Bernard Christopher “Bernie” Treon, age 52, of Versailles, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, August 13, 2015 at 12:07 AM at West Jefferson Medical Center, Marrero, LA. He was born on October 16, 1962 in Greenville, Ohio, to George & Sharon (Goffena) Treon of Versailles, OH, and Alpena, MI.
In addition to his parents he is survived by his brother and sister in law, Frank & Jenny Treon of Versailles; sister and brother in law, Kim & Terry Murphy of Versailles; nephews and nieces, Don (Ashley) Brocious of Piqua, OH, Michael Treon of Miamisburg, OH, Kelsey Treon of Miamisburg, OH, Thomas Murphy of Versailles, OH, and William Murphy of Versailles, OH; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Herman & Alma Treon; maternal grandparents, Ralph & Isabelle Goffena; and niece Kerri Murphy.
Bernie worked for Daybrook Fisheries in Empire, LA as a cook on the Sea Wolf. He enjoyed cooking, playing pool, spending time with friends and family, and had a great love for children. Many of his friends called him their brother and their children called him uncle. Bernie was a Gentle Giant with a heart of gold.
There will be a memorial gathering held on Friday, August 21, 2015 from 4-7 PM at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home, Versailles, Ohio. There will be memorial service held on Friday at 7:00 PM at the funeral home with Rev. Fr. David Vincent officiating. There will be a private burial held at the convenience of the family.

Elvin Hittle, 97, of Greenville, passed away Saturday evening, August 15, 2015 at the Union City Care Center in Union City, OH.
A lifelong resident of Darke County, He was born June 9, 1918, son of the late Stanley and Lova (Booker) Hittle. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Kathryn (Meehan) Hittle on August 9, 1990; a brother and a sister.
Elvin was a farmer, a realtor in Darke County, worked at DeKalb Seed in Greenville and had several rental properties. He loved to work on bicycles and enjoyed flea markets.
He is survived by his good friend, Janet Feurer, nieces, nephews, cousins, and neighbors.
Services will be held at 4 p.m., Thursday, August 20 at the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville with Rev. Eric Knight officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenville Cemetery.

Mary had worked at the former Lambert's in Ansonia. She was a member of the Darke County Steam Threshers and the Tri-State Gas Engine Association of Portland, IN.
She is survived by a daughter, Mary Jane (Gail Dean) Edwards of Ansonia; sons, Larry (Judy) Thornhill, Douglas (Cheryl) Thornhill and Gregory (Roxie) Thornhill all of Rossburg; 14 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren and one great grandchild on the way; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Scott “Scooter” Mullins, age 60 of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 3:20 A.M. Sunday July 19, 2015 at the Heartland Nursing Home Greenville, Ohio. Scott was born February 8, 1955 in Greenville, Ohio and the son of the late William V. and Hazel L. (Deeter) Mullins.
Scott was a professional welder and worked at Fram/Honeywell Corporation of Greenville for 35 years. He was also a member of the Outcasts Motorcycle Club of Dayton and the 12 Step Fellowship Program for 31years.

Coleman Wages, 85, of New Madison, passed away on Aug. 10, 2015, at Reid Hospital in Richmond, Indiana. He was born on Dec. 16, 1929, in Mount Sterling, Kentucky, to the late Walden and Viney (Purvis) Wages.
Coleman was a Harrison Township trustee, a union steward at Dana Perfect Circle in Richmond, Indiana. He was also a member of the American Legion in New Madison.
In addition to his parents, Coleman was preceded in death by a sister, Crystal McKee; brother, Paul Wages; sister, Beulah Kincaid; sister-in-law, Ruth Wages; brother-in-law, John Kincaid; and son, Benjamin Wages.

Hittle of Columbus, Ohio; granddaughter, Stephanie (Ben) Leugers; great grandchildren, Elijah, Wyatt and Olivia Leugers; sisters and brother in law, Janet Drew and Joy & Jim Albright both of Greenville; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Leonard East; brothers, Harold, William, Parl and George Townsend; and sister, Betty Brown.
Shirley was a self-employed beautician for over 20 years at Blue Bonnett Beauty Shop in Greenville and also worked in the office at the Brethren Retirement Community for over 20 years. She was a member of First Congregational Christian Church. She was an avid Cincinnati Reds fan, was a Rosie Red for many years and was a volunteer for several organizations.
There will be a service held on Monday, August 17, 2015 at 2:30 PM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio, with Pastor Don Myers officiating. Burial will follow in the Abbottsville Cemetery, Darke County, Ohio. Family will receive friends on Monday from 12:30 – 2:30 PM at the funeral home.

