Warren “Nick” Kissinger (June 29, 2017)

Warren “Nick” Kissinger age 87, of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 12:30 AM on Thursday, June 29, 2017, at Village Green Healthcare Center in Greenville. Nick was born May 6, 1930, in Wyomissing, Pennsylvania to the late Warren N. & Virginia (Benson) Kissinger Sr.

Nick is survived by his son, Mitchell S. Kissinger of Greenville; daughter & son-in-law, Virginia & Brooke Alan Trisel of Hilliard; and grandchildren, Zachary Trisel of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Danielle Trisel of Cincinnati.

In addition to his parents, Nick was also preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn L. (Pequignot) Kissinger on August 3, 1998 whom he married October 2, 1955; son, Michael Kissinger; and brother, Alfred Kissinger.

Nick served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Nick retired from Cadillac Gage in Greenville where he was a machinist for 39 years. Nick was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Greenville; Greenville VFW; Gettysburg Masonic Lodge #477 F&AM; Antioch Shrine Masons of Dayton; Darke County Shrine Club and a 32nd Degree Mason of the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Dayton.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, July 3, 2017, at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville with Pastor Peter Menke officiating. Burial will follow in Greenville Cemetery with Military Honors conducted by the Greenville Veteran’s Honor Guard. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at the funeral home. A Scottish Rite Ring Service will be held prior to funeral on Monday. Memorial contributions may be made to State of the Heart Care. Tracy Lynn Bailey (June 27, 2017)

Tracy Lynn Bailey, age 36, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on June 27, 2017 at 9:47 AM at her residence. She was born on April 5, 1981 in Greenville, Ohio, to her mother, Tina Fourman of Greenville, her late father, David M. Shiverdecker and step mother, Connie Shiverdecker of Greenville.

Tracy is survived by her husband, Steve Bailey of Greenville, whom she married on August 4, 2001; son, Parker Bailey of Greenville; daughter, Kaylyn Bailey of Greenville; brothers, Steven (Breann Menger) Mittermann of St. Henry, OH, and Nick Anderson of Greenville; niece and nephew, Kyla & Gavin Gerace; mother in law, Monica Bailey of Richmond, IN, father in law, Dan Cartwright of Troy, Ohio; brother in law, Jamie Bailey of Richmond, IN; as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

In addition to her father she is preceded in death by her sister, Holli Anderson; maternal grandparents, Tearel & Edna Hinkle, paternal grandparents, Michael “Mick” & Arlene Shiverdecker.

Tracy worked as the Deputy Clerk of Courts, she was a promoter of early detectors and was involved with Adopt a Pit. Her true passion was her family. She loved watching Parker play the drums, Kaylyn play softball and spending time with Steve getting lost on long car rides. She will be deeply missed by many.

There will be a service held on Saturday, July 1, 2017 at 10:30 AM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio, with Pastor Kelly Moody officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenville Township Memorial Gardens, Greenville, Ohio. Family will receive friends on Friday, June 30, 2017 from 4-8 PM at the funeral home.

Frank Aaron Snow (June 26, 2017)

Frank Aaron Snow, 64, of Greenville, passed away at his home on Monday, June 26, 2017.

Frank was born on November 29, 1952 in Winchester, Indiana, to Lois Young and the late Frank Snow.

Frank was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. His greatest enjoyment was spending time with his children and grandchildren.

In addition to his father, Frank was preceded in death by his step father, William Young, two brothers and a sister.

In addition to his mother, Lois, Frank is survived by his wife of 42 years, Roberta Snow, whom he married November 9, 1974; his children, Tina (Jeanie) Snow, Kevin (Jeffrey) Snow, Sarah (Andrew) Whittaker, Jennifer (Aaron) McCauley; his grandchildren, Chris, Starla, Skyler, Eden, Kolten, Peyton, Lilliana and Bradley; great grandchildren, Ayden, Cerulean and Travis; four brothers and his twin sister.

A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held at 2 PM on Friday, June 30, 2017 at 228 Hall Street, Apt. 1, Greenville, Ohio 45331 with Dan Kuhbander officiating.

Neil Evan Stemley (June 26, 2017)

Neil Evan Stemley, age 78, St. Henry, Ohio, died June 26, 2017, at Mercer Health, Coldwater, Ohio. He was born Dec. 7, 1938, in Greenville to the late Charles and Lillian (Smith) Stemley. On Jan. 20, 1962, he married Judith (Hoying) Stemley, who survives in St. Henry. He is also survived by children Scott (Michelle) Stemley, Aledo, TX; Christy (Mike) Prakel, Versailles; Brian (Adrianne) Stemley, Chicago, Ill; Jill (Marc) McQuaid, Dublin, OH; 15 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Merilda Hoying, St. Henry; in-laws Eileen Stemley, Sparta, NJ; Carl and Bernice Hoying, Belle Center; Millie and Marv Stammen, Greenville; Vern and Sue Hoying, St. Henry; Nancy and Jerry Hemmelgarn, Celina; Karen and Charlie Gels, St. Henry; Mary Jane and John Post, Homosassa, FL; Bonnie and Jack Knapschaefer, Coldwater; Alice and Dave Homan, Coldwater; Mike Kanney, Celina; Dan and Brenda Hoying, St. Henry; Lorraine and Kent Paxson, Minster; Susan Hoying, Centerville; and Gary and Annette Hoying, Coldwater. He was preceded in death by his father-in-law Herman Hoying, St. Henry; brother Gary Stemley, Sparta, NJ; and sister-in-law Linda Kanney, Celina.

Neil was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church, Burkettsville, where he was a 60-year member of the choir, lector, past parish council member, past Grand Knight of the St. Henry Knights of Columbus Council 2640. He was a member of the Western Ohio Educational Foundation Board of Trustees, Mercer County Elks 2170, past president of the Mid-America Food Processors Association, past president of the Ansonia School Board, and previously served in the Army National Guard.

