Norman E. Christian age 59, of Ansonia passed away at 11:10 AM on Monday, October 23, 2017, at his residence.
Norman was born October 25, 1957, in Greenville to the late Forest E. & Eileen H. (Barge) Christian. In addition to his parents, Norman was also preceded in death by his brother, Ronald Lee Christian.
Norman is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Mamazza of Ansonia; significant other, Angela Holmes of Ansonia and her children, Kaylee Holmes and Ethan Holmes; grandchildren, Skyler Lyme and Kelsey Mamazza; brother & sister-in-law, Ivan & Sheila Christian of Versailles; sister, Joann Christian of Greenville; and a niece, Amanda Christian of Bradford.
Norman worked at Whirlpool Corporation in Greenville and formerly worked at Lambert Corporation in Ansonia. He was an avid sports enthusiast, supporting the Ansonia Tigers, The Ohio State Buckeyes, Cincinnati Reds, Bill Elliott and NASCAR. Norman really enjoyed spending time with his family.
A celebration of Norman’s life will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, October 27, 2017, at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville with Pastor Scott Ritz officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday from 12:00 to 2:00 PM at the funeral home and request that everyone dresses casual in their favorite sports team apparel. B. Joan Coovert, age 89, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at 12:35 AM at Rest Haven Nursing Home, Greenville, Ohio. She was born on January 13, 1928 in Darke County, Ohio, to the late Sherman & Gertrude (Cashman) Baird.
She is survived by her granddaughter, Emily Duncan and her husband, Matt of Mount Pleasant, Michigan and great granddaughter, Ryeley Duncan.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Marion D. “Chuck” Coovert; daughter and son in law, Connie & Brian Malcho; siblings, Thelma (Baird) Shives, Donald Baird, Richard Baird, James Ray Baird and Vera (Baird) Coppess and niece, Terry Young.
Joan loved gardening, playing cards and traveling. Along with her husband they loved spending the summers at their cabin in Cedarville, MI. She loved spending time with family and friends and especially her great granddaughter Ryeley.
There will be a graveside service held on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Greenville Cemetery, Greenville, Ohio, with Pastor Todd Reish officiating. There will be no public visitation. Arrangements are under the direction of Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio.

He enjoyed playing cards, gardening and was a volunteer for the Versailles Emergency Medical Services for many years.

Donald “Butch” Myers (October 18, 2017)
Donald “Butch” Myers, 75, of Greenville, passed away Wednesday, October 18, 2017, at Village Greene Health Campus. He was born April 24, 1942, in Lena Ohio, a son of the late Frank and Opal (Baker) Myers.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Linda Myers; his sisters, Thelma and Sandy; his brother, Kenneth Myers.
Butch served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy. After 25, years, he retired in 1997 from Hobart Brothers in Troy. He was a member of the Troy Country Music Association, and a former member of the Troy Moose Lodge. He was such an avid Cincinnati Reds fan, that Heartland Hospice made it possible for him to attend a special Cincinnati Reds game for patients with ALS, going to this game meant the world to Butch.
Butch is survived by his children, whom he cherished and were always in his heart, Donald E. (Brenda) Myers, Jr. of Troy, Kimberly Miller of Ansonia, Jeffery L. Myers of Arizona, Robert C. Myers of Troy, Margaret (Anthony) Barnes of Reynoldsburg, Mindy (Robert) Wilson of Conover, Ohio, Jennifer (Wayne) Ball of Troy, and Peter G. Richard D. Wion, age 82 of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 4:25 PM Wednesday October 18, 2017 at his residence in Greenville. Dick was born March 15, 1935 in Union City, Ohio and the son of the late Lester Leo and Doretha (Wentworth) Wion.
He was a 1953 graduate of Greenville High School and following graduation started his career with Van Leer of Greenville, retiring in 1986. Dick loved to fish and work with wood and during his younger years enjoyed riding horses. He also attended the Teegarden Congregational Christian Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Robert E. Wion in 2005.
Dick is survived by his wife Sanda (Voke) Wion of Greenville. They were married July 29, 1955. Also children Steve Wion of Bradford, Terry (Lenny) McCann of Greenville, Dottie (Todd) Denniston of Ansonia, Sheryl (Rick) Hollopeter of Bradford and Bonnie (Nick) McEowen of Union City, Indiana; grandchildren Jason Wion, Stevie (Karley) Wion, Eric (Johanna) McCann, Sarah (Scott) Myers, Kevin (Jessica) McCann, Samantha McCann, Angie (Mark) Thomas, Aimee (Josh) Fletcher, Nathan Denniston, Sacha (Zach) Pollitt, Jesse Lawson, Rochelle Lawson, Paul Lawson, Nickolas McEowen and Brooke McEowen; 24 great grandchildren; sisters in law Iva Wion and Naomi Voke both of Greenville as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Harry J. Moody (October 18, 2017)
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Dan and sister-in-law, Becky Moody, Lee Moody and Jim Moody; and brother-in-law, JC Waymire; and a step grandson, Logan Starline.
Harry retired from New Idea in Coldwater after 45 years of service. He was a horseman his whole life and shared that love with his children, grandchildren and brothers. He would take his family, and anyone who would follow, to the horseman's camp at Brown Co. Indiana State Park for hours of trail riding. Harry was a wonderful grandfather. He could always be counted on to be at any sporting event they were participating in. June was the center of his world and he never wanted her out of his site. Harry was a faithful husband, loving father and supportive grandfather. Harry had a fighting spirit and would never give up. He was his family's protector and mentor. He leaves a hole that will never be filled. He will be missed.

