James Brandon “Jim Bob” Lennon (February 24, 2017)

James Brandon “Jim Bob” Lennon age 33, of Versailles passed away at 8:16 PM on Friday, February 24, 2017. James was born July 1, 1983, in Sidney to Ed & Chris (Smith) Lennon of Versailles.

In addition to his parents, James is also survived by his son, Chase Lennon of Versailles; sister, Cori Lennon & Paul Monnin of Versailles; nieces, Deanna Day and Alyssa Monnin; and aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

James was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bill & Irene Smith (Ft. Loramie) and Edna Lennon; and cousin, Joshua Francis.

James worked at Trophy Nut Company in Tipp City.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, March 1, 2017, at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home in Versailles. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery in Versailles. Wanda Lee (Prasuhn) Rismiller (February 25, 2017)

Wanda Lee (Prasuhn) Rismiller, age 87 of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 9:53 AM Saturday February 25, 2017 at the Rest Haven Nursing Home of Greenville. Wanda was born to the late William and Nellie (Davidson) Prasuhn on June 22, 1929 in Piqua Ohio.

Wanda was a graduate of Greenville High School class of 1947. After graduation she worked at Hobarts in Greenville as a secretary. She married Dale Edward Rismiller on November 20, 1948 at St. John Lutheran Church in Greenville. She served as secretary for husband Dale’s construction company and also did finish work for many years in the homes that he built.

Wanda was very active in the community, serving on many boards and committees. She was an active member of the Cancer Association of Darke County, Honorary board member of the YMCA, a supporter of Friends of the Library, the Garst Museum and DCCA. She was also an active member of St. John Lutheran Church, the garden club, worked at the election polls for over twenty-five years, supported and participated in her children’s activities. She enjoyed playing cards and belonged to several card clubs. She and husband Dale loved to travel and, as members of Friendship Force, visited many countries and made many friends.

Wanda was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Dale Edward Rismiller and also by her siblings Doris Finn, Dale Prasuhn, Henry Prasuhn, Phyllis VonNagy and Janet Steen.

She is survived by daughters Carol G. Bruss of Greenville, Peggy D. Rismiller (Mike McKelvey) of Kangaroo Island, South Australia, Joyce A. Willhite (Mike) of Bowling Green, OH and son Edwin Dale Rismiller (Lisa) of Galveston, TX. She was a loving grandmother to Douglas Doster, Suzanne Rismiller, Sara Rismiller, and Marina Rismiller and great-grandmother to Jackson Doster and Lucas Doster. Wanda is also survived by her sisters June Strobel of Greenville, Linna Peters of Greenville, North Carolina and brother-in-law Wayne Rismiller (Lori) of Pompano Beach, FL.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday March 1, 2017 in the St. John Lutheran Church 7418 State Route 121-N. Greenville, Ohio with Pastor Brian McGee officiating. Burial will follow in the St. John Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday 1 hour prior to the services in the church.

It is the wishes of the family that Memorial Contributions be given to St. John Lutheran Church or State of the Heart Hospice of Darke County.

James D. Harry, 65 of Greenville, Ohio passed away on Friday February 24, 2017 at 7:04 AM at his residence. He was born November 21, 1951 in Darke County, Ohio the son of the late James H. & Dorletta (Fansler) Harry. He served his country in the United States Navy and worked for 13 years at Ansonia Lumber in sales & design retiring in 2009. He also had various other jobs in Ohio and Florida.

He was a member of Christion and Missionary Alliance Church.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife Jennifer (Marshal) Harry of Greenville; his daughters & sons in law: Jamie D. & Brian Main of Greenville, & Julie D. & Ben Sonner of Westminster, CO; grandchildren: Stella, Charlie, & Josie Sonner of Westminster, CO; sisters: Hope Lephart of Lakeworth, Florida, Zella Zabaur of St. Petersburg, Florida, Emily Brose of St. Petersburg, Florida; brother & sister in law: Dan & Nette Harry of Bradenton, Florida; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and family.

Services will be held on Tuesday February 28, 2017 at 10:30 AM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio with Pastor Shawn Harrison and Pastor Doug Klinsing officiating. Burial will follow in Greenville Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday at the funeral home. Steven Terry Paul (February 14, 2017)

Steven Terry Paul, 62 of Greenville, Ohio passed away on Tuesday February 14, 2017 at 5:20 PM at the Covington Care Center, Covington, Ohio. He was born April 22, 1954 in Greenville, Ohio the son of the late Byron & Maxine (Harter) Paul. He served in the United States Marine Corp in Vietnam. He worked as a carpenter.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his brother: Craig Ricky Paul

He is survived by his wife Lisa (Deeter) Paul of Greenville his children: Cody Paul, Christopher Paul, Summer Paul, & Krystal Barber; grandchildren: Kyleiga Paul, Stella Rae Paul, Piper Myers, Harmony Myers, Blake Abernathy, Addison Barber, & Ryleiga Barber.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday March 2, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio with Rev. Rozie Colvin officiating. Burial will be in Dayton National Cemetery at a later date. Veteran’s services will be conducted by the Greenville Veterans Honor Guard on Thursday at the funeral home.

Dorvan L. Phlipot (February 23, 2017)

Dorvan L. Phlipot age 90, of Versailles passed away at 4:40 PM on Thursday, February 23, 2017, at Versailles Health Care Center. Dorvan was born October 26, 1926, in Shelby County to the late Louis & Estella (Dapore) Phlipot.

Dorvan is survived by his sons & daughters-in-law, Ron & Kathy Phlipot of Mardela Springs, Maryland, Ken & Angie Phlipot of Versailles and Gary & Gretta Phlipot of Versailles; daughter-in-law, Bonnie Phlipot of Versailles; 14 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; sisters & brother-in-law, Joan & Earl Grilliot of Versailles and Pat Borchers of Versailles; sister-in-law, Naomi Phlipot of Versailles; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Dorvan was also preceded in death by his wife, Martha H. (Larger) Phlipot on October 10, 2011 whom he married October 16, 1948; son, Michael Phlipot; a great-grandchild in infancy; brother, Jerome Phlipot; sister, Mary Monnin; step brothers, Lloyd and Forrest Phlipot; and brother-in-law, Jim Borchers.

