Warren S. Davis (October 25, 2016)

Warren S. Davis, 76 of Versailles, Ohio passed away on Tuesday October 25, 2016 at 4:40 AM at the Versailles Health Care Center, Versailles, Ohio. He was born June 20, 1940 in Pineville, Kentucky the son of the late Fred & Kitty (Warren) Davis. He was a school teacher at Versailles Schools and was the owner/operator of Col. Warren S. Davis Trucking.

He was a member of the Gettysburg Masonic Lodge; and the N.R.A. He graduated from Eastern Kentucky University; Loved UK Basketball; enjoyed playing checkers, pool and pinball; he was a loving father and grandfather.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife: Phyllis (Strunk) Davis of Versailles whom he married June 22, 1962; daughters: Kitty Davis of North Star and Marla Lundergan of Richmond, Kentucky; grandchildren: Kennedy Zumbrink of North Star and Hannigan Lundergan of Richmond, Kentucky; siblings: Beulah Lykins, Freddy W. Davis, Murrell Lee Davis, & Deidra Davis Evans.

A celebration of life service will be held on Friday October 28, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home Greenville, Ohio with Pastor Kim Katterheinrich and Pastor Nick Dimmick officiating. Family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday October 27, 2016 at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio. Masonic services will be conducted by the Gettysburg Masonic Lodge at 7:45 PM on Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society.

Robert V. Smith, age 36 of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 10:25 AM Monday October 24, 2016 in Gettysburg, Ohio. He was born July 19, 1980 in Greenville and the son of Tracey (Pitman) and Dale Baker of Piqua and Robert Smith of Greenville.

He is also survived by his wife Jessica (Julian) Smith of Bradford; son Jaybin McFaddin of Greenville; step daughters Cora Arnett, Carissa Arnett and Brooke Arnett all of Greenville; brothers Michael Baker and John Keckler both of Michigan, Levi Smith of Florida and Bo Smith of Greenville; sisters Crissy Baker of Dayton, Sarah Smith of Piqua, Keisha Smith and Brianna Smith both of Greenville; grandmothers Pat Pitman of Bradford and Shirley Swabb of Greenville; aunts Hope Hawes of Covington, Janell Grimes and Kay Weaver both of Greenville; uncles Steve Pitman of Bradford, Bobby Pitman of Texas and David Grimes of Indiana as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Charles Arbrie Hubbard (October 26, 2016)

Charles Arbrie Hubbard, 77 of Union City, Ohio passed away on Wednesday October 26, 2016 at 8:55 AM at State of the Heart Hospice Care Center. He was born February 18, 1939 in Besoco, West Virginia the son of the late Thomas Jefferson & Gladys (Giles) Hubbard. He worked on the Railroad and was a factory worker.

Charles loved working with his hands building keepsakes in his workshop for his family and friends. More than anything he loved his family. Charles loved being a “Papaw”

He is preceded in death by his parents; his brother: Thomas Jefferson Hubbard; sisters: Ava Lee Hodge, Elsie Williams, & Midge Miracle.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years Rebecca (Burk) Hubbard of Union City; his children: Randy Enicks, Rhonda Werner, Shelly & Rex Fields, Margie & Mark Neeley; grandchildren: Heather (Shawn) Werner, Heidi (Jeremy) Werner, Michael (Heather M.) Werner, Rachel Werner, Emily (Rod) Reynolds, Kari (Kyle) Warvel, Jenna (Ty) Smith, Jason (April) Enicks, Chad Enicks, Nicole (Caleb) Normback, Nick Neeley; 18 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces & nephews.

Danny L. Norris (October 21, 2016)

Danny L. Norris, beloved high school administrator, educator and coach, died October 21, 2016 at his home in Versailles, Ohio, from pancreatic cancer. He was 74.

Mr. Norris, who stood at 6’3” tall, had a decades-long stature as a passionate principal at Crestview High School and a devoted teacher and head basketball coach at Versailles, Preble Shawnee and Ridgeville High Schools. During his 11 years as principal at Crestview, Norris helped to lead the development and construction of a new K-12 school. During his 13 years at Versailles, he was the original administrator for the Ohio Work Education (OWE) program, which developed an integrated work and education curriculum to enable select high school students to graduate and transition successfully into productive lives post high school. Norris also coached the 1976 Versailles Class AA District Champion basketball team.

