John Eric Purdy (June 11, 2019)

John Eric Purdy, 58, passed away on June 11, 2019 at his home in Hollansburg, Ohio after a hard-fought battle with pancreatic cancer.

John was born on January 28, 1961 in Greenville, Ohio to Shirley (Thompson) Purdy of Hollansburg, and the late Robert Purdy.

In addition to his father, John was preceded in death by his wife, Pamela (Norris) Purdy; his father, Robert Purdy; his brother, Bruce Purdy; his paternal grandparents, William and Aura Purdy; and his maternal grandparents, Allen and Doris Thompson.

John was a true outdoorsman, an avid fisherman, and was a member of the New Madison Fish and Game Club.

In addition to his mother, John is survived by his brother, Tom (Cheryl) Purdy of Palestine, Ohio; his sister, Cindy (Phil) Fiste of Greenville, Ohio; his nieces, Mindy Ashworth, Michelle Waters, and Casey Rife; his three great nephews and one great-niece; and many other family and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, July 7, 2019 at 4:00 PM at Northside Church of Christ, 1962 Chester Blvd, Richmond, Indiana.

Eileen Mary Barga (June 26, 2019)

Eileen Mary Barga age 91, of Versailles passed away at 6:07 PM on Wednesday, June 26, 2019, in the Hospice Unit at Upper Valley Medical Center in Troy.

Eileen was born June 6, 1928, in Mercer County to the late John J. & Regina (Schwieterman) Huwer. In addition to her parents, Eileen was also preceded in death by her husband, Richard Joseph Barga on February 9, 1990, whom she married May 3, 1952; daughter, Kathy Barga; brothers, Vic J. Huwer and Charles L. Huwer; and sister, Marian Langenkamp.

Eileen is survived by her children, Patti & Jim Prenger of Minster and Steve & Wendy Barga of Columbus; grandchildren, Reneé Prenger, Julie Prenger & fiancé, Adam Knox and Kathy Prenger; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Eileen was a homemaker and formerly worked in the office at Worch Lumber and Norseman Cable in Versailles. She was a member of St. Denis Catholic Church in Versailles and Versailles Eagles Ladies Auxiliary. Eileen was known as one of the “church ladies” who frequented the Sweet Shop. She was a former “Trashy Lady” with Trash for Cash.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, July 1, 2019, at St. Denis Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Jim Simons celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Valbert Cemetery in Versailles. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2:00 to 6:00 PM and Monday morning from 9:00 to 10:00 AM at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home in Versailles. Ray Lutz (June 24, 2019)

Ray Lutz, 35, of Union City, Ohio, passed away on Monday, June 24, 2019, at Grandview Hospital in Dayton, Ohio.

Ray was born on April 14, 1984, in Greenville, Ohio to Shirley (Strickler) Lutz of Greenville, Ohio, and the late Henry L. Lutz.

In addition to his father, Ray was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Ray and Evelyn Strickler; and his paternal grandparents, Glendon and Edna Lutz.

Ray was an amazing person and faithful follower of Christ. Nothing meant more to him than his family. He was a wonderful and loving husband, father, son, brother, son-in-law, and brother-in-law. Ray had an overflowing heart for people, strived to be a positive influence and play an active role in his community. Ray owned and operated Brighter Dayz Painting. He was a perfectionist when it came to his job which made him an excellent painter. He loved to participate in sports along with being very involved in helping coach his children. Ray always took time for others and loved coaching and mentoring. He coached little league baseball throughout the years, coached the boys freshmen baseball team for Greenville High School as well as the girls varsity softball team at Mississinawa Valley and Union City Community High Schools.

His desire was to reflect the love of Jesus in all he did and said everywhere he went. He was an amazing coach, youth pastor and loyal friend. He was a gifted musician and loved to help on the worship team, and often helped lead worship services. His favorite book was the Bible; he loved to read the scriptures. Ray traveled with his family band as a drummer. He loved playing music and playing the drums, bass and accoustic guitars, and had loved to sing. Above all else, he loved spending time with his family and playing with his children.

Ray is survived by his wife of 16 years, Sarah (Mercer) Lutz, whom he married on June 28, 2003; his children, Skylie, Caleb, Faith, and Joshua Lutz; his brothers and their spouses, Hank and Ellen Lutz of Vancouver, Washington, Wayne and Susan Lutz of Greenville, Ohio, Mark and Ruby Lutz of Union City, Ohio, Kyle and Linda Burnum of Muncie, Indiana, and Jeffrey Burnum of Muncie, Indiana; his sister, Vivian Williams of Union City, Indiana; his mother and father-in-law, Terry and Debbie Mercer of Union City, Indiana; his brother-in-law, Pete and Cristen Mercer of Winchester, Indiana; his sister-in-law, Joy Bryant of Union City, Indiana; and countless nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Ray's life will be held on Monday, July 1, 2019 at Union City Community Junior-Senior High School Gymnasium, 603 N Walnut Street, Union City, Indiana 47390, at 11:00AM with Pastors Chris Barhorst and Wes Lynch officiating. Burial will follow in Greenville Township Memorial Gardens in Greenville, Ohio.

Ray's family will be receiving guests on Sunday, June 30, 2019, from 2:00PM to 5:00PM, and again on Monday from 10:00AM until the time of the service at Union City Community Junior-Senior High School.

A fund has been established by True Life Church, 5990 St. Rt. 36, Greenville, OH 45331. All proceeds of this fund will go directly to Ray's family to help them through this trying time.

Diane Willman Foutch (June 23, 2019)

Diane Willman Foutch, 68, of Denton, Texas and formerly of Greenville, Ohio passed away on June 23, 2019 at her home. She was born on July 8, 1950 in Columbus, Ohio to Michael and Helen (Marshall) Willman. Diane was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother to five grandchildren.

She graduated in 1968 from Greenville High School in Greenville, Ohio. On August 4, 1984, she married James Ray Foutch and resided in Denton. In 2005, she became a proud graduate of The University of North Texas with a Master of Science Degree in Accounting. She has been a long-standing member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Denton.