Dorvan worked at Miller-Meteor in Piqua, Cadillac Gage in Greenville and retired from Wayne Trail Tool & Die in Ft. Loramie. He was a member of St. Denis Catholic Church in Versailles and a life member of the Versailles Knights of Columbus.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, February 27, 2017, at St. Denis Catholic Church in Versailles with Rev. Fr. Jim Simons celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Valbert Cemetery in Versailles. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2:00 to 6:00 PM and Monday morning from 9:00 to 10:00 AM at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home in Versailles. Harold Thomas Dill (February 21, 2017)

Harold Thomas Dill, 93, of Hollansburg, OH, passed away, Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at home surrounded by his family.

Harold was born Friday, January 4, 1924 in Palestine, OH, a son of the late Omar and Dora (Harter)Dill.

In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by an infant son, brothers, Leroy and Donald Dill and sisters, Helen Feasel and Phyllis Spencer.

Harold served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He attended the Hollansburg Christian Church, was a member of the American Legion in Hollansburg and enjoyed going to family sporting events. Harold retired after thirty years from Wayne Works in Richmond, IN.

Harold is survived by his wife of 74 years, Eileen (Thomas) Dill, whom he married Sunday, September 20, 1942; his children, Carolyn Eubank of Hollansburg, Jacquelyn and Steve Brewer of Lynn, IN,, Brenda and Robert Carr of Hollansburg, Deborah and Terry Jenkins of Richmond, IN., Tom and Sue Dill of Hollansburg, and Theresa and Richard Graham of Greenville; 17 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; two brothers, Lowell Dill of Greenville, and Robert Dill of Hollansburg; a sister, Anna Bowen of Richmond. IN., and numerous nieces and nephews.


A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, February, 24, 2017 at the Hollansburg Christian Church in Hollansburg with Pastor Joe Hanna officiating. Burial will follow in Hollansburg Cemetery.

Family and friends may visit Friday, February 24, 2017 from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm at the Hollansburg Christian Church.

Jean D. (Wolfe) Grosch, 79 of Versailles, Ohio passed away on Wednesday February 22, 2017 at 2:15 AM at Rest Haven Nursing Home, Greenville, Ohio. She was born December 27, 1937 in Versailles, Ohio the daughter of the late Wayne & Velma (Kimmel) Wolfe. She worked at General Athletics in Greenville.

She was a member of Ansonia First Church of God; and the Darke County Dulcimer Club.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her husband: Lon Grosch of Versailles; brothers: William “Bill” Wolfe of Greenville, Ronnie Joe Wolfe of Union City, Ohio, Terry Wolfe of Greenville; brothers in law & sister in law: Merlin Grosch of Arcanum, Arthur Grosch of St. Louis, Erma Hocker of Greenville, & Evelyn Grosch of Greenville; numerous nieces, nephews, & cousins.

Services will be held on Monday February 27, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio with Pastor Derek Specht officiating. Burial will follow in Brock Cemetery. William Edward Hole Jr. (February 18, 2017)

William Edward Hole Jr., age 89 of Greenville, Ohio and son of William Edward and Dorothy (Coppock) Hole passed away at 10:35 AM Saturday February 18, 2017 at the Village Green. He was born July 2, 1927 in Greenville, Ohio.

Bill was a graduate of Greenville High School, Culver Military Academy, and the University of Michigan. After serving in the U.S. Army Air Corps during W.W. II he taught sailing at Culver before entering the University of Michigan. He was a member of the Tau Beta Pi honorary engineering society. Bill was an integral part of American Aggregates from 1951, becoming a Director in 1956, Vice President in 1964 and President of the Corporation in 1969. He also served as President of Ohio Aggregates and as National President of National Sand Stone and Gravel where he was also a Lifetime member of the Board. He also served on the Board of Consolidated Gold Fields in England. He served on the Board of Greenville National Bank for 35 years with 21 years as Chairman of the Board.

Bill was Chairman of the Ohio Chamber of Commerce in 1983 and a lifetime member of that Board. He had previously served as President of the Greenville Chamber of Commerce.

He was Chairman of the Building Committee of the Darke County Y.M.C.A. and was the first President of that Board. He had served a number of terms on the Y. board.

He served two terms as President of the Greenville Country Club and on that Board several different times.

He was a past member and on the board of Edison College, Hope Foundation, Garst Museum, Citizens Education Committee and was Vice-President of the Ohio Manufacturer’s Association.
He was a lifetime member of the Greenville Elks Lodge. He managed the Coppock-Hole Trust for many years.

Bill was a faithful member of the First Congregational Church of Greenville, where he taught Sunday school for 23 years sang in the Senior Choir and served on numerous committees including two Pastoral Search Committees.

He was honored to deliver the commencement address to a graduating class of Greenville High School.

After retirement Bill and Gloria enjoyed world travel, Bridge, golf, friends, family and most of all their summer place in Canada.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years Gloria (Shiverdecker) Hole, son William Jeffrey, daughter Julie Ann Kirk and husband Wilson, and grandsons Griffin and McGregor, of whom he was very proud. He also leaves two sisters, Susan Brewer and Barbara Brewer and in-laws Walter I. Thieme and Marcia Glenn. Also many loving nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister Jean Louise Thieme and in-laws Phyllis and Jim Blocher, Pauline Shiverdecker DeWitte and husband John, Dale Shiverdecker, Leon and Helen Shiverdecker, Lt. Commander Kent Shiverdecker, William D. Brewer and Richard Brewer.

Bill’s nature was that he saw something good in every person he knew.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday February 25, 2017 in the First Congregational Christian Church 115 West Fifth Street Greenville, Ohio with Pastors Don Myers, Peter Menke and Japheth Bear officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenville Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday February 24, 2017 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM in the Zechar Bailey Funeral Home Greenville, Ohio and on Saturday from 1:00 PM until time of the services in the church.

Zachary Robert Kelch (February 18, 2017)

Zachary Robert Kelch age 16, of North Star, Ohio passed away at 2:55 A.M. on Saturday, February 18, 2017, in Russia, Ohio. Zachary was born June 22, 2000, in Troy, Ohio to Lance & Tracey Kelch of North Star and Paula (Miller) & Greg Scott of Versailles.

