Robert was born January 11, 1927, in Wayne County, Indiana to the late Louis H. & Lillian (Genn) Stigleman. In addition to his parents, Robert was also preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Mae (McClintock) Stigleman on September 17, 2016, whom he married January 6, 1967; son, James Stigleman; brother, Bill Stigleman; and sisters, Rosemary Stigleman and Wilma Mullen.
Robert is survived by his children, Mike & Faye Stigleman of Richmond, Indiana, Beth & Bob O’Neil of Richmond, Indiana, Carolyn Scheiben & Frank Holt of Richmond, Indiana and Bob Stigleman of Florida; daughter-in-law, Vickie Stigleman of Ohio; step-children, Linda & Charlie Roe of Fulton, Missouri, Joseph & Janet Worz of Ansonia, Ohio, Daniel Worz of Greenville, Ohio and Dr. John Kevin & Jeannie Worz of St. Augustine, Florida; 14 grandchildren; and several great and great-great grandchildren.
Robert retired in 1992 from the Darke County Courthouse where he was custodian for 15 years. He later worked part-time at Kroger in Greenville. Robert was a member of the Greenville Missionary Church.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, October 14, 2017, at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville with Rev. Gary Oser officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in Greenville Township Memorial Garden at a later date.