Mr. Norris received a Master’s in Education at Miami University and a Bachelor’s in History at Kent State University, attending on a full athletic scholarship and starting as a forward on the basketball team and starting as pitcher for the baseball team. Norris attended high school in his birthplace of Arcanum, Ohio, where he had been recently inducted into the Hall of Fame for his accomplishments in both basketball and baseball.

Norris enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s basketball games, tending his thriving garden, golfing, walking in the woods, and engaging in political and community-based initiatives.

Born on December 5, 1941, the third son to Dorothy M. and Leonard G. Norris, Norris is survived by his wife Betty, sister Colleen Schenck, daughter Wendi Norris and son Brett Norris, stepchildren Scott Subler, Melanie (Subler) Dortch, and Renee (Subler) Plescia. Norris was an extraordinarily proud grandfather of 12 and great grandfather of 2.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, October 29, 2016, at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville with Pastor Steve Short officiating. Burial will follow in St. Valbert Cemetery in Versailles. The family will receive friends on Friday from 3:00 to 8:00 P.M. and Saturday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 A.M. at the funeral home. The family has requested that donations be made to the Dan Norris Memorial Scholarship Fund, an annual scholarship to be given to a graduating high school student who plans to pursue a two-year trade school education. Calvin Alexander Palmer (October 22, 2016)

Calvin Alexander Palmer - Born December 17, 2015 passed away on October 22, 2016 due to complications from heart surgery. Calvin was a blessing to everyone he met. His sweet smile and big brown eyes drew people to him. He was loved dearly by his parents Justin & Lori Palmer and big brother Titus. While his life on earth was short, he touched more lives than we ever knew, and will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Survived by maternal grandparents Alan & Linda Wetzel of Arcanum, OH; paternal grandparents Stephen and Deborah Palmer of Circleville, OH; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.

Barbara Jean Hall (October 17, 2016)

Barbara Jean Hall, age 90, of Liberty, IN, passed away, Monday, October 17, 2016 at Reid Hospital in Richmond, IN

She was born Saturday, June 19, 1926 in Blue Diamond, KY, a daughter of the late Henry and Martha (Coffee) Merrill.

In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Oliver L. Hall in 1998; her son, Kenneth S. Hall in 1968 a step granddaughter, Melissa Brown in 2012.

Barbara enjoyed playing the organ, crocheting, cooking and baking. She loved her family and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Barbara is survived by two sons, Jeffrey (Donna) Hall, Sr. of Greenville, OH, and Thomas J. (Vera) Hall of San Andreas, CA; 8 grandchildren, Jeffrey Hall, Jr. of Greenville, OH, Carrie Hall of Hollansburg, OH, Shane Hall of Lynn, IN, Matthew Hall and Hannah Hall both of Greenville, OH, Tj (Cassandra) Hall, Cade (Dawna) Hall and Lana Hall all of WA; a step daughter, Carol McGarity of CA, and numerous great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, October 21, 2016 at Palestine Cemetery in Palestine with Rev. Eric Fee officiating.

Waldo Joseph Royer (October 16, 2016)

Waldo Joseph Royer, 93, of New Madison, OH, passed away, Sunday, October 16, 2016 at Heartland Of Greenville.

Waldo was born Monday, September 10, 1923 in New Madison, OH, a son of the late Earl and Mary (Rhoades) Royer.

In addition to his parents, Waldo was preceded in death by his brothers, Melvin Royer and Rolland Eugene Royer, and sister, Donna Rife.

Waldo served his country honorably in the U.S. Army. He was a 1941 graduate of New Madison High School. Waldo was employed at Flaig Lumber for ten years and had worked at the grain elevators in New Madison and Eldorado. Waldo enjoyed playing softball, horseshoes, and spending time at the Back in Time cafe. Most of all loved spending time with his family.

