2015)

Betty Lou (Carr) Howe-Johnson, 81, of Greenville, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 28, 2015, at Rest Haven Nursing Home in Greenville.

She was born on August 3, 1933 in Mount Holly, (Burlington County), New Jersey, the daughter of the late Russell and Marie (Metro) Carr. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Paul Howe, Jr.; her second husband, Duane Keith Johnson; and her son, Brian Keith Johnson; a step son, Mark Johnson; and a brother, Forman Metro.

Betty was retired in 1993 from Fram in Greenville, where she had worked for 30 years. She was a member of the Woodington Congregational Christian Church.

Betty loved spending time with her family and friends, playing cards, camping, and traveling.

She is survived by her children, Rusty Howe of Versailles, Danny Howe and wife Bonnie of Rossburg; and Paul Dean Howe and wife Sheryl of Jacksonville, FL; a daughter in law, Angela Crawford of Oklahoma; Leigh Ann and husband Greg Morris; a daughter in law, Cheryl Johnson of Byesville, Ohio and grandchildren, Jeffrey Howe and wife Susan, Chris Howe and wife Sarah, Kevin Howe and wife Betsy, Travis Howe, Katrina Fletcher, Brianna Johnson-Crawford and Fiancé KC Mosley, Nicole and husband Daniel Forbes, Natalie Johnson, Mathew Johnson, Mark Johnson, Christen Morris, and Christi Wilson; and numerous great grandchildren.

She is also survived by sisters in law, Lois Livingston and husband Danny, and Tracy Johnson, both of Union City, OH; and a brothers in law, Cletus Moore of Portland, IN; and Clarence Bowling .

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, March 5 at the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home, Greenville with Pastor Jim Fulton officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenville Cemetery.

Dion M. Helman, age 52, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at 3:20 AM at the State of the Heart Hospice Care Center, Greenville, Ohio. He was born on February 19, 1963 in Troy, Ohio, to Lysle (Cacilia) Helman Sr. of Greenville and Gloria Jean (Richard) Forsythe of Florida.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife of 31 years Julia (Trissell) Helman of Greenville; son and daughter in law, Daniel & Cassidy Helman of Greenville; grandchildren, Carter and Lillian Helman; brother, Lysle Helman Jr. of Ohio; sisters and brothers in law, Crystal & Keith Stinson of Georgia, Marty & Mike Kohlbaker of Missouri, and Michelle Ferguson of Ohio; sister in law, Lori Helman of Ohio; step sisters, Barbara Meister, Ruth Leedom, Donna Sharp, Karen Price, Linda Owens and Nancy Welbaum; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

He is preceded in death by his brother, Darren Helman.
Dion was a true family man. He particularly loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was an avid Harley Davidson rider and Bengals fan. He also loved spending time at Kozy Kamp Ground. Dion was a member of the Moose and Eagles Lodge in Greenville.

She was a Registration Clerk at Wayne Hospital and before that she worked as a Vet Technician/Pet Groomer with her husband at Edgetown Veterinary Clinic. She was a member of Gospel Baptist Church.

Bertha “Bert” Young age 98, of Versailles, Ohio passed away at 3:18 A.M. on Thursday, February 26, 2015 at Versailles Health Care Center. Bert was born February 12, 1917 in Frenchtown, Ohio to the late Leo & Ethel (Simon) McEldowney.

Bert is survived by her brothers & sisters-in-law, Cletus & Pat McEldowney of Arcanum, John & Joyce McEldowney of Versailles and Jerome “Jerry” McEldowney of St. Marys; sisters, Virginia Weyandt of Celina, Thelma Shade of Versailles and Jeannette Monnin of Russia; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Bert was also preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Nolan Young on December 7, 1989 whom she married April 19, 1941; sisters, Winifred Davidson and Katherine McClurg; brothers-in-law, Robert Davidson, Richard McClurg, Bob Weyandt, Francis Shade and Dennis Monnin; and a sister-in-law, Barb McEldowney.

Bert was a homemaker and formerly worked at the Buckeye Overall Factory and Warren Store in Versailles. She was a member of St. Denis Catholic Church in Versailles.

Paul Edward Fleenor age 87, of Versailles, Ohio passed away at 11:25 A.M. on Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at Rest Haven Nursing Home in Greenville. Paul was born June 24, 1927 in Bellbrook, Ohio to the late Hammie & Eva (Gilliam) Fleenor.

Paul is survived by his children, Vickie Witt of Winchester, Indiana, Paula & Dan Varvel of Versailles, Ohio, Paul Fleenor, Jr. of Versailles, Ohio, Sandy DeHart of Greenville, Ohio, Patsy Hart of North Carolina and Kelly & Kenny Hill of St. Marys, Ohio; 17 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren; brothers, Charles Fleenor of Dayton, Ohio and Marvin Fleenor of Dayton, Ohio; sister, Asenatha McConnaughey of Tennessee; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Paul was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary Belle (Steward) Fleenor on February 25, 2014 whom he married February 24, 1951; daughter-in-law, Cindra Fleenor; brother, Carson Fleenor; and sisters, Euna Wallace and Margaret Braun.

Paul was a dairy farmer, truck driver and equipment operator. Paul retired in 1989 after 10 years of service at the Versailles Feed Mill. Paul was an honorary member of the Darke County Horseshoe Club.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home in Versailles with Rev. John Butts officiating. Burial will follow at 1:00 P.M. in Bellbrook Cemetery in Bellbrook, Ohio. The family will receive friends on Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
