Joan Kay Gigandet, 73 of Versailles, Ohio passed away on Tuesday April 19, 2016 at 4:43 PM at the Cleveland Clinic. She was born June 17, 1942 in Darke County, Ohio the daughter of the late William & Bonnie (Huber) Harman. She was a homemaker and a member of the Versailles Women of the Eagles, & the Vets Club.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Jerome L. “Jerry” Gigandet; brother: Allan Harman; brothers in law: Norman & Robert Gigandet.

She is survived by her children & spouses: Denise & Tim Shimp of Versailles, Bonnie & Marion Grillot of Versailles, & Bradley Gigandet and special friend Penni Unger of Versailles; grandchildren & spouses: Mallory & Ben Schmitmeyer, Kristen & Josh Brandon, Jeffrey Grillot & fiancée Aubrey McKenzie, Natalie Grillot, Jared Grillot, Franklin Shimp, & Chad Shimp; 5 great grandchildren; sister: Jean Hartzell; sisters in law & spouses: Shelia & Jim Didier, Karon & Lyle Crowell, Myrna Gigandet, & Judy & Jerome Harman-Tolle; brother in law & spouse: George & Evelyn Gigandet; numerous nieces & nephews.

Herman J. Smith (April 20, 2016)

Herman J. Smith age 93, of Versailles, Ohio passed away at 8:18 A.M. on Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at Upper Valley Medical Center in Troy. Herman was born March 16, 1923 in Versailles, Ohio to the late Raymond & Anna (Marchal) Smith.

Herman is survived by his wife, Virginia I. (Weaver) Smith whom he married August 20, 1949; children, Cheryl & John Goubeaux of Versailles, Marcia & Gary Davidson of Versailles and Duane & Georgette Smith of Versailles; grandchildren, Tracy & Neil Ranly, Brian Hemmelgarn and Jason & Lori Hemmelgarn; step-grandchildren, Brian Coppess, Brad Coppess, Jeffrey & Tina Davidson and Lori & Wes Grover; great-grandchildren, Alexis, Mason and Taylor; step-great-grandchildren, Landon, Ethan, Kaitlyn, Parker, Melina and Blake; brother & sister-in-law, Cyril & Jo Ann Smith of Union City, Ohio; sister, Anna Jean Wooten of Greenville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Herman was also preceded in death by his brothers, Ronald, Francis, Willard, Edgar and Norbert Smith; and sisters, Ruby Fullenkamp, Eileen Watercutter, Cecelia Young, Edna Wilt and Bernadine Deagle.

Herman served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He formerly co-owned Versailles Hi-Speed Oil & Gas from 1947 to 1950. Herman retired from Monarch in Sidney where he was a machinist from 1951 to 1991. Herman was a member of St. Denis Catholic Church in Versailles; a life member of the Versailles V.F.W. post#3849 and member of the Versailles American Legion Post#435.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, April 23, 2016 at St. Denis Catholic Church in Versailles with Rev. Fr. James Simons celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Valbert Cemetery in Versailles with military honors conducted by the Versailles Veteran’s Honor Guard. The family will receive friends on Friday from 3:00 to 7:00 P.M. and Saturday morning from 9:00 to 10:00 A.M. at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home in Versailles. Jewel E. Keel, 88 of Union City, Ohio passed away on Monday April 18, 2016 at 2:52 PM at the Union City Care Center, Union City, Ohio. She was born June 3, 1927 in Knox County, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Earl & Onie May (Timmons) Wright. She was a homemaker.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Noah B. Keel Jr.; daughter: Karen Jackson; brother: Robert Wright; sister: Molly Annette Siciliano.

She is survived by her children & spouses: Chuck & Shree Keel, Phillip R. & Glenna Keel, Janice & Terry Byrd, Linda Stewart, Debbie McCubbin, Mike & Becky Keel, Bobby & Cindy Keel, Jerry Keel; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren & great great grandchildren; sisters: Patricia Giuntoli, Trula Knapczyk, Sharon Belvedere; brother: Ronnie Wright.

Joann Marie Emrick, age 70, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Friday, April 15, 2016 at 6:00 PM at her residence. She was born on November 30, 1945 in New Madison, Ohio, to the late Charles & Marie (Hawkey) Lutz.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Richard Lee Emrick of Greenville, Ohio, whom she married on January 15, 1965; daughter, Jodi Mathews of Brookville, IN; son, Rodney Emrick of Greenville; grandchildren, Brittany Mathews and Zachary Mathews and great grandchildren, Jared Mathews and Hailey Mathews Johnsons all of New Madison; brother, Jim Lutz of Greenville; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Clarence Lutz and Richard Lutz.