Neil was the 3rd generation owner and operator of Stemley Canning Company, New Weston, Ohio. After retiring, he enjoyed managing Speedy Parking, attending his grandchildren’s activities, gardening and traveling.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am Friday, June 30, at St. Bernard Catholic Church, Burkettsville, OH, with Rev. Ron Wilker and Rev. Tom Hemm con-celebrants. Burial will follow in St. Bernard Cemetery. Friends may call from 2pm-8pm Thursday and 9am-10am Friday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, St. Henry. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Euro-Peds Foundation or the Darke County Foundation.

Linda L. Hall (June 24, 2017)

Linda L. Hall, 59, of Greenville, Ohio passed away, Saturday, June 24, 2017 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Dayton, Ohio.

She was born June 20, 1958 in Dayton, Ohio, the daughter of the late Billy Joe and Mildred Barbara (Companion) Stewart.

In addition to her parents, Linda is preceded in death by her daughter, Melissa Brown; and her brother, Billy Joe Stewart, Jr.

Linda loved to go fishing and camping.

Linda is survived by her fiancé, William Burton of Greenville; her children, Carrie Hall of New Madison, Shane Hall and fiancé, Stormie Burt of Lynn, Indiana, Matthew Hall of Greenville, and Hannah Hall of Greenville; her 12 grandchildren; her sisters, Maryann Stewart of Englewood, Tina and Frank Boyd of West Milton, Julie and Bob Bruce of Union; her brother, Larry W. Stewart of Jeffersonville, Indiana; her sister-in-law, Debbie Stewart of Greensboro, North Carolina; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside Celebration of Life service will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at the Greenmound Cemetery in New Madison with Rev. Eric Fee officiating.

Joklahr Keller (June 23, 2017)

Joklahr Keller age 95, of Greenville passed away at 8:27 AM on Friday, June 23, 2017, at State of the Heart Hospice Care Center in Greenville. Joklahr was born January 11, 1922, in Darke County to the late John Harrison & Nellie Grace (Hampshire) Keller.

Joklahr is survived by his children, Eleanor L. & John Randolph Jr. of Miamisburg, Kay & Ray Pierce of Greenwood, SC, Mike Keller of Greenwood, SC and Lisa & Dennis Jones of Greenwood, SC; step children, Gary & Connie Bruner of Greenville and Kathy & Robert Dull of Englewood; 15 grandchildren and 5 step grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and 12 step great- grandchildren; and 2 step great-great grandchildren.

Joklahr was also preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Louise (Brumbaugh) Keller on November 2, 2016 whom he married April 16, 1971; and a grandson, Chris Sanders in 2012.

Joklahr retired from Local #82 Electrical Union in Dayton where he was an electrician for 24 years. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Greenville, Emmaus Walk #17 in Greenville, Local #82 Electrical Union in Dayton and Treaty City Amateur Radio Association, call sign WD8JPF.

Ronald L. Hennessy age 82, of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 7:53 AM on Thursday, June 22, 2017, at State of the Heart Hospice Care Center in Greenville. Ronald was born December 28, 1934, in Dayton to the late William & Mildred (Mundhenk) Hennessy.

Ronald is survived by his wife of 62 years, Phyllis A. (Lecklider) Hennessy whom he married August 7, 1954; sons & daughters-in-law, Vic & Krista Hennessy of Michigan and Kim & Sylvia Hennessy of Indianapolis, Indiana; daughters & son-in-law, Melissa & John Foureman of Greenville and Kathleen Hennessy of Centerville; grandchildren, Marena & Dustin Keers, Matthew & Andrea Hennessy, Daniel & Jessica Foureman, Kathryn & James Light, Rachel & Matthew Sullivan, Kyle & Katie Hennessy and Meghan & Rob Bernhard; and great-grandchildren, Larissa Foureman, Alexandria Foureman, Margaret Belle Keers, Lydia Light, Joseph Keers, Henry Hennessy, Elijah Foureman and Audree Ann Sullivan.

`In addition to his parents, Ronald was also preceded in death by a grandson, Robert Hennessy.

Ronald retired from Dayton Power & Lights with 44 years of service. He was very active in the AFL-CIO. Ronald enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, wine making and going to antique auctions.

Gary Lee Young (June 20, 2017)

Gary Lee Young, age 76 of Wayne Lakes, Ohio passed away at 5:44 PM Tuesday June 20, 2017 at the State of the Heart Hospice Care Center in Greenville. Gary was born May 19, 1941 in Greenville, Ohio and the son of the late Van and Wanda (Richards) Young.

Gary was a graduate of the Ansonia High School and a Diploma recipient from Chicago in Drafting, Tech, Sales and Management Schools. He was also a Licensed Realtor with HER Reality and had 50 years experience in Plumbing/Heating and Air Conditioning Wholesale Distribution Sales and Management.

Gary was the Mayor of Wayne Lakes, a position he has held for the past 20 years. He was also a member of the Greenville Masonic Lodge, Antioch Shrine of Dayton, Greenville Shrine Club and a Veteran of the Shrine Bobbies Parade Unit. He was a former member of the Greenville Elks Lodge, Eagle Lodge and Moose Lodge.

He was a Trustee for Tri-Village Rescue, Past President of Darke County Mayor’s Association, Past President of the Darke County Republican Men’s Club and Finance Director of Senior Scribes Scholarship Fund.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son Christopher, sister Jane Dynes and nephew Rick Dynes.

Gary is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Debra and Mike Sieg of Greenville; step daughter Lisa Marcum; step sons Brian Marcum and William Younk III; 2 granddaughters, 3 grandsons, 1 great granddaughter, 2 nieces, 2 nephews and his fiancé and love of his life Judie Campbell.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday June 30, 2017 in the Zechar Bailey Funeral Home Greenville, Ohio with Pastor Todd Reish officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday June 29, 2017 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM in the funeral home. The Greenville Masonic Lodge will conduct a Masonic Memorial Service at 8:00 PM Thursday in the funeral home.

Peggy Lou Goubeaux (June 12, 2017)

Peggy Lou Goubeaux, 81, of Greenville, passed away Monday, June 12, 2017 at her residence. She was born February 24, 1936 in Elroy, to the late Willard and Blanche (Mann) Mullenix.

