Jerome B. “Jerry” Heitkamp, age 85 of Versailles, Ohio passed away on Wednesday October 26, 2011 at 1:55 AM at Versailles Health Care Center, Versailles, Ohio. He was born March 29, 1926 in Maria Stein, Ohio the son of the late Leo & Clara (Bills) Heitkamp. He was a farmer.
He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus, lifetime member of NFO, past member of the Versailles & Minster Eagles, past member of the Farmers Union, & past board member of Minster Farmers CO-OP.
He is preceded in death by his parents; 3 infant grandchildren; Brother: Edgar Heitkamp; Sisters: Dorina Rindler, Evelyn Kahlig, Edna Kahlig; Brothers in law: John Dircksen, Tom Niekamp.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years Mary Ann (Hilgefort) Heitkamp of Versailles whom he married June 9, 1948; Children & spouses: Theresa & Mike Fullenkamp of Fort Recovery, Ohio, Carol & Carl Evers of St. Henry, Ohio, Barb & Bruce Batty of Tipp City, Ohio, Leo & Kathy Heitkamp of Versailles, Ohio, Diana & Dave Hartke of Coldwater, Ohio, Linda & Dale Fleck of Chickasaw, Ohio, Rick & Margie Heitkamp of Versailles, Ohio, Gary & Denise Heitkamp of Versailles, Ohio, Jerry Heitkamp of Versailles, Ohio; 31 Grandchildren; 14 Great Grandchildren; Brother & sister in law: Othmar & Pat Heitkamp of Minster, Ohio; Sisters & brothers in law: Anna Marie Dircksen of Minster, Ohio, Luella & Melvin Rindler of Celina, Ohio, Marietta & Audrey Monnin of Botkins, Ohio; Brothers in law: George Kahlig of Coldwater, Ohio, Greg Kahlig of Coldwater, Ohio; Sister in law: Rosie Heitkamp of Coldwater, Ohio; numerous nieces & nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday October 29, 2011 at 10:30 AM at St. Denis Catholic Church 14 E. Wood Street, Versailles, Ohio with Rev. Fr. David Vincent Celebrant. Burial will follow in Holy Family Cemetery, Frenchtown, Ohio. Family will receive friends from 2:00 to 8:00 PM on Friday October 28, 2011 and from 9:00 to 10:00 AM on Saturday October 29, 2011 at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home, Versailles, Ohio.