Joann enjoyed computers, gardening and biking.

There will be a memorial service held on Monday, April 25, 2016 at 3:00 PM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio, with Rev. Dennis Shipley Jr. officiating. There will be a private graveside service held at the convenience of the family at Greenmound Cemetery, New Madison, Ohio.

Gloria "Sue Sue" Chamberlin (April 17, 2016)

Gloria "Sue Sue" Chamberlin, age 56, of Hollansburg, OH, passed away, Sunday, April 17, 2016 at Wayne Healthcare in Greenville.

She was born Saturday, February 27, 1960 in Sidney, OH, a daughter of Marie (Stephens) Bradley and the late Robert Bradley. In addition to her father, Gloria was preceded in death by her sister, Debbie Bradley

Gloria was a devoted wife and loving mother. She was an avid crocheter, most everyone has something she made. Gloria worked alongside her husband installing drywall until she retired. "Sue Sue" loved her family, and will be sadly missed.

Gloria is survived by her Husband Jim Chamberlin, whom she married on February 2, 1982; her daughter, Tia (Josh Knox) Pennycuff of Hollansburg, OH; mother, Marie Bradley of Sidney, OH; and her brother, Joe(Betty) Bradley of Anna, OH.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, April 22, 2016 at Oliver Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville with Pastor John Butts officiating. Burial will follow in Pearl Cemetery in Swanders, OH.

Peggy Ann (Cruze) Anthony age 79, of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 6:00 A.M. on Sunday, April 17, 2016 at her residence. Peggy was born November 2, 1936 in West Manchester to the late Roy Alvin & Marcella Marie (Niswonger) Cruze.

Peggy is survived by her sons & daughter-in-law, Gregory Leas of Greenville and Robert & Jeanette Leas of Greenville; grandchildren, Alissa Leas, Michael R. Leas, Tyler Leas, Israel Leas and Robert G. Leas; great-grandchildren, Conner Leas, Michael R. Leas Jr., Makayla Leas and Sawyer Leas; brothers, Jim Cruze of Camden and Duane Cruze of Eaton; sister, Janet Stover of Eaton; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Peggy was also preceded in death by her husband, Dale Anthony; son, Douglas Leas; brothers, Robert, Richard and David Cruze; and sisters, Joan Cruze, Shirley Marshall and Patty Cressell.

Peggy formerly worked at the Hallmark Shop in Downtown Greenville. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Greenville and the Eaton American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.

Phyllis J. Ross-Baldschun, age 84 of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 7:05 AM Monday April 18, 2016 at Rest Haven Nursing Home Greenville, Ohio. Phyllis was born December 14, 1931 in Wayne County Indiana and the daughter of the late Fred and Tacy (Powell) Longfellow.

She had worked 5 years at Wayne Hospital of Greenville and had spent her entire adult life working on the farm and watching her grandkids.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her 1st husband Robert E. Ross; 2nd husband Kenneth Baldschun; son Ronald C. Ross; sisters Cleona Willis and Eileen Cotter; brothers Robert, Donald E. and Maurice “Bud” Longfellow.

Phyllis is survived by her daughter Vickie (Terry) Rogers of Greenville; grandchildren Chris (Tammi) Ross, Amy (Doug) Whittington, Justin (Tammy) Rogers and Nathan (Cubby) Rogers; great grandchildren Ashley (Chris) Gaynor, Alicia Ross, Tanner Ross, Paige Ross, Alex Rogers, Kolby Rogers, Claire Rogers and Conner Rogers; sister Doris Brandon of Greenville; sister in law Rosie Longfellow of Greenville; brother in law Joe Armstrong of Greenville as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Doris Ann (Wampler) Siders Gray (April 16, 2016)

Doris Ann (Wampler) Siders Gray, age 87, of Greenville, OH, passed away, Saturday, April 16, 2016 at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton.

She was born Monday, July 2, 1928 in Greenville, OH, a daughter of the late George and Mary (Taylor) Wampler.

In addition to her parents, Doris was preceded in death by her first husband Frank Siders, who passed away in 1971; her second husband John Gray, who passed away in 1983; 2 children, Brice Siders and Bruce Siders; and her brother, George Wampler.

