Virginia Mae (Baumgardner) Baker, age 85, of Ansonia, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at Rest Haven in Greenville.
She was born October 16, 1929 in Darke County, a daughter of the late Melvin and Geraldine (Gunckel) Baumgardner.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, John Baumgardner; and a grandson, Gary Carlin.
Virginia devoted her life to her family. She was a caring wife, loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening and playing cards with family and friends.
Virginia is survived by her husband, of 67 years, Ervin Baker whom she married August 16, 1947; 4 daughters, Barbara (Rodney) Teaford of Greenville, Linda (Joe) Magoto of Greenville, Joyce (Laurence) Carlin of Portland, IN and Terri (Kevin) Schlechty of Greenville; 11 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. She is also survived by 3 sisters, Boots Breaden of Greenville, Mary Whittington of Ansonia and Kay Camacho of Versailles; 1 brother, Ron Baumgardner of Greenville, and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Services will be held 11AM Monday, December 1, 2014, at the Oliver Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville. Burial will follow in the Abbottsville Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 5 – 7PM at the funeral home.
