Dorsa M. (Rodeheffer) McCullough, 91 of Greenville, Ohio passed away on Wednesday May 27, 2015 at 9:47 PM at Heartland of Greenville. She was born July 26, 1923 in Darke County, Ohio the daughter of the late John & Virgie (Zeller) Rodeheffer. She worked at Lamberts and was a member of the Ansonia American Legion.

Mary Ann Van Vickle (May 28, 2015)

Mary Ann Van Vickle, age 78, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, May 28, 2015 at 1:00 AM at her residence. She was born on July 30, 1936 in Neave Township, Ohio, to the late Ira & Leola (Troutman) Edger.

She is survived by her sons and daughters in law, Joe & Cheryl Van Vickle of Greenville and Jim & Jennifer Van Vickle of Caryville, TN; daughter and son in law, LeAnn & Steve Schlamb of Monroe, OH; grandsons, Zachary and Jessica Van Vickle of Greenville, Patrick Schlamb of Monroe, OH, Nicholas Schlamb of Monroe, OH, and Connor Van Vickle of Caryville, TN; best friend, Sudz; sister in law, Susan Weisenbarger; 2 nephews; as well as her extended family and special friends.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Ron E. Van Vickle and sister, Carol Landis.

Mary Ann was a member of the Fort Black Order of the Eastern Star. She was a graduate of Westmount High School and retired from the Ohio State Highway Patrol as a driver’s licenses examiner. She enjoyed camping, gardening, being outdoors and most of all being with her family and friends. She had a love for all animals especially horses.

There will be a memorial service held on Saturday, June 6, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio, with Rev. Joel Harbarger officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenmound Cemetery, New Madison, Ohio. Family will receive friends on Saturday from 12-2 PM at the funeral home.

Donald D. Fritz, age 81 of Greenville, Ohio passed away Wednesday May 27, 2015 at his residence. He was born April 30, 1934 at Versailles, Ohio to the late David & Clara (Schwierking) Fritz.

He is survived by his son & daughter in law: Kevin & Kim Fritz of Greenville, Ohio; grandson & wife: Matthew & Jody Fritz of Marysville, Ohio; granddaughter: Amanda Fritz of Dayton, Ohio; grandson: Levi McCuiston of Arizona; great grandchildren: Landon & Layla Fritz; brothers & sisters in law: Clifford & Frances Fritz of Bradford, Ohio, David Clarence & Barbara Fritz of Greenville, sisters: Carol Fritz of Piqua, Rita Fritz of Greenville, sisters in law: Avesta Fritz of Union City, Ohio, Judy Fritz of Greenville; many nieces, nephews & in laws from his wife’s family.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his loving wife: Donna Kay (Rhoades) Fritz whom he married October 4, 1958. He attended school in Versailles & North Star; he worked at Union City Body Company and farmed for many years. He loved his family, his church and Gospel Music. He was a faithful member of the Faith Baptist Church, Greenville, Ohio.

Services will be held on Saturday June 6, 2015 at 10:00 AM at Faith Baptist Church 740 E. Russ Road, Greenville, Ohio with Pastor Bill Baker officiating. Burial will follow in Brock Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday June 5, 2015 at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home Greenville, Ohio and ½ hour prior to services on Saturday at the church. Helen A. McEldowney, age 84, of Versailles, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at 12:56 PM at her residence. She was born on May 27, 1931 in Shelby County, Ohio, to the late Michael C. & Agnes (Monnier) Voisard.

She is survived by her husband, Francis McEldowney of Versailles, Ohio, whom she married on November 23, 1950; sons and daughters in law, Mike & Judy McEldowney of Tipp City, Ohio, Phil & Susan McEldowney of Versailles and Doug & Kelly McEldowney of Medina, Ohio; daughters and sons in law, Diane & John Swallow of Greenville and Deb & Rich Baker of Tipp City, Ohio; grandchildren, Betsy (Josh) Kraft, Mykal (Angie) McEldowney, John McEldowney, Jennifer (Adam) Didier, Craig (Nicole) Swallow, Jill Swallow, Krista (Matt) Folkerth, Tricia McEldowney, Joey McEldowney, Michelle Baker and Alex Baker; 9 great grandchildren, brother, Cyril Voisard of Versailles; sister, Rose Henry of Versailles; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her brothers, Jim, John, Robert and Carl Voisard and sister, Florence Smith.