Doris was a member of the Greenville Moose for over 30 years. She was a member of the Greenville Eagles and Greenville American Legion. Doris loved to travel and devoted her life to her family. She adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Doris is survived by her children, Brent (Sharon) Siders and Brian (Joyce) Siders, both of Greenville, OH; 11 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, April 21, 2016 at Oliver Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville with Rev. Peter Menke officiating. Burial will follow in Greenville Township Memorial Gardens in Greenville.

Yeomans of Greenville; grandchildren, Jason & Teresa Cheadle, Troy & Nicole Yeomans, Angie Yeomans, April & Charles Raby, Mark & Renee Yeomans, Sheena Marie Yeomans and Kaylee M. Banks; 12 great-grandchildren; sisters & brothers-in-law, Mary & Larry Ray of Ithaca, Glenna & Robert Bruner of Arcanum and Barb Rice of Ithaca; brother & sister-in-law, Dick & Norma Hoover of Ithaca; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Hazel was a retired office manager. She was a former member of the Arcanum Order of Eastern Star.

Larry Howell age 77, of New Paris, Ohio passed away at 2:28 A.M. on Friday, April 15, 2016 at his residence. Larry was born December 19, 1938 in Celina, Ohio to the late Lewis & Mary (Webb) Howell.

Larry is survived by his wife of 58 years, Gloria (Boomershine) Howell whom he married December 28, 1957; children, Michael & Toni Howell of Greenville, Debi & Rick Hoskins of Greenville, Scott & Deanne Howell of Wayne Lakes and Chris Howell of New Paris; grandchildren, Stephen Howell, April Sullivan, Nick Hoskins, Lynette Denlinger, Ryan Howell, Shelley Hoskins and Travis Cresap; 10 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Bill Boomershine; sisters-in-law, Edith Howell, Kay Turner and Jane Koger; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Larry was also preceded in death by a grandson, Nathan C. Howell; and brother, Jerry E. Howell.

Larry retired from driving truck and farming, he hauled milk for over 30 years.

Carlos Eugene Trueblood, age 30, of Ansonia, OH, passed away, Thursday, April 14, 2016 at his residence

He was born Monday, January 27, 1986 in Lafayette, IN, a son of Brien and Kathy (Rearick) Hiestand.

Carlos was preceded in death by his brother Jason S. Rearick; and his grandparents, Edgar Rearick and Hazel Johnson and his dear friend, Brian Chad Ostendorf.

Carlos loved to read, write and listen to music. V.C. Andrews was his favorite author. He had a wonderful sense of humor and could make anyone laugh. Carlos had an out-going personality and could make friends anywhere he went. Carlos loved Halloween and scary movies. There is no one in this world like Carlos... "are you mad at me?"

Carlos is survived by his parents Brien and Kathy Hiestand; Austin Johns of Ansonia, OH; 2 sisters, Kimberly Denise Turner of Sidney, OH, and Kelly Hiestand of Greenville, OH; 2 brothers, Bub Hiestand of Ansonia, OH, and Tim (Caitlin) Hiestand of Ansonia,OH; aunts and uncles, Jenny, Jeff, John, Rawley; 6 nieces and nephews, Brittany, Dallas, Dustin, Matthew, Elijah and Ariel and a great on the way.

D. June King age 93, of Springboro, Ohio and formerly of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 2:08 P.M. on Thursday, April 14, 2016 at her son’s residence. June was born September 16, 1922 in Greenville to the late Edward & Mildred (Kress) Cashman.

June is survived by her daughter & son-in-law, Pam & Andre Brand of Springfield, Ohio; son & daughter-in-law, Jim & Karen King of Springboro, Ohio; grandchildren, Amy & Matt Hazelbaker, Andy & Pam King, Zac & Connie King and Jennifer Sizemore; 12 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Marlene Cashman of Centerville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, June was also preceded in death by her husband, Herbert “Hip” King on June 27, 2014 whom she married January 1, 1943; grandson, Nick Brand; and brother, Dale Cashman.

June was a bookkeeper at Fritz E. Martin Jewelers in Greenville for 13 years. June volunteered at Wayne HealthCare in Greenville for 30 years. She was a member of Alpha Delta Omega Sorority.

Charles Zora LaFuze (April 14, 2016)

Charles Zora LaFuze, age 79, of Ansonia, OH, passed away Thursday, April 14, 2016 at Randolph Nursing Home in Winchester, IN.