George A. Shade, age 73, of New Madison, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at his residence. He was born on Dec. 20, 1941 in Darke County, Ohio, to the late Carl & Mildred (Young) Shade.
He graduated from Ansonia High School in 1959. He was employed at McCalls and Newsweek Magazine in Dayton prior to opening the Harley Davidson Dealership in Richmond, IN in 1976. He was a life member of Treaty City Motorcycle Club, Harley Owners Group and the White Water Valley Hog Chapter. The loves of his life besides his family were farming and riding his motorcycle.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Louise A. (Klinger) Shade; son, Greg Shade of Russia; daughter, Kim (Jon) Keller of Arcanum; brothers, Kent Shade of Toledo and Michael (Linda) Shade of South Carolina; sisters, Carol (Roy) Burnett of Rhode Island and Donna (Robert) Herron of Greenville; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Carl D. Niswonger, age 84 of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 1:21 P.M. Tuesday August 11, 2015 in the emergency room of Wayne Healthcare Center. He was born September 20, 1930 in Darke County Ohio and the son of the late Basil and Hazel (Seibel) Niswonger.
Carl was retired as a truck driver, lastly with the Yellow Trucking Company of Richmond, Indiana. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving as a Medic with the U.S. Army. Also was a member of the Greenville V.F.W., enjoyed camping and time spent with his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Mary Lois (Small) Niswonger; brothers Ray and Kenneth and sister Edith Baker.
Carl is survived by his son and daughter in law Michael & Patricia Niswonger of Versailles; grandchildren Michelle (Jason) Crow and Mathew (Jamie) Niswonger; great grandchildren Jon Crow, Thomas Crow, Caitlyn Crow, Ben Crow, Reese Niswonger and Avery Niswonger as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was born March 27, 1951, in Greenville, Ohio, a daughter of Rozella (Miller) and the late Robert J. Goeke. In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by her brother, Robert Thomas Goeke and brother-in-law David Edger.
Jennifer had worked a K-Mart for over 30years. She enjoyed reading, attending her grandchildren’s events and was an avid corvette enthusiast.
She is survived by her husband, Charles Samuel “Sam” Edger, whom she married January 31, 1970; children, Cynthia Davidson and Eric (Brandi) Edger both of Greenville; 5 grandchildren, Chase Miller, Michael Sargent, Dakota Edger, Alycia Davidson, Chelsi Edger; 5 great grandchildren; brothers, James Goeke of Boston, Mass and John Goeke of Panama City, FL.; Brothers and Sisters-in-law, Steve (Brenda) Edger and Mark (Sondra) Edger, both of Greenville; Mother and Father-in-law, George (Ruby) Edger, of Greenville; dear friends, Gene (Patty) Fitzwater; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Robert is survived by his wife, Darlene (Clack) Boone whom he married November 9, 1968; sons & daughters-in-law, Robert Lee Boone II & wife, Cindilyn of Knoxville, Tennessee and Edward Lawrence Boone & wife, Cheryl of Richmond, Virginia; grandchildren, Michael Boone, Lillian Boone, Graham Boone and Sophie Boone; brothers & sister-in-law, Dennis Boone of Springfield, Ohio and John & Jane Boone of West Milton, Ohio; sisters & brothers-in-law, Carolyn & Ron Walters of St. Paris, Ohio and Linda & Larry Brown of Denver, Colorado; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Robert was also preceded in death by a sister, Kay Boone.
Robert was a truck driver.

Jerome Daniel Ray Thompson, 42, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on August 4, 2015 in Xenia, Ohio. Daniel was born on September 12, 1972 in Richmond, Indiana to Sharon (Wintrow) Thompson of Greenville and the late Lee Thompson.
Daniel worked in Traveling Concessions.

Freda Hensley, 88 of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday August 5, 2015 at 7:02 PM at Wayne Healthcare, Greenville, Ohio. She was born April 12, 1927 in Louisa, Kentucky the daughter of the late Alonzo & Maude (Cooper) Wellman. She retired from Rikes then worked as a Bail Bondsman at the Darke County Courts; she also helped with the Darke County Fuller Center Restore. She loved flowers and working in her garden.
She is preceded in death by her parents; and her husband: Dewey Hensley Jr. whom she married April 22, 1946.
She is survived by her sons: James Edward Hensley of Moraine, Ohio and John Martin Hensley of Greenville.