In addition to his parents, Zachary is also survived by his siblings, Morgan Kelch, Karl Kelch and Madilyn Kelch; step-siblings, Amber Dross of Bradford, Allison Dross of Covington and Chad Dross of North Star; maternal grandparents, Bob & Mary Miller of Versailles; paternal grandfather, Julius Hierholzer of St. Henry; good friend, Sarah Kremer; and numerous aunts, uncles cousins and friends.

Zachary was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Valbert Kelch; and paternal grandmother, Betty Hierholzer.

Zachary was a junior at Versailles High School. He was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church in North Star and was active in the CCD Program. Zachary was also a member of the Versailles FFA and was a farm hand. He enjoyed canoeing, skiing and hanging out with his friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday, February 22, 2017, at St. Louis Catholic Church in North Star with Rev. Fr. David L. Zink celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Louis Cemetery in North Star. Thelma M. (Schrader) Schultz (February 17, 2017)

Thelma M. (Schrader) Schultz age 89, of Versailles, Ohio passed away at 4:30 PM on Friday, February 17, 2017, at Village Green Healthcare Center in Greenville. Thelma was born December 30, 1927, in Darke County to the late Ray W. & Grace (Dickey) Schrader.

Thelma is survived by her husband of 68 years, Harold Schultz whom she married October 23, 1948; sons & daughters-in-law, Eldon & Karen Schultz of Versailles, Ohio and Marvin & Elaine Schultz of Fishers, Indiana; daughter & son-in-law, Bonnie & Danny Kinser of Wellington, Ohio; grandchildren, Eric & Beth Schultz, Heidi & Gene Conley, Angie & Kevin Lyme, Rebecca & Kevin Needham, Robin & Brian Gierse and Brian & Tisha Schultz; great-grandchildren, Logan , Lindsay & Levi Schultz, Tammicka Crome, Tieara Gant, Jessica Lyme, Hunter & Austin Needham, Caleb & Ethan Gierse and Mara Schultz; sister-in-law, Diane Schrader of Versailles, Ohio; brother-in-law, Hubert Fellers of Greenville, Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Thelma was also preceded in death by a son, David Schultz; brothers, Robert & Carl “Hoppy” Schrader; and a sister, Lucille Fellers.

Thelma was a homemaker and helped her husband farm. She formerly worked at the Egg Auction and Wirrig Appliances in Versailles. Thelma was a very active and lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Versailles. She was a Girl Scout Leader for many years and Treasurer of the Versailles Band Boosters for 5 years.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, February 21, 2017, at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home in Versailles with Rev. Robert Akins and Rev. Bonnie Gerber officiating. Michael D. Gallagher (February 16, 2017)

Michael D. Gallagher, age 78, of Bradford, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, February 16, 2017 at 12:35 PM at Heartland of Greenville. He was born on December 31, 1938 in Dayton, Ohio, to the late Charles E. & Annabell R. (Hunt) Gallagher IV.

He is survived by his children, Maureen Suttman of Union, Ohio, Tisha (Richard) Lalley of Cincinnati, Ohio, Sean (Dianne) Gallagher of Dayton, Ohio, and Christian Pass of Arcanum, Ohio; grandchildren, Ben Suttman, Dakota Suttman, Megan Lalley, Zoey Pass and Chloe Hartley; great granddaughter, Lucy White; and brother, Virgil (Shirley) Gallagher of West Milton, Ohio.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Sherry Kay (Altenberger) Pass-Gallagher.

Michael was a member of the National Guard and St. Paul Episcopal Church in Greenville. He retired in 1995 from General Motors after 32 years of service. He loved woodworking, racing cars and was an Eagle Scout.

There will be a memorial service held on Monday, February 20, 2017 at 7:00 PM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio, with Deanna Long officiating. Family will receive friends on Monday from 5:00 PM until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Marc D. Bright (February 15, 2017)

Marc D. Bright age 47, of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 12:20 P.M. on Wednesday, February 15, 2017, at his residence. Marc was born February 15, 1970, in Dayton, Ohio to Mollie M. (Patterson) Bright of Greenville and the late Gary K. Bright.

Marc is also survived by his sons, Joseph D. Bright of Winchester, Indiana and Jesse Bright of Palestine; daughter, Aurora Bright of Eaton; grandson, Kenton Bright; brother & sister-in-law, Joseph K. & Erin Bright of Greenville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Marc served in the U.S. Navy.

Elsie Miller (February 3, 2017)

Elsie Miller of Greenville, Ohio passed away on Friday, February 3, 2017, at age 95 at Rest Haven. She is survived by her son, Gordon; daughter, Carol (Robert) Meigs; 4 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, brother-in-law, Otho (Phyllis) Miller and nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Glen; daughter, Brenda; her parents, Florence and J. Irvin Apple; brothers, Richard and Ralph Apple; and sister, Treva Arnold. Elsie was a homemaker, partner on her and Glen’s farm (where they provided many memorable vacations for their grandchildren), quilter and community volunteer. She and Glen were members of the Oakland Church of the Brethren.

Elsie’s family is grateful for the care she received at Rest Haven and for all the prayers and visits from friends and family while she resided there.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 18 at 10:00 am at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home in Versailles to share memories of Elsie. Her service will follow at 11:00 am and burial will be at the Greenlawn Cemetery in Versailles following the service.

Tommy D. Edwards age 77, of Celina and formerly of Ansonia, passed away at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, February 13, 2017, in Osgood, Ohio. Tommy was born June 10, 1939, in Greenville, Ohio to the late Raymond E. & Mildred V. (Marshall) Edwards.

Tommy is survived by his children, Dale T. Edwards of Greenville, David L. & Stephanie Edwards of Conyers, Georgia, Daniel R. Edwards of New Bremen and Denise A. & Ralph Hurd Jr. of Greenville; grandchildren, Christine Ross, Stay-c & Brittany Edwards-Reese, Brittany Edwards & fiancé, Dustin Hartzell, Joshua Edwards, Zachary Edwards, Leslie Hurd, Christopher Hurd and Jarrett Hurd; 9 great-grandchildren; sisters & brother-in-law, Beverly Holsapple of Versailles and Shelba & Ron Brown of Oklahoma; brothers & sisters-in-law, Jack Edwards of Ansonia, Dean & Mary Jane Edwards of Ansonia, Ron & Marianna Edwards of Bradford and Bill & Regina Edwards of Beamsville; brother-in-law, John Marshal of North Star; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Tommy was also preceded in death by a sister, Connie Marshal; brother, John Edwards; and a brother-in-law, Sam Holsapple.