Waldo is survived by his wife, Patricia (Wilt)Royer of New Madison, son, Michael D. and Tricia Royer of Connersville, IN; daughters, Debbie and Jeff Gutheil of West Carrollton, OH and Sharon and Brian Anderson of New Madison; 10 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family with Pastor Joe Royer and Pastor Carol Duffield officiating. Burial will be in Greenmound Cemetery.

Joe M. Brandt, age 66, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Friday, October 14, 2016 at 8:58 AM at Hospice of Dayton, Dayton, Ohio. He was born on May 22, 1950 in Greenville, Ohio, to the late Richard Carl & Betty Ruth (Mitchell) Brandt.

He is survived by his wife, Lucreda (Helmer) Brandt of Greenville, Ohio, whom he married on September 6, 1969; sons and daughter in law, David & Donna Brandt of Clayton, North Carolina, and Darrin Brandt of Tampa, Florida.; daughter and son in law, Denise & Doug Pond of Covington, Ohio; grandchildren, Lexi Roth, Jami Roth and Gracyn Brandt; brothers and sisters in law, David & Jean Brandt of San Diego, California, Mike & Sharon Brandt of Arcanum, Ohio, Steve & Joan Brandt of Greenville, Ohio, and Jim & Pam Brandt of Syracuse, Utah; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his daughter, Danielle Brandt.

Joe retired from Corning Glass after 29 years of service before retiring from Whirlpool after 10 years. Joe loved photography and was a member of the New Apostolic Church in Greenville, Ohio.

Nancy Johnson (October 14, 2016)

Nancy Johnson (nee Trittschuh), age 81 of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 1:35 AM Friday October 14, 2016 at the home of her daughter Jill in Greenville. Nancy was born January 11, 1935 in Paulding County Ohio and the daughter of the late Vernon and Edna (Baltes) Trittschuh.

She attended Miami University of Ohio and taught school in Versailles, Englewood and the Greenville School Systems. Her love was painting watercolors, which are scattered throughout the United States and Canada. Nancy was a member and past president of the Art Guild since its inception. She was a past director of the Anna Bier Gallery, an avid golfer retiring her clubs at the age of 75. She also taught bridge for many years and was a formidable opponent at the card table. To Nancy, family gatherings were always a welcome reunion.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband Robert F. Hahn in 1952, her second husband of 54 years, Jan P. Johnson in 2010 and her daughter Deborah Dils in 2007.

Nancy is survived by her son Jon (Cheryl) Johnson of Lebanon, Ohio and daughter Jill (Jeff) Wright of Greenville; grandchildren Elizabeth, Lindsay, Margaret, Joel, Jansen and Jay; great grandchildren Memphis, Elijah, Tessa, Miranda and Landen; brothers Edward (Virginia) Trittschuh of Greenville and James (Sandra) Trittschuh of Dayton; sisters Brenda (Phillip) Hermes of New Carlisle, Victoria (David) DeVoss of Palmetto, Florida; sister-in-law Joyce (Larry) Noble of Port Charlotte, Florida and Judith (Frank) Sasser of Mesa, Arizona as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many many special friends.

The family will be receiving family and friends on Sunday October 23, 2016 from 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM at Romer’s 118 East Main Street Greenville, Ohio. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family in the St. Valbert Cemetery Versailles, Ohio.

Rebecca U. Lucy, age 91, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, October 9, 2016 at 12:37 AM at her residence. She was born on July 19, 1925 in Altavista, Virginia, to the late William Posey & Lulu (Scruggs) Unrue.

She is survived by her children, Laurence Jesse (Jill) Lucy of Michigan, Joyce Anne (Francisco Tabora) Lucy of Germany, James Walter Lucy of Nevada, William Paul (Cindy Curtner) Lucy of Ohio and David Lee (Karyl) Lucy of South Carolina; grandchildren, Chris, Scott, Rosalie, Justin, Tyler, Jean, Sean, Terri, Christie, Blake, David, Rachel, Josh and Sarah; 15 great grandchildren; brother, William Posey Unrue Jr.; as well as various nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Jesse James Lucy; grandson, Kenneth Paul Lucy; great granddaughter, Rebecca Marcella Lucy; and four sisters, Fanny, Edna, Mildred and Nora.