He was born Tuesday, May 5, 1936 in Castine, OH, a son of the late Ben and Myrtle (Stroub) LaFuze.

In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by two brothers, Von "Rusty" LaFuze and Raymond LaFuze; two sisters, Christine Lee and Joan LaFuze; and 4 grandchildren.

Charles was a tinkerer. He loved taking things apart and putting them back together. He could fix anything electrical or mechanical. Charles was an electrician and plumber and owned Ansonia Electrical and Plumbing for 40 years. Retired from Shrader's Tires in Greenville after over 20 years of service. He loved the Lord and was a friend to all.

Charles is survived by 5 children, Richard (Cheryl) LaFuze, FL, Joan Mangen, AL, Gary (Amy) LaFuze, Winchester, IN, Shirley (Greg) Wampler, Ansonia, OH, John (Carey) LaFuze, FL; 1 brother, Frederick Stanley, Muncie, IN; 3 sisters, Carol (Keith) Hazelrigg, TX, Phyllis Erkhard, VA, Joyce Rutter, Dawn, OH; 12 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 7:00 PM on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at the Oliver Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville with Pastor Monte Evans officiating. Burial will follow at a later date in Beamsville Cemetery.

Betty is survived by a son & daughter-in-law, Robert & Tammy Meyers of Greenville; daughter, Jane Bannon of Dayton; 3 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Betty was also preceded in death by her husband, Raymond E. “Ray” Meyers on January 14, 2014 whom she married February 6, 1954; and sisters, Gladys Thomas, Dorothy Ferguson, Pauline Canan and Mary Brown.

Betty retired as a traffic controller in 1986 from Fram Corporation in Greenville where she had worked for 25 years. Betty attended the EUM Church in Greenville.

Lorelei B. “Loree” Phillips age 61, of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 7:32 A.M. on Monday, April 11, 2016 at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton. Loree was born April 30, 1954 in Piqua.

Loree is survived by her husband, Chris Phillips whom she married June 1, 2009; brother & sister-in-law, Brad & Kathryn (Henby) Brown of Trotwood; and by two sisters.

Loree was a retired nurse. She was a member of the Greenville Moose and Greenville American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.

Robert M. “Bob” Coppock age 90, of Greenville and formerly of Ansonia passed away at 12:40 P.M. on Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at the Brethren Retirement Community in Greenville. Bob was born May 8, 1925 in Greenville to the late Harry & Forrest (Snyder) Coppock.

Bob is survived by his daughters & sons-in-law, Sue & Larry Rainey of Eaton and Paula & Dennis Moody of Ansonia; grandchildren, Sarah Rainey of Cincinnati, Ashley (Moody) Gilpin & husband, David of Arcanum and Robby Moody & wife, Ashley (Fraley) of Ansonia; great-grandchildren, Moxon Gilpin, Haddie Gilpin and Atalie Moody; sister, Phyllis Brumbaugh of Greenville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline (Winterrowd) Coppock on April 4, 2014 whom he married May 28, 1949; granddaughter, Emily Rainey; brother, Jake Coppock; and sister, Ruby Boldman.

Bob retired after 40 years from Walls Bros Asphalt Company in Greenville. After retirement, Bob mowed grass for Brown Township and pumped gas at Moody’s Auto Sales in Ansonia. Bob was a member of the Ansonia United Methodist Church.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville with Pastor Ron Hoeksema & Pastor Todd Reish officiating. Charles E. Colvin (April 11, 2016)

Charles J. Colvin "Charlie the mailman", age 70, of Greenville, passed away, Monday, April 11, 2016 at his residence.

He was born in Dayton, Ohio a son of the late George and Eloise (Schofield) Colvin.

Charlie was preceded in death by his parents and an infant son, Christopher Colvin.

Charlie was a member of the First Assembly of God since 1976. He was on the praise and worship team and worked in the sound room. He also loved spending time fishing and boating at Lake Erie. Charlie had a deep love for farming, and wished he had been able to do more. He loved spending time with his family and especially his great grandchildren. Charlie was a poor loser when it came to playing cards.

Even though Charlie was a bilateral amputee, he strived to live life to the fullest. He made quite an influence to his family, friends, and community.