Tommy retired from Weaver Brothers in Versailles where he was a truck driver for 33 years. Tommy was a member of the Celina Moose.

Marjorie L. Strait (February 13, 2017)

Marjorie L. Strait, age 82, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away at 5:50 AM Monday February 13, 2017 at The Brethren’s Retirement Community. Marjorie was born February 2, 1935 in Greenville, Ohio, to the late Charles A. & Mabel C. (Mann) Sharp. She was a 1953 graduate of Greenville High School. She retired from Fram Corporation in 1998.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her daughter, Melesa Westfall, brothers, Wayne (Betty) Sharp, Max, George, and Adrian Sharp, brother-in-law, Robert Thompson.

Sister, JoAnn Thompson of Greenville, three brothers, Jack (Joanne) Sharp, Gerald (Arlene) Sharp both of Greenville, and Larry (Patty) Sharp of Lancaster, OH. Sister-in-law, Judy Sharp of Rock Hill, SC. Aunt, Mary Alice Redman of Greenville, OH. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday February 16, 2017 at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville with Pastor Jeff Harper officiating. Burial will follow in Greenville Cemetery. Irma Lee Whittington (February 10, 2017)

Irma Lee Whittington, age 91, of Versailles, OH, passed away, Friday, February 10, 2017 at Versailles Health Care.

She was born Wednesday, October 28, 1925 in Darke County, OH, a daughter of the late William and Delpha (Norris) McClannan.

In addition to her parents, Irma was preceded in death by her husband Clyde G. Whittington on May 3, 2003, 5 siblings, Harold McClannan, Oleta Kerns, Naomi Sheets, Ilene Coons, and Estella Ford; and one great-great grandson Daniel Lee Whittington, Jr.

Irma was a long time member of St. John Lutheran Church in Greenville. During her and Clyde's marriage, they enjoyed camping, boating, dancing, playing cards and spending time with family and friends. Most of her career was spent as an LPN working in geriatric care. She was a caring woman and strong in her faith.

Irma is survived by her three children, Greg (Leanna) Whittington of Bradford, OH, Dane (Jackie) Whittington of Westminster, CO, and Christine (Bill) Beasley of Versailles, OH; eight grandchildren, Doug (Amy) Whittington, Darin (Carey) Whittington, John (Karen) Whittington, Jess Whittington, Jeni (Ted) Austin, Jordan (Jenny) Whittington, Nick (Lisa) Beasley, and Lori (Jeff) Zirkle; 25 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren. Irma is also survived by her sister Annabelle Gibbons of West Carollton, OH; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Brian Scott Peters, age 34, of Greenville, OH, passed away, Thursday, February 9, 2017 at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, OH.

He was born Thursday, July 22, 1982 in Greenville, OH, a son of Beni (Penny) Peters and the late Linda Stebbins.

In addition to his mother, Brian was preceded in death by his brother, Jesse Lee Peters, maternal grandparents, Lee and Dolly Stebbins and his paternal grandparents, Ralph and Beatrice Peters.

Brian loved his children; they were the light of his life. He was an outdoors man who enjoyed camping, fishing, and four wheeling. He had many friends and enjoyed spending time with them. Brian loved his family and missed his mother and his brother, Jesse, dearly.

In addition to his father, Brian is survived by two children, Braxton and Kallee Peters of Greenville, OH; his fiancé, Jessica Emrick; two step sisters, Beth (Eric) Schultz of Versailles, OH and Lauren Ford of Ridgeville, IN; aunts and uncles, Carol (Jon) Bentley of Wabash, IN, Candy (Andy) Hoover of Greenville, OH, Diana (Rick) Hess of Greenville, OH, Sheila (Lester) Yoder, Tim (Terri) Stebbins, Edie Shuff, Marilyn Petty, and Lisa Stebbins all of Greenville, OH.; and numerous cousins, great aunts, great uncles, step niece and nephews and friends.

Hobert C. Burton age 81, of New Madison, Ohio, passed away at 10:10 A.M. on Thursday, February 9, 2017, at Upper Valley Medical Center in Troy. Hobert was born July 9, 1935 in Lincoln County, Kentucky, to the late Elva & Lula (McNeese) Burton.

Hobert is survived by his wife, JoAnn M. (Rodgers) Burton whom he married June 26, 1954; children, Lois Wendel of New Weston, David Burton of New Madison, Danny Burton of Greenville, Alan & Vickie Burton of Greenville, Christopher & Cindy Burton of Greenville and Gregory Burton of West Milton; 15 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; sisters, Helen Burgess of Kentucky and Eileen Miller of Indiana; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Hobert was also preceded in death by a son, Elva Joe Burton; brothers, Leon, Charles & Delbert Burton; and sister; Dorothy Burgess.

Hobert was a farmer. He was a member of The New Beginning Church of God in Greenville.

She is survived by her sons and daughters in law, Craig & Cindy McGuire of Greenville, Dale & Linda McGuire of Greenville, Gene & Carolyn McGuire of Greenville and Larry McGuire of Greenville; step sons, Walter (Vena) Hickey Jr., Larry Hickey and Danny (Kim) Hickey; step daughter, Norma (James) Durham of Williamsburg, KY; 7 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; numerous great great grandchildren; siblings, Lorene Stewart of Greenville, Carol (Earl) Parks of Iowa, Pauline Downing of Dayton, OH, Geraldine Millington of Richmond, IN, Bonnie Lou Cook of Richmond, IN, and Kathy Williams of Washington; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her first husband, Ermel McGuire; second husband, Walter Hickey; siblings, Roger Hayes, Rena May Hayes, Gene Hayes, Rodney Hayes, Otis Ray Hayes, Juanita Reynolds, Temple Emerick and Helen Moore; and step daughter, Sidney E. Sabastian.

Lucille was a Nurses Aid most of her life where she worked at Wayne HealthCare and Good Samaritan Hospital. She also worked for Fram for a short time and was a member of Spring Creek Baptist Church in Piqua.