In addition to her parents, Peggy was preceded in death by two sisters, Janet Birmingham and Shirley Conner.

Peggy is survived by her husband of 64 years, Joseph Goubeaux of Greenville; her children, Dan (Alice) Goubeaux, Mark Goubeaux, Scott (Lori) Goubeaux and Cindy Goubeaux; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Olive M. Brown, 91, of Greenville, passed away Sunday, June 18, 2017 at Heartland of Greenville.

She was born October 17, 1925 in Rossburg, to the late John and Mabel (Budd) Subler.

In addition to her parents, Olive was preceded in death by her husband, Charold Brown; and her brother-in-law, Robert Collins.

Olive attended Faith Baptist Church in Greenville, and enjoyed taking walks around the parks and being with family and friends.

Olive is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, Douglas Brown and Steve and Charlotte Brown all of Greenville; her grandson, Brian Brown of Greenville; her sister, Marceil Collins of Greenville; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

A Celebration of Life service will be held Thursday, June 22, 2017 at 10:30 AM at the Oliver Floyd Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Baker officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Ft. Jefferson.

Freddie Wright (June 20, 2017)

Freddie Wright, 73, of Winchester, Indiana and formerly of Greenville, passed away Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at the Versailles Health Care Center. He was born August 31, 1943 in Painter Creek to the late Ray and Mazzie (Ratliff) Wright.

In addition to his parents, Freddie was preceded in death by his brother, Chelsea Wright, Sr. and his sister, Susie Keiser.

Freddie served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy.

Freddie is survived by his sons and daughter-in-law, Spencer and Penny Wright of Winchester, Tyler Tieche of Seymour, Indiana; his daughter, Angel Fellers of Arkansas; his grandchildren, Devon Wright and Lexus Wright; his great granddaughter, Kianna Wright; his brother, Don Wright of Greenville; his sister, Jan Wright of Winchester, Indiana; several nieces and nephews.

Linda L. Wickersham (June 16, 2017)

Linda L. Wickersham, 66, of Hollansburg, Ohio, passed away Friday, June 16, 2017 at her residence.

Linda was born March 10, 1951 in Greenville, Ohio to the late Bobby and Elcie (Small) Anthony.

Linda loved making people happy. During her 12 years working at Weimer Electronics, she met a lot of people and enjoyed talking and helping them. She then went to work for Dr. Vallo & Fisher Optical in Greenville and an assistant and remained for 11 years. She loved the people she worked with and the patients she cared for. Linda then discovered Tupperware after going to a Tupperware party and she we hooked. Rick always supported her in this endeavor and she was able to earn many trips. She eventually moved up the Tupperware ladder to become Director with 20 representatives under her. Linda was a strong and reliable person, a devoted wife, a caring and loving mother and grandmother. She has touched many lives and was always grateful for those who touched hers.

Linda is survived by her husband of 33 years, Richard “Rick” Wickersham, whom she married November 11, 1983; her children and their spouses, Scott and Leah Poling of New Madison, Jason and Dawn Poling of Hollansburg and Kory Poling of Hollansburg; step children and their spouses, Rhonda and Scott Jenkins of Greenville, Amy and Jim York of Winchester, Indiana and Staci and Mike Ramey of Webster, Indiana; Grandchildren, Zachary, Elizabeth, Hunter and Aubrey Poling, Ashley and Devin Swick, Sydney Ramey, Mackenzie, Kaitlyn and Bayleigh Koch, Gracie and Sammie York, Kaitlyn Rayburn, Kelly Peters and Jeffrey Kaiser. Linda is also survived by her sister and her husband, Bonnie and Randy Ross of Hollansburg; and numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and very special friends, Jane Hartzell and Maureen Miller.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 3:00 PM on Thursday, June 22, 2017 at Hollansburg Christian Church, 172 Elm St, Hollansburg, with Pastor Joe Hanna officiating.

Paul Eugene Garrett age 91, of Greenville passed away at 3:24 AM on Sunday, June 18, 2017, at the Brethren Retirement Community in Greenville. Paul was born November 1, 1925, in Rossburg to the late John Orville & Rowena Agnes (Westfall) Garrett.

Paul is survived by his wife, Judith “Coleen” (Flannery) Garrett; children, Teresa Jo & Dale Galis of South Elgin, Illinois, Pat Eugene & Karen Garrett of Crystal Lake, Illinois, Rebecca Ann & Jim Harris of Claremore, Oklahoma and Daniel Jay & Brenda Garrett of Altoona, Iowa; step-children, Larry & Karole Hamilton of Venice, Florida, Wayne Hamilton of Umatilla, Florida, Cindy Henninger of Greenville, Lisa Brickler of Greenville and Angela & Bryan Hart of Troy; 8 grandchildren and 14 step-grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren and 18 step-great grandchildren; brother, Art & Carol Garrett of Godfrey, Illinois; sisters, Susie Clark of Greenville, Nancy Shiverdecker of Greenville and Sandra Grillot of Greenville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Paul was also preceded in death by his 1st wife, Mary Mae (Miller) Garrett; son-in-law, Jeff Jonsson; brothers, John Henry, Lewis, Roger and James Garrett; and sisters, Germaine Buckingham and Donna Kissinger.

Paul served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Paul retired from Abbott Laboratories in Lake Forest, Illinois where he was an electronic engineer. Paul’s number 1 passion was radio controlled airplanes; he loved working on them and designing electronic components for them. Paul invented radio controlled speed controllers for model airplanes. Paul also had a patent for a liquid crystal display in blood diagnostic machines. He had a fondness for music and could play many musical instruments, most recently the dulcimer. Paul was a member of the Triumphant Christian Center in Greenville.

A celebration of Paul’s life will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, June 23, 2017, at the Triumphant Christian Center 1129 South Town Court Greenville with Rev. Sam Shilot officiating and full military honors conducted by the Greenville Veteran’s Honor Guard. Burial will be in Harris Creek Cemetery in Bradford at a later date. The family will receive friends on Friday from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Triumphant Christian Center in Greenville. Jack Sharp (June 16, 2017)

Jack Sharp, 85, passed away on Friday, June 16, 2017 at Village Green Health Campus in Greenville.

