Leroy C. Wellman, 91 Greenville, Ohio passed away on Saturday January 2, 2021 at 2:16 PM at his residence. He was born April 16, 1929 in Bryant, Indiana, the son of the late Jerome & Agnes (Krieg) Wellman. He was an Operating Engineer.
He was a member of St, Mary’s Catholic Church; Knights of Columbus, Greenville, Ohio; a 60 year member of the Operating Engineers Union.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his daughter: Dian Bryson; his sisters: Rita Heiman, Martha Dodd, Helen Wellman, & Edna Hoying; his brothers: Alfred, Jerome, Carl, Jim, Urban, Arther, Richard, Paul, & Francis Wellman.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years Elma Jean (Sundman) Wellman of Greenville whom he married April 18, 1959; his children & spouses: John & Debora Wellman of Columbus, Ohio, Joyce & Tod Clark of Greenville, Robert Wellman of Cincinnati, Joseph & Penny Wellman of Greenville; son in law: Neil Bryson of Greenville; grandchildren: Benjamin & Rebekah Bryson, Lindsey & Andrew Cizmar, Seth Bryson, Zachary & Ian Wellman, Jacob Clark; great grandchildren: Adalynn & Leviticus Bryson, Clara & Amelia Cizmar; his sister: Doris Wack of Tucson, Arizona; his brother: Eugene & Peg Wellman of Fishers, Indiana; numerous nieces & nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday January 7, 2021 at 11:30 AM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 233 West Third Street, Greenville, Ohio with Rev. Fr. David Doseck Celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Church Cemetery, Greenville, Ohio. The family will receive friends from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Thursday January 7, 2021 at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to State of the Heart Care or St. Mary’s Catholic School.
