Ronald C. “Hermie” Delk, 76, of Greenville, passed away Sunday December 28, 2014 at his residence.
He was born July 27, 1938, in Darke County, Ohio, a son of the late Irvin and Martha (Noggle) Delk.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Delk.
Ron was a veteran of the United States Army where he served with the 101st airborne division “Screaming Eagles”.
His is survived by his wife of 54 years, Mary K. (Bruner) Delk, whom he married July 5, 1960; 3 children, Timothy (Jennifer) Moore of Delaware, Ohio, Kelly (David) Stull and Susan (Denny) Ruble, both of Greenville, Ohio; 6 grandchildren, Marcus Moore, Amanda Rider, Benjamin and Zachary Stull, Alexandra and Molly Ruble; 3 great grandchildren, Collin and Allison Moore, and Finley Rider; 4 brothers and sisters, Carol Lutz, Joann McKee and Cathy (George) Bashore, all of Greenville, Ohio, and Gary Delk of Washington State.
A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.

Steven D. Eadler, 65, of New Madison, passed away on December 26, 2014 at his residence. Steve was born on July 28, 1949 in Richmond, Indiana to the late Forest and Evelyn (Dalrymple) Eadler.
Steve was a 1967 graduate of New Madison High School. He served as mayor of New Madison for 13 years. Steve was on the New Madison Village Council for 10 years and was very active in many community activities. He was on the New Madison Fourth of July Committee, New Madison Christmas Light Committee, and helped with the Tri-Village Backpack Program. Steve was a member and actively involved at New Madison United Methodist Church. Steve had also served as Past President of the Darke County Mayors Association.
In addition to his parents, Steve is preceded in death by a sister and brother in law, Carole and Larry Koons.

He was a 3rd Degree life member of the Knights of Columbus Greenville Council 1796 where he was a former Grand Knight. He was also a 4th Degree Knight of the Assembly of St. Gasper De Buffalo where he was a former Navigator. Clem was also a member of the Greenville Eagles where he was a Golden Eagle.
Clem was a man with a big heart, who generously gave of himself and touched many lives.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church 233 West Third Street in Greenville with Rev. Fr. John White celebrant. Burial will follow in Miami Memorial Park in Covington. Dorothy May Rismiller (December 25, 2014)
Dorothy May Rismiller, 92, of Greenville, formerly of Versailles, passed away Thursday, December 25, 2014 at Rest Haven in Greenivlle.
She was born February 6, 1922, in Coldwater, Ohio. A daughter of the late Fred and Fern (Warren) Fullroth.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Homer A. F. Rismiller, whom she married March 21, 1943; Children, Patricia Louise and David Arthur Rismiller; brothers, Edgar, Leonard H. and John Fullroth; sisters Mary Rike, and Martha E. Kanaus.
Dorothy was a member of the St. Pauls Lutheran Church in North Star. As a farmer’s wife her whole life, she ran the family farm. She was not afraid to work the farm, milk the cows and pay the bills. She was a devoted wife and loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She is survived by her children, Emma Weyrick of Greenville, Jerry L. (Nancy) Rismiller of Greenville, Steven H. Rismiller of Versailles, Michael (Millie) Rismiller of Versailles and Gail (Jerry) Lunsford of Batavia, Ohio; 11 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Services will be held 1pm Monday, December 29, 2014 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in North Star, Ohio. Burial will follow in the St. Paul Lutheran Church Cemetery.
The family will be receiving friends on Monday from 11am until the time of service at the church.

She was born February 6, 1922, in Coldwater, Ohio. A daughter of the late Fred and Fern (Warren) Fullroth.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Homer A. F. Rismiller, whom she married March 21, 1943; Children, Patricia Louise and David Arthur Rismiller; brothers, Edgar, Leonard H. and John Fullroth; sisters Mary Rike, and Martha E. Kanaus.
Dorothy was a member of the St. Pauls Lutheran Church in North Star. As a farmer’s wife her whole life, she ran the family farm. She was not afraid to work the farm, milk the cows and pay the bills. She was a devoted wife and loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She is survived by her children, Emma Weyrick of Greenville, Jerry L. (Nancy) Rismiller of Greenville, Steven H. Rismiller of Versailles, Michael (Millie) Rismiller of Versailles and Gail (Jerry) Lunsford of Batavia, Ohio; 11 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Services will be held 1pm Monday, December 29, 2014 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in North Star, Ohio. Burial will follow in the St. Paul Lutheran Church Cemetery.
The family will be receiving friends on Monday from 11am until the time of service at the church.