Charlie is survived by his Wife of 39 years, Shirley M.(Broughman)Colvin whom he married November 27,1976; a son and daughter-in-law, David and Mary Colvin of Seabec, Washington; three daughters and sons-in-law, Kathleen and David Welby of Ft. Worth, Texas, Debbie(Marker) and David Anderson of Greenville, OH and Sharon(Marker) and Michael Cooper of Columbus, OH; ten grandchildren, Emily Colvin, Ashley Colvin, April Vansel, Nicole Burgess, Stephanie Wallace, Michael Anderson, Christopher Anderson, Myia Williams Miller, Leighann Williams Gigliotti, and Robbie Williams; 14 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; brother and sister in law, Patrick and Patricia Colvin of Miamisburg, OH; several other extended family members.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, April 18, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the First Assembly of God, 7219 St. Rt. 118 N. in Greenville with Pastor Dale Boeger officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery in Ft. Jefferson, OH. Family and Friends may visit on Sunday, April 17, 2016 from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM at the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home.

Michael Lee Crawford (April 1, 2016)

Michael Lee Crawford, age 30, of Plant City, FL, passed away, Friday, April 1, 2016 at South Florida Baptist Hospital in Plant City, FL.

He was born Wednesday, March 12, 1986 in El Paso, TX, a son of Brian and Sun (Baek) Crawford of Plant City, FL. Michael was preceded in death by his Grandfather C. Michael Crawford.

Michael was an avid fisherman and backyard gill master. He enjoyed all sports and was very athletic. Michael loved his family. His children were his life and he made it a point to spend as much time with them as possible.

Michael is survived by his Wife, Tonya Crawford, whom he married June 11, 2015. 2 Children, Gabriel Michael and Faith Marie Crawford; 1 brother, Richard William Crawford of Plant City, FL; Grandmother, Patricia (Richard) Crawford Grimes of Ansonia, OH.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 12:00 PM on Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at Assembly of God Church, 7219 118 North, Greenville, OH, with Pastor Dale Boeger officiating. Burial will follow in Greenville Township Memorial Garden.

Barbara J. Burns (April 10, 2016)

Barbara J. Burns, age 64, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, April 10, 2016 at 1:32 AM at Reid Hospital in Richmond, Indiana. She was born on September 15, 1951 in Greenville, Ohio, to Jeannette (Marshall) Burns of Greenville and the late Doyle Burns.

In addition to her mother she is survived by her son and daughter in law, Justin Lee & Holly Burns of Greenville; granddaughters, Hayley Lynn and Paige Lee Burns; siblings, Dennis & Carol Burns of Arkansas, Sharon & Duane Robbins of Hollansburg and Susan & Robert Hutzell of Falls Church, Virginia; aunt and uncle, Arlene & Keith Marshall of Greenville; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her father she is preceded in death by her sister and brother in law, Cindy & Michael Studabaker.

Barbara was a Licensed Practical Nurse for over 30 years. She worked at the Brethren Retirement Community, Sterling House in Greenville and Troy and most recently at the County Home. She loved playing cards and fishing. She was a 1970 graduate of Greenville High School and earned her Nursing Degree from Edison Community College Nursing School.

There will be a graveside service held on Thursday, April 14, 2016 at 2:30 PM at Palestine Cemetery, Palestine, Ohio, with Pastor Tony Price officiating. Family will receive friends on Thursday from 1-2 PM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio.

Mary Alice Rismiller (April 10, 2016)

Mary Alice Rismiller, age 72, of Ansonia, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, April 10, 2016 at 12:35 AM at AMG Specialty Hospital in Muncie, Indiana. She was born on December 14, 1943 in Greenville, Ohio, to Mary (Shell) Henning Baker Lane and the late John Henning.

In addition to her mother she is survived by her husband of 52 years, John William Rismiller of Ansonia, Ohio, whom she married on January 12, 1964; sons and daughters in law, Jeff & Janell Rismiller of Ansonia and Jerry & Neolita Rismiller of Garrett, IN; daughter and son in law, Jennifer & Brad Shook of Ansonia; grandchildren, Jacob, Jedd and Jeremy Rismiller, Hannah Rismiller, Mitchell, Marissa, Michael and Mason Shook; siblings, Leonard Baker of Greenville, Martha Everman, Bertha Archey and Wilma Flack all of Ansonia; sister in law and brother in law, Jodi & Dick Hufford of Versailles; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her father she is preceded in death by her brother Ralph Henning.