Dale Allen Meier, 76, of Greenville, passed away on October 13, 2017 at State of the Heart Hospice Care Unit in Greenville.
Dale was born on December 2, 1940 in Greenville, to the late Harry and Ruth (Blizzard) Meier.
In addition to his parents, Dale was preceded in death by his wife of 36 years, Karen (Mills) Meier whom he married October 29, 1977; and his brother, Verlin Meier.
Dale was a farmer for 53 years. He never missed a day at the Great Darke County Fair and would make several rounds every day around the fair to see who he would run in to and talk with. Dale loved to go to estate and farm auctions or “sales” as he would call them. He would bid of the items no one else would wanted and come home with truckloads of “stuff I may use someday”. He was active in 4-H helping Karen with whatever he could for the Silver Hoofs 4-H Club and continued his support after she passed away in 2014. Dale would spend his time “piddlin” around the farm. He was a strong man, faithful husband, loving Dad and enjoyed spending time with his grandkids. He has left many memories and a legacy of hard work and family. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Myron” Cork” D. Sharp, 72, of Greenville, passed away on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at his residence.
He was born October 14, 1944 in Greenville, Ohio, the son of the late Dain and Opal (Jones) Sharp.
Cork was a 1963 graduate of Greenville Senior High School. He was employed with Century Link for 44 years. Cork was a member of the Greenville Elks Lodge #1139. He enjoyed showing Quarter horses and was a former 4-H advisor in Darke County. He loved to take drives in his Red Corvette. Most of all, he cherished his time with his family and friends.

He was born October 14, 1944 in Greenville, Ohio, the son of the late Dain and Opal (Jones) Sharp.
Cork was a 1963 graduate of Greenville Senior High School. He was employed with Century Link for 44 years. Cork was a member of the Greenville Elks Lodge #1139. He enjoyed showing Quarter horses and was a former 4-H advisor in Darke County. He loved to take drives in his Red Corvette. Most of all, he cherished his time with his family and friends.
Cork is survived by his wife of 44 years, Evelyn (Wert) Sharp of Greenville, whom he married March 9, 1973; his children and their spouses, Douglas Sharp, Bobbie (Dan) Nickell , Melissa Mitchell and Justin (Robin) Sharp, all of Greenville ; his grandchildren, Jacob Nickell, Zachary Mitchell, Wyatt Sharp, Samantha Nickell, and Roman Mitchell; his great grandson, Kayden Hemmelgarn; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Martha Sharp of Greenville and Pat (Roger) Curtis of Greenville; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bob (Barb) Wert, Greenville; his sister-in-law, Carla Simons of Greenville; his aunt, Mary Redmond of Greenville; and several nieces and nephews.

