Myron” Cork” D. Sharp, 72, of Greenville, passed away on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at his residence.
He was born October 14, 1944 in Greenville, Ohio, the son of the late Dain and Opal (Jones) Sharp.
Cork was a 1963 graduate of Greenville Senior High School. He was employed with Century Link for 44 years. Cork was a member of the Greenville Elks Lodge #1139. He enjoyed showing Quarter horses and was a former 4-H advisor in Darke County. He loved to take drives in his Red Corvette. Most of all, he cherished his time with his family and friends.
Cork is survived by his wife of 44 years, Evelyn (Wert) Sharp of Greenville, whom he married March 9, 1973; his children and their spouses, Douglas Sharp, Bobbie (Dan) Nickell , Melissa Mitchell and Justin (Robin) Sharp, all of Greenville ; his grandchildren, Jacob Nickell, Zachary Mitchell, Wyatt Sharp, Samantha Nickell, and Roman Mitchell; his great grandson, Kayden Hemmelgarn; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Martha Sharp of Greenville and Pat (Roger) Curtis of Greenville; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bob (Barb) Wert, Greenville; his sister-in-law, Carla Simons of Greenville; his aunt, Mary Redmond of Greenville; and several nieces and nephews.
Family and Friends may visit on Friday, October 13, 2017 from 5-7 PM at Oliver Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville. The Greenville Elks will hold a lodge of sorrow starting at 6:45 PM.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at the funeral home with Rev. Terry Haworth officiating. Burial will follow in Greenville Cemetery.