Helen was a member of St. Denis Catholic Church and Daughters of Isabella. She retired in 1997 after working in the Versailles School cafeteria for 16 years. She enjoyed crocheting, fishing, collecting bears, cooking and playing cards.

There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held on Monday, June 1, 2015 at 10:30 AM at St. Denis Catholic Church, Versailles, Ohio, with Rev. Fr. Ron Haft celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Valbert Cemetery, Versailles, Ohio. Family will receive friends on Sunday, May 31, 2015 from 2-7 PM and Monday from 9-10 AM at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home, Versailles, Ohio.

Dale E. Rismiller (May 26, 2015)

Dale E. Rismiller, age 87 of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 7:50 P.M. Tuesday May 26, 2015 at the Village Green Health Care Center. Dale was born November 12, 1927 in Rossburg, Ohio and the son of the late Adolf and Esther (Strobel) Rismiller.

Dale retired in the late 90’s as the owner of Rismiller & Son Construction Co. building custom homes in the Greenville and Darke County area. He was also a Veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army Air Corp.

He was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church of Greenville, a Charter Member of the Toastmasters, Darke County Chamber of Commerce, the Friendship Force, Greenville Masonic Lodge, the Homebuilders Association, Greenville Kiwanis Club and the Greenville V.F.W. and American Legion.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Lester Rismiller.

Dale is survived by his wife Wanda Lee (Prasuhn) Rismiller of Greenville. They were married November 20, 1948. Also children Carol & Joel Bruss of Greenville, Peggy Rismiller and Mike McKelvey of Pelican Lagoon, Australia, Joyce & Michael Willhite of Bowling Green, Ohio and Edwin Dale Rismiller of Galveston, Texas; grandchildren Doug Doster, Suzanne Rismiller, Sara Rismiller and Marina Rismiller; great grandchildren Lucas and Jackson Doster; brother Wayne (Lori) Rismiller of Florida and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Private Graveside Funeral Service will be held at convenience of the family in the St. John Church Cemetery Greenville, Ohio with Pastor Don Bachman officiating. There will be no visitation.

Daniel Aloysius Kelly (May 24, 2015)

Daniel Aloysius Kelly passed on May 24, 2015 at the age of 90 years plus after a lingering illness.

Dan was born in Shamokin, PA. He lived and raised his family in Cleveland, Ohio, along with his wife Veda Kelly who preceded him in death in 2012.

He is survived by his daughters and their spouses, Colleen and Mike Whittington, Maureen and Tony Vannicola and Kathleen and David Lloyd. In addition Dan is survived by his grandchildren Erin, Kathryn, Brandon and Ashley. He had 5 great-grandchildren.

Dan was a proud WWII Naval Veteran. He served in the Pacific, Atlantic and Asia Theaters as a Seaman First class. Dan moved from Cleveland to Greenville in 1980 and eventually retired from Corning. Dan and Veda were tireless volunteers with Wayne Hospital Auxiliary. Dan worked as a courier for Wayne Hospital until the age of 88 years old. His legacy to his family will always be remembered for hard work and helping others. He will be dearly missed by all whose lives he touched as a beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Friday, May 29, 2015 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Greenville with Rev. Fr. John White celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Greenville with Military Honors conducted by the Greenville Veteran’s Honor Guard. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Zechar Bailey Funeral home in Greenville. Matthew Garber, age 47 departed this life at his residence in Gettysburg, Ohio on Monday May 25, 2015.

Born to Henry and Lois (Bowman) Garber November 30, 1967 in Troy, Ohio.

He had been employed for 23 years at Norcold Inc. of Gettysburg, Ohio

Matthew was preceded in death by his Mother October 30, 2007.

Left to mourn is his father, 3 brothers and 2 sisters. Michael and Bonnie of Bradford, Stephen and Tammy of Greenville, Seth and Maria of Greenville, Julia of Gettysburg, Jane and Gerald Flora of Greenville.

The visitation will be Friday May 29, 2015 from 1:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M. and 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the Painter Creek Old German Baptist Brethren meeting house 2996 Schnorf-Jones Road Arcanum, Ohio.

Services will be held on Saturday May 30, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. at the same location with the Home Brethren officiating. Burial will follow in the Oakland Cemetery beside his parents.

Mark D. Powell (May 23, 2015)

Mark D. Powell, age 61, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, May 23, 2015 at 6:20 PM at State of the Heart Hospice Care Center, Greenville, Ohio, surrounded by his family. He was born on November 23, 1953 in Celina, Ohio, to the late Roger & Martha (Adams) Powell.