Diane made many friends. She was employed by Josten's, United Copper and from 2006 until she retired in March from Hankins Eastup Deanton Tonn & Seay CPA's. Diane was a founding member of the North Texas Shooter's Association. She had a passion for playing softball; where she enjoyed many hours with her family and friends. At home, she could be found up late cuddled with a good book or working in her office. Most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren and attending their school and sporting events.

She is survived by her husband; James Ray Foutch of Denton, TX; daughter, Darby Keller of Denton, TX; son, Jason Foutch and wife Aimee of Aubrey, TX; sister, Barbara Rhodes of Hamilton, Ohio; brother Steve Willman and wife Roxanne of Greenville, Ohio; grandchildren, Isabella Ornelas of Denton, TX, Sonia Ferrell-Foutch and wife Spencer of Ponder, TX; Micah Neilson and husband Josh of Aubrey, TX; Trevor Davila and Diego Davila of Denton, TX.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday July 2, 2019 in the St. John Lutheran Church 7418 State Route 121-N Greenville, Ohio with Pastor Brian McGee officiating. Burial will follow in the St. John Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday July 1, 2019 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM in the Zechar Bailey Funeral Home Greenville and on Tuesday from 9:00 AM until time of the services in the church.

Donald S. Plessinger (June 23, 2019)

Donald S. Plessinger age 81, of Versailles passed away at 9:21 AM on Sunday, June 23, 2019, at the Versailles Healthcare Center.

Donald was born June 29, 1937, in Springfield to the late Harrys S. Plessinger & Helen K. (Trittschuh) Marchal Simon. In addition to his parents, Donald Was also preceded in death by a longtime companion, Janet Richhart; and sister, Patricia Varno.

Donald is survived by his sons, Mark Plessinger of Sidney, Erik Plessinger of Iowa City, Iowa, and Ryan Plessinger of Sidney; mother of his 3 sons, Faye LaRochelle of Michigan; and granddaughter, Jaylin Plessinger of Anna.

Donald attended Versailles Schools. He served in the U.S. Navy. He retired from Dick Lavy Trucking where he was a truck driver. Donald was a member of the Versailles Eagles #2347 and the Moose Lodge in Sidney.

Phila Eva Bowers (Harman) (June 22, 2019)

Phila Eva Bowers (Harman) age 101 of Greenville, Ohio passed away peacefully at 7:56 PM at her home. Born in Darke County on November 16, 1917 she was one of 3 children born to the late John & Naple (Reck) Harman. Phila was a past President of the American Legion Ladies Auxillary as well as a member of the AMVETS and VFW in Greenville. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by infant son Michael Westfall: son Kermit Westfall: first husband David Westfall: second husband LeRoy Bowers: grandson Mark Westfall: sister Nova Shiverdecker.

She is survived by her daughter-in-law Wanda Westfall: 5 grandchildren: 10 great-grandchildren: 22 great-great grandchildren: as well as many more family members and friends.

Marjorie Marybelle Jones (June 21, 2019)

Marjorie Marybelle Jones, 82, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Friday, June 21, 2019, at her residence surrounded by her family.

She was born on May 11, 1937, in Darke County, Ohio to the late Elmer and Lillie (Eley) Klopfer.

In addition to her parents, Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband, Roy "Spike" Jones; her great-granddaughters, Savannah and Willow Gower; and her siblings, Kenneth Klopfer and Joanne Waggoner.

Marjorie was devoted to her family and would go to the ends of the earth for them. She loved her grandchildren and enjoyed the time they spent together. She loved to read, cook, sew, and family gatherings. She was an animal lover and always had pets to give her affection to. She loved watching the Cleveland Cavaliers play. Marjorie graduated from Versailles High School, where she played clarinet in the marching band. After marrying Roy, they would travel the back roads on their motorcycle, eventually riding all the way to the Grande Canyon. They enjoyed the outdoors and camping in their camper.

Marjorie is survived by her children and their spouses, Karen and Steve Livingston of Union City, Ohio, and Mike and Joni Jones of Greenville, Ohio; her grandchildren and their spouses, Chrissy and Brad Strausbaugh of Versailles, Ohio, Kelley and Kenneth Gower of Union City, Ohio, Jonathan Jones of Greenville, and Paige Jones of Greenville; her great-grandchildren, Brooklyn Livingston, Levi Strausbaugh, and Caroline Gower; her siblings, George Klopfer of Beamsville, Ohio, and Florence Neargardner of Indianapolis, Indiana; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Marjorie's life will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, June 26, 2019, at Tribute Funeral Homes, Greenville Campus, with Pastor Melinda Gapen officiating. Burial will follow in Greenville Township Memorial Gardens.

Everett J. Coby (June 21, 2019)

Everett J. Coby, age 87 passed away surrounded by his loving family on Friday, June 21, 2019 at 10:00 PM at the State of the Heart Hospice Care Center, Greenville, Ohio. Born in Covington, Ohio on October 27, 1931 he was one of 7 children to the late Oliver L. & Mary Elizabeth (Goodpaster) Coby. Everett worked hard his entire life. Early in life he helped his father shovel coal in Celina, Ohio; later he would go into trucking, hauling, and running many heavy equipment machines for farming, feed & grain & asphalt companies. He worked at Teaford Feed & Grain for 16 years, and Walls Brothers Asphalt for 28 years. He loved his horses, he farmed with them and had a pulling team he won trophies with. He was a lifetime member of the American Motorcycle Association and rode his Harley Davidson Motorcycle to Sturgis, South Dakota 5 times. The last trip to Sturgis was made when Everett was 76 years young. He loved his family, his wife, his children and his grandchildren with all of his heart, he will be deeply missed. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers Gerald, Wayne, Bobby and Larry Coby: sister Betty Murphy: daughter-in laws Carol Coby; Ingrid Coby: grandson-in-law Andy Sayer: step-grandson Joey Walters.

Survived by his wife, whom he just celebrated his 70th wedding anniversary, Ruby Coby, whom he married June 11, 1949: children Terry L. Coby of Portland, IN; Ricky E. Coby of Arcanum, OH; Karla & Joe Walters of Greenville, OH: sister Dorothy Schmidt of Celina, OH: 17 granchildren: 40 great-grandchildren: 11 great-great grandchildren (and one on the way): as well as many more family members and friends.

