Ethel A. (Hollinger) Irwin age 84 of Greenville passed away at 1:30 P.M. on Wednesday, August 19, 2009 at Rest Haven Nursing Home in Greenville. Ethel was born March 14, 1925 in Darke County, Ohio, to the late George Hollinger & Esther (Cable) and Foster Riffle.
Ethel was a homemaker. She loved spending time with her family and friends. In addition to her parents, Ethel is also preceded in death by a grandson, Benjamin Hollinger; brother, George (Dutch) Hollinger and a sister, Gloria Ruble.
Ethel is survived by her husband of 58 years, Donald Irwin; son and daughter-in-law, Richard (Joby) & Rocksand Hollinger of Greenville; daughters & son-in-law, Linda Cook of Georgia and Debbie & Jimmy Bain of Greenville; grandchildren, Pennie & Troy Gasper of Ansonia, Dusty & Allison Laux and Joey & Amy Laux of Georgia, and Jessica & Aaron Kimmel of Greenville; great grandchildren, Whitney & Wyatt Gasper, Jonah, Sam, Allison, Kenzie and Cammie Laux and Tori, Landen and Logan Kimmel; sister, Jane Riegle of Greenville and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville with Rev. Terry Haworth officiating. Burial will follow in St. John Lutheran Church Cemetery in Greenville. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to Rest Haven Nursing Home or State of the Heart Hospice with envelopes available at the funeral home.