Jack was born on November 20, 1931 in Greenville, to the late Charles and Mabel (Mann) Sharp.

In addition to his parents, Jack is preceded in death by his daughters, Carolyn Mendenhall and Becky Garland; his brothers, Wayne, Adrian, Max, and George Sharp; and his sister, Marjorie Strait.

Jack served his country honorably in the U.S. Army. Jack was an active member of St. Paul United Church of Christ. He loved spending time in his garden tending to his roses. Another talent of Jack’s was woodworking. During his life, many family and friends received his handmade gifts.

Jack is survived by his wife of 65 years, Joanne (Grow) Sharp of Greenville whom he married September 5,1951; his son and daughter-in-law, Nathan and Karen Sharp of Greenville; his grandchildren and their spouses, Chad and Melissa Anderson, Eric and Kerra Mendenhall, Rachael and Travis Brunk, Ryan Sharp, Katie Sharp, Greg and Amber Garland, and Michelle Garland; his great grandchildren, Kaylee, Carrina, Javin, Miles, Emerson, Cale and Waylon; his brothers and their spouses, Gerald and Arlene Sharp of Greenville, and Larry and Patty Sharp of Lancaster; his sister, JoAnn Thompson of Van Wert; sons-in-law, Gregg Mendenhall of Union City, OH and Jeff Garland of Muncie, IN; his sister-in-law, Judy Sharp of Rockhill, SC; his aunt, Mary Alice Redman of Greenville; and several nieces and nephews.

She is survived by her sons and daughter in law, Ira & Gail McClain of Bloomington, IL, and Dwight McClain of New Madison, OH; daughters, Sharon Petry of Urbana, OH, and Donna Alexander of Dayton, OH; 9 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; brother, Bob Orth of Florida; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Vernon D. McClain; sons in law, David Petry and Richard Alexander; and brother, Bill Orth.

She was a retired Nurses Aid after working at Wayne HealthCare for 17 years, Reid Hospital for 4 years as well as the Brethren Retirement Community. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Greenville and the Eastern Star. She loved sewing, fishing and spending time with family at holiday gatherings.

There will be a service held on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at 3:00 PM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio, with Pastor Peter Menke officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenmound Cemetery in New Madison, Ohio. Family will receive friends on Saturday from 1-3 PM at the funeral Home. There will be an Eastern Star service conducted on Saturday starting at 3:00 PM at the funeral home.

Ron E. Bruner, age 75, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at 12:45 PM at State of the Heart Care Center, Greenville, Ohio. He was born on June 5, 1942 in Darke County, Ohio, to the late Otho D. Bruner & Helen L. (Fourman) Bruner Brown.

Ron is survived by his wife Norma J. (Bey) Bruner of Greenville whom he married on December 3, 1988; children and spouses, Jeff & Jodi Bruner of Columbus, Shelley & Sean Weaver of Columbus, Matt & Chelsea Bruner of Greenville, Kim & Pete Davis of Greenville, William E. Bell of Springboro and Lynn & Tony Lewis of Greenville; grandchildren, Emily & Brad McIntyre, Derek & Laura Kagey, Spencer Lewis, Conner Lewis, Alex Bruner, Erin Bruner, Seth Weaver, Tara Weaver, Jordan Bell, Ethan Bell and Ashley Bell; great grandchildren, Everleigh & Atticus McIntyre; brothers, sisters and spouses, Rick Bruner of Arcanum, Sue and Steven Shaffer of Florida, Lynne & Harvey Hinshaw of Greenville and Don & Barbara Brown of Florida.; sisters in law, brother in law and spouses, Janet Mong of New York, Margie Dapore of Florida., Linda & John Grogean of Russia and David & Cyndi Bey of Versailles; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He retired in 1995 from Fram Corp. of Greenville where he had been employed for 35 years. Also had worked for 10 years at Ludy’s Greenhouse Manufacturing and drove the VA Bus part time for several years. Ron was a veteran of the US Army, member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Greenville, Knights of Columbus, Greenville VFW, American Legion and Moose Lodge. Ron was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He loved spending time with his family. His passion was woodworking and making pens where he won many ribbons at the fair. He enjoyed many winters in Florida with family and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, June 19, 2017 at 10:00 AM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 233 W. 3rd St., Greenville, Ohio, with Rev. Fr. John White celebrant and Deacon Tom Graber co-officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Greenville, Ohio, where the Versailles Veterans Honor Guard will conduct a Military Graveside Service. C. Dean Besecker (June 9, 2017)

C. Dean Besecker, age 72 of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 8:59 PM Friday June 9, 2017 at the State of the Heart Hospice Care Center in Greenville. Dean was born March 4, 1945 in Greenville and the son of the late Delvor Besecker and Garnett (Myers) “Besecker” Grodzensky and Step Father Bob Grodzensky.

Dean was the owner/operator of the Old Stage Kennels of Waynesville and had barbered for 26 years in West Milton. He was a member of the Methodist Church, a licensed pilot and a member of the RC Flying Club of Greenville.

In addition to his parents and step father he was preceded in death by his sister Linda Wehrley April 20, 1990.

Dean is survived by his wife Gail Ann (Skidmore) Besecker of Greenville. They were married November 21, 1972. Also children Christopher (Julie Moore) Besecker and Matthew (Michele) Besecker all of Troy, Tammy (Dave) Beals of Monroe and Jeffrey Besecker and friend Donna Bernardi of Connecticut; 16 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, 2 nieces, 1 nephew and numerous cousins.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 7:00 PM Monday June 26, 2017 in the Zechar Bailey Funeral Home Greenville, Ohio. The family will receive friends on Monday June 26th from 5:00 PM until time of the services in the funeral home. Pastor Jeff Harper will officiate the services.

Robert Eugene Lyme (June 10, 2017)

Robert Eugene Lyme, 80, passed away on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at Village Green Health Campus in Greenville.