After she graduated high school, she was active in the USO and worked at Newport News Virginia Shipyard until her marriage. She also worked at University of Michigan while her husband was earning his degree there. She trained as a florist and ran a floral shop in Fairfield, Ohio. She worked at Helen’s Flowers in Greenville and Marsh. She enjoyed crafts, sewing and especially designing and making quilts. All her family benefited from her creative talents. She always helped anyone in need and donated to various charities. She will be missed by all who knew her, especially her family. She was a grand lady.

There will be a private service held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio.

Thomas Lee Dapore (October 09, 2016)

Thomas Lee Dapore, age 69, of Greenville, OH, passed away, Sunday, October 09, 2016 at Upper Valley Medical Center in Troy, OH.

He was born Friday, March 14, 1947 in Columbus, OH, a son of the late Cletus and Thelma (Bruner) Dapore.

Tom was a 22 year veteran of the United States Air Force serving in both Vietnam and Korea. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and a life member of the NRA He was an outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping.

Tom is survived by his son, Kenneth Dapore of CA; and close friends, Jason (Joanna) Curl of Piqua, OH, Justin Ungericht of Greenville, OH, and Mandi Campbell of Troy, OH.

A Celebration of Life Service, with full military honors provided by the Greenville Honor Guard, will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, October 13, 2016 at Stelvideo Cemetery with Branch President Phil Garbig officiating.

Carolyn Ann (Hopper) Hart, 75 of Bradford, Ohio passed away on Tuesday October 4, 2016 at 11:45 PM at her residence. She was born January 24, 1941 in Dawn, Ohio the daughter of the late Charles S. & Nellie Rae (Davis) Hopper. She did display/ Ad work; worked in Human Services; Job Training Specialist; was the secretary for the construction company; and managed apartments in Greenville.

She was a C.C.D. Teacher; Girl Scout Leader; past board member of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Shelby Darke County; She traveled all over Europe, Japan, Spain, & Greece on bicycle tours.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brother: Robert Hopper; sisters: Onda Fae Matthews, Ellen Peters, and Patricia Pottkotter.

She is survived by her husband: Dr. James E. Hart of Bradford whom she married September 19, 1959; children & spouses: Cathy (Brian) Hart-Walls of Indianapolis, Indiana, Diane (Randolph) Sawyer of Oakwood, Ohio, Thomas (Tammy) Hart of Lewisburg, Ohio, Sean (Debbie) Hart of West Chester, Ohio; grandchildren: Wesly Hart, Lane hart, Peyton Sawyer, Parker Sawyer; sister: Myrna Detling of Liberty Twp., Ohio; brother in law: Ralph Pottkotter of Montezuma, Ohio.

Carole Ann Harless, 78, of Greenville, OH, passed away, Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at Village Green Healthcare Center in Greenville, Ohio.

Carole was born Tuesday, November 16, 1937 in Mansfield, OH, a daughter of the late Archer and Bernice (Bradford) Currens.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Harless who passed away July 13, 2016, sons, Kevin Julian, John Harless and Phil Julian.

Carole had owned and operated a bookstore. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, VFW Auxiliary, and American Legion all of Greenville.

Carole survived by her children, Greg and Jessy Julian of Fremont, OH, Pat and Kim Harless of Greenville, Tim Harless and Cindy Austen of Greenville and Kathy Jesse of Greenville; sister, Sandy Kearney of Mansfield, OH; a brother; 19 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; a niece and nephew; and numerous friends.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, October 8, 2016 at First United Methodist Church, 202 W 4th Street, Greenville, Ohio with Pastor Angela Meeks officiating. Burial will follow in Greenville Union Cemetery.

Fay O. Hobbs, age 99, of Greenville, passed away Monday, October 3, 2016 at Rest Haven Nursing Home in Greenville.

Fay was born October 03, 1917 in New Weston, Ohio, a daughter of the late Lloyd and Merle (Kerns) Hobbs.

