Carl LeRoy Robison (July 29, 2013)

Carl LeRoy Robison, 71, of Woodington, Ohio, passed away Monday, July 29, 2013 at Union City, Ohio.

He was born September 7, 1941, a son of the late Ben and Virginia (Downey) Robison.

Carl was a great wood worker and carver having won many awards and ribbons. He has also made many relatives very happy with his many presents of his carvings and Christmas ornaments. He was also a member of the Woodington Congregational Christian Church.

Carl is survived by his wife of 42 years, Sandy K. (Oswalt) Robison of Woodington, Ohio; one son, Tony Robison and Rhonda of Pigeon Forge, TN; three daughters, Navada (Ron) Clack of Sevierville, TN, Carmen Robison and Matt Dillon of Greenville, OH, and Jennifer (David) Milligan of Greenville, OH; 7 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held 7PM Thursday, August 1, 2013 at the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville, with Rev. Terry Haworth officiating. The family will be receiving guests from 4 - 7PM Thursday.

Gerald D. "Jerry" McClellan (July 29, 2013)

Gerald D. "Jerry" McClellan, 51, of Hollansburg, Ohio passed away unexpectedly on July 29, 2013 at Wayne Hospital in Greenville. Jerry was born on November 30, 1961 in Richmond, Indiana to Patty (Varvel) Louk of Winchester, Indiana and the late Earl Edward McClellan, Jr.

Jerry loved fishing, NASCAR - especially Dale Earnhart Jr. and Sr., going to the casino boats and playing poker. He was a 1980 graduate of Mississinawa High School, a member of the VFW, American Legion, and Amvets of Eldorado. Jerry made the best fudge and loved cooking. He was a great brother, son and had the biggest heart for people.

In addition to his mother, Jerry is survived by his fiancé, Diane Pace of Greenville; four brothers, Ron McClellan of Winchester, Fred McClellan of Kentucky, Mark and Barb McClellan of Indiana , Indiana and Mike and Wendy McClellan of Liberty, Indiana; two sisters, Shirley and Rob Cummoms of Richmond, Indiana and Tammy and Jim Suttles of Winchester, Indiana; step children, Bobbie Sue Hampshire, Sam Billups, Eran Woodyard, Ricky and Kristina Pace, Brandy and Brian Stahl, Angie Pace and Breanna Smith and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life service will be held on Friday, August 2, 2013 at 10:00 AM at Braund Pope Funeral Home with Pastor Tony Price being asked to officiate. The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 1, 2013 from 5-8 PM also at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Greenmound Cemetery in New Madison, Ohio.

Michael Lee Stutz (July 27, 2013)

Michael Lee Stutz, age 52, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, July 27, 2013 at 4:27 PM at Reid Hospital in Richmond, Indiana. He was born January 31, 1961 in Greenville, Ohio, and is preceded in death by his parents, Duane & Carol (Deeter) Wolf.

Mike is survived by his wife, Laura (Crow) Stutz of Greenville whom he married on November 4, 1995; daughters, Autumn and Aubrey Stutz of Greenville; father in law and mother in law, Richard & Brenda Crow of Columbus, Georgia; brothers, Randy Stutz of Jamestown, Ohio, Phil Stutz of Versailles, Ohio, and Bobby Stutz of Rossburg, Ohio; nieces, Holly Stutz and Dawn Stewart; and aunt, Treva Bain of Greenville.

Mike really enjoyed hunting and fishing and most of all being with his family. He worked as a truck driver for Rumpke.

There will be a memorial service held on Friday, August 2, 2013 at 10:30 AM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio, with Pastor Arnold Wynn officiating. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mark J. McGee (July 26, 2013)

Mark J. McGee, 75, of Springfield, passed away Friday afternoon, July 26, 2013, at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton.

He was born January 4, 1938 in Union City, IN, son of the late David B. and Justine L. (DeFord) McGee.

Mark was retired from the US Navy as a Master Chief Hospital Corpsman after 21 years of service. A Beekeeper for 30 years, he had created McGee's Bees, and had also taught beekeeping. He had obtained the Eagle Scout Badge for the Boy Scouts, was a naturalist, and had taught photography classes at Edison State and at an extension branch of Wright State University.