He is survived by his wife Judy (Swank) Powell of Greenville, Ohio; children & spouses, Kevin & Anneli Powell of Troy, Ohio, Nickie & Jerold Fourman of Vandalia, Ohio, Ben Powell of Springboro, Ohio, and Dustin Powell of Colorado; and grandchildren, Matthew Powell, Brianna Fourman, Ethen Fourman, Kaylee Powell and Corbin Powell.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his brother, Gary Powell.

He was engaged in farming his whole life. Mark was a wonderful man who loved his friends and family.

There will be a service held on Friday, May 29, 2015 at 10:00 AM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio, with Pastor Kerry Baker officiating. Barbara Josephine Moore (May 21, 2015)

Barbara Josephine Moore, 93, of Oakley Place in Greenville and formerly of New Madison, passed away in the morning of Thursday, May 21, 2015. She was born on May 28, 1921 in Palestine, Ohio to the late Bryan and Lola (Groendyke) Noggle.

Barbara graduated from Palestine School in 1939. She worked for Hobart Brothers and also General Athletics in Greenville. Barbara loved gardening, flowers and especially her cat. Barbara was a member of the Universalist Church in New Madison.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Moore in 1958.

Barbara is survived by her cousin, Wilson Bunger and wife Phyllis, and several other cousins, family and friends.

The family would like to thank the outstanding staff at the Oakley House and State of the Heart Hospice for her care. Also, they would like to thank the Cleveland Public Library for sending books on tape for Barbara to listen to all those years.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Braund Pope Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Venus officiating. Friends and family may visit from 10 - 11 AM prior to the service on Saturday. Burial will follow in the Palestine Cemetery. Fredrick D. “Fred” Condon age 78, of Versailles, Ohio passed away at 8:14 P.M. on Thursday, May 21, 2015 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Dayton. Fred was born October 29, 1936 in West Milton, Ohio to the late Russell E. & Elizabeth (Stocker) Condon.

Fred is survived by his wife of 58 years, Roberta J. (Barga) Condon whom he married April 23, 1957; children, Randy & Kim Condon of Versailles, Steve & Peggy Condon of Versailles, Gary & Teresa Condon of Versailles and Jody & Doug Groff of Versailles; grandchildren, Mindy & Kevin Kissinger, Danielle Condon, Kristin Condon, Mackenzie Condon, Cole Condon, Damon Condon, Summer Condon, Cassidy Condon, Brooke Condon, Joshua Condon, Brandon Groff and Chelsea Groff; great-granddaughters, Mallory York and Danica York; brothers & sisters-in-law, Dick & Angie Condon of Russia and Bob & Becky Condon of Versailles; sister & brother-in-law, Marcia & Chuck Meiring of Houston; sister-in-law, Jenny Condon of Versailles; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Fred served in the Ohio National Guard. Fred was the former owner of Edwin F. Nickol Monuments Inc. in Versailles. Fred was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Frenchtown, Versailles Lions Club, Monument Builders of Ohio and the Versailles Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 2347.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Frenchtown with Rev. Fr. Ron Haft celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Valbert Cemetery in Versailles. Martha E. Gade, 90, of Greenville, passed away Thursday, May 21, 2015 at her residence.

She was born August 3, 1924 in Sidney, Ohio, daughter of the late Harley and Estella (Murphy) Wyer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her 1st husband, Robert Gade; 2nd husband, Roscoe Bowman; grandson, Robbie Gade; brothers, Edward, Ellsworth, Eugene, and Thomas Wyer; and a sister, Geraldine Alice Wilson.

Martha was a LPN having owned and operated Gade Nursing Home in Greenville. She was a member of the Trinity Wesleyan Church and had attended St. Paul Lutheran Church both in Greenville.

She is survived by her children, Arlynn Mahefkey of Centerville, OH, Sharon Haney of Winchester, IN, Robin E. Haney of Richmond, IN, and Tim (Karen) Gade of Greenville; grandchildren, Susan (Cass) Whitehead-Georgia, Thomas ( Misty ) Mahefkey, Kelly (Shane) Stover, Jenny (Vernon) Redd, Christopher Haney, Jordan Haney, Stephen (Samantha) Gade, Taylor (Will) Muir, Sean Gade, Ryan (Paige) Cox, Kaleen Gade; and numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

Services will be held at 4 p.m., Wednesday, May 27, at the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville. Burial will follow in the Greenville Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m.