Ralph E. Hileman Sr., 83 of Greenville, Ohio passed away on December 25th. He was born April 23, 1931 in New Madison, Ohio to Charles Hileman Sr. & Lucille Anderson.
Ralph served in the US Army from m1950 to 1953 in the Korean War and the Army Reserves until 1960.
Ralph was a retired truck driver and loved spending his time with his family and friends, playing bingo and talking trucks.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife Norma (Hawkey), an infant daughter Linda in 1951, a grandson Scotty Niswonger in 1982, 3 brothers and 3 sisters.

Harold Arthur Weese age 75, of Greenville, Ohio went to be with Jesus at 10:40 P.M. on Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at his residence with his loving family at his side. Harold was born April 1, 1939 in Darke County, Ohio to the late Arthur E. & Catherine (Wagner) Weese.
Harold is survived by his wife, Lois B. (Raines) Weese whom he married June 12, 1959; children, Pam & David Furlong of New Paris, Scott & Rhonda Weese of Greenville and Kim & Dave McMahan of New Madison; grandchildren, Briana Weese & fiancé, Dylan Meyers, Jacob Furlong, Natasha McMahan, Tristin McMahan and Rylee McMahan; great-grandson, Kysan Weese; nieces & nephews, Kathy Bowen, Sharon Bishop, Tim Weese, Barbara Wacker, Craig Hoblit and Donnie Hoblit; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by his brothers, Dale Weese and Jim O’Brian; and sister, Jean Hoblit.
Harold was a member of the Greenview Calvary Tabernacle in Dayton where he was very active. Harold was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He enjoyed woodworking, camping, antique cars, and traveling to Pigeon Forge and Israel. Harold retired from Cadillac Gage in Greenville with 24 years of service as a machine operator.

Maude was preceded in death by her husband Raymond O. Butts to whom she had been married for 67 years; and four daughters Carolyn, Jane, and Marilyn Butts and Elaine Smith.
Maude is survived by daughters, Dorothy A. Beck of Troy, Billie Raye (Carl) Hess of Yoder, Indiana; son, Ray E. "Dean" (Susan) Butts of Greenville, son-in-law Jack Smith of Piqua; ten grandchildren, Rev. Stephen (Amy) Anthony, of Toledo, Ronald (Deb) Anthony, of Piqua, Tricia (Marty) Sutter of Marysville, Stephanie (Scott) Snell of Greenville, Denea (Brian) Collier of Toledo, Alisa (Stuart) Beisner of Versailles, Ryan (Kurstin) Butts of Ballwin, Missouri, and Gary (Brenda) Hess, Linda (Gary) Hitzeman and Dean (Laurel) Hess all of Indiana; twelve great-grandchildren and thirteen great-great-grandchildren; sister, Margaret Mowery of West Carrollton; brothers, Otha Marker and Russel "Ike" Marker both of Greenville; and many nieces and nephews.
Maude was an active member of Christian Missionary Alliance Church of Greenville where she was a Sunday School Teacher, Deaconess and choir member. Maude retired from Neff Lettering after being a supervisor for 30 years. Maude was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother. She enjoyed reading and working crossword puzzles.

John had owned a family business, the Arcanum Bakery, member of the Castine Church of the Brethren, lifetime member of the VFW in Arcanum, and served in the United States Navy during WWII.

In addition to her parents, Edith is also preceded in death by her husband, Ray E. Cool on July 9, 1989 whom she married July 18, 1941; son, Thomas R. Cool; sister, Kay Frazee; and brother, Charles Schmidt.
Edith worked at Iddings Hardware in Greenville where she was a sales clerk. Edith was a member of the Greenville Senior Citizens and loved to play bingo.