There will be a service held on Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at 2:30 PM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio, with Pastor Fred Peterson officiating. Helen was born Sunday, August 16, 1925 in Bradford, OH, a daughter of the late Don and Opal (Rolfe) Rexrode.

In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Wesley Albert "AL" Brinley and her granddaughter, Kimberly Brinley.

Helen is survived by her sons, Don Brinley of Grove City, Ohio and Jeffry Brinley of New Port Richey, FL; a daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Patrick Coleman of Dayton; a sister, Patricia Arnett of Celina. She was blessed with 10 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

Steven Ellsworth Cunningham, age 58, of Union City, OH, and formerly of Rossburg, passed away, Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at his home.

Steven was born Monday, January 26, 1959 in Piqua, OH, a son of the late Athern and Bettie (Higgs) Cunningham.

In addition to his parents, Steven was preceded in death by his sister, Cindra Fleenor.

Steven was a past member of the Darke County and Ohio Cattleman's Association. He was a 4-H advisor for the Darke County Beef Club and was a past member and honorary member of the Ansonia FFA. He and His wife, Larissa volunteered their time at Hueston Woods maintaining the horse trails. He enjoyed horseback riding and camping with his family and friends

Steven is survived by his wife of 22 years Larissa Cunningham of Union City, whom he married Saturday, February 12, 1994; sons, Doug Cunningham of Union City, OH. Scott Cunningham of Lakeview, OH and Rob Castle of Greenville; daughters and sons-in-law, Heather and Douglas Jones of New Weston and Chelsea and Loy Newton of Troy; grandchildren, Shianne Liddy, Skyler Marker, Austin Cunningham, Logan Hines, Taylor Cunningham, Conner Newton, Keanan Cunningham, Lexie Osterloh, Marissa Newton, Kali Jones, and Lona Newton; sister and brother-in-law, Deb and Pat Barga of Greenville; numerous nieces and nephews.

Christopher Lee Rogers

Christopher Lee Rogers, age 40, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away in Greenville, Ohio. He was born on July 24, 1976 in Dayton, Ohio, to Debra Grice of Greenville.

In addition to his mother he is survived by his wife Blair (Denney) Rogers of Greenville, Ohio, whom he married on April 16, 2003; children, Hanna Denney, Mia Rogers, Christopher Rogers Jr. and Benjamin Rogers all of Greenville; and brother, Michael Rogers of Tennessee.

Chris enjoyed skating, fishing and having fun. He worked at Fram and was a member of the United States Navy.

There will be a service held on Monday, February 13, 2017 at 6:00 PM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio, with Rev. Sam Shilot officiating. A full military service will be conducted by the Greenville Veterans Honor Guard. Family will receive friends on Monday from 3:00 PM until the time of the service.

Joan Crissinger (February 7, 2017)

Joan Crissinger, age 69 of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 2:35 PM Tuesday February 7, 2017 at Brookdale Clare Bridge Greenville, Ohio. Joan was born December 20, 1947 in Darke County, Ohio and the daughter of the late Robert and Pearl (Sullenbarger) Mowery.

She retired in 2009 from Fram Corporation of Greenville and was a longtime loyal employee. After her retirement from Fram, she worked at Tri-Village School as a Sub in the Cafeteria. She enjoyed her monthly Fram Retirees functions and was a member of the Darke County Humane Society Exercise group of Greenville.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother Ted Mower.

Joan is survived by her husband Richard E. Crissinger of Greenville. They were married July 19, 1969. Also her children Holly Jo (Tim) Long of Englewood, Ohio and Lance A. (Tish) Crissinger of Burlington, NC; grandchildren Danielle, Kiersten and Zachary Crissinger and Noah Long; great grandchildren Reegan and Mason Shoffstall and Annalisa Johnson; sister Marilyn June Miller of Greenville; brothers Tom (Shirley) Mowery and Mike Mowery all of Greenville; sister in law Barbara Mowery of Greenville; Dorothy Fullerton of Greenville who was like her second mother; best friend Janet Sargent of Dallas, Texas; two very loyal friends and co-workers Nancy Moody and Debbie Hammontree as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday February 11, 2017 in the Zechar Bailey Funeral Home Greenville, Ohio with Pastor Gary Oser officiating. Kathryn Fay Meyers, 75, of the Village Green in Greenville, Ohio, joined Jesus in Heaven on the morning of February 7, 2017. Fay, formerly of Palestine, Ohio, was born November 3, 1941 to the late Ralph and Louie Margaret Ellen (Wright) Snyder.

Fay worked in the accounts payable department at Wayne Corporation in Richmond, Ind. for over twenty years. She later worked for Neff Lettering Company and K-Mart in Greenville. She was a devoted member of Northside Community Fellowship Church. She enjoyed crocheting, collecting marbles, and putting together puzzles with her good friend, Catherine.

Fay is survived by her only daughter, Yvonne Gail (Anthony) Ulman of Ansonia; two granddaughters, Amanda Fay (Aaron) Olson of Greenville and Brittany Jo Ulman of Ansonia; and one great-grandson, Levi Gideon Olson. She is also survived by her siblings, Joan Abner of Palestine, Gene (Ellen) Snyder of Greenville, Barbara Mowery of Greenville, Sue Kreitzer of Palestine; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sister, Alice Kay Runner; brother, Jerry Snyder; brothers-in-law, Bill Abner, Ted Mowery, Ben Kreitzer, and David Runner; and sister-in-law, Marge Snyder.

Linda L. Brandt, age 74, of Versailles, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at 10:01 AM at Wayne HealthCare, Greenville, Ohio. She was born on December 1, 1942 Winchester, Indiana, to the late Clifford & Rose (Holcomb) Tolbert.

Linda is survived by her husband of 50 years, James “Jim” Brandt of Versailles, Ohio, whom she married on December 17, 1966; children, Timothy & Amy Brandt of Versailles, Tony & Dawn Brandt of Versailles and Angela & Don Schlarman of Coldwater; grandchildren that she absolutely adored and loved them so, Joe Brandt and fiancé Christine Wuebker, Josie (Prueter) & Russell Wulber, Allie Prueter, Matthew Prueter, Adam Brandt, Allison Brandt, Taylor Brandt and boyfriend Tyler Kiefer, Ashlyn Brandt and boyfriend Carter Bensman and Logan J. Schlarman; great grandchildren, Averie Schwartz and Abel Schwartz; siblings, Cliff & Betty Tolbert of Winchester, Martin Tolbert of Indianapolis, Charles Tolbert of Muncie; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her great grandchild, Aerian Joseph Michael Brandt; siblings, John & Donnie Tolbert.

