Maurice VonWihl, 84, of Greenville, passed away Tuesday evening, November 3, 2009 in Greenville.He was born in Elizabeth, KY, son of the late John VonWihl and Rosa (Putz) VonWihl. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Beatrice Mae VonWihl.
Maurice was a bartender for the American Legion. He attended Greenville High School until he entered the Army where he served in the Pacific during WWII.
He is survived by his daughter, Angela Skiles of Greenville; a son Mark Copp; a sister Jeanette "Tootsie" Jenkinson in addition to grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A public graveside service will be held at the Greenville Cemetery Saturday, November 7 at 10:30 a.m. with Father White officiating.
There will be no public visitation. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to St. Mary's Catholic School.
Services have been entrusted with the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville.