Samuel "Sam" Lindamood (June 18, 2019)

Samuel "Sam" Lindamood, 89, of Glen Karn, Ohio, passed away on June 18, 2019 at Reid Hospital in Richmond, Indiana.

Sam was born on November 26, 1929 in Richmond, to the late Samuel and Norma (Teaford) Lindamood.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Doreen (Peden) Lindamood, his son, Gary Skaggs; his grandson, Alan Lindamood; his sisters, Phyllis "Sissy" Snyder, Lois "WoeWee" Hines, Juanita "WeeWee" Hawkey, and Marilyn "Pete" Myers.

Sam was very well-known in the community, being the owner of "Sam's Place", in Glen Karn, for 65 years. During his years running the bar, Sam had the opportunity to make countless friends from those who would stop in for a drink and a burger. He never met a stranger and always welcomed everyone in with a smile. Sam and his family worked closely together and took great pride in the little bar with the big personality. For many years, friends and family would gather on Saturday evenings for chicken dinners.

Sam had an amazing personality and had a knack for telling jokes and stories. He would tell a lie on purpose just to see how it would get around. He loved sports. He was a little league baseball coach and followed Tri-Village Basketball. He loved baseball and would rarely miss a Cincinnati Reds Game. Sam was always community driven. He served on the Hollansburg Volunteer Fire Department for many years. At one time, the Fire Department phones would ring into the bar. The room would get quiet as Sam took the call and then everyone would dash out to handle the emergency. Sam served his county honorably in the United States Army, serving during the Korean War.

Sam is survived by his children; Roseanna Ryder of Arcanum, Ohio, Darrell (Betty) Skaggs of Richmond, Indiana, Tony (LouAnn) Lindamood of New Madison, Ohio, Christa (Jack) Adkins of Hollansburg, Ohio; Vickie Wicker of Hollansburg; and Kimberly (Stephen) Cofield of Fountain City, Indiana; his grandchildren, Mac Wicker, Bryan Adkins, Clint Adkins, Garrett Lindamood, Sam Lindamood, Jr., Craig Garland, Brent Garland, Cherise Zobrist, Aaron Cofield, Austin Cofield, Ashley Werner, and Joey Skaggs; 10 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; his sisters, Pat Graham of Greenville, and Wilma "Punk" Richards, of Hollansburg; his special friend, Helen Graham; and countless nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Sam's life will be held at 1:00 PM on Sunday, June 23, 2019 at Tribute Funeral Homes, Greenville Campus. Buial, with full military honors conducted by the Greenville Honor Guard, will follow in Hollansburg Cemetery.

Friends and family may visit from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Saturday, June 22, 2019 at the funeral home, and again on Sunday, from 12 Noon until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Wayne Joseph Magoto (June 19, 2019)

Wayne Joseph Magoto age 70, of Versailles passed away at 8:24AM on Wednesday, June 19, 2019, at the Hospice Center at the Dayton VA Medical Center.

Wayne was born May 12, 1949, in Greenville to the late Adrian R. & Ruby H. (Long) Magoto. In addition to his parents, Wayne was also preceded in death by a brother, Orville Magoto.

Wayne is survived by his wife, Cherilyn (Lang) Magoto whom he married July 8, 1972; son & daughter-in-law, Christopher & Liz Magoto of Versailles; grandchildren, Carter, William and Michael Magoto; brothers & sister-in-law, Kenneth Magoto of Piqua and David & Judy Magoto of Piqua; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Wayne served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He retired from GTE-Verizon Telephone Company in Troy.

Ruth N. Nye (June 18, 2019)

Ruth N. Nye age 91, of Greenville passed away at 4:50 PM on Tuesday, June 18, 2019, at Wayne HealthCare in Greenville.

Ruth was born March 30, 1928, in Union City, Ohio, to the late Virgil & Cora (Neff) Hoblit. In addition to her parents, Ruth was also preceded in death by her husband, James Jacob Nye on January 21, 2019; 2 sons-in-law; and 3 brothers, Irvin, Ralph and Don Hoblit.

Ruth is survived by her children, John A. & Gretchen Snyder of New Carlisle, Martha L. Grisez of Gettysburg, Ruth A. & Barry Argo of Greenville and Diana J. Campbell of Greenville; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and sisters-in-law, Marcella Hoblit of New Madison and Wilma Eley of New Carlisle.

Ruth was a homemaker. She was a member of the Oak Grove Old German Baptist Church Bradford, Ohio.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, June 22, 2019, at Oak Grove Old German Baptist Church, Martin Rd, Bradford with the Home Brethren officiating. Marvin E. Kochersperger (June 19, 2019)

Marvin E. Kochersperger, age 87 of Arcanum, Ohio passed away at 8:04 AM Wednesday June 19, 2019 at the Upper Valley Medical Center, Troy, Ohio. Marvin was born January 22, 1932 in Darke County, Ohio and the son of the late Gerald and Dorothy (Grile) Kochersperger.

He was retired from General Motors, Rogers Grain as a truck driver and had farmed in the Darke County Area.

Marvin was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the U.S. Army from July 1, 1952 to March 10, 1954. He attended the First United Presbyterian Church of Greenville; a devoted and faithful servant of the Masonic Fraternity, he served as Past Worshipful Master (1990) of Greenville Masonic Lodge #143; member of the Greenville Masonic Lodge Craft Club; Board Member of the Greenville Masonic Temple Company; Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of Dayton where he was a 32nd Degree Mason; Antioch Shrine of Dayton; Darke County Shrine Club; Past High Priest of Greenville Chapter #77, Royal Arch Masons of Ohio; Past Illustrious Master of Matchett Council #91, Greenville, Royal and Select Masons of Ohio; Eminent Commander of Coleman Commandery #17 Troy, Ohio, Knights Templar of Ohio. He was a long time Secretary/Recorder of Greenville Chapter #77 and Matchett Council #91, respectively. Having served as a past presiding officer of Greenville Masonic Lodge, Greenville Chapter, Matchett Council and Coleman Commandery, Marvin was honored by the Grand Commandery, Ohio Priory #18, by being Knighted a Knight York Cross of Honour. He was also a member of the Greenville American Legion, Darke County Farm Bureau and was an avid Franklin Monroe Jets sports fan.