B. Nicholas “Nick” Cox, age 67 of Greenville, Ohio and formerly of Ansonia passed away at 12:40 P.M. Wednesday August 5, 2015 at the State of the Heart Hospice Care Center Greenville, Ohio. Nick was born January 11, 1948 in Darke County Ohio and the son of the late R. Byron and Norene E. (Petry) Cox.
Nick was retired after 40 plus years in the insurance business as the former owner of R B Cox and Vannoy Cox Insurance Agencies of Ansonia and Greenville respectively. Also he was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Greenville, former member of the Board of Directors of Greenville National Bank, ESC Board, Wayne Hospital Board, the former HOPE Foundation Board, Darke County Chamber of Commerce, and AAA Board of Directors. Nick was also a member of the Darke County O.S.U. Alumni Association, Ansonia Athletic Boosters, Greenville Elks Lodge and had chaired the Annie Oakley Golf Outing as a major fund raiser for the Cancer Association of Darke County.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers in law Mike and Dave Muhlenkamp and sister in law Jane Muhlenkamp.

She was a homemaker and had been employed for 14 and half years at Stanley Products of Covington and 3 years with Neff Lettering.
Georgia was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church of Greenville and had been an Executive Board Member for the Darke County Humane Society for 17 years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband James M. Wills February 2, 1970. They were married May 3, 1943. Also by her brothers Johnnie and Richard Morrison and aunt Bessie Lowe.
She is survived by her son Richard (Karla) Wills of Greenville; foster daughter Judy Francis of Greenville; grandson Dustin James (Megan) Wills and great grandchildren Cameron R. She was born July 25, 21945 in New Hampton, Iowa, daughter of the late Wayne E. and Rita Marie (Brown) Bodmer. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Doug Bodmer.

Anna Lee (Landers) Dawson, 88 of Ansonia, Ohio went to be with the Lord on Saturday August 1, 2015 at 9:00 PM at her residence after a courageous journey with cancer. She was born October 7, 1926 in Randolph County, Indiana, the daughter of the late Carl R. & Grace E. (Flory) Landers. She was a 1944 graduate of Greenville High School. She retired from Fram Corp in 1983. During her years she enjoyed sewing and decorating the house especially for holidays. She also enjoyed riding in the semi for several years with her husband Frank. In her early years she worked with her family at Bakers Fruit Farm in Fort Jefferson, Ohio which she co-owned.
She was a member of First Baptist Church where she was on the decorating committee and the kitchen committee; Fort Black Eastern Star of New Madison; White Shrine of Dayton; Eagles; & Fram Retirees.
She is preceded in death by her parents; sister & brother in law: Joyce & Duane Troutwine.

Samuel J. “Sam” Barga, 19, of Greenville, passed away Saturday evening, August 1, 2015, from injuries sustained in an auto accident near New Madison.
He was born December 6, 1995 in Greenville, son of Scott F. and Linda S. (Rinker) Barga of Greenville.
Sam was a 2014 graduate of Greenville High School. He was a HVAC technician with Barga Heating, A/C and Refrigeration. He was a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Greenville.

Jennifer Marie Yoder, 33, of Union City, Ohio, passed away at Union City Care Center, Friday, July 31, 2015.
She was born October 9, 1981 in Union City, Indiana, a daughter of Lisa Ralston and Delmar Hall, both of Union City, Ohio. Jennifer was preceded in death by her brother, Delmar WJ Hall, Jr.
Jennifer loved her family and friends and never knew a stranger. She adored her dog, Spuds Mackenzie, who also preceded her in death.
In addition to her parents, Jennifer is survived by her sister, Lisa Hall and her brother Steven Davis, Jr., both of Union City, Ohio; Tony Guzman and Nancy Ralston who were like siblings to her; her maternal grandmother, Margaret Ralston and paternal grandmother, Virginia Hall, both of Union City, Ohio; and she also leaves behind many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 11AM, Wednesday, August 5, 2015, at Reichard Funeral Home in Union City, Indiana with Chaplin Randy Reed officiating. Burial will follow in the Union City Cemetery.

Jennifer loved her family and friends and never knew a stranger. She adored her dog, Spuds Mackenzie, who also preceded her in death.
In addition to her parents, Jennifer is survived by her sister, Lisa Hall and her brother Steven Davis, Jr., both of Union City, Ohio; Tony Guzman and Nancy Ralston who were like siblings to her; her maternal grandmother, Margaret Ralston and paternal grandmother, Virginia Hall, both of Union City, Ohio; and she also leaves behind many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 11AM, Wednesday, August 5, 2015, at Reichard Funeral Home in Union City, Indiana with Chaplin Randy Reed officiating. Burial will follow in the Union City Cemetery.
The family will be receiving friends, Tuesday, from 6PM to 8Pm and again one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contribution may be given to the funeral home to help offset final expenses.