He was a Grill Master who loved cooking and baking for family and friends. An avid reader, Mark was a highly creative individual who loved teaching others.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Jean F. (Flynn) McGee, whom he married February 21, 1976 in Naples, Italy; a daughter, Sarah E. McGee-Gentry and husband Alan Gentry of Springfield; a brother, Thomas P. McGee of Ansonia, OH; special friends, Sarah J. Couch, and Chris Brewer and family all of Springfield; his devoted dogs, Betty, Daisy, and Olive Jo; daughters, Erin McGee and Laura Gonzales; grandchildren, Garrett Sowers, Samuel Coppock, Sylvia Gonzales, and Sophia Gonzales.

Private services with full military honors by the Greenville veterans Honor Guard will take place at a later date at the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home , 1000 N. Broadway, Greenville, OH. Burial will follow in the Beamsville Cemetery, Beamsville, OH.

There will be no visitation.

Geraldine Marie Strait (July 26, 2013)

Geraldine Marie Strait, age 97, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Friday, July 26, 2013 at 11:30 AM at the Brethren Retirement Community, Greenville, Ohio. She was born on April 1, 1916 in Saint George, West Virginia, to the late Lela Pearl Owens.

She is survived by her children and spouses, Janet & Joe Blackford of Tipp City, Ohio, Mary & Jerry Blackford of Tipp City, Ohio, Virginia & Jim Blackford of New Madison, Ohio, Joann & Kenny Didier of Vancouver, Washington, Phillip & Becky Strait of Greenville and Nancy & Steve Conner of Greenville; 14 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; siblings, Melvin, Bruce, Norma, Jean and David of West Virginia and Susie of New Mexico; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her mother she is preceded in death by her husband, John Junior Strait; siblings, Todd, Gert, Roy, Jim, Ed and June; and grandson in law, Pat McNutt.

Geraldine was a housewife and also cared for the Shahan and Brows family. She taught Sunday school at Poplar Grove Church of the Brethren, was involved with the Jolly 60’s at Faith Baptist Church and the Service Circle at Hillgrove Federated Church and attend bible study groups. She loved playing baseball and games with the family, loved baking pies and bread and crocheting. She always had beautiful flower gardens with no weeds and also grew blue berries.

There will be a service held on Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at 10:30 AM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio, with Rev. Terry Haworth officiating. Burial will follow in the Teegarden Cemetery in Ansonia, Ohio. Family will receive friends on Monday, July 29, 2013 from 5-7 PM at the funeral home.

Jacquelyn Anne Whittington (July 25, 2013)

Jacquelyn Anne Whittington, age 42, of Palestine, Ohio, was born on October 24, 1970 in Greenville, Ohio. The Lord healed her and took her home on Thursday, July 25, 2013 at 5:12 AM at the Kobacker House in Columbus, Ohio. She is the daughter of Terry E. & Letha J. (Weimer) Whittington of Hollansburg, Ohio.

In addition to her parents she is survived by her sons, Donald Delarwelle and Zachery Delarwelle both of Palestine, Ohio; fiancé Arlis Turner of Palestine; siblings, Mary (Max) Cohan of Indianapolis, Thomas Whittington of Hollansburg, Rebecca (Ben Strauss) Whittington of Riffle, Colorado, and Sharli (Fiancé Mitch Hopkins) Phillips of Hollansburg; nieces and nephews, Eli & Micah Cohan, Kylan Whittington, Keenan, Aiden & Asher Strauss, Maggie & Johnny Phillips and Marc Hopkins.

She is preceded in death by her brother in law, Tim Phillips; paternal grandparents, Emmett & JoAnn Whittington, and maternal grandparents, Paul & Lois Weimer.

Jacquelyn was a very loving and dedicated mother and friend. She was a home health aide, a caregiver and homemaker and also worked at Whittington Produce. She loved cooking and feeding your family and friends. She was a member of the Eagles Lodge in Union City.