Marvin is survived by his wife of 67 years, Janice (Beard) Kochersperger of Arcanum. Their children Debbie Guy (Al Hilderbrant) of Dayton, Kathy (Tom) Brinkman of Greenville, Peggy Klingmann of Wesley Chapel, Florida, Sherri Thompson (Kenny Subler) of Greenville and Lori (Scott) Robison of Laura; 15 grandchildren: Jason Guy, Nicole Laughter, Zack Guy, Amy Brinkman, Steve Brinkman, Alec Frawley, Joel Frawley, Kyle Klingmann, Cody Klingmann, Luke Thompson, Ryan Thompson, Brett Robison, Brandon Robison, Brian Robison and Bryce Robison; 10 great grandchildren; brother John (Donna) Kochersperger of New Paris; sister Mary Lou (Dr. Howard) Short of Racine, Wisconsin; brother-in-law Norman (Kay) Beard of Goleta, California as well as numerous nieces and nephew.

There will be a Masonic Memorial Service conducted by the Greenville Masonic Lodge followed by the Scottish Rite Ring Degree Service at 2:00 PM Monday June 24, 2019 in the Zechar Bailey Funeral Home Greenville, Ohio. The Funeral Service will immediately follow the Masonic Services on Monday in the funeral home with Pastor Andrew Gilman officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM in the funeral home. Burial with Military Graveside Services conducted by the Greenville Veteran’s Honor Guard will be held in the Highland Cemetery Covington, Ohio following all services in the funeral home.

Marilyn Maxine Nealeigh (June 16, 2019)

Marilyn Maxine Nealeigh, 89 of Greenville, Ohio, passed away early Sunday morning on June 16, 2019, at Village Green Health Care in Greenville.

Marilyn was born on June 24, 1929, in Boston, Indiana to the late Lucian B. and Orpha P. (Hobbs) McDowell.

In addition to her parents, Marilyn was preceded in death by her first husband, Lester Fourman, her second husband, Daniel Nealeigh; her sisters, Pauline Robbins, Marilyn's twin sister, Mary Dees, Martha Lockwood, and Jenny Lybarger.

Marilyn was a creative person. She loved music and taught herself how to play the organ and piano and could play any song by ear. She had many passions in life; she loved reading, boating, and going out to eat with friends and family. She loved crafting, or as she would say, "purdying things up". She had an amazing sense of humor and enjoyed making people laugh, or laughing at herself. She loved her family and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Marjorie Elaine Melling, age 76 of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 11:36 PM Sunday June 16, 2019 at the Brethren Retirement Community of Greenville. Marjorie was born July 16, 1942 in Greenville, Ohio and the daughter of the late Morris W. and Dorothy M. (Nowlin) Flatter.

She had been a Quality Control Inspector at the local Corning Glass Plant until their closing and also the former owner of Flatter’s Harley-Davidson Motorcycle Shop of Greenville.

Marjorie loved riding motorcycles, playing crossword puzzles, scrabble, cards and Sudoku.

A loving mother and grandmother, she is survived by her children Gregory “Madman” Melling, Gery (JoEllen) Melling, Morrisa (Robert) Reed and Gina Melling all of Greenville; grandchildren Joshua (Ashley) Melling, Kristina (Richard) Robinson, Jordan (Liz) Collins, Daniel Collins, Elizabeth Reed and Shelby Perkins as well as 5 great grandchildren.

Private Graveside Services will be held at the convenience of the family in the Miller Cemetery 4764 Clark Station Road Greenville, Ohio with Pastor Japheth Bear officiating. There will be no visitation.

Stephen A. Uhrig (June 11, 2019)

Stephen A. Uhrig, age 72 of Arcanum, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at 10:50 AM at the Upper Valley Medical Center in Troy, Ohio. Born in Dayton, Ohio on February 3, 1947 he was the only child to Norma L. (Spitler) Uhrig and the late Damon L. Uhrig. Stephen worked as an electrician for Corning in Greenville for 36 years. Later in life he was an EMT/Firefighter for the Arcanum Fire & Rescue squad. He was a veteran having served for the United States Coast Guard from 1966-1970. Stephen was a member of the Greenville American Legion, and Elks Lodge. In his free time he enjoyed gardening and traveling. He will truly be missed. In addition to his father he is preceded in death by his wife Deborah Lou “Debbie” (Clark) Uhrig.

Survived by his mother Norma L. Uhrig of Troy, Ohio: as well as many more cousins, family members, and friends.

A graveside service with military honors will be held at Abbottsville Cemetery at 11:00 AM, Friday, June 21, 2019. Burial to follow. Ashely P. Noggle (June 12, 2019)

Ashely P. Noggle, 47, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at his home.

Ashley was born on January 20, 1972 in Greenville, to Rosemary Nation of Lewisburg, Ohio, and Ross Noggle of Greenville.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Jerry Nation.

Ashley was your typical "boy". He and his friends would ride and ramp their bikes and listen to loud music. He and his friends would bring their instruments and gather in his basement and play. He played the drums and would sing. As he got older, his bikes got faster and more dangerous and his music got louder. Ashley was always drawn to electronics which lead him to enroll at Edison State College where he studied to be an electrical engineer. He enjoyed tinkering with anything electronic and could fix just about everything. He eventually started working at Fram and became a tool and die maker. Ashley worked at Fram for 20 years. Ashley was a family man. He loved his wife dearly and his little boy was the center of his universe. Nothing made him happier than spending time with his "buddy".