Edith is survived by her son & daughter-in-law, T.J. & Betsy Cool of Troy; daughters & sons-in-law, Connie & Charlie Swartz of Mocksville, North Carolina and Carrol & Joe Martino of Greenville; 13 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; brother & sister-in-law, Don & Lynette Schmidt of West Alexander; sister & brother-in-law, Judy & Richard Schmidt of Lewisburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Edith is also preceded in death by her husband, Ray E. Cool on July 9, 1989 whom she married July 18, 1941; son, Thomas R. Cool; sister, Kay Frazee; and brother, Charles Schmidt.
Edith worked at Iddings Hardware in Greenville where she was a sales clerk. Edith was a member of the Greenville Senior Citizens and loved to play bingo.

Floyd R. Brewer, age 82, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, December 21, 2014 at 12:20 AM at Rest Haven Nursing Home, Greenville, Ohio. He was born on March 26, 1932 in Darke County, Ohio, to the late Robert & Marie (Bowman) Brewer.
He is survived by his children, Elaine Pooler of Springfield, Ohio, Richard (Gayle Cohn) Brewer of Englewood, Ohio, and Tammy (Terry) Curtis of Rossburg, Ohio; 5 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; sister, Judy C. Brewer of Greenville; as well as his dog, Mousey.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Doris J. (Baker) Brewer whom he married on August 21, 1951; and son, Terry Brewer.
Floyd is a member of Stelvideo Christian Church and Darke County Sheriff’s Auxiliary. He worked at the Dairy Maid, American Aggregates, then retiring from the Greenville City School System. He raised Beef Cattle and was a foster parent for 26 years parenting 62 kids. He loved dogs and was a supporter of the Buckeye Sheriff’s Association.
There will be a service held on Wednesday, December 24, 2014 at 10:30 AM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio. Burial will follow in the Stelvideo Cemetery, Stelvideo, Ohio. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 23, 2014 from 5-8 PM at the funeral home.

Theodore Emerson Sprowl, 31, of Greenville, passed away Sunday, December 14, 2014, at his residence.
He was born on May 17, 1983, in Greenville Ohio, son of Robert Gene Sprowl and Michelle Diane (Richards) Sprowl. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Lester and Peggy Richards, and Leroy Sprowl.
Theodore was a member of the Church of the Nazarene, Bradford OH, past poster child for Muscular Dystrophy Association, and he had received the Wright Patt young hero award.

He served in the Army Air Corp during World War II where he was a Prisoner of War and received the Purple Heart. He was a farmer.
He was a member of the Greenville American Legion Post #140, Greenville V.F.W., the American Chianina Association, the Ohio Chianina Association, the Darke County Cattlemen’s Association, & a Board Member of the Ohio Farm Bureau, a Member of the Darke County School Board, a Member of the Montgomery County JVS Board; he received numerous Grand Champion and Reserve Grand Champion Awards; the Who’s Who Award, numerous Herdsman Awards, numerous Government Certificates, & numerous Government Recognitions.

John Wendell Spidel (December 3, 2014)
John Wendell Spidel, 77, of Bonita Springs, Florida and Maumee, Ohio passed away on December 3, 2014 at Avow Hospice in Naples, Florida.
John was born in Greenville, Ohio on March 11, 1937. He was Proceeded in death by his parents Sarah (Dohme) and Wilbur D. Spidel; Sisters, Gretchen K. Pequignot and Collette S. Eikenberry; Brothers in law, Nils G. Eikenberry and John R. Lynch.
He is survived by the love of his life, Jane Lynch Spidel, whom he married on September 4, 1960, and lovingly called Janie; cherished children, Daughter, Susan Lynne Spidel and husband Jim Wiginton and Son, Douglas Alan Spidel and wife Mara; his precious grandchildren whom he adored, Jordan Elizabeth Spidel, John Robert Spidel and Jade Elise Spidel; Brothers, George J. Spidel and wife Kathy, David L. Spidel and wife Mariette, and Wilbur D. Spidel II (Sam); Sister in law, Lianne J Spidel; and Brothers in law, Robert H. Pequignot and Don D. Lynch and wife Nadine, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
John graduated in the class of 1955 from Greenville High School. He was quarterback of the undefeated 1954 M.V.L. football team and also played on the 1955 M.V.L. championship basketball team. He was awarded MVP in both sports for his efforts. John also earned All League and All State honors in both football and basketball.
John followed his father’s footsteps to The University of Michigan where he received his Bachelors Degree in Business Administration and his M.B.A. While at Michigan, John continued to excel in athletics earning his numerals in freshman basketball and lettering 3 years in football. He was a member of Sigma Chi fraternity and Druids Honorary Society. John remained an “M Man” all of his life and was a loyal member of The University of Michigan Letter winners M Club and the Victors Club.
Following graduation, John served in the United States Marine Corp Reserves for 6 years.
John started his business career with Dow Chemical Company in Midland, Michigan and was later transferred to Boston. He then moved to New York City and spent 3 years there. John returned home to Greenville, Ohio in 1966 and began his nearly 30 year career with American Aggregates Corporation. He retired in 1993 as Vice President of Administration and was a member of the Board of Directors.
John sat on the Greenville City Board of Education and the board of the Darke County YMCA, serving both organizations as a member and President. He was also a member of the Greenville Toastmasters.
John was a life long member of St Paul’s Lutheran Church. He served on the Church council as a member and President and was a key member of the evangelism committee. He was also instrumental in the formation of the St Paul’s Lutheran Church endowment fund.
John was a loving son, husband, father, brother and grandfather, a loyal friend, an exemplary citizen, a faithful member to his church, an honest man and a true gentleman. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Services for John will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, December 13, 2014 in St Paul’s Lutheran Church 131 East Fourth Street Greenville, Ohio. Pastor Peter B. Menke will preside and graveside burial will immediately follow in Greenville Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 P.M. to 7 P.M. on Friday, December 12 at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home Greenville, Ohio and on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until time of the services in the church.