There will be a service held on Monday, July 29, 2013 at 2:30 PM at Fort Jefferson United Methodist Church, 3856 Church Street, Fort Jefferson, Ohio, with Pastor Doug Baker officiating. Burial will follow in the Hollansburg Cemetery, Hollansburg, Ohio. Family will receive friends on Sunday, July 28, 2013 from 2-4 PM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio.

Ann Shirley Myers age 74, of Versailles, Ohio passed away peacefully at 9:47 P.M. on Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at her residence, surrounded by her loving family. Ann was born August 29, 1938 in Dayton, Ohio to the late Garland F. & Rosella “Sally” (Moorman) Redick.

Ann is survived by her sons & daughters-in-law, David E. & Joann Myers of New Bremen and Thomas Lee & Janelle Myers of Versailles; daughters & son-in-law, Shirley & D Johns of Versailles and Tina L. Myers of Greenville; grandchildren, Dustin & Jenni Johns, Lyndsey & Matt Ross, Krista Myers & fiancé, Douglas Wuebker, Heather Myers, Kiley Myers, Skylar Myers, Butch Myers, Nathan Myers and Tyler Warner & friend Kayla; great-grandchildren, Dalton Johns, Corbin Johns, Isaiah Myers, Jackson Warner and Skylar Calvert; sisters & brothers-in-law, Sandy Barker of Tucson, Arizona, Jackie & Charles Valentine of North Carolina and Vicki & Ray Woodie of Dayton; brothers & sisters-in-law, John & Joella Redick of Eaton, Jim & Cheryl Redick of Virginia Beach, Virginia and Joe Redick of Phoenix, Arizona; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ann retired from Johns IGA and Valero in Versailles where she was a clerk. Ann formerly worked at Spidel, Staley, Hole & Hanes Law Office in Versailles where she was a legal secretary and the Y.M.C.A. Versailles Branch.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, July 29, 2013 at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home in Versailles with Rev. Dr. Kim Katterheinrich officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery in Versailles. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 3:00 to 8:00 P.M. and Monday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 A.M. at the funeral home. Frances Jean Morrow, age 78, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at 8:05 AM at Village Green Healthcare Center, Greenville, Ohio. She was born on May 30, 1935 in Fruita, Colorado, to the late Donovan & Merle (Oyler) Leslie.

She is survived by her children and spouses, DiLeon Morrow of Hawaii, Michael & Laura Morrow of California, Catherine & Bob Grillot of Piqua, Ohio, Susan & Howard Katz of Jacksonville, Florida, and Bruce & Sabreena Morrow of Oregon; 13 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; sister, Sallie Gabree of Georgia.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Maurice Morrow whom she married on July 17, 1954; brother Earl Leslie; sisters, Eleanor and Donna Leslie.

Francis worked at Wayne HeathCare for 30 years where she worked in various nurses positions. She was the founder of the Ostomy Care Group in Greenville.

There will be a Celebration of Life held on August 3, 2013 at 10:30 AM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio, with Pastor Sylvia McKibben officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Greenville, Ohio. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Melvin M. “Bud” Spencer, age 86, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at Rest Haven Nursing Home, Greenville, Ohio. He was born on September 25, 1926 in Darke County, Ohio, to the late Melvin P. & Marie (Dill) Spencer.

Melvin is survived by his wife, Helen V. (Yohey) Spencer of Greenville, Ohio, whom he married on August 26, 1946; sons and daughters in law, Melvin L. & Ginger Spencer of Columbus, Ohio, and Jack D. & Sandy Spencer of Vandalia, Ohio; daughter and son in law, Cinda S. & Sam George of Medway, Ohio; 7 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; 6 step great grandchildren; sister in law Shirley Yohey of Greenville; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents he is preceded in death by his sons, Steven and Terry Spencer; sisters, Nellie Leas, Doris Thomas, Perdita Baird and Mary Slade.

Melvin was a member of the United States Navy serving in WWII. He was a self-employed Farmer, was involved with the Darke County Plowing Organization where he was the past president, a member of the Palestine Church of Christ and American Legion #245 in New Madison and was the past president. He loved wood working.