In addition to his parents, Ashley is survived by his wife of 12 years, Jeannettee (Velasco) Noggle, whom he married on November 29, 2006; his son, Ashton Noggle of Greenville; his step-father, Paul Nation of Lewsiburg; his brothers, Andrew (Tosha Jones) Nation of Pleasant Hill, Ohio, and Tommy (Kat) Nation of West Milton, Ohio; his aunts, Linda (Gene) McNew of New Madison, Ohio, Roberta (Bob) Hub of Troy, Ohio, Karen (Jimmy Strange) Nation of Greenville, Joanne (Darrell) Richards of West Alexandria, Ohio and Elaine (Larry) Wetzel of Arcanum, Ohio; his nephew, Logan Nation; and his cousin, Brian Wetzel. Ashley also leaves behind his best friend, Don (Chrissy) Myers of Greenville, and countless other friends and family.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 22, 2019 at Tribute Funeral Homes, Greenville Campus, with Fr. John White officiating.

Larry D. Badger, age 64 of Greenville, Ohio passed away unexpectedly at his home on June 11, 2019. Born in Orangeburg, South Carolina on April 17, 1955, he was one of 7 children born to Geraldyne (Glover) Badger & the late Athaniel W. Badger, Sr. Larry was a substitute teacher & football coach for Mississinawa Schools. He had a love for music, especially playing the drums. He was a wonderful man, who was loved by many. He will be truly missed. In addition to his father he is preceded in death by both maternal and paternal grandparents.

William A. (Bill) Shields (June 12, 2019)

William A. (Bill) Shields, age 84 of Columbus, Ohio passed away peacefully at 2:10 AM Wednesday June 12, 2019 at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio. Bill was born January 10, 1935 in Greenville, Ohio and the son of the late Carl D. and F. Augusta (Shultz) Shields. He grew up in the Greenville area before moving to Sidney and finally to Columbus, Ohio in 1980.

Bill was a 1952 graduate of Greenville High School. Upon graduation Bill worked for A&P Supermarkets and then Kraft Foods for 34 years during which time he held the positon of Sales Rep., Supervisor, and District Manager before retiring in 1992. Bill was active in the Greenville Church of the Brethren until moving to Sidney, Ohio, was a Boy Scout Master, Greenville Troop #182, participated in the Greenville Chamber of Commerce & Jaycees, was President of the Park Board, served on the Republican Central and Executive committee, worked on his parent’s farm and was a dedicated family man.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Richard Shields.

Surviving is his wife, Phyllis (Fourman), Shields of 64 years; three children, David Shields (Sue) of New Kent, VA, Elaine Hanf (Brent) of Mentor, Ohio and Jim Shields (Mia Sossei) of Chicago, IL; seven grandchildren, Leah King(Greg), Nathanial Shields(Samantha), Ariel Bond (Tim), Micheal Hanf, Erik Hanf (Angela), Hazel Shields, Tabitha Shields; six great grandchildren, Haele King, Kaylee King, Charlotte Shields, Nicholae Bond, Thomas Bond, Isabella Hanf; three siblings, Doris Charles of Fayetteville, Ohio, Duane Shields of Greenville and Kay Shields of Columbus, Ohio; many nieces, nephews, cousins, brother-in law, sister-in-law and friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday June 17, 2019 in the Zechar Bailey Funeral Home 1499 N. Broadway Greenville, Ohio with Pastor Ron Sherck officiating. Dale Leroy Beam (June 9, 2019)

Dale Leroy Beam, 74, of Nicholasville, Kentucky, formerly of Ansonia, Ohio, passed away on June 9, 2019 at University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky.

Dale was born on January 20, 1945 in Darke County, Ohio, to the late William and Hazel (Lavy) Beam.

In addition to his parents, Dale was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, Donald Beam, Roger Beam, Charles Duane Beam, Freda Reier, Betty Schotz, William Stanley Beam, Jr., and Ralph Beam; his grandson, Matthew Dale Beam; and his mother-in-law, Geneva Henry.

Dale was a 1963 graduate of Versailles High School. After graduating, he began his career as a truck driver, driving for several companies over his 14-year career. Dale was proud that he had been in 48 states and, "seen them twice" as he would say. When being on the road took its toll, Dale went to work for Carter Plumbing, Electric and Heating as a salesman, eventually working his way up to general manager. Dale retired in 2001 after 28 years of dedicated service. He then moved to his house on the hill overlooking the lake in Harrodsburg, Kentucky.

Dale had many passions in life; he loved fishing, farming and was a huge sports fan. He loved John Wayne and George Jones. But his greatest love was his family. He loved his wife, his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Dale was known as Pappy to his grandchildren and maintained a wonderful relationship with his brothers and sisters. He was a social creature who never knew a stranger. It was impossible to meet Dale and not like him. He would do anything for anyone and was the first person to call if you needed help. He took it upon himself to take many children under his wing and tried to be a role model and father figure to them all. Dale was a bright light that everyone was drawn to and his personality and spirit will be forever missed.

Dale is survived by his wife of 40 years, Cynthia Lynn (Hickey) Beam, whom he married August 14, 1978; his children and their spouses, Teresa and Keith Lynch of Griffin, Georgia, Lonnie and Tonya Beam of Greenville, Ohio, Jeff Beam of Nicholasville, Olivia Moore of Greenville, Jennifer and Sean Plessinger of Greenville, Bill Beam of Nicholasville, and Jodi Beam of Nicholasville; his grandchildren, Olivia Lynch, Cody Beam, Kylie Beam, Noah Beam, Dylan Moore, Kristin Moore, Kaitlin Beam, Ethan Meyer, Christian Spahr, Martina Spahr, Brendan Beam, Kambree Beam, Peyton Beam, and Belle Griffith; his great-grandchildren, Tallulah Beam, and Elliot Beam. Dale also leaves behind his brothers, sisters and their spouses, Delores and David Partin-Cleveland of Hillgrove, Ohio, Danny and Peggy Beam of Ansonia, Ohio, and Harold Beam of Piqua, Ohio; and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Joanie Beam, Kris Beam, Angela and Dave Rhorer, Tammy and Shawn Howell, Debbie and Eugene Edwards, Don Hickey, and Gary Hickey.

Theora Mae Rismiller (June 7, 2019)

Theora Mae Rismiller age 94, of Rossburg passed away at 11:23 AM on Friday, June 7, 2019, at State of the Heart Hospice Care Center at Wayne HealthCare in Greenville.