Kay Perez (October 8, 2017)
Kay Perez, 56, of Ansonia, Ohio passed away on Sunday, October 8, 2017 at her residence.
She was born February 19, 1961 in Greenville, Ohio, the daughter of the late Curtis L. and Rebecca E. (Sanders) McEldowney. In addition to her parents, Kay was preceded in death by her brothers, Scott McEldowney and Curtis McEldowney, Jr.
Kay owned and operated Kay’s Tan and Tone in New Weston for 10 years. She was a very active member in the Darke County Cattlemen’s Association and Livestock in General 4-H Club. Kay enjoyed tending to her flowers and shopping. Kay and her husband cherished visits from their granddaughter, Mikayla, helping her work with her steers and getting ready for the cattle shows. Most of all, Kay enjoyed spending time with her family. When the entire family came together, her tradition was to make them mashed potatoes and noodles.
Kay is survived by her husband, Apollo Perez of Ansonia, whom she married on December 29, 1976; a daughter and son-in-law, Megan (Marcom) Cover of Rossburg; a son, Mason Perez of Mediapolis, Iowa; grandchildren, Mikayla, Amaya and Eric; brothers and sisters-in-law, Duane (Roxanne) McEldowney of New Madison, and Terry McEldowney of Versailles; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Evelyn “Ebby” (Pitsenbarger) Selander age 93, of Versailles, Ohio passed away at 1:03 AM on Monday, October 9, 2017, at the Versailles Health Care Center.
She was born July 6, 1924, the second of five children in Versailles, Ohio to the late Elmer & Emma (Hauschild) Pitsenbarger. In addition to her parents, Evelyn was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Merle Selander on December 20, 2005 whom she married June 24, 1945; and brother, Floyd “Bear” Pitsenbarger.
Evelyn is survived by her sisters & brothers-in-law, Dorthabel & Gene Fox of Englewood, Phyllis & Jerry Oliver of Versailles and Janet & Howard Rehmert of Versailles; and a sister-in-law, Janet (Berger) Pitsenbarger of Versailles.
Ebby cherished her family and loved spending time with the many nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews. Evelyn graduated from Versailles High School in 1942. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Willowdell. She did clerical work for Poultry Producers and the Versailles Policy before she retired. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and baking her wonderful homemade bread, cookies and special chocolate cake.

