Alice Jean Wagner, 87, formerly of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, October 31, 2009 at 4:32 PM at Sunrise of Englewood, Englewood, Ohio. She was born on July 1, 1922 in Darke County, Ohio to the late H. Verl & Mary (Niswonger) Wright.
She was a member of the Greenville Church of the Brethren and a former member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and Eastern Star.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Ralph R. Wagner whom she married on April 12, 1941.
She is survived by daughters and sons in law; Beth & Gary Ehlinger of New Carlisle, Ohio and Gail & Forrest Cope of Clayton, Ohio, grandchildren; Tom (Valerie) Cope, Mike (Kim) Cope, Danielle (Justin) Cope-Pettibone, Matthew (Amy) Ehlinger and Nathan (Melissa White) Ehlinger, 11 great grandchildren, sisters and brother in law; Thelma Studebaker of New Carlisle, Ohio Kay & Dick Weherley of Englewood, Ohio as well as several nieces and nephews.
There will be a service held on Wednesday, November 4, 2009 at 2:00 PM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio with Pastor Ron Sherck officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenville Cemetery. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be given to the State of the Heart Hospice.