Ronald G. Rush age 69, of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 11:16 A.M. on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at his residence. Ronald was born September 4, 1945 in Greenville, Ohio to the late Gene & Julia (McCarty) Rush.

Ronald is survived by a daughter & son-in-law, Nicole & Jason Lowder of Greenville; son, Mark Rush of West Virginia; grandchildren, Austin Lowder, Aubree Lowder, Kyle Rush and Christina Lucy; step-daughters, Michele Trissell & Jerry Wright, Julia Helman and Stacey & Jeff Weigandt; step-grandchildren, Jesse Wright, Daniel Helman and Amanda Gibson; and brother, Jim Rush of Florida.

In addition to his parents, Ronald was also preceded in death by his wife, Effie Rush; step-son-in-law, Dion Helman; and brother, Fred Rush.

Ronald served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Ronald retired from Sprint Telephone Company in Greenville and later worked for Greenville City Street Department and NAPA Auto Parts in Greenville. Ronald was an entrepreneur. He was a member of the Greenville V.F.W., American Legion and Fraternal Order of Eagles.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville with Rev. Terry Haworth officiating. Burial will follow in Greenmound Cemetery in New Madison with Military Honors conducted by the Greenville Veteran’s Honor Guard. Charles H. “Charlie” Thomas (May 19, 2015)

Charles H. “Charlie” Thomas, 95 of Greenville, Ohio passed away on Tuesday May 19, 2015 at 9:05 PM at State of the Heart Hospice Care Center.  He was born May 12, 1920 in Darke County, Ohio the son of the late Fred & Mammie (Rehmert) Thomas.  He retired from Manix Brothers in 1988 after 44 years and continued his love of road work with walls Bros. His greatest pastime was fixing everyone’s yard tools. He served in the United States Navy during World War II.

He was a member St. John Lutheran Church of Greenville; 69 year member of the Ansonia Masonic Lodge & Versailles Masonic Lodge; Past Patron of Fort Greenville # 406 Order of eastern Star.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife:  Ferne E. (Flommersfeld) Thomas on February 1, 2010; Son:  Scott Thomas; brother:  Wilbur Thomas; sisters:  Pauline, Marie, & Mary; and 2 nieces & 1 nephew.

In addition to her parents, Alma was also preceded in death by her daughter, Jeanie and son-in-law, Jeff Hawley; brothers, Noah, John and Lawrence Simons; brothers-in-law, William Dues, Alfred Tobe, Joseph Dues, Lois Aselage, Jerry Brandts, Frederick “Barney” Imwalle and Dick Pequignot; and sister-in-law, Gretchen Pequignot.

Alma was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Greenville and the Rosary Alter Society. Alma was a graduate of Versailles High School Class of 1945. She was a homemaker for many years and later retired from Fram Corporation in Greenville. She loved spending time with her family and friends, playing cards, and gardening. Great memories also include going on vacations with family and friends.

Alma is survived by her husband, John Pequignot whom she married December 29, 1951; children, Becky and Bob Empie, Johnny and Dawn Pequignot, Jack and Laura Pequignot, Jeff and Barb Pequignot, Rachel and Kevin Jones, Rhonda and Aaron Dorsten and Kay Pequignot-Davis; grandchildren, Kristyn and husband, Russell Shumway, Rob Empie, Bob and wife, Laura, Dan, Tiffany Hawley, Jenny, Mallory, Joe, John Pequignot, Emily and husband, Todd Clinehens, Jake, Amy Pequignot, Molly, Stephanie, Jason, Aaron Jones, Sam, Gabe, Jessica Dorsten, and Taylor, Alexa Davis; 6 great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Dues, Genevieve Tobe, Lu Dues, Ruth Aselage, Verdice Brandts and Phyllis Imwalle; sisters-in-law, Catherine Simons, Evelyn Simons, Shirley Simons, Margie Sink and Betsy Hilderbrand; brothers-in-law, Bob Pequignot and Bob Sink; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, May 23, 2015 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church 233 West Third Street Greenville with Rev. Fr. John White celebrant. Bettie E. Dowler-Harless, 82, of Greenville, passed away Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at Sterling House of Greenville.

She was born May 8, 1933, in Arcanum, Ohio, daughter of the late Joel Wesley and Susie (White) Wogoman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Richard Dowler; brother, Aaron Wogoman

Bettie had retired from being a designer for Annie's Attic, in Big Sandy, TX and was a care giver for over 10 years for T & D Home Healthcare. She was a former member of the Eastern Star in New Madison and Ansonia Grange.