David Allen Fornshil (October 8, 2017)
David Allen Fornshil, age 86 of Wayne Lakes, Ohio passed away at 6:47 AM Sunday October 8, 2017 at Rest Haven Nursing Home in Greenville, Ohio. Dave was born April 29, 1931 in Cincinnati, Ohio and the son of the late Winfield Dean and Edna Lucille (Campbell) Fornshil.
Dave was a Veteran of the US Navy serving as an Aviation Electronic Technician during the Korean War. Following his Naval service he attended ITT Technical Institute in Indiana for 3 years and later retired in 1993 from GTE of Troy, Ohio as a foreman and switch worker having installed the first electronic telephone office in Ohio.
He was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church of Greenville, the Germantown Masonic Lodge, served on the Wayne Lakes Village Council and had coached boy’s baseball. Dave enjoyed going RV’ing with his wife Marilyn and fishing, computer and electronic equipment. Dave was also a lifelong HAM Radio operator.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by granddaughters Rachael Elizabeth Bass and Infant McNutt and a brother Donald Fornshil.
Dave is survived by his wife Marilyn Elizabeth (Foster) Fornshil of Wayne Lakes. They were married August 15, 1954. His children Rebecca Hatfield of Middletown, Ohio, Debra (Rodney) McNutt of Wayne Lakes, Lisa Pasch of Pendleton, Indiana, Dean (Christine) Fornshil of Dayton and Chris (Ronda) Fornshil of Wayne Lakes; grandchildren Jesse Hatfield, Trisha Allison, Allison Roberts, Christopher Fornshil, Steven Fornshil, Maggie Salem, Andrew Fornshil, Jamie Welch and Matthew Fornshil; great grandchildren Brandilyn Allison, Gage Allison, Rowan Hawes, Dayne Roberts, Cam Fornshil, Landen Roberts, Jordyn Welch, Zoey Fornshil, Khaled Salem, Cora Fornshil, Sophie Higgs, Carter Fornshil, Faith Welch and Xavier Higgs as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Robert L. Stigleman age 90, of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 12:40 PM on Wednesday, October 4, 2017, at the Brethren Retirement Community in Greenville.
Robert was born January 11, 1927, in Wayne County, Indiana to the late Louis H. & Lillian (Genn) Stigleman. In addition to his parents, Robert was also preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Mae (McClintock) Stigleman on September 17, 2016, whom he married January 6, 1967; son, James Stigleman; brother, Bill Stigleman; and sisters, Rosemary Stigleman and Wilma Mullen.
Robert is survived by his children, Mike & Faye Stigleman of Richmond, Indiana, Beth & Bob O’Neil of Richmond, Indiana, Carolyn Scheiben & Frank Holt of Richmond, Indiana and Bob Stigleman of Florida; daughter-in-law, Vickie Stigleman of Ohio; step-children, Linda & Charlie Roe of Fulton, Missouri, Joseph & Janet Worz of Ansonia, Ohio, Daniel Worz of Greenville, Ohio and Dr. John Kevin & Jeannie Worz of St. Augustine, Florida; 14 grandchildren; and several great and great-great grandchildren.
Robert retired in 1992 from the Darke County Courthouse where he was custodian for 15 years. He later worked part-time at Kroger in Greenville. Robert was a member of the Greenville Missionary Church.

Victor Lee French, age 74, of Greenville, Ohio, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 5, 2017 at 2:13 AM at Kettering Medical Center. He was born on May 18, 1943, in Greenville, Ohio, to Harold Victor French of Greenville and the late Lois (Martin) French. Vic was actively involved in taking care of his parents.
Vic is survived by his wife of 53 years Rebecca S. (McCabe) French; children, Beth Ann Fisherback of Greenville, Gwen Sue & D. Duane Warvel of Versailles, and Dane Lee & Kirsten French of Greenville; grandchildren, Jordyn Fisherback, Jenna Fisherback, Sadie (Kyle) Beachy, Chloe Warvel, Trevyn & Abby French, Ty & Morgan French, and Taylin (Kyle) Ramey; great grandchildren, Charlotte Anne “Annie” Beachy, Henry French, Rohan French, and Norah and Hayden Ramey; brother and sister in law, Steve & Nina French of Greenville; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Vic worked at the American Water Company for 35 years and was also a farmer. He was a member of the EUM Church and Masonic Lodge. Vic was a people person as he never met a stranger. He was a very giving man and volunteered his time through FISH where he was also a board member. He also was active at the Red Cross where he helped after Hurricane Katrina and was an avid blood donor. He was a huge sports fan enjoying OSU football (we will have the OSU game playing on Saturday), NASCAR where he went to Talladega for many years, and Duke Basketball. He was also a volunteer assistant basketball coach for local high schools. Despite everything he did for his community, his family was most important to him. He enjoyed coaching his children’s sports teams, loved attending family events and spending time with his wife, kids, and grandchildren. His family will forever cherish the 50th wedding anniversary trip to Destin, Florida, and he will be greatly missed by many.
There will be a Celebration of Life on Sunday, October 8, 2017, at 4:00 PM at EUM Church, 1451 Sater St., Greenville, Ohio, with Pastor Jeff Harper officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. There will be a visitation held on Saturday, October 7, 2017, from 2-6 PM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio.

She was born January 15, 1939, in Hazard, Kentucky to the late James & Callie (Morris) Deaton. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brothers, Carson & Charlie Deaton; and a sister, Vernia Holland.