Theora was born January 18, 1925, in Union City, Ohio, to the late Earl F. & Esther (Martin) Wagner. In addition to her parents, Theora was also preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Adolph Rismiller on February 2, 1984, whom she married July 16, 1950; daughter, Sharon K. Fourman on February 12, 2018; and brother, Duane Wagner.

Theora is survived by her children, Ronald W. Rismiller & Robin Johnson of Ansonia, Douglas L. Rismiller of Osgood and Cinda S. Rismiller of Lima; grandchildren, Krista Fourman & Bill Unger and Kimberlee & Brad Freeman; great-grandchildren, Kylee Freeman, Brayden Freeman and Kennedy Freeman; son-in-law, Randy Fourman of Arcanum; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Theora was a 1943 graduate of Greenville High School. She was a homemaker and helped on the family farm. Theora was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in North Star where she taught Sunday school for 30 years. She was a charter member of the Darke County Farmers Union. Theora enjoyed bird watching, flowers, gardening, cooking, playing the piano, polka dancing and reading daily devotionals and books about the Amish. She will be forever known as “Granny” to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, June 15, 2019, at St. Paul Lutheran Church 13495 Greenville St. Marys Rd. (North Star) Versailles with Rev. Brian S. McGee officiating. Betty Maxine Foureman (June 7, 2019)

Betty Maxine Foureman, 96, of Greenville, Ohio passed away peacefully on Friday, June 7, 2019, at State of Heart Care Center in Greenville.

She was born on February 27, 1923, in Darke County, Ohio to the late Jesse Howe and Echo O’Brian.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her son, Duane Singer; and her siblings, Harold “Bud” Howe, Thelma Gail “Dolly” Howe, and Herbert Howe.

Betty had celebrated her 96th Birthday this past February and maintained the presence of mind and spirit to recall all manner of events and loved ones. Including special times with her baby sister, Dolly who died in 1939, along with missing her longtime friends and companions, and things that she and Floyd, her husband of 72 years, had said, laughed or just thought about. She was ever and always able to take any and all attitudes that came her way and use gentleness and warm laughter to soften the words and enrich the person.

Her joys were many - children, eating out, old music, polkas, the Great Darke County Fair, rain squalls, funny and humorous sayings, old friends, new friends and in general, those with smiles. The messages that came from her were always those of kindness, concern, smiles, and love.

Betty is survived by her husband, Floyd Foureman, whom she married on May 8, 1947; her children, Jackie (Donna) Singer of Tipp City, Ohio, Annette Deeter of Ripon California, Lucille Deeter of Ripon California, Gary (Lois Ann) Foureman of Durham, North Carolina, Dwight (Peggy) Foureman of Arcanum, Ohio, and Sharon Foureman of Greenville; her grandchildren, Angie (Ben) Blumenstock of Greenville, Ami Powell of Piqua, Aaron Foureman of Greenville, Eric (Pam) Foureman of Verona, Ohio, Emily (Scott) Harrison of Brookville, Ohio, Jason (Megan) Foureman of Chapel Hill, North Carolina, Brian Singer of Dayton, Collene Singer of Dayton, and Susan (Greg) McCrabb of Columbus; and her numerous great and great-great grandchildren.

Kenneth (Kenny) Ray Delk, 76, of Rossburg, Oh, passed away Sunday, June 9, 2019 at his home surrounded by family.

Kenny was born April 28, 1943 in Greenville, Oh to Forest and Ruby Delk. Served in the National Guard for 6 years, active for 6 months, stationed in Fort Knox, Kentucky. Kenny married Marcia Kay Williams on October 23, 1963. Kenny retired after 45 years of work from Fram.

He was preceded in death by his parents Forrest and Ruby (Kreider) Delk, brothers: Carroll Delk, James Delk, Doyle Delk, and Lenvall Delk.

Kenny is survived by his wife of 53 years Marcia K. Delk of Rossburg, his son Dennis Delk and his wife Tina Delk of Arcanum OH, his two daughters Linda Delk of Greenville OH and Debra Hartley of Columbus OH. Ten grandchildren, Amy Henning and Michael Whittaker, Kristen DeVone and husband Seth DeVone, Johnathon Henning, Geannette Henning, Nathan Henning, Sarah Henning and Owen McGuire; Marissa Wilson, Rachael Wilson; David Delk. Betty Jean (King) Eaton (June 7, 2019)

Betty Jean (King) Eaton, 97, of Greenville, Ohio, formerly of Dewart Lake, Syracuse, Indiana, went to be with the Lord on Friday, June 7, 2019 at the Brethren Retirement Community in Greenville.

She was born on June 2, 1922 in Elwood, Indiana to the late James and Marjorie (Jones) King.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Eugene Eaton, whom she married on February 15, 1948; and her brother, Robert King.

Betty was a faithful follower of Christ, and was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church in Syracuse. Serving in her church consumed much of her time, Circle, Choir, For Fun, and visiting the nursing homes. She loved to travel and kept her suitcase packed. Some of Betty’s favorite things included singing in the Choir and being in the Rhythm Band that visited local nursing homes for over 30 years. She loved to collect poetry and even wrote a lot of her own. Several of the grandkids' weddings included a poem written by Grandma just for them.

Betty is survived by her children and their spouses, Linda and Mike Fourman of Greenville, Ohio, and John and Connie Eaton of Warsaw, Indiana; her grandchildren and their spouses, Sarah and Tracy Soper of Richmond, Indiana, Rachel and John Brown of Nappanee, Indiana, Matthew and Kara Fourman of Maumee, Ohio, David and Mandy Fourman of Tipp City, Ohio, and Aaron and Amy Fourman of Worthington, Ohio; her great-grandchildren, Kade, Mason, Killian, Mera, Tyler, Heidi, Hallie, Kate, Maddie, Ella, Charlotte, Jillian, Macy, and Lila; and her numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Betty’s life will take place at the convenience of the family. Burial will follow at the Syracuse Cemetery in Syracuse, Indiana at a later date.

Arthur D. Ganger (June 6, 2019)

Arthur D. Ganger, 82, of Greenville, Ohio passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 6, 2019 at Rest Haven Nursing Home in Greenville.