There will be a service held on Monday, July 29, 2013 at 10:30 AM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio, with Pastor Gary Cloyd officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery, Ft. Jefferson, Ohio. Family will receive friends on Sunday, July 28, 2013 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the funeral home. There will be a full military service conducted by the Greenville Veterans Honor Guard.

Anita G. Price, 62, of Greenville, Ohio passed away Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Dayton, Ohio

She was born on November 17, 1950 in Hamilton, Ohio, a daughter of the late Troy and Clara (Johnson) Kincaid. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister, Linda Smith.

Anita was a homemaker and a member of the 1st Assembly Church of God of Greenville.

She is survived by her husband, Thomas Clinton Price of Greenville; sons, Thomas (Jane) Price, Jr., Daniel Smith and Joseph (Jessica) Smith all of Greenville; 6 grandchildren, Seth, Caden, McKenzie, Ljay and Landon Smith, and Nicole Angelina Kiser; sisters, Melody (Mike) Dean of Troy, and Marlene Kincaid of Greenville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 12 noon Saturday, July 27, 2013 at the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11am until the time of service on Saturday.

Elizabeth K. (Wamboldt) Oler, 91, of Greenville, passed away on Monday, July 22, 2013 at Heartland of Greenville. Elizabeth was born on August 7, 1921 to the late John A. and Sylvia (Mount) Wamboldt.

In addition to her parents, Elizabeth is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Oler; son, William E. Oler; brothers, Robert and Edward Wamboldt; sisters, Mildred McElmurray, Lois Wamboldt and Evelyn Bogan and a grandson Patrick Oler.

Amy Janeane Fashner (July 22, 2013)

Amy Janeane Fashner, age 41 of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 1:00 P.M. Monday July 22, 2013 at her residence. She was born April 3, 1972 in Marietta, Georgia and the daughter of Lee Thompson of Covington, Ohio and the late Jackie (Robertson) Thompson.

Amy was employed as a customer survey technologist at Remedi Senior Care of Troy, Ohio and was a member and Elder of the Bradford Presbyterian Church.

In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents Joseph and Rita Thompson and her maternal grandparents Everette Earl and Dorothy Fay Robertson.

Amy is survived by her husband Chip Fashner of Greenville. They were married May 4, 1991. Also her children Zachary Fashner and Cassie Fashner, both of Casper, Wyoming. A grandchild B.L. Fashner, Brother Rusty Thompson of Bradford, Ohio and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday July 29, 2013 in the First Presbyterian Church 114 East Fourth Street Greenville, Ohio with the Rev. Dr. John Person officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday from 11:00 A.M. until 2:00 P.M. in the church.

Mrs. Nettie J. Adams, 96 of Greenville, Ohio passed away on Sunday July 21, 2013 at 3:35 AM at Rest Haven Nursing Home, Greenville, Ohio. She was born October 20, 1916 in Wooton, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Elihue & Mary (Melton) Begley.

She retired in 1979 from Inland Manufacturing Co., of Greenville. She was a member of Emanuel Baptist Church of Arcanum, & Arcanum Eastern Star.

She is preceded in death by her parents; Husband: Luther Adams in 1991; Son: Luther Wayne Adams.

She is survived by her son & daughter in law: John M. & Ruth Ann Adams of West Alexandria, Ohio; daughters & sons in law: Kathryn & Jim Smith of Arcanum, Ann & Ike Combs of Arcanum, Lou & Eddie Mayabb of New Lebanon, Ohio; 10 grandchildren; & numerous nieces & nephews.

Nancy E. Brandt, 79 of Versailles, Ohio passed away on Saturday July 20, 2013 at 6:20 AM at the Versailles Health Care Center. She was born February 1, 1934 in Darke County, Ohio the daughter of the late Homer & Ellen (Wasson) Fields. She worked at Rest Haven Nursing Home for 23 years retiring in 1992. She was a member of Versailles United Methodist Church, Church Choir, & UMW. She was a 1952 Graduate of Versailles High School; a 1969 graduate of Dayton School of Practical Nursing. She was a founding member of Town & Country Players, participating in many plays and musicals. She volunteered at the Versailles health Care Center and Meals on Wheels

She is preceded in death by her parents; Granddaughter: Mandy Barga.