In addition to her parents, Fay was preceded in death by her husband, Ovid Hobbs, in 1995, whom she married March 01, 1941; sister, Ruth Rindler; and grandson, Steve Nisonger.

Fay was a homemaker and helped Ovid on the farm. She worked at Inland Steel for 24 years. She was an avid Bingo player and traveled the country with her family when she was younger.

Fay is survived by her children, Wilma Jean (Daniel) Nisonger and Duane (Ann) Hobbs both of Greenville, Ohio; grandchildren, Mark (Mary) Nisonger of Greenville, Ohio; Scott (Michelle) Hobbs of Greenville, Ohio, Stacy (Ryan) Hoying of Ft. Loramie, Ohio; 4 great grandchildren, Stephanie Nisonger of Bradford, Ohio, Lilly, Madie and Lincoln Hobbs all of Greenville, Ohio

Agnes Mae Blair (October 3, 2016)

Agnes Mae Blair, 56 of New Madison, Oh passed away, Monday, October 3, 2016 at Good Samaritan Hospital.

Agnes was born on April 16, 1960 in Richmond, IN, a daughter of Roberta Blair of New Madison and the late Charles O. Blair.

Agnes had worked at Wayne Industries for many years. She was very fun loving and had a great sense of humor. She enjoyed music, especially Elvis Presley. She loved to draw, paint, and swim. She collected Mickey Mouse memorabilia and her favorite pets were cats. Most of all her favorite event was having pizza parties.

Agnes is survived by her mother, Roberta Blair and special friend Ralph Ruse of New Madison; sisters, Cheryl Miller of New Madison and Michele Blair and Jeff Frech of New Madison; nephews, Chad Clevenger of New Madison and Derrick Clevenger of PA; niece, Jessie Hall of New Madison; several great nieces and nephews.

No public services will be held.

Services have been entrusted to Braund Pope Funeral Home.

Alan M. Hansbarger (October 02, 2016)

Alan M. Hansbarger, age 93, of Ansonia, OH, passed away, Sunday, October 02, 2016 in Springfield, Ohio

He was born Tuesday, January 16, 1923 in Canton, OH, a son of the late Earl and Ruth (DeFord) Hansbarger. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Hansbarger.

Alan was a veteran of World War II where he served as a Staff Sargent in the 8th Air Force, 398th Bomb Group. He was a Graduate of Ohio State University with a degree in mechanical engineering.

He is survived by many cousins, nephews and a niece.

Private services, with full military honors provided by the Greenville Honor Guard, will be held at the convenience of the family.

William Donald Sturgill (October 2, 2016)

William Donald Sturgill, age 83, of Greenville passed away at 2:12 A.M. on Sunday, October 2, 2016, at Ohio Health Doctors Hospital-West in Columbus. William was born May 20, 1933, in Hamilton, Ohio, to the late Virgil Henry & Willa (Chastine) Sturgill.

William is survived by his children, William & Kim Sturgill Jr., Tamara & Jim Ross, Gregory & Debbie Sturgill, David & Jennifer Sturgill, Belinda & John Schuermann, Dewayne & Chrissy Engle and Timothy & Andrea Sturgill; grandchildren, Tabitha Mathew, Amanda Dennis, Noah Sturgill, Adam Sturgill, Joshua Aslinger, Arlene Guess, Joshua Sturgill, Emily Sturgill, Luke Sturgill, Isaac Sturgill, Richard Schuermann, Jenny Schuermann, Alli Schuermann, Crystal Engle, Michael Engle, Tiffany Engle and Quincy Sturgill; step-grandchildren, Stefanie Ross and Jennifer & Jason Evans; great-grandchildren, Emma Jones, Austin Stutz, Brantley Stutz and Clayton Longwell; brother & sister-in-law, Virgil & Sarah Sturgill Jr.; sisters & brothers-in-law, Patricia & Don Devereaux, Myrna Freshcorn, Linda Raines and Brenda & Mark Wilson; brother-in-law, Charlie Malone; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.