Mary retired in 2012 from Ansonia Schools as a Special Ed Teacher. She also worked at St. Mary’s School in Greenville, Bradford Schools, and taught computer classes at Edison Community College. She was the owner and operator of Chat & Curl Saloon in Ansonia and a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Greenville and the Motor Coach Association. She was a 1962 graduate of Greenville High School before attended Wright State University where she received a bachelor’s and master’s degree. She was a volunteer at Garst Museum, loved to read, sew, camp, travel and attend grandchildren activities.

There will be a service held on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at 10:30 AM at St. John Lutheran Church, Greenville, Ohio, with Pastor Don Bachman officiating. Burial will follow in the St. John Lutheran Church Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 12, 2016 from 5-8 PM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville as well as one hour prior to the service at the church.

Helen I. Werking (April 10, 2016)

Helen I. Werking, age 92, of Greenville, Ohio, and formerly of Beavercreek, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, April 10, 2016 at 12:30 AM at the Brethren Retirement Community, Greenville, Ohio. She was born on June 25, 1923 in Glouster, Ohio, to the late Clyde & Audrey (Norris) Vernon.

Helen is survived by her husband, Phil Werking of Greenville, Ohio, whom she married on June 14, 1952; daughter and son in law, Karen & Michael Burnett of Dayton, Ohio; 5 grandchildren; and several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her sister, Kathleen Wick.

Helen was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking and reading cook books. She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Greenville.

There will be a service held on Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the Church of the Nazarene, 7584 St. Rt. 118, Greenville, Ohio, with Pastor Wayne Thomas and Pastor Todd Reish co-officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenville Township Memorial Gardens, Greenville, Ohio. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at church. Barbara Ann Peeples (March 22, 2016)

Barbara Ann Peeples, age 58, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on March 22, 2016 at 2:05 PM at her residence. She was born on March 22, 1958 in Covington, Ohio, to Ronald G. Swartwout of Greenville, Ohio, and the late Elizabeth M. “Betty” (Birt) Swartwout.

In addition to her father she is survived by her son, Josiah Peeples of Camden, Ohio; daughters, Jackie Jones of Greenville and Pam Phillips of Gettysburg, Ohio; grandchildren, Mathue (Tiffany) Hammaker, Lucas Hammaker, Kierra Jones, Danial Phillips, Joshua Phillips and Jacob Phillips; great grandchildren, Leaha, Colt, Londyn, Marlie and Elijah; brother and sister in law, Randall Lee & Debra Swartwout of Eaton; sister, Beverly Pierce of Austin, TX; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her mother she is preceded in death by her husband, Dwight Keith Peeples and son in law, Jerry Phillips.

Barbara was a homemaker and a member of the Moose Lodge and EUM Church. She enjoyed arts and crafts but most of all enjoying being with her family.

Michael J. Schulze (April 3, 2016)

Michael J. Schulze, age 61, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away suddenly on April 3, 2016 in Florida while scuba diving. Mike had a life full of friends, family and passions. He was a graduate of Versailles High School in 1973, and a graduate of The University of Cincinnati in 1977. He spent his professional years as a Certified Public Accountant and Certified Financial Planner, retiring in 2014.

Mike loved riding his bike, reading, scuba diving, watching sports, hunting, traveling and most of all spending time with his family and friends.

He was also a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Greenville, Kiwanis of Cincinnati, a Board Member at Bears Mill and the previous Treasurer of Cancer Family Care of Cincinnati for 8 years.

Mike is survived by his wife Eileen (Buell) Schulze; daughter Jordon Schulze of Covington, Kentucky; step daughters, Katie (Mike) Fenstermaker and Emily (CJ) Jasenski; step son Stephen Maroudiss of California; grandchildren, Mikenzie and Micah Schulze; step grandchildren, Samantha (Fenstermaker) Cox, Mathew and Chloe Fenstermaker and Liam and Charles Jasenski; as well as numerous cousins, aunts and uncles.

Mike is preceded in death by his maternal mother Mary Geiler of Cincinnati, adopted parents Clarence “Pete” and Helen Schulze of Versailles and step mother Betty Schulze of Versailles.

There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held on Monday, April 11, 2016 at 2:00 PM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 233 West Third St., Greenville, Ohio, with Rev. Fr. John R. White celebrant. Sharon Elaine Jones, age 63, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at 6:02 PM at Kettering Medical Center, Kettering, Ohio. She was born on May 18, 1952 in Cincinnati, Ohio, to the late Fred & Ruth (Mitchell) Lockard.