He was born on December 5, 1936 in Montgomery County, Ohio to the late Henry and Opal (Eby) Ganger.

In addition to his parents, Arthur was preceded in death by his son Randy Ganger; and his brother Eldon Ganger.

Arthur was a simple man who lived a simple life. He owned and operated a plastering company where he served the surrounding areas. After he retired, he began to travel the country as an evangelist sharing the Lord’s teachings. When Arthur returned to Darke County, he volunteered for the Community Action Center where he and his wife would prepare and deliver meals to those who were homebound.

Arthur is survived by his wife, Barbara Dillon, together they have shared 25 years; his children, Scott (Peggy) Ganger of Florida and Robert Ferrer of North Carolina; his six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren; his sister Ruth Ann (Larry) Crowell of Englewood, Ohio; his brother, Dale (Barbara) Ganger of Arcanum; his wife’s children, Suzanne McNemar of Centerville, Ohio, Gary (Manina) Leigeber of Greenville, Keith (Rhonda) Leigeber of Franklin, Ohio, LaDeana ( Frank) Diver of Pitsburg, Ohio, and Matt (Carmen) Dillon; his wife’s eleven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Margaret E. Shaw (June 6, 2019)

Margaret E. Shaw, 72, of Ansonia, Ohio passed away in the early hours on Thursday, June 6, 2019 at Greenville Heath and Rehab in Greenville, Ohio.

She was born on October 29, 1946 in Knoxville, Tennessee to the late Charles E. "Chuck" Mackey and Margaret Helen Humphrey.

In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her brothers, Charles Mackey, Jr. and Robert Mackey.

Margaret enjoyed caring for others which shows through her choice of career, as a cook for Heartland of Greenville for over 28 years. It didn't take a lot to make her happy; she loved to can, she loved to read, and she enjoyed her soap opera, The Young and the Restless. Her specialty was harassing Harold. She was dedicated to her family and will be dearly missed.

Margaret is survived by her husband of 54 years, Harold Shaw, whom she married on November 23, 1964; her children, Kim (Kevin) Shuttleworth of Arcanum, Ohio, Stacy (Bruce McNulty) Shaw of Dixon, Missouri, and Melissa (Seth) Rhoades of Greenville; her grandchildren, Jaccob, Justin, Joshua, Sarah, Adrianna, Jason, Matthew, Benjamin, Sydnee, Chelsea, Kacady, and Noah, her 14 Great-Grandchildren; her sister, Rosemary Winblad of Chicago, Illinois, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

A celebration of Margaret's life will take place at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 15, 2019 at Tribute Funeral Homes, Greenville Campus, with Pam Shuttleworth officiating.

Susann L. Mendenhall (June 5, 2019)

Susann L. Mendenhall, age 76 of Greenville, Ohio passed away peacefully at 8:40 PM on Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at the State of the Heart Hospice Care Center, Greenville, Ohio. Born in Jefferson County, West Virginia on April 7, 1943 she was the only child to the late Juan Geraldo & Edna Louise (Appell) Acousta. Susann had been an X-Ray Technician for 28 years at Henry County Memorial Hospital in New Castle, Indiana. She was a member of the Greenville Church of the Brethren and had previously served as Deacon at the Nettle Creek Church in Hagerstown, Indiana. She enjoyed collecting coins, had a strong Christian faith; and loved spending time with her grandchildren. She will be deeply missed. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her grandmother Jessie E. Appell: Aunt and loving friend Ellis Kathleen Appell Whittington.

Survived by her husband of 54 years, Thomas Mendenhall, whom she married March 21, 1965: son Greg Mendenhall: daughters Stacia Fenton and Jane Fryback: grandchildren Daniel M. Fenton; Morgan D. Fenton; Tyler J. Sharp; Alex R. Fryback; Cristina M. Joshua David Badell (June 2, 2019)

Joshua David Badell, age 39 of Greenville, Ohio passed away early Sunday morning June 2, 2019 in Las Vegas, Nevada as a result of an automobile accident. Joshua was born June 18, 1979 in Greenville, Ohio and the son of Sylvia Kelly-Pressnall of Greenville and the late José Badell.

He was a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Greenville, the Eagles Lodge of Greenville and a 1998 Graduate of Greenville Senior High School.

In addition to his father José, he was preceded in death by his father Michael E. Pressnall April 21, 2018 and a brother Jason Badell.

Joshua’s survivors in addition to his mother Sylvia are brothers Joseph (Ana) Badell of Greenville, Jeremiah (Aubrey) Badell of Cincinnati and Todd (Tammy) Pressnall of Greenville; nieces and nephews José, Pablo, Zoe, Carlos, Carmen, McKenzie, Isabel, Sophia, Micah and Lyla.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM Monday June 10, 2019 in the St. Mary’s Catholic Church 233 West Third Street Greenville, Ohio with Rev. Father David Kelly as Celebrant. Burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM and on Monday from 9:30 AM until 10:15 AM in the Zechar Bailey Funeral Home Greenville. The Rosary will be recited on Sunday at 4:45 PM in the funeral home.

Martin Charles Tienken (June 5, 2019)

Martin Charles Tienken, age 85, of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 2:00 AM Wednesday June 5, 2019 at the Oakley Place of Greenville. He was born February 13, 1934 in Hempstead, New York and the son of the late Fred and Etta (Fredericks) Tienken.

Martin was a veteran serving in the U.S. Army and a member of the First United Presbyterian Church of Greenville. He was retired as a Truck Driver of and oil truck and has been involved with repairing oil burners.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by 9 brothers and sisters.

Martin is survived by his wife Virginia L. (Hepner) Tienken of Greenville. They were married October 1, 1981. Also numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Graveside Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday June 8, 2019 in the Greenville Cemetery Greenville, Ohio with Elder Alan Ayette officiating. There will be no visitation.

Carl E. Hays (June 3, 2019)

Carl E. Hays, 90, of Hollansburg, Ohio passed away on Monday, June 3, 2019, at his residence.

He was born on August 8, 1928, in Connersville, Indiana to the late Robert and Bertha (Nunier) Hays.