Roy E. Schultz, 83, of Union City, Ohio, passed away peacefully Friday, July 31, 2015 at his home after a prolonged illness.
Roy was born September 20, 1931, in Darke County, Ohio, a son of the late Otho and Mable (Snyder) Schultz. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Kim Carpenter and 2 brothers, Gail and Paul Schultz.
He was a United States Army veteran and was a member of the Union City VFW Post 7084 and the Union City American Legion Post 158. Roy was an loyal husband, loving father and devoted grandpa.
Roy is survived by his loving wife Carolyn Schultz; son, Todd (Joy) Schultz of Union City, IN, daughter, Misty (Tim) Price of Union City, IN; grandchildren, Ariel and Maverick Luster; and great granddaughter, Tabbitha Luster; Brother, Harold Schultz, and 3 sisters, Joan McCarter, Janice Turner and Betty Jean Schaffer.

He was born March 2, 1941 in Union City, Indiana the son of the late Kenneth & Donna (Welch) Norris. He Served in the United States Army. He was an over the road truck driver.

Norma Jean Clark, 82 of Greenville, Ohio passed away on Thursday July 30, 2015 at 4:05 PM at Wayne Healthcare. She was born June 24, 1933 in Darke County, Ohio, the daughter of the late Robert R. & Mary C. (Grow) Smith. She was a homemaker.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and an Eastern Star. She was an avid card player and enjoyed gardening, bowling and golfing, and her yearly excursions to Sebring, Florida with her dear friend Ruby Ludwig; She was a loving mother and grandmother and happily married to Harold for over 50 years.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Harold D. Clark on December 18, 2002; sisters: Dorothy Hemmerly, Wanda Bayman, Carol Elson, Jackie Minnich; brother: Norman Smith.
She is survived by her daughters & sons in law: Pamela & Richard Squires, Dallas, Texas, Lisa Clark & Ron Barone of Dallas, Texas; grandchildren: Chase & Annika Squires, Lucca Clark-Barone; brother: Charles “Dick” Smith of Versailles; sisters: Joan Brandt of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Sue Benzies of Tipp City, Connie Cottrell of Normal, Illinois; numerous nieces & nephews.

Marguerite J. Glunt (July 30, 2015)
Marguerite J. Glunt, age 94 of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 7:50 P.M. Thursday July 30, 2015 in the Brethren Retirement Community Greenville, Ohio. Marguerite was born August 28, 1920 in New Madison, Ohio and the daughter of the late Charles H. and Lucille “Cox” (Anderson) Hileman.
She retired in 1977 from Hobart Manufacturing formerly of Greenville, where she had been employed for 28 years as an Inspector. She was also a member of the St. Paul United Church of Christ, the Woman’s Guild of the Church and a member of the Greenville V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband David B. Glunt December 31, 2008. They were married February 6, 1943. Also by her brothers Burldean Hileman, Charles Hileman Jr., Robert Hileman and Ralph Hileman; sisters Jennie Winn and Betty Ketring; and a nephew Danny Hileman.
Marguerite is survived by her nieces Judy Powell, Gloria Boomershine, Mary Pugh, Vickie Crawford, Betty Brant and Merle Williamson; nephews Phillip Hileman, Harold Hileman, Jim Hileman, Tom Winn, Robert Hileman Jr., Ralph Hileman Jr., Warren Hileman, David Hileman and John Hileman; numerous great nieces and nephews and her best friend Shirley Washler.
Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Sunday August 2, 2015 in the Zechar Bailey Funeral Home Greenville, Ohio with Pastor Jim Vandermark officiating. Burial will be held on Monday August 3, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. in the old section of the Greenville Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1:00 P.M. until time of services in the funeral home.

Jack Dean Neff, age 75, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, July 30, 2015 at 12:25 PM at State of the Heart Hospice Care Center in Greenville, Ohio. He was born on August 11, 1939 in Darke County, Ohio, to the late Herman & Mary Bess (Beane) Neff Jr.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years Janice (Woolridge) Neff of Greenville, Ohio, whom he married on July 1, 1961 at the Painter Creek Church of the Brethren; son and daughter in law, Dean Scott & Renzen Neff of Greenville; daughters and sons in law, Jerilene & Mark Sweitzer of Piqua, Ohio, and Jodi & Jimmy Besecker of Greenville; grandchildren, Mark Sweitzer, Jade Besecker and Jimmy Besecker; sisters, Veda Replinger of Greenville and Marena Drew of Greenville; aunt, Sara Vanatta of Greenville; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Jack is preceded in death by his parents.
Jack and Janice were the owners and operators of 7th Heaven Arcade in Greenville where teenage kids played arcade games, pin ball machines and many other games. Jack and Janice were so involved with the kids that they all called them dad and mom even after the arcade was closed. He retired from the Darke County Sheriff Department as a Correctional Officer. Jack will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Service will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio. It is the wishes of the family that memorial contributions be given to State of the Heart Hospice in Darke County.
