Shirley A. (Ditty) Price (October 22, 2019)
Shirley A. (Ditty) Price, 71, of Rockford, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, October 22, 2019, at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima, Ohio.
She was born on October 29, 1947, in Greenville, Ohio to the late Lloyd and Naomi (Hittle) Ditty.
Shirley was a 1967 graduate of Greenville High School. She spent over 20 years working for Fram in Greenville. However, that is just a small tid-bit of who Shirley was and what she meant to her family and friends. Let’s begin with a few fond memories. Shirley made the best banana pudding, no-bake cookies, and made beautiful wedding cakes. She would take the children to the drive-in with a grocery bag full of popcorn, sweet tea, and those amazing no-bake cookies. Shirley had a heart of gold and always had the ability to make your troubles feel small. You could count on her to listen, never pass judgment, and would drop everything to be there for her children.
Shirley loved her family and all family functions. She would rarely miss any of her grandchildren’s events. She always made the holidays special and made sure everyone had a gift. It seemed she was happiest when she was with Marion and the kids. She loved to travel and visit. Distance was never an obstacle to her. She and Marion enjoyed going out to eat, she loved her luncheons with her sisters, and the shopping trips with her daughter and granddaughter. She had a special spot for all her grandchildren. She loved camping, especially at the Great Darke County Fair, and she loved her morning coffee. Many will miss Shirley for the reasons mentioned here, but for her family, it will be those hugs… the warmest hugs you could imagine, that will be missed the most.
Shirley is survived by her husband of 52 years, Marion Price, whom she married on June 10, 1967; her children, Kimberly Green and her husband, Carl, of Rockford, Scott Price and his wife, Kelli, of New Madison, Ohio, Chad Price and his wife, Monica, of Vandalia, Ohio, and Jeremy Price of Greenville; her grandchildren, Carl Green III and his fiancé, Chelsie King, Alexander Green and his wife, Jamie, Rachel Jackson and her husband, Jake, Logan Green, Jaden Green, Jorden Hart and her husband, Jared, Dylen Price and his wife, Riley, Chassica Price, Thomas Price, Johneth Price, Cooper Price, Connor Price, Breanna Christy, Danielle Christy, Brayden Price, and Kaitlyn Rockwell-Price; her great grandchildren, Sophia, Rylen, Charliegh, Brecklen Hart, and Evelynn Charleston; her siblings, David Ditty of Greenville, Barbara Back and her husband, Donald, of New Madison, Duane Ditty of Greenville, Donald Ditty and his wife, Cindy, of Greenville, and Carol Garland and her husband, Todd, of Greenville.
A celebration of life will take place at 10:00 AM on Friday, October 25, 2019, at Tribute Funeral Homes, Greenville Campus with Rev. Eric Fee officiating. Burial will follow in Greenville Township Memorial Gardens.
Guests may visit with the Price family on Thursday, October 24, 2019, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the funeral home.

Pauline Anna Marie (Sander) Willis (September 30, 2019)
Pauline Anna Marie (Sander) Willis peacefully met her Lord and Savior on September 30, 2019 at the age of 101 years and three days. Pauline was a lifelong member of Saint John Lutheran Church. She lived her entire life in Darke County, most recently as a resident of the Brethren Retirement Community.
She was preceded in death parents, Fred and Minnie (Grote) Sander; her husband of 53 years, C. Emerson Willis (d.1992) ; her oldest son and his wife, Don and Patricia Willis; brothers Lester Sander and Richard Sander and sister-in-law Doris Sander.

Pauline was a gentle soul with a sense of humor and an infectious laugh, but above all, she was a caregiver her entire life. She lived a life of service to her family and others. She dropped out of school after the eighth grade to help her mother on the family farm. She married Emerson and during the Second World War she commuted to NCR in Dayton and worked as a final assembler and inspector of bomb sights. When Emerson became a Marine and was fighting in the Pacific, she and her son moved back to her parent’s farm.
Following the war Pauline settled on a small farm west of Greenville to raise her growing family. She was active the Farm Bureau and her children’s activities. She worked for a time as a caregiver at the Rest Haven Care Facility before leaving to help her husband run the Willis 502 Market.

Pauline was an independent spirit into her final years. She could cook, paint, tend to her flower gardens, lay carpet and upholster furniture. She drove a car well into her nineties and managed her own finances. Despite her loss of mobility in later years, she found ways to live in and maintain her home.