Robert was born on June 20, 1936 in Union City, IN, to the late Orville and Geraldine (Hummel) Lyme.

In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his infant brother, Orville Lyme, a grandson, Keith Lyme and a brother-in-law, Fred Worch.

Robert served his country honorably in the U.S. Army. He owned and operated Dawn Grain and Supply for 40 years. He was a member of Ansonia First Church of God, a member of the International and past president of the Ohio Flying Farmers and a former member and past president of the Ansonia Kiwanis, and was member of the Ansonia Fourth of July Committee. Bob was also a big supporter of the Darke County Youth for Christ. He enjoyed spending the winters in Florida with his wife, loved to go fishing at Lake Okeechobee and enjoyed flying his air plane.

Robert is survived by his wife of 61 years, Janice (House) Lyme of Greenville whom he married April 27,1956; his sons and daughters-in-law, Douglas (Jeanne) Lyme of Greenville, Donald (Lynda) Lyme of Tennessee, Dale (Joyce) Lyme of Greenville; grandchildren, Christina (CJ) Kroner, Jennifer (Sean) Homan, Niki (Justin) Conly, Stacie (Craig) Koesters, and Elizabeth (Travis) Winston: 9 great grandchildren; his brother and sister-in-law, Ronald (Tina) Lyme of Ansonia; his sister, Dorothy Worch of New Madison; and several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Thursday, June 15, 2017 at 10:30 AM At Oliver Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville with Pastor Derek Specht officiating. Burial will follow in Greenville Township Memorial Gardens with full military graveside honors conducted by the Greenville Honor Guard.

Mary Ann Ruff, 76, passed away on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at the State of the Heart Care Center in Greenville.

Mary was born on May 9,1941 in Fayette County, West Virginia to the late Elizabeth Jane (Sheaves) Snow.

In addition to her mother, Mary is preceded in death by her first husband, Lawrence Lester, her second husband, Edward Ruff and her sister, Caroline.

Mary enjoyed crocheting, drawing and solving word searches.

Frederick H. “Fred” Worch (June 9, 2017)

Frederick H. “Fred” Worch, 79, of New Madison, passed away Friday, June 9, 2017 at Wayne Hospital Emergency Room. He was born October 22, 1937 in New Madison, OH to the late G. Harry and Bertie (Brown) Worch.

In addition to his parents, Fred was preceded in death by his sisters, Norma (Worch) Stanley and Lucille (Worch) Ward; and his brother, Harold Worch.

During his career Fred worked at Fram in Greenville, Dairy Maid in Greenville and shortly after became a full-time, well-known dairy and grain farmer in Darke County. Farming became Fred’s life work! Fred enjoyed auto racing, going to flea markets, antique tractors, gardening and spending time with friends and family.

Fred was a lifelong member of the New Madison First United Methodist Church. He served his community as a devoted elected official. Fred was a trustee for Liberty Township for 10 years and served on the Darke County Fair board for over 12 years. He also served in organizations which serve to make a difference in the lives of others. Fred was a member of the National Farmers Organization, the Farmers Union, the Masonic Lodge #143, Scottish Rite Valley of Dayton Shrine, Blue Lodge and was a member of various antique organizations.

Fred is survived by his wife of 60 years, Dorothy (Lyme) Worch, whom he married June 16,1956; his son and daughter-in-law, David (Judy) Worch of Hollansburg; his daughters and sons-in-law, Kathryn (David) Royer of Greenville, and Kimberly (Mark) Cooley of Greenville; his grandchildren, Jeremy Worch, Chris Worch, Stacie (Worch) Davis, Jennifer Worch, Damon Cooley, Matt Cooley, Jeff Royer, Danny Royer and Travis Royer; 13 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Tuesday, June 13,2017 at 10:30 AM at the Oliver Floyd Funeral Home with Pastor Eric Laux officiating. Burial will be held in the Palestine Cemetery.

Timothy Lee Bright (June 2, 2017)

Timothy Lee Bright, 67, passed away on June 2, 2017 at State of the Heart Care Center in Greenville.

Tim was born on September 27, 1949 in Greenville, OH, to the late Paul and Ruby (Clark) Bright.

In addition to his parents, Tim was preceded in death by his brother, Stephen Bright.

Tim was a history buff, mechanic and engineer. He has owned, built and raced numerous drag racers and was a Corvette connoisseur. He was an outdoorsman and loved to fish. He was a driven and meticulous craftsman working with wood and copper to create beautiful family heirlooms that have been distributed to all his family. Tim was a devoted and very active member of the EUM Church and was always excited about worshiping and praising the Lord. Tim was an amazing husband, father and man in general. His children strived to be like him and he taught them the values of hard work, loyalty and honesty. He had an infectious smile. He is dearly loved and will be greatly missed.

Tim is survived by his wife, Connie (St. Myers) Bright, whom he married September 25, 2009; his children and their spouses, Christopher and wife Heather Bright of Dayton, Laura and husband Sean Benson of Gilbert, Arizona; step-children and their spouses, Darrick and wife Hettie Hueber of Fort Collins, Colorado, Christina and husband Roger Bowersock of Greenville, and Joseph and his wife Lora Hueber of Greenville; seven grandchildren, Hunter Benson, Ruby and Cora Hueber, Josilyn Worden, Izzabelle Bowersock, Lydia and Annabelle Hueber; three siblings, Phil and wife Marie Bright of Hilton Head, South Carolina, Fran and husband Gene Brubaker of Greenville, Dennis and wife Cindy Bright of Arcanum; and a sister-in-law, Donna Bright of Troy. Tim also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 7:00 PM, Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at EUM Church downtown campus, 111 Devor Street, Greenville, with Pastor Jeff Harper officiating. Burial will follow in Abbottsville Cemetery at a later date.

Gary Elvin Eley (May 30, 2017)

Gary Elvin Eley, 71, of Homosassa, FL, passed away on May 30, 2017, formerly of Eldorado, Ohio.