She is survived by her second husband, Richard Harless; children, Joel (Carolyn)Dowler of New Madison, Terry (Dianna) Dowler of Union City, IN, Michael (Juanita) Dowler of Colorado Spring and Cheryl Jean (Van) Dowler of TX; 14 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; sisters, Mary Alice Godown and Myrtle Cox.

Services will be held 10:30 AM, Wednesday, May 27 at the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville with Pastor Angela Meeks officiating. Burial will follow in the East Zion Cemetery.

Cari L. Boevers, age 49 of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 2:56 P.M. Monday May 18, 2015 at her residence in Greenville. She was born March 1, 1966 in Nowata, Oklahoma and the daughter of Gary and Barbara (Wiggins) Boevers of Greenville.

"Cari Lou was how she was known amongst her closest friends and family. She enjoyed cooking, scrapbooking, reading and writing children's stories, drawing, and her most favorite pastime was using large and grandeurous words not well known among us common folks. Humor and wit were her prevailing characteristics. Cari Lou was loved by all who knew her and will be sorely missed.

In addition to her parents she is survived by sisters Christy McGehee of Greenville and Cassie (Dale) Hayton of Bethany, Oklahoma; brother Gary J. (Joy) Boevers of Greenville; 5 nieces, 12 nephews, 2 aunts and 1 uncle.

Doris E. Royer, 88, of Greenville, passed away, Monday, May 18, 2015 at Rest Haven Nursing Home in Greenville, Ohio.

She was born August 6, 1926, in Darke County, Ohio, a daughter of the late Guy and Della (Fitzgerald) Young. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Alvin Young and a sister, Ina Knick.

Doris was retired from Treaty Company in Greenville where she worked as a file clerk. She was a member of Pitsburg Church of Brethren and a volunteer at the Brethren Home Retirement Community. Doris was an avid artist who enjoyed painting.

She is survived by her children, Gloria Royer of LaCrosse, WI, John (Marsha) Royer of Fort Bragg, CA, Terry (Lisa) Royer of Dayton, OH, Lisa (Norman) Baker of Union City, IN and Tim Royer of Greenville, OH; 4 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; sisters, Louetta Goubeaux of Greenville, Iris (Donald) Ross of Celina, OH; and many beloved nieces, nephews and friends.

Services will be held at 11 AM Saturday, May 23 at the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville with Pastor Ken Oren officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery.

David Alan Marshal, age 55, of Arcanum, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at 5:17 PM at his residence. He was born on August 25, 1959 in Darke County, Ohio, to Mabel I. (Hillard) Marshal and the late Francis L. Marshal.

He is survived by his wife, Rhonda Fay (Barnhill) Marshal of Arcanum, Ohio, whom he married on August 17, 1985; daughters and son in law, Misty & Seth Dickens of Arcanum, Ohio, and Kristen Marshal of Pitsburg, Ohio; grandchildren, Chase Dickens, Matthew Marshal and Scott Marshal; brothers and sisters in law, Francis & Karen Marshal of Celina, Ohio, Kenny & April Marshal of Greenville, Terry & Carlie Marshal of Arcanum, Ohio, and Tony & Sherri Marshal of Versailles, Ohio; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his father he is preceded in death by his sister, Janice K. Meade and brother, Mike Stein.

David worked at Fram for 22 years and then was a dispatcher for the Greenville Transit. He was a member of the Moose, Eagles and loved to go camping and travel but most of all loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Madonna L. King, age 85 of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 8:08 A.M. Tuesday May 12, 2015 at the residence of her son Jeff. She was born October 2, 1929 in Kokomo, Indiana and the daughter of the late Floyd H. and Helen (Priesthoff) Gerhart.

Madonna was a homemaker, a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church, the Elks Lodge Ladies Auxiliary and the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary all of Greenville. She also had enjoyed playing bridge and participating in bowling leagues.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband John C. “Jack” Smith and her second husband Gilbert E. King.

Madonna is survived by her children Jennifer A. Bertram of Greenville, Jeffrey V. (Nellie) Smith of Greenville and Teresa “Kim” (Ron) Halley of Pittsburgh, PA; grandchildren Stephanie (Rod) Mikesell, Roman (Tina) Smith and Derek (Amy) Smith; great grandchildren Ashley Mikesell, Jacob Mikesell, Peyton Smith, Caiden Smith and Kena Smith; brother Floyd H. Rick Henderson, 64, of West Milton, formerly of Ansonia, passed away late Monday evening, May 11, 2015 at his residence.