John was born in Greenville, Ohio on March 11, 1937. He was Proceeded in death by his parents Sarah (Dohme) and Wilbur D. Spidel; Sisters, Gretchen K. Pequignot and Collette S. Eikenberry; Brothers in law, Nils G. Eikenberry and John R. Lynch.
He is survived by the love of his life, Jane Lynch Spidel, whom he married on September 4, 1960, and lovingly called Janie; cherished children, Daughter, Susan Lynne Spidel and husband Jim Wiginton and Son, Douglas Alan Spidel and wife Mara; his precious grandchildren whom he adored, Jordan Elizabeth Spidel, John Robert Spidel and Jade Elise Spidel; Brothers, George J. Spidel and wife Kathy, David L. Spidel and wife Mariette, and Wilbur D. Spidel II (Sam); Sister in law, Lianne J Spidel; and Brothers in law, Robert H. Pequignot and Don D. Lynch and wife Nadine, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
John graduated in the class of 1955 from Greenville High School. He was quarterback of the undefeated 1954 M.V.L. football team and also played on the 1955 M.V.L. championship basketball team. He was awarded MVP in both sports for his efforts. John also earned All League and All State honors in both football and basketball.
John followed his father’s footsteps to The University of Michigan where he received his Bachelors Degree in Business Administration and his M.B.A. While at Michigan, John continued to excel in athletics earning his numerals in freshman basketball and lettering 3 years in football. He was a member of Sigma Chi fraternity and Druids Honorary Society. John remained an “M Man” all of his life and was a loyal member of The University of Michigan Letter winners M Club and the Victors Club.

Richard C. “Dick” Francis, age 70, of Versailles, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, December 7, 2014 at 3:50 PM at his residence. He was born on January 5, 1944 in Greenville, Ohio, to the late Carl & Amelia (Simon) Francis.
He is survived by his wife, Carol (Mescher) Francis of Versailles, Ohio, whom he married on July 25, 1992; son and daughter in law, Jeff & Angie Francis of Versailles; daughters and sons in law, Julie & Matt Traver of Findlay, Ohio, and Carrie & Ken Schoen of Ft. Recovery, Ohio; grandchildren, Ethan, Owen, Ava, Ella and Nora Schoen, Anne Traver, Kelsey, Ross and Collin Francis; mother in law, Sally Mescher of Versailles; brother, John Francis of Athens, Ohio; sisters and brother in law, Linda & James Davidson of Versailles and Connie Droesch of Versailles; as well as extended family members of the Wehrkamp, Mescher and Francis families.