Marilyn Ann Seiber, born March 28, 1930 in Pinesville, Kentucky, went home to be with her Savior on October 1, 2017 after a brief illness.
She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Wallace R. Seiber; children, Glenda M (Ron) Chumney of Columbia, South Carolina, Michael L. Seiber of Ferris, Texas, Rebecca J. (Robert) Floyd of Greenville, Ohio, Peggy J. (Robin) Cabe of Canton, Georgia; five grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchildren.

Robert Lee “Bob” Longenecker, 81 of Ansonia, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
He was born May 17, 1936 in Darke County, Ohio the son of the late Treva (Lambert) Hangen. Bob was raised by his grandparents, the late Webster and Rachel Lambert.
In addition to his mother, Bob was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters in-law, Elizabeth and Ralph Christman, Harry Glasscoe, Sam Glasscoe, Jack and Cathryn Glasscoe, Tom Glasscoe, and Jerry and Phyllis Glasscoe.
Bob was a 1954 graduate of Greenville High School. He worked for 40 years at the Union City Body Company and retired in 2003. As a teenager, Bob worked helping other farmers in the county and eventually would own his own farm. He was a lifelong farmer and enjoyed it until the age of 79. Bob was a member of the infamous Whistle Stop Coffee Club.
Bob is survived by his wife, Clouia (Glasscoe) Longenecker of Ansonia, whom he married on August 7, 1965; his sons and daughters-in-law, Rob and Judy Longenecker of Ansonia and Jeff and Jodi Longenecker of Ansonia; his grandchildren, Zac, Cierra, Jacob, Cameron, Coleton, and Luken; his sisters-in-law, Opal and Jim Halderman of West Milton and Edna Barlow of New Madison; and numerous nieces and nephews.

On September 26, 2017, Nita June Watern of New Madison, Ohio, age 73, succumbed to a long battle with cancer and went to be with our dear Lord, to join those in Heaven she treasured in life.
Nita was a giving person and her passions include quilting, crocheting, and cooking. All of which she gave as gifts from her heart.
Nita was an extremely wonderful and devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and a dear friend to many. She will be deeply missed by all that knew her. Nita was a member of the Harrison Street Baptist Church in New Madison, Ohio. She was very blessed to have such an incredible Pastor and church family, with whom she loved with all of her heart.
Nita was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Fred E. Watern. Fred and Nita had two sons, Steven E. and his wife, Sandra L. Watern of New Paris, Ohio, and Joseph B. and his wife, Nina M. Watern of Wapakoneta, Ohio.
Nita was the daughter of the late Elberta F. Grubb, formerly of Dayton, Ohio. She had seven siblings, Jerry N. Walker, Larry H. Walker, and Ronald E. Walker, who are all deceased, and Mark R. Baller, Sandra R. Nelson, and Freda S. O’Bryan, who all still survive.
Nita had thirteen grandchildren, John T. Vetter, Shaun E. Vanover, Gabriel P. Watern, Rachel L. Watern, Tabitha R. Watern, Timothy S. Watern and Daniel A. Watern. These are the children of Steven and Sandra Watern. Madelynne R. Watern, Katherynne N. Watern, Peyton E. Watern, Carson J. Watern, Lillyanne M. Watern, and Hayden A. Watern. These are the children of Joseph and Nina Watern.
Nita also leaves behind six great grandchildren, three great aunts, a great uncle, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. All of whom will forever remember how wonderful and giving of a person Nita was and will forever miss her.

Cindy Farrell, age 68 of Wayne Lakes, Ohio passed away at 7:20 PM Wednesday September 20, 2017 at her residence. Cindy was born September 1, 1949 in Dayton, Ohio and the daughter of the late Roland and Shirley (Craft) Bryer.
She was retired from the Greenville City School System as a bus driver. Cindy loved animals, spending time outdoors including working with her flowers and was an avid reader.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a niece, Brandi Browder, and her mother- in- law, Georgia (Ross) Farrell.
Cindy is survived by her husband, Tom A. Farrell of Wayne Lakes. They were married June 18, 1971. Also, her children Vanessa M. (Aaron) Larkins of Cincinnati, Tom I. Farrell of Milwaukee, Wis. and Ivan K. She was born January 30, 1926 in Union City, Indiana the daughter of the late Phillip & Fern (Lacey) Livingston. She was a Teachers Aid at Missinawa Valley Schools for 25+ years retiring in 1986.