She is survived by her children, Eva Maloney of Greenville, Joy Jones of Greenville, Christian Jones of Florence, KY, Cain (Brenda) Jones of Erlanger, KY, Amy Deshae Jones of Greenville, Ivy Amanda Jones of Greenville and Regina Rae Coulter of Greenville; grandchildren, James Maloney, Ariel Maloney and Tristan Rollins; great granddaughter, Meadow Maloney-Arrington; sisters, Cindy (Jerry) Meyers of Cincinnati, OH, and Cherie (Dennis) Willoughby of Burlington, KY; brothers, Fred Lockard and Brian Lockard; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Sharon was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Greenville. She loved life and most of all loved spending time with her family.

Carolyn Brock (April 7, 2016)

Carolyn Brock age 73, of Greenville, Ohio went to be with her Savior at 7:57 A.M. on Thursday, April 7, 2016 at State of the Heart Hospice Care Center in Greenville. Carolyn was born November 5, 1942 in Lafayette, Tennessee to the late John & Minnie (Archer) Gibson.

Carolyn is survived by her loving children, James L. Brock of Greenville, Julie & Sam Sponaugle of Bradford, Joy & Mike Tedore of Greenville, John Brock of Greenville, Lenny Brock & Jeannie of Greenville and Jill & Jimmy McAlpin of Greenville; loving grandchildren, Jimmy Brock, Lacey Wooten, Jenna Fleming, Michael Tedore, Chaz Tedore, Brittany Falknor, Tiara Tedore, Josh Brock, Christina Reed, Dalton McAlpin, Noah Reed, Lucas McAlpin and Chloe McAlpin; numerous great-grandchildren; brother, Roland Gibson of Greenville, South Carolina; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, Carolyn was also preceded in death by her husband, Leonard James Brock; grandson, Jared Tedore; sister, Freda F. Gibson; and brothers, Doc and Lee Gibson.

Carolyn retired from Fram Corporation in Greenville and was a member of the First Assembly of God in Greenville.

Carl Henry, Jr. (April 2, 2016)

Carl Henry, Jr., 80, of Union City, Ohio, passed away, Saturday, April 2, 2016 at Wayne Health Care in Greenville, Ohio.

He was born August 11, 1935 in Portland, Indiana, a son of the late Carl Ora Henry, Sr. and Opal (Stevens) Henry. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Veo (Rose) Henry; brother, Larry Henry; and sister, Darlene White.

Carl was a musician and played drums with many bands over the years. He had worked in several different factories and construction jobs. He was a member of the Elks in Portland, Indiana, and Greenville Eagles.

He was survived by his sons, Gary (Judy) Henry of Greenville, Ohio, and Tony (Rhonda Johns) Henry of Union City, Ohio; grandchild, Jason Leroy Henry; and brother-in-law, Dean White.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 12 PM on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at Ansonia Church of God with Pastor Dave Hackney officiating. Private burial will be in Teegarden cemetery.

Frances Maxine Baker (April 4, 2016)

Frances Maxine Baker age 98, of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 1:09 P.M. on Monday, April 4, 2016 at Heartland of Greenville. Maxine was born September 10, 1917 in Greenville, Ohio to the late John Frederick & Hazel Kathryn (Gerber) Ditmer.

Maxine is survived by her daughters & son-in-law, Christy Quinn of Bristow, Virginia and Carol & Gene McGuire of Englewood, Ohio; brother, Jerry Ditmer of Palm Bay, Florida; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren; and a large loving extended family.

In addition to her parents, Maxine was also preceded in death by her husband, Don D Baker; sons, Joe Baker and Ted E Baker; daughters, Sandra Pilcher and Mary Jean Kauffman; great-great granddaughter, Alaina; brothers, Charles, Bobby, Fritz, Jake and Don Ditmer; and sisters, Mary Helen Hathaway, Jean Bertram and Gayle Goodrich.

Maxine worked as a medical assistant for Dr. Paul Caris in Greenville and Dr. Robert Bertram in Delaware. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Greenville.

The family would like to thank the staff at Heartland of Greenville and Heartland Hospice for the care, compassion and respect given to Maxine. The family would also like to acknowledge the wonderful staff at Oakley Place where Maxine resided for 2 ½ years prior to moving to Heartland.

Maxine was loved for her gentle nature and admired for her green thumb. She always had the time for everyone and she especially enjoyed young people.