William was also preceded in death by his 1st wife, Arlene Elizabeth (Gilbert) Sturgill; 2nd wife, Brenda Carol (Roberts) Sturgill; and sister, Carol Malone.

William served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. William retired from GM in Dayton where he was a machine repairman. He was a lifelong member of the Moose International and the American Legion. He was a huge Buckeye fan, horse racing fan and sports fanatic. William was an avid bowler, softball player and golfer.

The family will receive friends on Friday, October 7, 2016, from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville followed by a celebration of William’s life at the Greenville American Legion 325 North Ohio Street in Greenville. A private graveside service will be held in the Miami Valley Memory Gardens in Springboro on Saturday, October 8, 2016. Rebecca Susan (Gantner) Risden (October 2, 2016)

Rebecca Susan (Gantner) Risden, 61, of Huber Heights, passed away, Sunday, October 2, 2016 at Hospice of Dayton.

Rebecca was born Monday, January 10, 1955 in Dayton, OH, a daughter of the late John and Lena (Humphrey) Gantner.

In addition to her parents, Rebecca was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Wayne Risden, brothers Garry, John, and Michael Gantner

Rebecca loved to cook, laugh and spend time with her family.

Rebecca is survived by her brother, Samuel Gantner of Abilene, KS; son, John and Kelli Lawhorn IV of Dayton; daughters, Adrienne and Brent Ray of Centerville, OH, Brenda Risden of Huber Heights, Gwendolyn Risden of Fairborn; grandchildren,Sarah, Donna, John and Audrey Lawhorn, Brandon and Alaina Ray, Madison Gargiulo, Jackson and Lauren Gaytko, Cayden and Bryson Edwards, Alissa and Katelynn Cochran and Christopher Risden; several nieces and nephews.

David DeWitt Leeper (October 2, 2016)

David DeWitt Leeper, 63, of Rossburg, OH, passed away, Sunday, October 2, 2016 at Rest Haven Nursing Home.

David was born Sunday, November 23, 1952 in Greenville, OH, a son of the late N. Edward and N. Jean (Emig) Leeper.

In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his brother Donald Leeper and sister-in-law, Karlynn Leeper.

David was a 1971 graduate of Mississinawa Valley High School and had worked as a truck driver.

David is survived by his brothers and sisters, Douglas Leeper of Rossburg, Dennis Leeper of Rossburg, Diane and Tom Jenkins of Greenville, Dane and Linda Leeper of Ansonia, Darin Leeper of Ft. Myers, FL, Darrell and Cheryl Leeper of Senoia, GA, Darwin and Valerie Leeper of Ansonia, Dwane Leeper of Rossburg, Doreen and Chris Culy of Winchester, IN, and Dwight and Kim Leeper of Rossburg; sister-in-law, Kathy Leeper of Rossburg; and several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:30 am on Thursday, October 6, 2016 at the Oliver Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville with Pastor Eric Fee officiating. Burial will follow in Greenville Township Memorial Gardens.

Family and friends may visit on Wednesday. October 5, 2016 from 4:00 pm-7:00 pm at the Oliver Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville.

Grace L. Barga, 91, of Greenville, OH, passed away Friday, September 30, 2016 at her residence.

She was born Monday, September 7, 1925 in Bass, WV, a daughter of the late Franklin and Londora (See) Lofton.

In addition to her parents, Grace was preceded in death by her husband, Martin Barga, son, Edmond Barga, brother, Ted Vetters, five sisters, Rosie Sherman, Mary Bowman, Ruth Cost, Frankie Voisard, and Nellie Upchurch.

Grace is survived by her granddaughter, Crystal Barga of Greenville, Tish Barga of Dayton; grandson, Heath and Janelle Barga of Greenville; brother, Kenneth See , Jr. of St. Paris. OH; great grandchildren, Levi and Cassie Gibson of Greenville, Daniel and Stacy Gibson of Greenville, Craig Cable of Greenville, Lessie Cable of Greenville, Vanessa and Scott Eickhoff of Ansonia, Victoria and Ethan Clapper of Clayton, OH, Heath Barga of Greenville; great great grandchildren, Reina Gibson, Gabriel Gibson, Delia Gibson, Katheryn Gibson, Liam Eickhoff, and Elvira Eickhoff.