Joan Hawley (September 15th, 2017)
Joan Hawley, after some months of deteriorating health, died Friday morning, September 15th, with her sons at her side. She had lived the last two years at the Brethren Retirement Community and was five weeks away from her 93rd birthday. Her son Jeff died in 2010, and her husband, Dr. Daniel Hawley, died in 1973. She is the daughter of Erma Jefferis and Carl Mergler, and stepdaughter of Carmen Jefferis (all deceased).
Joan lived most of her life in Greenville, a town she loved and served in many ways. Her varied work path included the Yarn Dome, Greenville Public Schools, the Greenville City Building, and the Darke Co. Courthouse. In retirement she thoroughly enjoyed her association with the Garst Museum as well as being part of the leadership team for the GHS Alumni Association. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church for 70 years, singing in the choir and serving as an Elder.
Despite times of sadness in her life, she found great joy within her family and from her many friendships. She delighted in family gatherings, particularly during Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas, as well as numerous weddings. Family vacations were highlights—especially being on the water with her sons in various watercraft ranging from kayaks, canoes, and sailboats to water taxis and ski boats.
She is survived by her sons Tom (Laura), John (Robin), and Dave; her grandchildren Margaret (Jason) Morgan, Sarah (Taylor) Hawley, John (Tanika) Hawley, Bob (Laura) Hawley, Tiffany (Carter) Hawley, and Dan Hawley; and great-grandchildren Camillia Morgan, Acala Cresci, Liam and Maya Creighton, and Bailey, Sam, Johanna, Isabel, Jace, and Avrie Hawley; two sisters, Ann Patty and Frances Miller; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was especially fond of her daughters-in-law: Marcy, Jeannie, Linda, Lynne, Laura, and Robin. Joan also appreciated special friendships with Barb Hole and Gerri Strauss.
Joan died as she lived—peacefully and with measures of courage and resilience. She is missed by her family and friends.
Services will be held on Saturday September 30, 2017 at 11:00 AM at First Presbyterian Church 114 East Fourth Street Greenville, Ohio with Rev. Dr. John Person officiating. Helen E. (Marshall) Willman (September 19, 2017)
Helen E. (Marshall) Willman age 91 of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 11:11 AM Tuesday September 19, 2017 at the Brethren Retirement Community of Greenville. Helen was born September 2, 1926 in Columbus, Ohio and the daughter of the late Foster and Helen (Truxall) Marshall.
She was retired having worked for many years as a Clerk for the Darke County Court. She was a long time member of the St. John Lutheran Church of Greenville singing in the church choir and serving as the Church Treasurer for many years. She had also been involved with the Girl Scouts as a Scout Leader and an instructor of Folk Dancing and active in a local Music Club. Helen was a former member of the Darke County YMCA and had been involved with several old friends in an early morning swimming group. She also enjoyed the long summer camping trips with all the family and numerous trips overseas and to the Mideast with her husband Mike’s Army reunion group. Many years ago she had been employed at the Columbus Dispatch as a photographer and had always had an interest in aviation and space travel.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Michael L. Willman April 16, 2003. They were married August 17, 1947. Also by her sister Ruth Ann Keck.