She is survived by her husband: John E. Brandt of Versailles whom she married August 16, 1953; children & spouses: Bonnie Brandt of Greenville, Vicki Ahlers of Greenville, John & Kelley Brandt Jr. of Indiana, Sally & John Knapke of Yorkshire, Lisa & Terry Barga of Versailles; 12 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; sister: Susan Fields of Versailles; sister cousin: Ramona Nickol.

Charme L. Caris, 90, of Greenville, Ohio, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at the Brethren Retirement Community in Greenville, Ohio.

She was born March 15, 1923 in Columbus, Ohio, daughter of the late John R. and Katherine (Lehr) Noel. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Paul M.Caris, whom she married on October 14, 1941; 2 brothers, Fred Noel and John Noel, Jr.; and a niece Kathy.

Charme was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and friend. She was a member of the EUM Church in Greenville.

She is survived by her 3 children, Stephen (Brigitte) Caris of Greenville, Paula (Robert) Hesson of Greenville, Robert (Debbie) Caris of Westerville, Ohio; grandchildren, Angela Jett, Stephanie Patterson, Sunni Jett, Gabriel Caris, Rebecca Hetzler, Charme Thongsavanh, Marcy Jett, Jason Caris, Kelly Caris,; 2 step-grandchildren, Stacey Pond, Sherri Robinson; 8 great grandchildren; and 3 step-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Steven A. Erwin, 43 of Greenville, Ohio passed away on Tuesday July 16, 2013 at 5:34 PM at Good Samaritan Hospital, Dayton, Ohio. He was born May 30, 1970 in Dayton, Ohio.

Gregory Grimes, 61, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away Monday, July 15, 2013 at his home.

He was born May 9, 1952, in Union City, Indiana, the son of Norma (Ford) Prater of Hollansburg, Ohio and the late Roll Grimes, Jr.

Greg had been a tennis pro.

Besides his mother, Norma (Ford) Prater, he is survived by two sons, Ilie and Ian Travis; his sisters Pamela (Timothy) Bevins, of Hollansburg, Ohio, and Teresa (Charles Loveman) Grimes of Pasadena, CA; and grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Clyde J. Boone age 78, of Greenville, Ohio and formerly of New Paris, Ohio passed away at 2:07 P.M. on Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at his residence. Clyde was born February 25, 1935 in Rocky Mount, Virginia to the late John Dempsey & Alice Moetta (King) Boone.

Robert L. Byram age 87, of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 9:40 P.M. on Thursday, July 11, 2013 at his residence due to his failing health. Robert was born September 13, 1925 in Darke County, Ohio to the late Frank & Treva (Puterbaugh) Byram.

Robert is survived by his devoted wife of 66 years, Jackie (Burke) Byram whom he married September 7, 1946; son & daughter-in-law, Michael & Vicki Byram of Greenville; grandchildren, Kathryn & Joe Weber, Andrew & Jessica Byram, Amanda & Jason Mote and Rob & Brandi Byram; great-grandchildren, Jack Weber, Lilly Weber, Lucie Weber, Alison Byram, Emily Byram, Nathan Byram, Kyler Mote, Kaden Mote, Kohen Mote, Kayaa Mote and Mikey Byram; and a brother & sister-in-law, E.J. & Jean Byram of Union City, Ohio.

In addition to his parents, Robert is also preceded in death by a son, Steve Byram on September 11, 1988; and a brother, Dwight Byram.

Robert served in the U.S. Army during WWII where he was a P.O.W. Robert was at the Battle of the Bulge and was captured at St. Vith, Belgium and was at Bad Orb until liberation. Robert Retired from Superior Implements in Greenville where he was a salesman for 45 years. He was a member of Coletown Congregational Christian Church, Greenville V.F.W., Greenville D.A.V. and the Greenville American Legion.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville with Pastor Eric Knight officiating. Richard F. Syrell Sr. (July 7, 2013)

Richard F. Syrell Sr., age 78 of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 12:02 P.M. Sunday July 7, 2013 in the emergency room of Wayne HealthCare Greenville, Ohio. He was born September 29, 1934 in Oswego, New York and the son of the late Frank and Carrie (Rock) Syrell.