He was born February 10, 1951 in Greenville, son of the late George H. and Virginia A. (Klosterman) Henderson.

Rick was a retired carpenter, with Carpenter Local 136. He was a veteran of the US Army having served in Vietnam. He graduated from Ansonia High School Class of 1969, member of American Legion 353, VFW, and the Harley Owners Group. Rick was an avid golfer, Ohio State fan and enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports.

He is survived by his significant other, Deb Henderson; children, Lisa (Tom) Rindler of Tipp City and David (Laura) Henderson of Sidney; step daughters, Natasha Peters and Sarah Logan; grandchildren, Jared, Adam, and Jason Rindler, Tyler Kelch, Eva and Hope Henderson; step grandchildren, Kailyn Rohrer, Hayli Chamberlan, Carson Peters; a sister, Carol (Charles) Baughman; a brother, Gary (Vicky) Henderson; and several nieces and nephews.

Services with full military honors by the Greenville Veterans Honor Guard will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, May 15, at the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville. Burial will follow in the Ansonia Cemetery.

Curtis William Varner age 34, of Versailles, Ohio passed away at 6:56 P.M. on Monday, May 11, 2015 at his residence. Curtis was born July 26, 1980 to Bruce W. Varner of Versailles and the late Donna M. (Vorhees) Varner.

In addition to his father, Curtis is survived by his wife, Dawn M. (Strunks) Varner whom he married December 16, 2006; children, Jeffery, Olivia, Connor, Amelia, Kimber and Vienna Varner; brother, Brad Varner of Versailles; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Curtis was a member of the Versailles Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 2347.

He was a member of the American Legion.

Maryalice Brewer (May 4, 2015)

Maryalice Brewer, age 81 passed away Monday, May 4 at 7:45 PM at the Brethren Retirement Community where she had been a resident since 2010. Maryalice was born January 8, 1934, the second of 4 children born to Omer & Beatrice (Lindamood) Wilson. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Don, an infant brother Franklin, her brother Bob, sister-in-law & husband Isabelle & Glenn Fourman and sister-in-law Bea Landreth.

Maryalice met future husband Don when he came to Palestine and played drums in the Greenville Community Band which was performing an evening concert. Maryalice and Don were married in July 1952 just a month after she graduated from Palestine High School. They settled in Palestine and eventually bought the house next door to her parents. They were the proud parents of 4 children: Rick, Dave, Scott and Melody. Don and Maryalice had 9 grandchildren and there are 12 great-grandchildren. Don passed away in February 2008.

Maryalice was always active in her community & county. Maryalice worked over 30 years at Fram. She was elected the Clerk of Liberty Township and held that office for over thirty years. While clerk she was elected the secretary of the Darke County Township Association. Maryalice always had a love for quilts and was a member of the Towne Squares Quilt Club. She operated “Pap and Granny’s Quilt Shop” in Palestine from 1993 till closing in 2006.

Above all, family meant much to Maryalice. She came to almost every ballgame in which her children and grandchildren played. She attended concerts, operas, plays, banquets, award ceremonies and retirement parties.

She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law Rick & Kathy (Stone) Brewer, Dave & Kim (Foreman) Brewer and Scott & Tami (Foreman) Brewer, and by daughter and son-in-law Melody & Bill Overfield. Grandchildren are Elizabeth Brewer, Mary Kathryn Brewer, Chris (Mattie) Brewer, Ashley (Nate) Beam, Amy (Tom) Farmer, Jason (Amanda) Brewer, Amber (Alan) Harsh, Jeff (Julie) Overfield and Addie (Derrick) Mikesell. Great-grandchildren are Karlee Farmer, Macy Thompson, Reagan, Lyla, Wilson, Grady, and Annie Brewer, Nora, Grace and Claire Harsh and Jaxen and Jace Overfield. Maryalice is further survived by brothers Bill (Josephine) Wilson and Dan (Beverly) Wilson, sister-in-law Mary Esther Wilson and brother-in-law Paul Landreth. There are many nieces, nephews, cousins and special family friend Von Oswalt who will miss Maryalice.

Funeral services for Maryalice will be held at 10:30 A. M. on Friday, May 8, 2015 at the Palestine Church of Christ in Palestine, Ohio with the Rev. Mike Simmons officiating. Burial will follow in the Palestine Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 4 till 8 P. M. at the church. Brent D. Corn, 28, of Greenville, OH, passed away Friday, May 1, 2015 in Santa Ana, CA.