While working at Westing House in Union City she met the love of her life and her and James Brandt got married on December 17, 1966 in Winchester, Indiana. The couple just recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Linda was great at everything she did. She enjoyed her family and the grandkids she adored. Everyone wanted to be around her as much as possible cause she made you laugh and offered the best advice. Linda has been failing in health the past couple years but this time the Lord wanted her and it was not in our control anymore. She had fought through what most people would have never survived. She is a true champion and will continue to be our champion forever. Linda enjoyed working outside as much as she could but since health declined she loved to watch Judge Judy and daytime soap operas. She also loved gambling and was loved by all.

There will be a service held on Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at 10:30 AM at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home, Versailles, Ohio, with Pastor Nick Dimmick officiating. Burial will follow in Brock Cemetery, Brock, Ohio. Family will receive friends on Monday, February 13, 2017 from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.

She was a homemaker and had been employed at Sink Jewelry Store of Arcanum.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister Judy Mahaffy.

Sharon is survived by her husband Paul L. Johnson of Greenville. They were married April 25, 1965. Also a daughter JaNelle (Steve) Gilliland of Pitsburg; son Jeremiah (Tammy Zuelgelder) Johnson of Brookville; grandchildren Kody Johnson, Kayla Gilliland, Chancellor Gilliland, Zachary Gilliland, Xavier Gilliland, AvaRuby Gilliland and Elijah Gilliland; brothers Roland (Ruth) Mahaffy of Greenville and Bill Mahaffy of Arcanum; sister Effie (Forest) Myers of Greenville and numerous nieces and nephews.

Robert served his country honorably in the U.S. Air Force during WWII. He was a member of the American Legion in Ansonia and a member of the National Elevator Industry Union. He retired from Gem City Elevator in Dayton, OH and farmed for many years.

Robert is survived by his daughter, Kathryn Fleming (Dale Mangen), Greenville; grandchildren, Angela and Thom Spurlock of Greenville and Adam and Jescinda Dority of Florida; great grandchildren. Michael W. Johnson Jr. and Zachary Baker; several nieces and nephews; and his caregivers, Wendy Smith, Michelle, Kimberly and Jessica.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at Oliver Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville with Dr. Rev. John M. Person officiating. Burial will follow in Old Teegarden Cemetery.

Ruby F. Singer, 93, of New Weston, OH, passed away, Sunday, February 5, 2017 at Briarwood Village in Coldwater, Ohio.

Ruby was born Monday, October 15, 1923 in Bradford, OH, a daughter of the late Alfred and Mabel (Joseph) Sanders.

In addition to her parents, Ruby was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Singer, a grandson, Jerry R. Singer, Jr., daughter-in-law, Candi Singer, brothers, John, Mel, Keith "Junior", and Arlington "Doc" Sanders and Wayne Bonifield and sisters Marcella Bonifield, Esther Stukenborg, Margaret Oldiges, and Becky McEldowney.

Ruby was a member of the Rossburg United Methodist Church where she actively participated. Earlier in life she was a song leader and helped with Vocation Bible School. Ruby enjoyed planting flowers and watching birds, but most of all she loved spending time with her family.

Ruby is survived by her sons, Jerry R. and Elaine Singer of New Weston, Larry J. and June Singer of Lewisburg and Kerry M. Singer of Woodlawn, TN; 12. grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; 11 great great grandchildren; a brother Roger and Mary Sanders of Ansonia; sisters-in-law, Alice Sanders of Greenville, Dorothy Sanders of Ansonia, Donna Bonifield of New Weston, Caroline Singer of Palestine, Lois Singer of Greenville, and Margie Middleton of New Madison; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at Oliver Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville with Pastor Mitch Arnold officiating. Burial will follow in Greenville Township Memorial Gardens.

Steven "Mac" McIver, age 66, of Greenville, OH, passed away, Monday, February 6, 2017 at State of the Heart Hospice Care Unit in Greenville.

He was born Monday, November 6, 1950 in New Castle , IN, a son of the late James and Helen (Baldock) McIver.

Mac was a 1969 graduate of Chrysler Memorial High School in New Castle, IN where he was a member of the swim team and marching band. He enjoyed bowling and loved golf and would root for the Ohio State Buckeyes football and the IU Hoosiers basketball teams. Mac belonged to the Greenville Moose Lodge 329, Sons of the American Legion where he served a adjutant, VFW Auxiliary and Darke Co. Horseman's Association. Mac loved to travel and spend time with family and friends.

Steven is survived by his partner, of 15 years, Sue Thompson of Greenville, OH; three step children, Wendy (Travis) Aultman of Ansonia, OH, Brandi (Joe Lowhorn) Thompson of Greenville, OH, and Steven Thompson, Greenville, OH; six grandchildren, Brandon Shepherd of Greenville, OH, Kayla Shepherd of Greenville, OH, Amber Aultman of Ansonia, OH, Jonathan Aultman of Ansonia, OH, Aubrey Thompson of Greenville, OH, and Cole Thompson of Greenville, OH; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Tammy (Miller) Fisher, 54, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away surrounded by family and friends, on Saturday, February 4, 2017, at Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton, Ohio. She was born June 15, 1962, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, the daughter of Wilma (Kerch) Miller of Columbia City, Indiana, and the late Amos J. Miller.

She was a special education teacher. She began her teaching career in Indianapolis, Indiana for 10 years, and then moved to Greenville, Ohio and taught at Greenville City Schools for the next 20 years. She was a graduate of Columbia City High School, received her Bachelor’s Degree at Ball State University and her Master’s Degree at Indiana/Purdue University.

Tammy was one of the most gracious and genuine people around, and her spirit of generosity had no equal. She was a loving, caring soul, who was patient, kind and always putting others before herself. She was devoted to her family, and she treasured her roles as mother, teacher and friend. In her spare time she was an avid reader, enjoyed traveling, being near the water, and caring for her pets.

She was preceded in death by her father, grandparents, and infant brother, Scott Allan Miller.