Richard was retired from the Pines Pet Cemetery and Crematory of Lebanon, Ohio where he had work in the maintenance department.

He is survived by twin sons and a daughter in law Richard & Donna Syrell Jr. of Greenville and Roger Syrell of Macon, Georgia. Also a sister Ruth Ann Rock Syrell of California and numerous nieces and nephews.

Susan Midlam, 59, of New Madison, passed away on July 5, 2013 at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton. Susan was born on May 13, 1954 in Dayton, Ohio to the late Ralph and Edna (Saylor) Midlam.

Susan was a 1972 graduate of New Madison High School, a graduate of Ohio Northern University, and a 1983 graduate of Wright State University where she received her Masters in Education. She enjoyed reading and listening to Christian and classical music. Susan loved children and enjoyed working at Woodland Alters summer camps when she was younger. She had attended church at Cedar Grove Church of the Brethren since 1959 and was baptized into the church April 16, 1966. Susan was also involved in the Emmaus Community. She worked as a 3rd grade Math teacher at Tri Village Schools from August 1978 thru present.

In addition to her parents, Susan is preceded in death by a brother, John Midlam.

Susan is survived by her niece, Amy Midlam of Vandalia; great nieces, Ashlyn Marburger, Shelby Marburger and Kristen Marburger, and a great-great nephew, Colin Marburger.

A celebration of life service will be held on Thursday, July 11, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Cedar Grove Church of the Brethren with Rev. Tony Price officiating. Miss Elnora Lucille Miller (July 6, 2013)

Miss Elnora Lucille Miller, 91 of Greenville, Ohio passed away on Saturday July 6, 2013 at 6:03 AM at Heartland of Greenville. She was born October 27, 1921 in Adams Twp., Darke Co. the youngest daughter of late Adnah and Pearl (Mauer) Miller. She was a member of Oakland Church of the Brethren. She worked for 31 years at General Athletic Products and enjoyed the monthly socializing with the GAP Lunch Bunch. Past President and founder of the Gettysburg Alumni Association. She was an inactive member of local Iota Iota chapter and Past Ohio State President of Phi Beta Psi Sorority. She is well known for never forgetting a birthday or anniversary - she sent out dozens of cards each year to friends and family and received the same in return.

She is preceded in death by her brother, Forest Joy Miller and sisters, Grace DeWeese, Mabel and Ruth Miller.

She is survived by her nieces Phyllis (Robert) Cole, Donna Jean (Roland) Erisman and Shirley (Dan) Hollinger and nephew Forest Joe (Marge) Miller. Her numerous great nieces and great nephews include Susan (late Ron) Hohler, Alan (Pam) Cole, Mike (Beth) Cole, Jeff (Carol) Cole // Doug Erisman, Ed (Amy) Erisman, Eric (Mary Beth) Erisman, Chris (Felicia) Erisman, Karen (Joel) Avore, Cheryl (David) O'Connor // Lisa and Cathy Jo Miller. Betty Lucille Youst,87, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at Heartland of Greenville.

She was born February 17, 1926 in Greenville, Ohio, daughter of the late Pearla and Thelma (Poock) Aten. Married Feb, 1944 in Arcanum, Ohio to Paul Youst, Jr. who passed away on August 11, 1987. In addition to her husband, Paul, she was preceded in death two sons, Paul Henry and Charles Ronald Youst, a granddaughter, Tamara Baker Ware.

She is survived by two daughters, Darlene (Larry) McGuire of Greenville and Becky (Larry) Baker of Ansonia, daughter-in-law, Linda (Dick) Youst Blumestock, of Florida. Three grandsons Donnie (LuAnn) Brickler, Danny (Julie) and Chad Youst all of Greenville. Two granddaughters, Michelle (John) Hoehne of Houston and Kimberly (Scott) Kelly of Centerville, Ohio. Thirteen great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.

Services will be held at 12 p.m., Monday, July 8, 2013 at the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville with Chaplain Candy Null. Burial will follow in Abbottsville Cemetery.

