James M. Hayes, 85 of Greenville, Ohio passed away on Wednesday November 6, 2013 at 8:30 AM at Versailles Health Care Center, Versailles, Ohio. He was born February 9, 1928 in Middletown, Ohio the son of the late Clair & Alice (Hillard) Hayes.
He worked as a Foreman at AK Steel in Middletown for 41 years and he was a carpenter. He served in the United States Army.
He was a member of Ansonia United Methodist Church; Greenville American Legion.
He is preceded in death by his parents; sister: Martha Wright; brother: Richard Hayes in infancy.
He survived by his wife: Virginia R. (Miller) Hayes of Greenville whom he married March 21, 1953; sons & daughters in law: Thomas & Jodell Hayes of Dublin, Ohio, Daniel & Colleen Hayes of Greenville, Michael & Vicki Hayes of Cape Coral, Florida; 11 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; brother: Donald Hayes of Lebanon, Ohio.
Graveside services will be held on Friday November 8, 2013 at 1:00 PM at Woodside Cemetery 1401 S. Woodside Blvd., Middletown, Ohio with Pastor Ron Hoeksema officiating. There will be no visitation. Arrangements are being handled by Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association Miami Valley Chapter 31 W.