He was an avid sports fan especially watching his kids and grandkids play. He enjoyed playing softball, played baseball for the Western Ohio League, he enjoyed watching the Reds and loved yard work.
There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held on Thursday, December 11, 2014 at 10:30 AM at St. Denis Catholic Church, Versailles, Ohio, with Rev. Fr. Ron Haft celebrant. Burial will follow in the St. Louis Catholic Church Cemetery, North Star, Ohio. Jeanne Withrow Barr (December 6, 2014)
Jeanne Withrow Barr, age 89 of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 8:10 P.M. Saturday December 6, 2014 at the Village Green Nursing Home Greenville, Ohio. Jeanne was born April 14, 1925 in Darke County, Ohio and the daughter of the late Harold A. & Olive (Dull) Withrow.
Jeanne retired in 1972 as the former co-owner with her husband John of the Greenville Machine & Tool Company.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Greenville, a former member of the Greenville V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary of Greenville, was the former Music Director at the Nashville Methodist Church and had been Soloist for the Girls Glee Club in Dayton. Jeanne especially enjoyed spending time with her family and watching sporting events.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband John A. Barr February 14, 2003; grandchildren Shannon Renee Barr and Joseph C. Sink; son in law Larry Sink; brother Harold (Beatrice) Withrow Jr.; sisters Helen W. (Hayward) Geddes and Martha L. (Harold) Deeter,; brothers in law Jacob W. (Mary Louise) Barr, Forrest (Juanita) Barr and Lawrence E. (Evelyn) Barr.
Jeanne is survived by her children Marilyn A. “Becky” (Larry) Ellis of Greenville, Cindy L. Sink of Rossburg, Joseph W. (Tracy) Barr of New Madison, John M. (Diana) Barr of Lewisburg and Elisa B. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday December 12, 2014 in the Zechar Bailey Funeral Home Greenville, Ohio with Chaplain Candi Null officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenmound Cemetery New Madison, Ohio.

William E. “Bill” Fletcher age 69, of Glasgow, Kentucky and formerly of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 7:25 A.M. on Thursday, December 4, 2014 at his residence. Bill was born October 16, 1945 in Greenville, Ohio to the late Herman A. & Frances Jane (Brinley) Fletcher Sr.
Bill is survived by his wife of 50 years, Carolyn Jo (Garbig) Fletcher whom he married January 11, 1964; son, Brett Alan Fletcher of Glasgow, Kentucky; grandchildren, Brian Fletcher of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, Mike Crampton of North Ridgeville, Ohio and John Crampton of Middleburg Heights, Ohio; brothers & sisters-in-law, Herman A. & Valerie Fletcher Jr. of North Ridgeville, Ohio, Richard & Evelyn Fletcher of Greenville, Ohio and David Fletcher of Greenville, Ohio; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Bill is survived by his wife of 50 years, Carolyn Jo (Garbig) Fletcher whom he married January 11, 1964; son, Brett Alan Fletcher of Glasgow, Kentucky; grandchildren, Brian Fletcher of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, Mike Crampton of North Ridgeville, Ohio and John Crampton of Middleburg Heights, Ohio; brothers & sisters-in-law, Herman A. & Valerie Fletcher Jr. of North Ridgeville, Ohio, Richard & Evelyn Fletcher of Greenville, Ohio and David Fletcher of Greenville, Ohio; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, Bill is also preceded in death by a daughter, Krystal Fletcher; and half-brothers, Ralph Mikesell and Bill Petry.
Bill was a field sales engineer for BR Retreading in Glasgow, Kentucky. He was a member of the Elks Lodge in Berea, Ohio.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville, Ohio with Pastor Sylvia McKibben officiating. Burial will follow in Abbottsville Cemetery in Darke County, Ohio. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Holli L. Anderson, age 31, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at 7:58 PM at State of the Heart Hospice Care Center, Greenville, Ohio. She was born on January 23, 1983 in Greenville, Ohio, to Tony Anderson and Connie (Yohey) Shiverdecker both of Greenville.
In addition to her parents she is survived by children, Kyla & Gavin Gerace of Greenville; brother, Nick Anderson of Greenville; sister and brother in law, Tracy & Steve Bailey of Greenville; niece and nephew, Parker and Kaylyn Bailey; grandmothers, Alice Anderson and Shirley Yohey both of Greenville; as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her grandfathers, Dave Anderson and Robert “Gene” Yohey; and step father, Dave Shiverdecker.
Holli was studying cosmetology and business at Miami Jacobs Career College and was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the Eagles in Greenville. She was a graduate of Greenville High School class of 2002. She loved cooking, outdoors and movies. She was a very loving and devoted mother and will be missed.
There will be a visitation held on Friday, December 5, 2014 from 4-8 PM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family with a burial following in the Greenville Township Memorial Gardens, Greenville, Ohio. She was born April 14, 1943 in Lima, Ohio the daughter of the late Ottis & Hattie Mae (Watson) Bloomfield. She worked as a Nurse’s Aide at the Union City Hospital and also worked at Fram. She was a member of the First Congregational Church; she loved doing crafts, playing video games and traveling.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband: David E. Woodruff on July 27, 2012 whom she married July 1, 1961; her sister: Barbara Ann (Bloomfield) Swafford.
She is survived by her children: David E. Woodruff of Rossburg, Eugene E. Woodruff of Sidney, Kathryn Flatter of Cincinnati, Nannette K. T. Robert (Bob) Bennett, 87, passed away November 28th, 2014 in his home surrounded by family.
Bob was born on April 6, 1927 in Braffetsville, Ohio, to George V. and Velma I. Bennett.
He attended New Madison School and graduated in 1945. He then served in the United States Navy from April 1945 to July 1946 before returning to Ohio and farming.
Bob loved to share his stories with those around him. Often these stories revolved around growing up, fishing trips or life lessons.
He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Sara (Moore) Bennett of New Paris, Ohio; his daughter Judy (Bennett) Webber of Eaton, Ohio; grandchildren Jennifer (Case) Clemens (Shane Clemens) of Pickerington, Ohio and Sara (Webber) Wagner (Nathan Wagner) of Hilliard, Ohio; Great Grandchildren Maddison, Nikki, Faith, Colt Clemens and Lillian and Avery Wagner; and sister Pauline (Bennett) Emerick.
He is preceded in death by sister Maxine Bennett and daughters Lucinda and Becky.