James “Jim” Leis, 77, of Rossburg, passed away Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at Village Green Health Campus in Greenville.
He was born September 26,1939 in Darke County, Ohio, to the late Ernest and Anna Gertrude (Campbell) Leis.
In addition to his parents, Jim is preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Darrrel Rowland.
Jim was born and raised a farmer. He milked cows and had cattle, and other livestock; he planted corn, soy beans, wheat and hay. He was a member of Rossburg United Methodist Church. As a young man, Jim and his friends would modify their tractors and compete in tractor pulls. Jim was a kind and generous man. He has helped a lot of people and would never ask for anything in return. The only thing that Jim wasn't a fan of, was groundhogs. He had life-long war on any groundhog that was unlucky enough to step foot on his property. Jim loved his family and adored his grandchildren. He was a devoted husband and caring father. He has left many lasting and fond memories.
Jim is survived by his wife of 59 years, Janet (Hartzell) Leis of Rossburg, whom he married on January 11, 1958; his daughters and sons-in-law; Aliana and Bryan Clymer of Greenville and Cindy and Steve Shoop of Greenville; his grandchildren and spouses, Holly and Chad Garrison of New Albany, Ohio and Brianne and Craig Galloway of Columbus, Ohio; his great granddaughters, Stella and Scarlett Garrison; his great grandson, Bodhi Galloway; and his sister and brother-in-law, Janet (Rowland) and Gail Long of New Paris, Ohio.

Bonita “Bonnie” Stryker, 70, of Greenville, passed away on Monday, September 18, 2017 at Heartland of Greenville.
Bonnie was born on November 21, 1946 in Greenville, the daughter of the late Lloyd and Rose (Weikert) Stryker.
Bonnie was an animal lover. She adored her dog, and cats and loved horses. She worked for several years at Eikenberry’s in the bakery. Bonnie looked forward to spending time with her family and enjoyed her nieces, nephews, and all the greats nieces and nephews. Bonnie had a caring soul and will be fondly remembered and sorely missed.

Billy Leon Mikesell, age 86 of Hollansburg, Ohio passed away at 3:00 AM Tuesday September 19, 2017 at his residence. Billy was born August 15, 1931 in Darke County and the son of the late Charles E. and Myrtle M. (Lyme) Mikesell.
Billy and Jeanette were the former owners of the Coon Den of Darke County for 54 years and he had also been employed for 18 years at the former Sater Products.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Billy is survived by his wife Jeanette F. (Stiver) Mikesell of Hollansburg. They had been married for 66 years. Also sons Bruce (Gail) Mikesell of New Madison and Brice L. Mikesell of West Union, Ohio; daughter Jodena Mikesell of Arcanum; grandchildren Shawna Mikesell of West Union, Charles (April) Raby of Pitsburg, Ohio and Bradley Mikesell of Kettering; brother in law Ronald (Carolyn) Stiver of Union City, Ohio as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Private Graveside Funeral Services will be held at the convenience of the Family in the Palestine Cemetery Palestine, Ohio with Rev. Dr. Joe LeMaster officiating.
The will be no visitation.
It is the wishes of the family that Memorial Contributions be given to the Charity of your choice.

Billy and Jeanette were the former owners of the Coon Den of Darke County for 54 years and he had also been employed for 18 years at the former Sater Products.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Virginia R. Elam (September 17 , 2017)
Virginia R. Elam, 85, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away peacefully on September 17 , 2017.
She was born August 18, 1932 in Pineville, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Clyde Stokes and Bessie Evans. Virginia and Charles Elam married in 1955 and spent the next 34 years dedicated to each other and their children. Charles passed away August, 1989.
Left to cherish her memory are three daughters, Martina (Mike) Beach of Morristown, Tennessee, Sharon Elam of Greenville, and Karen Murphy of Greenville; two sons, Roger Elam of Springboro, Ohio, and Randy (Trish) Elam of Greenville; and her brother, Ronald (Carolyn) Evans. Virginia had many grandchildren along with many great grandchildren as well.
In addition to Charles, Virginia was preceded in death by her son, Tab Elam; brother, Roy "Jack" Stokes; and a sister, Marie Horton.
Virginia was a loving wife, mother and homemaker. She was also a devout Christian and a member of the First Baptist Church, Greenville, Ohio. Virginia had many very good friends throughout her years and enjoyed the times spent with them.
A visitation will be held Saturday, September 23, 2017 from 9 AM to 11 AM at First Baptist Church, 7233 St. Rt. 121 N., Greenville, with a memorial service following with Pastor Jimmy Elam officiating. There will be a short graveside service at Stelvideo Cemetery following the memorial service. A gathering of family and friends will be held at the church following the graveside service.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Alzheimer’s Association or Charity of Choice.