Private graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Beamsville Cemetery.

Catherine Probasco Morris (September 28, 2016)

Catherine Probasco Morris, 87 of Versailles, Ohio passed away on Wednesday September 28, 2016 at 4:46 PM at the State of the Heart Hospice Care Center, Greenville, Ohio. She was born March 31, 1929 in Clinton County, Ohio the daughter of the late Robert & Myra (Harvey) Probasco.

She earned a Bachelor of Education Degree from Wright State University and taught at Gahanna Schools, Kings Schools, Ansonia Schools, & Versailles Schools.

She was a member of the Versailles Christian Church where she played the organ and sang in the choir; she also sang in the community choir; was a member of Coterie Club; taught piano for several years; was a Girl Scout Leader; served on the Library Board; was an avid golfer; and loved to play cards especially bridge; She was a big Tigers fan.

She is preceded in death by her parents; and brothers: Harold & Raymond Probasco.

She is survived by her husband Dr. Loyd Morris of Versailles whom she married August 19, 1949; her children: Michael & Shelly Morris of Hamilton, Ohio, Deborah (Morris) Newkirk of Mason, Ohio, & Jennifer (Morris) & Kim Vieira of Hamilton, Ohio; 5 grandchildren; 3 step grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; 6 step great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday October 6, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Versailles Christian Church 105 West Ward Street, Versailles, Ohio with Pastor Kim Katterheinrich and Pastor Nick Dimmick officiating. Martha Ritenour Woodbury (September 29, 2016)

Martha Ritenour Woodbury, age 91, of Greenville, OH, passed away peacefully, Thursday, September 29, 2016 at Union City Care Center in Union City, OH.

She was born Friday, March 13, 1925, a daughter of the late Purl and Pearl (Harrison) Ritenour.

In addition to her parents, Martha was preceded in death by two Sisters, Margaret E. Ritenour and Ethell R. Westfall.

Martha was very involved with the Humane Society throughout her life and never turned away an animal in need of a home. She was also a member of the Woodington Congregational Church. Martha will surely be missed.

She is survived by her close friends, Dean and Linda Alexander and Joe LeAnn Wenning, and their families.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, October 03, 2016 at Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville with Pastor Randy Reed officiating. Burial will follow in Ansonia Cemetery.

Mark Edward Bragg (September 29, 2016)

Mark Edward Bragg, 61, of Greenville, OH, passed away,Thursday, September 29, 2016 at the State of the Heart Hospice Care Center.

Mark was born Thursday, October 21, 1954 in Detroit, MI, a son of the late Marvin and Maxine Bragg.

In addition to his parents, Mark was preceded in death by his brothers Leroy Bragg and William Bragg, In Laws Charles and Betty Greer, granddaughter, Shyanne Oswalt, and his loving dog and companion, snowball.

Mark served his country honorably in the United States Marine Corp for 22 years. He was a Truck driver for Pohl Transportation. Mark was a lifetime member of the Greenville VFW and a member of the Greenville American Legion. Mark loved working on the farm with his father in law.

Mark is survived by his wife, Victoria (Greer) Bragg, of 32 years, whom he married October 11, 1983; sons, John and Beth Hannan, Union City, OH, Joe and Lisa Bragg, Maria Stein, OH, Dereck and Becky Neukam, Union City, OH; daughters, Charlene and Dean Kissinger, MI, Betsy Marsh, MI, Fawn and Joshua Oswalt-Baker, Arcanum, OH, and Julie and Matt Lecklider, Greenville, OH; brother, Michael and Gina Bragg, Palestine, OH; sister, Sharon Bragg, FL; step mother , Bonney Price, Greenville, OH; 18 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at the Oliver Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville, Ohio with Pastor David Brisker and Pastor John Hannan officiating. Burial will follow in the Stelvideo Cemetery with military services held by the Greenville Veterans Honor Guard.

Family and friends may visit from 10:00 am untill 12:00 pm also on Saturday.