She is survived by her mother; daughter , Sarah (Karlin) Ross; son, Colin S. Fisher ; sisters , Trudy (Curt) Miller-Longhenry and Julie (David) Casner; 5 nieces and nephews and 1 great niece.

Edgar Ray Voiles age 95, of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 2:30 PM on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at Heartland of Greenville, Ohio. Edgar was born December 16, 1921 in Morgan County, Tennessee and the son of the late William and Artamus (Hull) Voiles.

Edgar retired in 1986 as the owner/operator of Voiles Motor Repair Company where he had worked for 30 plus years. He was a Life Member of the Greenville V.F.W., Disables American Veterans and member of the United Commercial Travelers.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Winifred Jean (Spence) Voiles. They were married March 25, 1945. Also son Ton Hull Voiles in 2013; brothers Aubrey, Floyd, Wallace, Robert, Hobert, Leon Voiles and Roy Voiles; sisters Grace Northup, Ann Markland and Charlene Canaday.

Edgar is survived by his son & daughter-in-law, Jerry & Susan Voiles of Arcanum, Ohio; daughter-in-law, Judy Voiles of Greenville; grandchildren, Matthew, Mandy, Missy & Troy; and great-grandchildren, Emily, Brody, Brecken, T.J., Phoebe, Payton and Gavin as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Jack S. Seiler (February 5, 2017)

Jack S. Seiler, age 87 of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 2:34 PM Sunday February 5, 2017 at the Miami Valley Hospital Dayton, Ohio. Jack was born November 9, 1929 in Greenville, Ohio and the son of the late E.J. and Carrye (Spahr) Seiler.

He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean War. His military commitment earned him a seat on the Honor’s Flight to Washington DC.

In Jack’s early years he was actively involved in many of his father’s business ventures including starting the White Springs Golf Course, working at Seiler’s Sport Shop in downtown Greenville and working in the tree nursery on the family farm.

Jack was retired from BASF and enjoyed spending his free time playing golf, gardening, taking trips and visiting with old friends. One of his routines in more recent years was joining friends for breakfast at McDonalds on Tuesday mornings. Being raised on a golf course, Jack was a natural on the links and accomplished two hole-in-ones and several club championships in his time.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Jim Seiler.

Jack is survived by his wife of 57 years, Kay (Birt) Seiler of Greenville. They were married March 23, 1959. Also children Jenny (Jack) Clark of Arcanum, Mark (Erin) Seiler of Springfield, Ohio and Michael (Cyndi) Seiler of Key West, Florida; grandchildren Katie (Tom) Gabbard, Daniel Clark, Molly Clark, Adam Seiler, Andrew Seiler and Aubree Smith; brother Dick (Phyllis) Seiler of Greenville, Jack’s favorite dog “Dixie” as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday February 10, 2017 in the Zechar Bailey Funeral Home Greenville, Ohio with Pastor Don Myers officiating. Full Military Honors will be conducted by the Greenville Veterans Honor Guard. Burial will follow in the Greenville Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday February 10, 2017 from 12:00 Noon until time of the services in the funeral home.

Pastor Sam Hoeflich, age 93, of Greenville, OH, passed away, Friday, February 3, 2017 at Brookdale Senior Living in Greenville.

He was born Saturday, March 24, 1923 in , Covington, OH, a son of the late Carl and Katie (Popp) Hoeflich.

In addition to his parents, Sam was preceded in death by his sister, Jane Ann Longenecker.

Sam was a veteran of the United Sate Army, serving honorably in WWII. He was a chaplain at Wayne Hospital, and chaplain of the Greenville Honor Guard for the VFW and the American Legion, He was a member of the 40 & 8 club and pastored at St. Paul's Lutheran Church from 1956 to 1967 and then Christ Church form 1968 to 1988.

Sam is survived by his Wife, of 67 years, Dorothy Ann (Robinson) Hoeflich, whom he married February 3, 1950 .

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Carl (Paula) Hoeflich of Bradford, OH, Katie Hannah of Greenville, OH and Annie (Mark) Oiler of Greenville, OH; six grandchildren, Brian Hoeflich of Dayton, OH, David Hoeflich of Englewood, OH, Ciara Lambert of Bradford, OH, Bethany Oiler of Charlotte, NC, Emily Oiler of Hilliard, OH and Matthew Oiler of Offut Air Force Base, NE; and one great grandchild, Sebastien Hoeflich.

Donald was born Wednesday, March 31, 1943 in Covington, OH, a son of the late Robert and Lois (Hoover) Newbauer.

In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by his wife, Karen S. Newbauer, son, Vincent Newbauer, brothers, Robert Newbauer, Jr., Ronnie Newbauer, Rodney Newbauer and Charlie Newbauer and a sister, Sissy Newbauer.

Donald served his country honorably in the U.S. Air Force. He was very active in the 87th APS Association. Donald was a life member of the Airforce Sergeants Association and the AMVETS. He was also a member of the American Legion, VFW, and the Masonic Lodge all of Greenville. Donald had retired from Fram in Greenville.

Donald is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Shawna and Mike Wise of Greenville; grandsons, Douglas and Aaron; brothers, Merle Lee Newbauer and John A. Newbauer; sisters, Ruth Avery and Lynn Newbauer; several nieces and nephews.

Michael David King, 43, of Greenville, OH, passed away, Sunday, January 29, 2017 at his residence.

Michael was born Friday, March 9, 1973 in Greenville, OH, the son of David and Kathy (McClure) King.

Michael was preceded in death by paternal grandmother, Wavelene Woodall, maternal grandparents, Wilbert and Dorothy McClure, and a nephew, John Michael Warner.

Michael was an avid soccer fan. He loved listening to faith based music, reading scripture and books of many inspirational authors. One thing Michael was very sure of was his salvation and faith in Christ and loved sharing Jesus' message with others.

In addition to his parents, Michael is survived by his daughter, Kalista King of Greenville; a son, Simeon King of Greenville; sister and brother in law, Shelly and Pat Warner of Arcanum; niece, Lauren Warner of Arcanum; nephews, Jesse Warner, Sam Warner and AJ Warner all of Arcanum; and numerous cousins.

Robert Leroy Grim, 90, of Greenville, OH, passed away, Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at Heartland of Greenville.