He was born November 8, 1986, in Troy, OH, the son of Steven Corn of Troy, Ohio and Susan (Mark) Hartrum of Greenville, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his, grandparents, Robert and Margurite Corn.

Brent had worked at ConAgra in Troy, Ohio for 5 years. He graduated from Greenville Senior High School in 2005.

In addition to his parents, Brent is survived by his sisters, Kristin (Christopher) Jurgens of Huber Heights, and Kaylee Hartrum of Dayton; maternal grandparents, John D. Sharon Kay Stephens, age 61, of Greenville, Ohio, passed on Saturday, May 2, 2015 at 11:24 AM at Upper Valley Medical Center, Troy, Ohio. She was born on February 2, 1954 in Dayton, Ohio, to Wanda (Taylor) Barnes of Greenville and the late Joe Buckley.

She is survived by her husband of 22 years, Tony Stephens of Greenville; daughter, Nonnie Beavins of Greenville; step sons, Trent Stephens of Greenville and Tyler Stephens of Kentucky; grandchildren, Sasha, Kyle, Deaken and Kierah Beavins and Tabitha Stephens; great grandchildren, Landyn Beavins, Kaidren and Jaxten Bailey; 1 brother and numerous nieces and nephews.

Sharon was self-employed Physical Therapist and was also a waitress. She was a member of the Calvary Deliverance Church Greenville, Ohio, and loved spending time with her grandchildren.

In addition to her father she is preceded in death by grandmother, Ethel Johnson and 3 sisters.

She enjoyed gardening, fishing, mushroom hunting, traveling and most of all spending time with her grandchildren.

Donald L. Knick (April 30, 2015)

Donald L. Knick, age 81 of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 11:10 P.M. Thursday April 30, 2015 at the State of the Heart Hospice Care Center Greenville, Ohio. Donald was born August 12, 1933 in Greenville, Ohio and the son of the late Stanley and Esther (Beisner) Knick.

Donald served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and was retired following 20 years of employment at N.C.R. of Dayton and 26 years at Delphi Chassis of Moraine. He was a longtime member of the Greenville Masonic Lodge.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Ina P. (Young) Knick January 26, 2009. They were married May 4, 1975. Also brothers Bill Knick, James Gerald “Jack” Knick and John Robert Knick; Sister Helen Shiverdecker.

Donald is survived by his daughters Kim Knick of Greenville and Vicki (Glen) Galloway of Hodges, S.C.; Brother Ralph (Kathryn) Knick of Greenville as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

William A. “Bill” Miller (April 30, 2015)

William A. “Bill” Miller, 55 of Greenville, Ohio passed away on Thursday April 30, 2015 at 10:22 PM at Wayne Healthcare Emergency Room. He was born February 15, 1960 in Greenville, Ohio the son of Frances (Unger) Miller of Greenville and the late Robert L. Miller. He worked in Logistics at Komyo America in Troy, Ohio.

He is preceded in death by his father; & sister: Betty Rohr.

He is survived by his mother: Frances (Unger) Miller of Greenville; his wife: Deborah (Wehrkamp) Miller of Greenville; daughters: Ashley Miller of Arcanum, & Sara Miller of Greenville; brothers & sister in law: Terry & Marcia Miller of Greenville, Larry Miller of New Paris; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, & great nephews.

Services will be held on Tuesday May 5, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio. Burial will follow in Gettysburg Cemetery, Gettysburg, Ohio. Family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM on Tuesday May 5, 2015 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Gettysburg Fire and Rescue.

Joyce Wayne Weaver (April 29, 2015)

Joyce Wayne Weaver, 75 of Greenville, Ohio passed away on Wednesday April 29, 2015 at 3:10 PM at Wayne Healthcare Emergency Room. He was born July 23, 1939 in Darke County, Ohio the son of the late Urban & Alice (Godown) Weaver. He retired from Delphi in Vandalia where he worked as an electrician. He volunteered at Shawnee Prairie and at the parks; he enjoyed his family.

He is preceded in death by his parents; son: Jack Weaver.