Elmer H. Stuck (July 1, 2013)

Elmer H. Stuck age 96, of Versailles, Ohio passed away at 12:30 P.M. on Monday, July 1, 2013 at the Brethren Retirement Community in Greenville. Elmer was born February 14, 1917 in North Star, Ohio to the late Carl & Bertha (Rismiller) Stuck.

Elmer is survived by a son & daughter-in-law, George & Marcella Stuck of Versailles; daughter & son-in-law, Nancy & Rick Shepherd of Greenville; grandchildren, Angela R. & Mike Rosengarden, Aimee M. & Steve Hoelscher, Jeffery A. Stuck, Amanda N. & Kurt Bergman, Jennifer L. & Mike Masters, Matthew H. & Melanie Gibson, Jason L. & Kristi Gibson and Joshua R. Gibson; step grandchildren, Shelly & Doug Williams, Todd & Natasha Shepherd and Latavia Knipp; 22 great-grandchildren and 8 step great-grandchildren; brother & sister-in-law, Pastor John & Barbara Stuck of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Elmer is also preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Edith (Faulkner) Stuck on June 8, 1990 whom he married January 10, 1946 in Boston, Massachusetts; brothers, Pastor Werner Stuck and Harold J. Stuck; and sisters, Edith Brandt and Caroline Isenhouer.

Elmer retired from farming after 60 years; he enjoyed farming and was still active up to his death. Elmer formerly worked at Frigidaire in Dayton for 9 years. Elmer served in the U.S. Navy during WWII where he was a Pharmacist Mate. Elmer was a lifetime member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in North Star and the church choir; life member of the North Star American Legion Post 174; and life member of the Darke County Farm Bureau. Elmer enjoyed his family and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, July 5, 2013 at St. Paul Lutheran Church 13495 Greenville-St. Marys Rd. Versailles with Pastor Laura Shreffler officiating. Burial will follow in St. Paul Lutheran Church Cemetery with Military graveside services conducted by the North Star American Legion Post 174. The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 4, 2013 from 2:00 to 6:00 P.M. at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home in Versailles and Friday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 A.M. at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Darke County Cancer Association, State of the Heart Hospice or St. Paul Lutheran Church Building Fund. Wanda E. (Irvine) Ray (July 1, 2013)

Wanda E. (Irvine) Ray, 85, of Fountain City, Indiana passed away on July 1, 2013 at Reid Hospital in Richmond. Wanda was born on March 27, 1928 in New Madison, Ohio to the late Elmer and Mildred (Hill) Irvine.

Wanda worked for the Belden Company in Richmond for 43 years. She was a 1947 graduate of New Madison School. Wanda enjoyed gardening, quilting, and working in the orchard with her fruit trees. She was also known for being a great cook.

In addition to her parents, Wanda is preceded in death by her husband, J.D. Ray who passed away on December 2, 2006 and a sister, Treva Hofacker.

Wanda is survived by a step son, James D. Ray; two step grandsons; a step great granddaughter; two nieces; three nephews; special friends, Tom and Marilyn Delk and their children that Wanda considered her children, Jeff and Shari and grandchildren, Travis, Wyatt and Serena; and a brother, Gene and Evelyn Irvine.

A private service will be held at the convenience of the family with the Rev. Eric Fee officiating.

Robert H. Byrum (July 2, 2013)

Robert H. Byrum, 96, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away early Tuesday morning, July 2, 2013, at the Brethren Retirement Community in Greenville.

He was born December 25, 1916 in Darke County, Ohio, a son of the late Eli and Jennie (Stump) Byrum. In addition to his parents, he was in death by his 1st wife, Blanche (Crabbs) Byrum; 2nd wife, Ethel May (Fraze) Byrum; step daughter, Janet K. Baker; sister, Goldie Kuhlman.

Bob was retired from the Union City Body Company after working there 39 years. He was a member of the 1st United Methodist Church of Greenville, Greenville Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite of Dayton, York Rite of Darke County and the Shriners of Dayton.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy (Rudy) Byrum; a daughter, Carolyn (Owen) Beam of Union City, OH; a son, Larry (Alice) Byrum of The Villages, FL; step children, Martha Albright of Englewood, OH, Wayne E. Baker of Greenville, Greg (Darlene) Grubb of Greenville, Cinda (Tom) Deeter of New Madison, OH; 3 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren;3 great great grandchildren; 6 step grandchildren; 5 step great grandchildren.