Robert was born Monday, June 28, 1926 in Darke County, OH, a son of the late Everett and Mabel (Schlechty) Grim.

In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Jeff Burrell Sr. and an infant sister, Thelma Grim.

Robert served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy. He was a supervisor for United Telephone Company of Ohio for 37 years and also drove a school bus for Greenville City Schools for 10 years. He loved taking care of his yard and his roses. He was a member of the VFW and the Elks Lodge #1139 both in Greenville.

Robert is survived by his wife, of 65 years, Virginia (Pearce) Grim whom he married Saturday, December 8, 1951; son and daughter-in-law, Rodney and Kimberly Grim of Greenville; daughters and son-in law; Gail and Thomas Riegle of Arcanum and Carolyn Burrell of Arcanum; 8 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren.

Janet L. Headley, age 79 of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 3:10 PM Monday January 30, 2017 at the Rest Haven Nursing Home Greenville, Ohio. Janet was born May 20, 1937 in Darke County Ohio and the daughter of the late Hugh G. and Helen (Fry) Pence.

Janet had been employed at the Poultry Producers Association, the Buckeye Overall Company and John’s IGA all of Versailles. Also she had been employed as a dispatcher with the Darke County Sheriff’s Department. She was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church, Women of the Moose, Eagles Ladies Auxiliary and the Order of the Eastern Star, all of Greenville. She was a 1955 graduate of Greenville High School and was very active with the alumni class functions.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Walter Samuel Headley
May 4, 2002. They were married June 25, 1955. Also her brother John “Jack” Pence; sisters Hazel Pence and Margaret “Marge” Miller.

Janet is survived by her son Steven D. (Lisa) Headley of Greenville; grandchildren Erin (Adam) Headley Morris, Joy (Scott) Headley Stocker, Luke (Alexis) Headley, Nathan (Rachel) Elliott, Rhea Elliott and Danielle Gehle; step grandchildren Gloria Elliott, Tricia (Keith) Gehle Woodland , and Michael Gehle ; 10 great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Connie was born on August 4, 1945 in Greenville, Ohio, to Herschel A. Bowers, Jr. and Mary Alice (Alexander) Bowers, who preceded her in death.

Connie was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend who loved being surrounded by her children and grandchildren, playing games and traveling with her friends and crafting beautiful crochet projects.

David Andrew Burke, 59, of Greenville, OH, passed away, Sunday, January 29, 2017 at State of the Heart Care Center.

He was born Friday, October 04, 1957 in Greenville, OH, a son Penelope Weaver and the late Edward Burke.

In addition to his father, David was preceded in death by his step mother Jessie Burke.

Work was Dave's hobby. He had owned and operated Dave's Service and Excavating. He was a 1976 graduate of Greenville High School.

David is survived by his wife, Joann Burke; his children, Mya (Brian) Stump and Jason (Krystal) Burke; grandchildren, Addison Burke, Kyndall Burke, Nolan Stump, Kinley Stump; and brothers, Steven Burke,
Mike Burke, Mark Weaver, Jim Burke, Danny Weaver.

Sharon M. Johnson (January 29, 2017)

Sharon M. Johnson, age 70 of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 3:00 AM Sunday January 29, 2017 at her residence. Sharon was born March 17, 1946 in Dayton, Ohio and the daughter of the late Ildon and Elizabeth (Curtin) Mahaffy.

She was a homemaker and had been employed at Sink Jewelry Store of Arcanum.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister Judy Mahaffy.

Sharon is survived by her husband Paul L. Johnson of Greenville. They were married April 25, 1965. Also a daughter JaNelle (Steve) Gilliland of Pitsburg; son Jeremiah (Tammy Zuelgelder) Johnson of Brookville; grandchildren Cody Johnson, Kayla Gilliland, Chancellor Gilliland, Zachary Gilliland, Xavier Gilliland, AvaRuby Gilliland and Elijah Gilliland; brothers Roland (Ruth) Mahaffy of Greenville and Bill Mahaffy of Arcanum; sister Effie (Forest) Myers of Greenville and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life Service will be announced at a later date.

William Eli "Bill" Kiser (January 28, 2017)

William Eli "Bill" Kiser, age 69, of Greenville, OH, passed away, Saturday, January 28, 2017 at State of the Heart Hospice Care Center in Greenville.

He was born Sunday, September 28, 1947 in Greenville, Ohio, a son of the late Lawrence and Alice (Smith) Kiser.

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his brother, James O. Smith, his two sisters, Barbara DeBoard and Doris K. Kiser and his son-in-law, Michael Hogg.

Bill was a volunteer firefighter for the Pitsburg Fire Department. He was a diesel mechanic for Royal Crest Distributors for 20 years and for Armsway Tank Transport for 5 years, and retired from S & H Auto Repair. Bill loved NASCAR and had once owned a car which he raced at Eldora. Bill was a jolly ol elf who loved Christmas and was an avid collector of Christmas villages and animated Christmas characters. He could often be found enjoying his western movies.

William "Bill" is survived by his Wife, of 50 years, Mabel Kiser, whom he married August 27, 1966; two daughters, Kimberly (Rob) Brandon of Greenville, OH, and DeRhonda Newberry of Greenville, OH; six grandchildren, Jessica Hogg of Celina, OH, Andrew (Nikki) Hogg of Rockford, OH, Elizabeth (Greg) Schoen of St. Mary's, OH, Devinn Vietor of Greenville, OH, Justtinna Vietor of Greenville, OH, Matthew Newberry of Greenville, OH, four great grandchildren, Kaleb Huebner of Celina, OH, Kayley Huebner of Celina, OH, Warren Hogg of Rockford, OH, Owen Schoen of St. Mary's, OH; two brothers, Lawrence "Sham" (Marsha) Kiser, Jr. of Union City, OH, and Michael Kiser of Greenville, OH; and a special niece, Rebekah (Charles) Whiteted of Springfield, OH, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at Oliver Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville with Rev. Eric Fee officiating. Burial will follow in Greenville Township Memorial Gardens.

Family and friends may visit Tuesday, January 31, 2017 from 5:00PM to 8:00PM at the funeral home. and again Wednesday from 1:00PM until the service at 2:00PM.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family to help offset medical and funeral expenses.