Gary was born on September 10, 1945 in Greenville, Ohio, to the late Lloyd and Bette (Shiverdecker) Eley.

In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by his brother, Bruce Eley.

Gary was a retired railroad engineer from DT&I railroad. He was a United States Army Veteran serving in Korea, and a lifetime member of the American Legion, currently at the New Madison Post 245. He was a member of the Arcanum Masonic Lodge 295. Gary enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, camping and hunting. He loved to travel and telling stories about his railroad days. Gary was a mechanic and wood worker. He enjoyed to collect and restore antique IH Cub Cadet garden tractors and was an avid coin collector. Gary was a loving husband and loved spending time with family and friends.

Gary is survived by his wife Vicky (Latch) Eley whom he married April 12, 1990; his children, Richard and wife Becky Eley of South Charleston, Ohio, Ronald and wife Jennifer of Camden, Ohio, Robert and wife Loida Eley of Roy, Utah, Randel and Wife Tamie Eley of Arcanum, Ohio, and Adam Amerman of Centerville, Indiana; 11 grandchildren, Josh and wife Theresa Eley, Tyler Eley, Ronny and wife Heather Eley, Josh Brown, Tyler Brown, Kody Eley, Krystal and husband Brad Bush, Devon Eley, Hannah Eley, Jessie Masterson, Allyson Masterson, Savanna Spencer and A.J. Jerry Lee Tinkham, 61 of Greenville, Ohio passed away on Saturday June 3, 2017 at 1:34 PM at his residence. He was a well-known DJ from the Brass Rail Lounge in the 80s.

Robert ”Bob” C. Murphy ,85, of Greenville, passed away Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at Dayton VA Hospice. He was born June 5, 1932 in New Lebanon, OH to the late Howard and Ruth (Brown) Murphy.

In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his brother, Charlie Murphy; his sister, Mabel Hunt; and his sister-in-law, Marilyn Murphy.

Bob served his country honorably in the U.S. Army. He has been a member of the DAV for over 50 years. Bob had formerly owned and operated Murphy’s Plumbing, Heating and Air. He had also worked many years for Rammel and Sons Plumbing. Bob loved working with wood and even built handmade furniture. He took pride in making his yard and garden look spectacular.

Bob is survived by his wife of 62 years, Lucy (Young) Murphy, whom he married October 23,1954; his son, Patrick Murphy of Greenville; his brother, Leroy Murphy of Greenville; numerous nieces and nephews.

Linda R. Boltin, age 52 of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 9:22 AM Tuesday June 6, 2017 at the State of the Heart Care Center in Greenville. Linda was born September 17, 1964 in Greenville, Ohio and the daughter of Lidia (Siegert) Goehrich of Gettysburg and the late Emil Goehrich.

Linda was a teacher for over 26 years and enjoyed teaching students from Junior High through High School. Linda always enjoyed teaching young students the basics of home economics, specifically sewing and cooking. Linda will be remembered for her love of her family and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her father she was preceded in death by her brother-in-law Mark Boltin.

Linda’s survivors in addition to her mother are her husband David Boltin and sons Matthew and Jeffrey Boltin of Greenville; brothers Alfred (Mary) Goehrich and Robert Goehrich all of Gettysburg; sister Lily (Mark) Lewis of Greenville; sister-in-law Missy (Steve) Harris of Springboro, Ohio ; mother and father-in-law Gloria and William Boltin of Greenville; niece Rachel Lewis; nephews Daniel Lewis, Eric Goehrich, Adam Goehrich, Brandon Harris and Jacob Harris; great nieces Emilia Hunter and Lauryn Goehrich and great nephews Dylan Goehrich and Cade Lewis.

Steven Marshall Dakin (June 1, 2017)

Steven Marshall Dakin, 26, of Ansonia, passed away on Monday, June 1, 2017. He was born on January 4, 1991 in Greenville to Fred Dakin III of Rossburg and Linda Smith of Greenville.

Steven was preceded in death maternal grandmother, Anna Marie Smith, paternal grandparents, Fred Everett Dakin Jr. and Barbara Jean Rose.

Steven was employed at Pressure It Power Washing in Ansonia. He was a 2009 graduate of Greenville High School. Steven was an avid collector of Miami Dolphins memorabilia and active member of social media groups like Phin Nation and Phin Fans. He was active in his children’s sporting activities and even helped to coach their teams. Most of all, Steven enjoyed spending time with his family.

Steven is survived by his father and fiancé, Fred Dakin III and Marcia Nieport of Rossburg; mother and fiancé, Linda Smith and John Sexton of Greenville; maternal grandfather, Jim Smith Sr, of Union City; step mother of 23 years, Missy Dakin of Fort Recovery; fiancé, Marissa Dillman of Ansonia; sons, Jaden, Kieran, Kamran, Klayten, all at home; brothers, Fred Dakin IV of Tennessee and Dustin and Melissa Hall of Ansonia; sisters, Jennifer Fourman of Fort Recovery and Ashley Dakin of Greenville; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Monday, June 5, 2017 at 10:30 AM at Oliver Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville with Rev. Rick Tennison, Pastor, Greenville Worship Center officiating. Burial will follow in Abbottsville Cemetery

Charleigh Esmé Hart (May 23, 2017)

Charleigh Esmé Hart was born, sleeping, on May 23, 2017 at home. Charleigh was brought into this world surrounded by the love of daddy and mommy.

Such tiny hands wrapped around our hearts and filled us full of love in a matter of seconds. “An angel in the book of life wrote down my baby’s date of birth, then she whispered as she closed the book ‘Too beautiful for Earth’”.