Constance “Connie” Ann (Grubb) Miller (November 26, 2014)
Constance “Connie” Ann (Grubb) Miller age 64, of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 4:45 P.M. on Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at her residence after a 4 year illness. Connie was born January 5, 1950 in Piqua, Ohio to the late William Lee & Ruby (David) Grubb. Connie is also preceded in death by her husband, Thomas “Tom” A. Miller on December 25, 1984; sister, Wanda “Wendy” L. Wilson; and a brother, William B. Grubb.
Connie formerly worked for the City of Greenville Income Tax Office, retiring in 2006 after 30 years of service and later worked for 2 years at Big Hill GMAC Real Estate in Greenville. She became a licensed wedding officiant in 2009, performing many weddings throughout the area, which she greatly enjoyed, until her health started declining. Mrs. Miller was a 1968 graduate of Bradford High School, where she was active in band (flute), cheerleading, chorus and the National Honor Society. She was a former member of the Irish Setter Club of America and she and her late husband, Tom showed Irish Setters in “obedience”, winning many tittles with Rusty and Lady. Connie also had two other beloved Irish Setters in her life, Rudy and Morgan. In addition to her dogs, Connie also had 3 cats, Miss Kitty, Ebony and Olivia. Miss Kitty also preceded her in death. She dearly loved animals and had previously been an instructor with the Greenville Area Dog Club where she also was Treasurer for 8 years.
Connie never missed watching an Ohio State football game on TV and was able to attend a home game with her niece, Kim Wilson. Connie was also a member of the Nashville United Methodist Church in Greenville.
Connie is survived by her son, Christopher “Chris” Miller of Greenville; sister-in-law, Scherrie Grubb of Huber Heights; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; her cats, Ebony and Olivia; grandcats, Electra and Precious; her good friend, Shirley Jay; and companion, Wayne Hartman.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville with Pastor Charles MacKeen and State of the Heart Hospice Chaplain Jacque Collins officiating. Sydney Ellen Howard (November 25, 2014)
HOWARD, Sydney Ellen, age 74, a resident of Brethren Retirement Community, Greenville, OH, formerly of Farmersville, OH died on Tuesday, November 25, 2014. She was the third daughter of Russell and Leona Wheeler born on March 18, 1940. She came to realize the blessing of being a step-daughter of Thelma Wheeler. She was a 1958 graduate of Farmersville High School and became a member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church the same year. On August 22, 1959, she married her high-school sweetheart Michael Howard, and to this union, two children were born. She retired from Valley View Schools as the secretary to the Superintendent, Herschel Cornn. She was preceded in death by her parents, her step-mother Thelma Wheeler, step-sister and brother-in-law Pattie and Raymond Lakes, and sister-in-law Ann Weaver. She is survived by her devoted husband of 55 years, Mike, of Greenville. She also leaves her much loved son Mark (Sue) of Brookville, OH and daughter Michaelle (John) of West Milton, OH, 7 very special grandchildren, Jessica, Emily, Morgan Howard and Lauren (Jeremy) Smith, Alyssa, Logan Lightcap, and Stephanie (Darrin) Crawford, 2 great grandchildren, Jared and Charleigh Crawford, 2 sisters, Arlene (Bob) Emrick and Judy Buehner, stepbrother Ron (Madonna Smiley) Weaver, a sister and brother-in-law Connie and Monte Rieger and many nieces and nephews. There will be a service held on Monday, December 1, 2014 at 1:00 PM at St. Andrew Lutheran Church, 282 S. Broadway, Farmersville, OH, with Pastor Larry Lindstrom officiating. Burial will follow in the Monroe Cemetery, Preble County, OH. Family will receive friends on Sunday, November 30, 2014 from 2-5 PM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, 1499 North Broadway, Greenville, OH. Ronald L. “Ron” Rice (November 24, 2014)
Ronald L. “Ron” Rice, 65, of Greenville, passed away late Monday afternoon, November 24, 2014, at the Village Green Health Care Center in Greenville.
He was born October 16, 1949, in Dayton, Ohio, a son of Robert L. Rice of Greenville and the late Vina Opal (Hill) Rice.
In addition to his mother, Ron was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Ann (Dininger) Rice.
He had owned and operated the former Darke County Radiator in Greenville and later had driven truck for Clopay.
He is survived by his sons, Kirk (Nicole) Rice of Greenville, and Scott (Amy) Rice of Rossburg; grandchildren, Jeffrey (Amber), Jordan, Sara, Hanna, and Nathanael; and a great grandson, Zander.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m., Sunday, November 30, at the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville with Pastor Ron Isom officiating. Private burial will take place at a later date in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Greenville.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 3 p.m. until the time of services at 4 p.m.. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to Heartland Hospice.