In addition to his parents, Carl was preceded in death by his wife, Maxine J. (Coon) Hays, whom he married on April 16, 1966; his son, Michael Hays; his grandson, Christopher Wilt; and his siblings, LeRoy Hays and Eldora Prather.

Carl enjoyed working and getting his hands dirty. He retired from the Wayne Corporation in 1990, where he built school buses for 36 years. After retirement, Carl delivered school buses and work as a maintenance man for the Friends Fellowship Retirement Community in Richmond. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles in Richmond. Carl was a faithful follower of Christ and was a member of the St. Paul Episcopal Church in Greenville. In his free time, he enjoyed baking and making goodies for his family and friends.

Carl is survived by his children, Carla (Dan) Mintkenbaugh of Arcanum, Ohio, and Cathy Hays of Hollansburg; his grandchildren, Stephen and Ashley Hays, Brooke and Shelby Mintkenbaugh, and Hannah Hays; his 2 great-grandchildren, his brother Stephen (Shirley) Hays of Crestview Florida, and his numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Carl’s life will take place at 2:00 PM on Friday, June 7, 2019, at Tribute Funeral Homes, New Madison Campus with Father Wayne Rollins officiating. Burial will follow at Hollansburg Cemetery in Hollansburg.

Guests may visit with Carl’s family on Friday from 1:00 PM until the time of services at the funeral home.

Terry Lee “Mo” Crawford (June 1, 2019)

Terry Lee “Mo” Crawford age 63, of Greenville passed away at 6:41 PM on Saturday, June 1, 2019, at Oakley Place in Greenville.

Terry was born August 28, 1955, in Darke County to the late Leonard & Martha Marie (Okey) Crawford.

Terry is survived by his daughters & son-in-law, Tera & Joe Huffman of Greenville and Tayler Crawford of Greenville; their mother, Pam Crawford of Greenville; grandchildren, Landrey Huffman, Zander Huffman, and granddog, Jersey Crawford; brothers & sisters-in-law, Garry & Roslyn Crawford of Antelope, California and Jerry & Vickie Crawford of Greenville; sisters & brother-in-law, Joyce Crawford Bonner of Cincinnati and Debbie & Colin Bennett of Cincinnati; special cousin, Larry Lewis; special friends, Lloyd & Nancy Lammott, Hope Hapner, Doug Fellers, Jerry Vietor and Kent Rehmert; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Terry was a proud descendant of Longtown. He was a 1973 graduate of Tri-Village High School but was a Westmont Wildcat at heart. Terry retired from the Ohio Department of Transportation with 27 years of service. He was a certified welder, loved woodworking and was an excellent cook. He enjoyed tenderloin Tuesdays with friends; sitting in his shop that he built; traveling the United States to car shows; and driving his 1938 Chevy Coupe that he restored. Terry was a true athlete; he excelled at baseball, basketball, track, fishing and bowled a 300. Terry was a Cleveland Browns and Muhammad Ali fan.

Terry’s daughters would like to thank all of his friends for their support. They would also like to thank the nurses, aides and staff at Oakley Place and State of the Heart Care for their amazing care of their father.

A celebration of Terry’s life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 8, 2019, at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville with Chaplain Jacque Collins officiating. Robert Calvin “Bob” Miller (June 3, 2019)

Robert Calvin “Bob” Miller, 93 of Versailles, Ohio, passed away on Monday June 3, 2019 at 9:13 AM at Versailles Health Care Center, Versailles, Ohio. He was born August 28, 1925 in Darke County, Ohio, the son of the late Lawrence & Mary Hazel (Routzong) Miller.

He was a member of Versailles United Methodist Church, where he was a trustee; he was a member of the Greenville Eagles & Greenville Moose Lodge. He retired after 33 years from Wayne Feeds Inc. of Greenville, Ohio formerly O’Briens Milling; he was a custodian for Greenville School System and 10 years as a custodian at Versailles Schools; he was also a part time groundskeeper at Stillwater Golf Course in Webster for 20 years.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife: Alma Roberta (York) Miller on May 9, 2019 whom he married November 26, 1949; his sisters: Hazel Mary Louise Miller, Ruby Miller, Frances (Darylle) Herrmann, Glenna (Cecil) Burkett, Mary Maxine (Marion) Snyder, Thelma (John) Henry, Iris Jean (Charles) Wills; his brother: Ivan “Jack” Miller.

He is survived by his daughter & son in law: Sally & David Keiser of Versailles; her grandchildren & spouses: Matthew & Jodi Keiser of Fort Loramie, Kristen & Jeffry Weaver of Troy; great grandchildren: Joel, Zachary, Ethan, Kylie, Lilly, McKenna, & Brantley; close family friend: David Nixon; sister: Norma Brumbaugh; numerous nieces & nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Friday June 7, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home, Versailles, Ohio with Pastor Chuck MacKeen officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Mary Evelyn “Evie” Geeting (May 31, 2019)

Mary Evelyn “Evie” Geeting, 95 of St. Mary’s Ohio and formerly of Darke County, Ohio passed away on Friday May 31, 2019 at 8:25 AM while under the care of Grand Lake Hospice at Otterbein St. Mary’s Retirement Community. She was born April 28, 1924 in New Madison, Ohio the daughter of the late Harry F. & Irene (Stoner) Mikesell.

Evie was a bookkeeper for Savona Grain and Feed and prior to getting married, she worked for the FBI in Washington D.C. Evie and her husband lived in North Fort Myers, Florida for 10 years prior to moving back to Otterbein St. Mary’s Retirement Community.

Evie was a member of the First Universalist Church in New Madison.

Evie is preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Wayne Geeting on May 1, 2009 whom she married July 3, 1946; and her sister: Janie Fryman.

Evie is survived by her daughters & sons in law: Janet & Roger Cassity of Arcanum, Joyce & Shorty Dues of Celina, Brenda & Michael Murphy of Longmont, Colorado; her grandchildren: David & Mallory Cassity, Nick & Tera Bowers, Megan & Bradley Wombolt, & Cassandra Murphy, Andy & Traci Dues, Scott & Mindy Dues, Jenny & Kai Kuramoto, & Justin Dues; 12 great grandchildren.
