Helen E. (Marshall) Willman age 91 of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 11:11 AM Tuesday September 19, 2017 at the Brethren Retirement Community of Greenville. Helen was born September 2, 1926 in Columbus, Ohio and the daughter of the late Foster and Helen (Truxall) Marshall.
She was retired having worked for many years as a Clerk for the Darke County Court. She was a long time member of the St. John Lutheran Church of Greenville singing in the church choir and serving as the Church Treasurer for many years. She had also been involved with the Girl Scouts as a Scout Leader and an instructor of Folk Dancing and active in a local Music Club. Helen was a former member of the Darke County YMCA and had been involved with several old friends in an early morning swimming group. She also enjoyed the long summer camping trips with all the family and numerous trips overseas and to the Mideast with her husband Mike’s Army reunion group. Many years ago she had been employed at the Columbus Dispatch as a photographer and had always had an interest in aviation and space travel.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Michael L. Willman April 16, 2003. They were married August 17, 1947. Also by her sister Ruth Ann Keck.
Helen is survived by her children Barbara Rhoads of Hamilton, Diane (James) Foutch of Denton, Texas and Steve (Roxanne) Willman of Greenville; grandchildren Dori Frederick, Jeffrey (Stephanie) Rhoads, Darby Keller, Jason (Aimee) Foutch, Susan Foutch, Mollie Mendoza, Matthew (Kristin) Willman and Mark (Nanci) Willman; great grandchildren Jaymz (Lora) Frederick, Alexandra Rhoads, Kayla Rhoads, Macayla Mendoza, Chloe Willman, Brady Willman, Eve Willman, Grant Willman, Evan Willman, Isabella Ornelas, Sonia Ferrell-Foutch and wife Spencer, Micah Neilson and husband Josh, Trevor Davila and Diego Davila; great great grandchild Jaymz Frederick Jr. as well as nieces Heidi (Tim) Welker and Karen (John) Snyder.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday September 30, 2017 at the St. John Lutheran Church 7418 State Route 121-N. Greenville, Ohio with Pastor Brian McGee officiating. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family in the St. John Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 10:00 AM until time of the services in the church.
It is the wishes of the family that Memorial Contributions be given to St. John Lutheran Church or the Charity of your choice.