He is survived by his wife: Monna (Supinger) Weaver of Greenville; sons & daughter in law: Jeff Weaver, Dennis & Kathy Weaver; grandchildren & spouses: Joe & Trisha Weaver, Jon & Sara Weaver, Beth & John Winger, Staci Weaver, Keith & Christina Weaver, Zachary Weaver & friend Kailie; great grandchildren: Seline Weaver, Jacob, Jackson, & Jerome Weaver, Leland & Landis Kauffman, Jeni Winger, Sean, Jordan, Candie, Addalyn, & Lylahlu Weaver, & Dean Weaver; brothers & sisters in law: Nelson & Donna Weaver, Norman & Treva Weaver; sister & brother in law: Mary Ann & Dale Sloan; brother in law & spouse: Gale & Becky Supinger; sister in law & spouse: Sandy & Pat Rhoton, aunt & uncle: Herschel & Ruth Ann Schultz.

Aaron H. Ross (April 28, 2015)

Aaron H. Ross, age 29, of Palestine, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at 7:57 AM at his residence. He was born on August 6, 1985 in Greenville, Ohio, to Rebecca A. (Tielbur) Schultz of Greenville and the late Jim H. Ross.

In addition to his mother he is survived by his step father, Tony Schultz of Greenville; sister and brother in law, Rachel & Bryan Duncan of Palestine; nieces and nephews, Evan and Chelsea Duncan and Gauge and Brynlee McKee; maternal grandmother, Doris Jean Tielbur of Pitsburg, Ohio; step paternal grandmother, Betty Jean Schultz of Greenville; as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Aaron was a member of the Greenville Masonic Lodge #143. He loved playing the guitar and writing music.

In addition to his father he is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Herman & Helen Ross and maternal grandfather, Delbert Tielbur.

There will be a service held on Friday, May 1, 2015 at 10:30 AM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville. Burial will follow in the Palestine Cemetery, Palestine, Ohio. Family will receive friends on Thursday, April 30, 2015 from 5-7 PM at the funeral home. There will be a Masonic Memorial Service conducted by the Greenville Masonic Lodge on Thursday at 6:45 PM at the funeral home.

Stephen D. Deem (April 25, 2015)

Stephen D. Deem, 64, of Greenville, passed away Saturday morning, April 25, 2015 at the State of the Heart Hospice Care Center in Greenville.

He was born May 31, 1950, in Glen Karn, Darke County, son of the late Harold and Aileen (Satkamp) Deem. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Mike and Robert Deem; and a nephew, Benny Deem.

Steve had worked for Sullivan Corporation as a supervisor. He was a veteran and had served in the military police in the US Army.

He is survived by his sons, Chris (Heather) Deem, Josh (Amber Miller) Deem, Sean (Bethany Hunt) Deem, Brian (Jessica) Kolb, and Adam Kolb; grandchildren, Houston, Gavin, Braylon and Lilia Deem. Dylan, Brandon, Caleb, Ryan, Madison and Caden Kolb; sisters, Sonnie Frech and Billie Jo Deem; a brother, Nevin Deem; special friends, D.J. Crawford and Lisa Brickler; and numerous friends, nieces, and nephews.

A memorial service with full military honors by the Greenville Veteran’s Honor Guard will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 2 at the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10 a.m. till 11 a.m. on Saturday.

Shirley M. Baker (April 26, 2015)

Shirley M. Baker, age 82, of Greenville passed away at State of the Heart Hospice Unit at Wayne Health Care on Sunday, April 26, 2015.

Shirley was born on November 4, 1932 at her parent’s farm near Palestine, Ohio. She was the daughter of the late Paul and Verona (Flatter) Harless. A graduate of Palestine High School, Shirley married Richard E. Baker on March 16, 1952.

A cosmetologist by training, Shirley spent the majority of her working years as the Clerk Treasurer of the Liberty Local School District, followed by several years as the high school secretary for Tri-Village School District.

A member of Beech Grove Church of the Brethren for many years, Shirley was active with the church choir and also served for a time as the church secretary. A great lover of music, she sang for numerous weddings, funerals and other events during her lifetime.

Shirley was always active on the farm with Dick, helping with their show cattle and the many and various events at Shirlynne Farms, Shirlynne Cattle Company and Top Cut Show Pig Sires in Hollansburg, Ohio.

Shirley loved to travel and had the opportunity to circumnavigate the globe, visiting every continent of the world (including Antarctica).

Shirley is survived by her husband, Richard (Greenville); daughter, Tyeis and husband Bill Baumann (Greenville); and granddaughter Jessica Baumann with special friend Tom Lardner (Cleveland).
Receiving of friends will be at Zechar-Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville, Ohio on Monday, May 4, 2015 from 6:00pm – 7:00 pm. Celebration of Life will be at 7:00 pm. Pastor Gary Cloyd will be conducting the service.