Charleigh is living life through parents, Jared and Jorden (Price) Hart and siblings, Sophia and Rylen Hart all of Rossburg. Also providing memory of our angel is maternal grandparents, Scott and Kelli Price of New Madison; paternal grandparents, James Sr. and Dawn Hart of New Weston; great grandparents, Marion and Shirley Price of Rockford, and Eugene and Melody Noggler of Rosehill; as well as aunts and uncles, Dylen Price and Riley Hollinger of New Madison, Kyli Hart and Justin Schoenlein of Union City, James Hart of Indiana, and Jake Hart of Greenville. Julia M. (O’Reilly) Mangen (May 28, 2017)

Julia M. (O’Reilly) Mangen slipped away to heaven early Sunday morning, May 28, 2017. She was born March 22, 1927 in McCartyville, Ohio to her late parents, James and Angela (Behr) O’Reilly. Proud of her Irish heritage, the family tradition was to celebrate her birthday with a St. Patrick’s day theme. On August 7, 1946, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in McCartyville, Julia married the love of her life, George Mangen. He preceded her in death on, February 7, 2009; their 62 and half year anniversary. Julia is survived by her children Barbara (Fred) Labo of Honey Brook, Pennsylvania, Tony (Joanne) of Houston, Jerry (Deb) of Cedar Vale, Kansas, Dan of Tralcao, Chile, David, of Greenville, Traci (Steve) Kirner of Troy, and Rose (Bill) Biehl, of Fort Worth, Texas; also by children-in-law, Mary Ann Mangen and Chris Pehoski, of Amherst, Wisconsin, Cheryl Grider of Lawton, Oklahoma, and Tom Timmerman of Ft. Loramie. Two sons, Michael and Allen, daughter, Mary Ann Timmerman, grandchildren Jackie Labo and Joe Mangen, and 10 siblings preceded her in death. She is also survived by her siblings, Ruth Ann Walter, Leo (Norma) O’Reilly, in-laws Terentia Zumberger, John (Dorothy) Mangen, Juanita Hake and Sr. Maureen Mangen. She was Grandmother to 34 and Great-grandmother to 40.

She was a member of St. Denis Catholic Church in Versailles. She served the Funeral Choir, funeral dinners, Ladies Sodality and Prayer Chain. She also participated in the Friends of the Library.

After her marriage to George in 1946, the pair farmed acreage in Frenchtown; moving to Russia in 1966 where they made a home for their children until 1988 when they retired to Versailles. Julia was the epitome of a loving wife and mother, a seamstress and excellent cook; hard-working, resourceful and the hub of family life. She and George enjoyed gardening, playing cards and square dancing. They traveled to Switzerland, Rome, Austria, Chile, and the American west to visit far-flung family and friends. Julia maintained contact with many loved ones through cards and letters – mastering email in order to reach out to younger generations. Always the avid reader and games-smith, she enjoyed books on CD as her eyesight weakened. A devout Catholic, who believed in the power of intercessory prayer, her daily meditations were a cornerstone of her faith and an anchor for her family.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 3rd at St. Denis Church in Versailles with the Rev. Haft Celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Valbert Cemetery. A fellowship luncheon will follow in St. Denis church basement. Friends may call Friday, June 2nd from 2 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9 to 10 a.m. at Bailey-Zechar funeral home in Versailles. I. Arlene Runner, of New Madison, Ohio, entered into the arms of her Savior on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at 2:40 AM at Heartland of Greenville. She was born on February 12, 1933 in Darke County, Ohio, to the late Robert Bruce & Opal Alice (Pretzman) Skidmore.

Arlene is survived by her daughters and son in law, Deborah Rhoades of Monticello, Minnesota, and Denise & Roger Stahl of Greenville; son and daughter in law, David & Susie Runner of Louisville, Kentucky; grandchildren, Amanda Rhoades, Alyssa Rhoades, Tyler (Rachel) Kuhn, Devanny (Tommy) Boisert, Jeremy Stahl and Kyle (Jessica) Stahl; great grandchildren, Brooks Kuhn, Isabel Ochieng, Isaiah Ochieng, Waylon Stahl and Hunter Stahl; brother and sister in law, William & Betty Skidmore of Maryland; sister, Teresa Geraldine VanDine of Greenville; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Paul Runner whom she married on August 25, 1951 and son in law, Michael Rhoades.

Arlene was a member of the Palestine Church of Christ where she played the organ and was a former Sunday school teacher. She worked at Council of Rural Services for 13 years, Darke County Mental Health for 7 years, Sheller Globe in Union City for 12 years and then Fram for 11 years. She was a member of the Eastern Star and Darke County Farm Bureau. Arlene loved music and was a piano teacher. She was very proud of the fact that she received her Associates Degree from Edison Community College at the age of 60.

There will be a service held on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at 10:00 AM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio, with Pastor Mike Simmons officiating. Burial will follow in the Palestine Cemetery, Palestine, Ohio. Family will receive friends on Friday, June 2, 2017 from 5-8 PM at the funeral home.

Russell G. McWhinney (May 29, 2017)

Russell G. McWhinney age 75 of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 2:09 PM Monday May 29, 2017 at the Rest Haven Nursing Home Greenville. Russell was born August 14, 1941 in Grand Rapids, Michigan and the son of the late Boyd Gordon and Lois Jeanette (Redman) McWhinney.

He was retired from Bing Lear of Berne, Indiana as an estimating engineer and was a veteran serving in the U.S. National Guard.

Russell was a member of the Toy Tractor Club, John Deere Two Cylinder Club, the Greenville American Legion, enjoyed yard work, his Mini Farm, hunting and NASCAR.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Jennifer (Williams) McWhinney and unborn son October 15, 1980, 2nd wife Judy McWhinney and Sister Suzanne Verburg.

Russell is survived by his son and daughter in law Gabriel (Jennifer) McWhinney of St. Paris, Ohio; grandchildren Kylie, Cora, Landon and Gavin McWhinney; brothers Jerry (Elaine) McWhinney of Middleville, MI., Marvin (Patricia) McWhinney of Hastings, MI. and Bruce (Marilyn) McWhinney of Middleville, MI.; sister Cheryl McWhinney of Middleville, MI., brother in law Richard Verburg of Howard City, MI; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a Special Friend Annette Buzard.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday June 3, 2017 at the Zechar Bailey Funeral Home Greenville, Ohio. Burial will follow in the Greenville Township Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Friday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.

Helen P. Hoover (May 24, 2017)

Helen P. Hoover, 95, of New Madison, went to be with the Lord on May 24, 2017 at the Brethren Retirement Community in Greenville.