Services with a Masonic Memorial Serivce and Scottish Rite Ring Service will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, July 5, 2013 at the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville with Rev. Gary Oser officiating. Burial will follow in Lisbon Cemetery near Union City.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, from 11 am to 1 p.m. The family request that memorial contributions be given to either the Shriners Children's Hospital or Charity of Donor's Choice.

Mabel I. Landis (June 30, 2013)

Mabel I. Landis, 83 of Lewisburg, Ohio passed away on Sunday June 30, 2013 at 12:46 PM as the result of an automobile accident. She was born January 19, 1930 in Miami County, Ohio the daughter of the late Ota Ray & Sarah Elizabeth (Heckman) White. She worked at Fram Corp General Film; and as a scrap metal recycler. She was a member of the Druids Lodge of Richmond, Indiana; the women of the Eagles; Ladies of the Moose; and the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.

She is preceded in death by her parents; great grandson: Zachary Harrison Baker; 4 brothers & 1 sister.

She is survived by her children & spouses: Tom Landis of Crestline, California, Steve & Cindy Landis of Greenville, Janice Pittsenbarger of Greenville, Don & Janie Landis of Versailles, Elaine & Charles Harrison of Laura, Ohio, Mike E. Landis of Union City, Indiana; 13 grandchildren; 51 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; sister: Thelma Pittman of Piqua; Loving Companion: Marshall “Jim” Stikeleather and his family.

Services will be held on Saturday July 6, 2013 at 10:00 AM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio with Pastor Terry Campbell officiating. Richard L. Puterbaugh (June 30, 2013)

Richard L. Puterbaugh, 66, of Greenville, passed away Sunday morning, June 30, 2013, at his residence.

He was born May 18, 1947 in Miami County.

Leon was retired from Baylor Trucking, having driven for them for over 20 years. He was an avid collector of artifacts and enjoyed going to shows and showing what he had collected. He was a member of the Ohio and Indiana Archaeological Societies, and the NRA.

He is survived by his wife of many years, Mary (DeFord) Puterbaugh; children, Leann Puterbaugh and Richard L. Puterbaugh, Jr.; and a sister, Cindy Hilliard.

There will be no services.

The family requests that memorial contributions be given to State of the Heart Hospice.

Vernon Eugene Chambers (June 28, 2013)

Vernon Eugene Chambers, 80, of New Madison, OH, passed away Friday evening, June 28, 2013, at the Reid Hospital in Richmond, IN.

He was born December 2, 1932 in Preble County, OH, son of the late Harry and Bertha (Shaffer) Chambers.

On December 7, 1956, he married the love of his life, Evelyn Irene Neal. His wife of 56 years survives along with two daughters, Deborah (Debbie) and husband Steve Green of Tipp City, OH, and Kimberly (Kim) and husband Brad Berner of Greenville, OH; four grandchildren, Lance and Kami Berner, Michelle and Michael Green; two step grandchildren, Nicole Green Prusak and Scott Green; three step great grandchildren, Alexis and Tessa Prusak, and Harper Green; a brother, Richard (Dick) Chambers of New Madison, OH; three sisters, Mabel (Harry) Schweizer of Richmond, IN, Wanda (Jerry) Butt of Sebring, FL, and Nina (Dale) Royer of New Paris, OH; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Vernon was preceded in death by two sisters, Susan Jay and Dorothy Murphy.

Vernon retired from Humidaire Incubator Company in New Madison. He also had worked at Flaig Lumber, Lewisburg Container, and part owner of a garage in Pitsburg, OH. He was a veteran of the US Army from 1953-1954 having served in the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Abbottsville United Methodist Church.

Services will be held at 4:30 p.m., Wednesday, July 3, at the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville with Pastor Chris Harris officiating. Burial with full military honors by the Greenville Veterans Honor Guard will follow in the Greenville Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, from 5-7 p.m. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to either the Abbottsville United Methodist Church or the charity of the donor's choice.