Norma Leona (Burnside) Blair (November 24, 2014)
Norma Leona (Burnside) Blair, 91, of Greenville, went to be with her Lord and Savior on November 24, 2014. She was born on October 4, 1923, the 11th of 12 children in Montgomery County, Ohio to the late Martin William and Alma Yount (Smith) Burnside.
Norma was a great woman of God. She was a farmer's wife and a wonderful mother. She even made her children's clothes when they were young.
In addition to her parents, Norma is preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Blair; 8 sisters and 3 brothers.
Norma is survived by three sons, Danny and Linda Blair, Timothy and Vickie Blair and Jonathan Blair; a daughter, Pauline and Gary Miller; grandchildren, Tammy Smith, Shannon and Scott Clark, Benjamin Miller, Matthew Miller, Heather and Dustin Fourman, Amanda and Jason Brewer, Lauren and Dustin Bales and Kristen Blair; a brother-in-law, Gail Blair, and 15 great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, November 29, 2014 at 10:00 AM at Grace Brethren Community Church, 3110 US Rt 35 East, West Alexandria, Ohio with the Rev. Eric Fee and Rev. Iris Mae Gray, age 91 of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 8:48 P.M. Monday November 24, 2014 at Rest Haven Nursing Home Greenville, Ohio. She was born June 6, 1923 in Fort Jefferson, Ohio and the daughter of the late James Virgil & Bessie E. (Parker) Hicks.
Iris was retired as a nurse’s aide for the Brethren Retirement Community and a member of the Triumphant Christian Center of Greenville.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband George F. Gray; a daughter Georgia Kissinger; son Neal Gray and several brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her daughter Sherry (Carlos) Rodriguez of Greenville; son Harry Gray of Union City, Indiana; 13 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; great great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