Helen was born August 3, 1921 in Gilmore County, West Virginia, to the late Charles and Frances (Ratcliff) Lamb.

In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her first husband, Herald Williams in 1941, and her second husband, Kenneth Hoover, in 1969; two sisters, Ina and Bonnie; three brother, Lynn, Claude and Harley.

Helen was a quality control inspector for Corning Glass retiring after 27 years and belonged to the Corning Retirees. She loved to read and was active with the New Madison Library. She was a member of the Widows Club, Unit 245 of the American Legion Auxiliary in New Madison, and a 50+ year member of the Eastern Star, Fort Black Chapter.

Helen is survived by her Son, Harold Duane and wife Patricia Hoover of New Paris; two grandchildren, Joseph and wife Jona Hoover of Greenville, and Christal McConnell and her special friend Mark of Kalida, Ohio; four great grandchildren, Catherine Nicholson, Cassandra McConnell, Coy McConnell and Emma Hoover; one step great grandchild, JohnRay Aboa; and one great-great grandchild, Silas Gile; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside memorial service will be held at 11am Friday, June 2, 2017 at Greenmound Cemetery with pastor Kyle Herrmann officiating.

Raymond Edward “Lefty” Westfall (May 26, 2017)

Raymond Edward “Lefty” Westfall, 91 of Greenville, Ohio passed away on Friday May 26, 2017 at 9:41 PM at Rest Haven Nursing Home, Greenville, Ohio. He was born December 13, 1925 in Greenville, Ohio the son of the late Edward & Tillie (Mucie) Westfall.

He worked at Hobart for 43 years as a Cost Accountant. He served in the United States Army during World War II and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. He was a 57 year member of the Greenville Masonic Lodge #143 and was master of the lodge in 1968; he had also been a member of the Scottish Rite Valley of Dayton.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife: Barbara Westfall whom he married June 19, 1948; brothers: William Westfall & twin brothers Charles Richard, & Robert Francis Westfall; sisters: Ann Rehmert, Elizabeth Studebaker, Thelma Oler, & Margaret Viola Westfall.

He is survived by his daughter & son in law: Janet & David Wenning of Greenville; son & daughter in law: David & Angela Westfall of Greenville; grandchildren: Amanda Flory, Rochelle Wright, Matthew Wenning, Brian Westfall, Elizabeth Wenning, Justin Westfall; numerous great grandchildren; brother in law: Robert Oler.

Services will be held on Thursday June 1, 2017 at 10:30 AM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio with Pastor Don Myers, Pastor Joe Soley & Pastor Japeth Bear officiating. Burial will follow in Greenville Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday May 31, 2017 at the funeral home. A Masonic Memorial Service will be conducted by the Greenville Masonic Lodge at 7:45 PM on Wednesday at the funeral home. Miriam L. “Mickey” Dunn (May 28, 2017)

Miriam L. “Mickey” Dunn, 96, of Greenville, passed away Sunday, May 28, 2017 at Rest Haven Nursing Home. She was born April 26, 1921 in Mt. Auburn, IN, to the late Gilbert and Sarah (Williams) Hunt.

In addition to her parents, Mickey is preceded in death by her husband, James Dunn, whom she married November 8, 1941; her brother, Harold Hunt; and her sister, Jennie Koncz.

Mickey loved listening to and playing organ music. She enjoyed going swimming and dancing.

Mickey is survived by her daughters, Colleen Dalbey of Greenville and Maureen Pease of Troy; her grandchildren, Anita Dunn-Dalbey of New Madison, Matthew (Kelly) Pease of Eaton, and Kevin Pease (Samantha Jesse) of New Madison; her great grandchildren, Chelsea Wysong, Cody Petry, Kayla Pease, Kirstin Pease and Grant Heiser; a great great granddaughter, Teagan Wysong; and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff at Rest Haven for the special care they gave to Mickey during her time there.

Burial will be held in the Greenmound Cemetery at the convenience of the family.

Travis Lee Foutz (May 23, 2017)

Travis Lee Foutz, age 35, of Bend, Oregon, and formerly of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at St. Charles Hospital in Bend, Oregon. He was born on October 3, 1981 in Burlington, North Carolina.

Travis is survived by his Mother, Arlene (Everett) Garland, Father, Keith (Peggy) Foutz, Grandmother, Gerry Honeycutt all of Greenville, and brother, Brian (Genny) Foutz of Bend, OR.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Harry and Betty Foutz, and his Great Grandmother Mary Cooper of Greenville. .

Travis worked as an Operations Manager at Ibex in Bend, OR. He loved playing the guitar and many different forms of music and played with several bands in the Bend, Oregon area. He loved his best friend and brother, Brian most of all.

There will be a memorial service held on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio, with John Schmidt officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Catherine (Platt) Thomas (May 19, 2017)

Catherine (Platt) Thomas, 97, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Friday May 19, 2017 at 12:39 PM at the Brethren Retirement Community.

She was born on March 3, 1920 in Whitewater, Indiana, daughter of the late Omer and Ina (Jones) Platt.

She was a retired Dairy Farmer raising Holstein Friesian Cattle in Hollansburg community. A retired member if the Holstein Friesian state and national association, and Coba and Darke Rural Electric, she was also a member of the Hollansburg Christian Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, R. Harrison (Harry) Thomas; brothers-in-law Karl Thomas and Myron Thomas, nephews, Darrell Thomas, Dicky Joe Metzcer; and niece Mary Hart.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Juanita Thomas; daughters and sons-in-law, Patty and Don York and Paula and Terry DeWeese; four grandsons; one granddaughter; three great-grandsons; and sister-in-law, Eileen Dill; as well as nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of life will be held on Saturday June 3, 2017 at 10:00 AM at the Brethren Retirement Community Chapel, 750 Chestnut Street, Greenville, Ohio. A private graveside service will be held at the Hollansburg Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hollansburg Christian Church, the Brethren Retirement Community Resident Aid Fund, or State of the Heart Care.