A private graveside service in Abbottsville Cemetery in Darke County, Ohio will be held at a later date. Zane Dwight Arnold (March 24, 2016)

Zane Dwight Arnold passed away on March 24, 2016 at Kettering Medical Center, Kettering, Ohio. He is the son of Paul & Erin (McIntosh) Arnold of Greenville, Ohio. In addition to his parents he is survived by paternal grandparents, Nathan & Cindy Arnold of Greenville, Ohio; material grandparents, Gary & Gloria McIntosh of Trenton, Ohio; maternal great grandparents, Winton & Barb McIntosh of Trenton, Ohio and Mary Knake of Trenton, Ohio; as well as aunts, uncles and cousins. Our little angel will never be forgotten.

Zane was preceded in death by his paternal great grandparents, Dwight & Zara Arnold and his maternal great grandparents, John & Esther Strausbaugh.

Otto D. Smith (April 1, 2016)

Otto D. Smith, age 86 of Bexley, Ohio passed away at 11:35 AM Friday April 1, 2016 at the Mount Carmel Hospital-East Columbus, Ohio. He was born April 27, 1929 in White Cottage, Ohio and the son of the late Oliver and Lillis (Geiger) Smith.

Otto was a Veteran serving in the U.S. Army from 1954-1956.

He graduated from college with his BS Degree in Agriculture Education in 1956 and later in 1965 with his Masters in Agriculture Education. Otto began his professional career as a Vocational Agriculture Teacher from 1956 until 1958, then worked as a Naturalist with the Columbus Metro Parks from 1958 until 1960 followed by a teaching position with the Columbus Public Schools from 1960 until 1988 at which time he began farming until just recently.

Otto was a 49 year member of the Capital City Lodge, the Aladdin Shrine and Scottish Rite. He sang with the Columbus Maennerchor, the Scottish Rite Choir and a soloist at the Central Presbyterian Church. His hobbies where nature, music and antiques.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers and sisters Wilbur Smith, Walter Smith, Roy Blair Smith, Viola Mae York, Charles Smith and Irene Kilmore Ufferman.

He is survived by his wife Marylouise Lindemuth Smith of Bexley. They were married Christmas Eve in 1960. Also numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday April 7, 2016 in the Greenville Cemetery Greenville, Ohio with Pastor Peter Menke officiating. There will be no public visitation.

Linda Kay Myers (April 03, 2016)

Linda Kay Myers, age 73, of Greenville, OH, passed away, Sunday, April 03, 2016 at Village Green in Greenville.

She was born Friday, January 01, 1943 in Ironton, OH, a daughter of the late Rev. Frank and Mildred (Spence) Malone.

In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her brother, Frank Malone.

Linda loved playing poker with her friends and family, listening to country music and spending time with her grandkids. She had a generous and kind soul and would often go out of her way to help someone in need. Linda was a member of the Eagles and held a state office, She was once a member of the Troy Country Music Association.

Linda is survived by her Husband, Donald Myers, of 21 years, whom she married December 24, 1994;a daughter, Kimberly Miller of Ansonia, OH; 2 grandchildren, Joe (Ashely) Miller, Jr. of Arcanum, OH, Krystal K. (John) Stewart of Ansonia, OH, 2 great grandchildren, Emmett and Abner Miller of Arcanum, OH; 3 sisters, Ceceilia (Ed) Slaughter of Ironton, OH, Rose Mary (Earl) Roach of Casstown, OH, and Marjorie (Ed) Brammer of South Point, OH.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, April 09, 2016 at Oliver Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville with Chaplin Candy Null officiating. Burial will follow at a later day.

Gene F. Richards (April 1, 2016)

Gene F. Richards, 89, of Hollansburg, Ohio, passed away peacefully on April 1, 2016, at The Oakley Place in Greenville. Gene was born on January 13, 1927, in Whitewater, Indiana to the late Amon and Letha (Sharrit) Richards.

Gene served his country honorably in the U.S. Army from July 1945 to October 1946 in World War II. He was a member of the Congregational Christian Church of Hollansburg. Gene retired as postmaster of Hollansburg after 29 years. He lived most of his life in Hollansburg.

In addition to his parents, Gene is preceded in death by his brothers, Amon Niles, Dickie, Jack, Gary, Billy and Steven and his sisters, Jane Weschke, Marylyn Kenworthy, Lois Arthur, and Janet Richhart.

Gene is survived by his sister, Joan Teaford Bennett of Oregon; two brothers and sisters in law, Danny and Wilma Richards and Tommy and Carolyn Richards all of Hollansburg; and many, many nieces and nephews whom he loved very much.

A celebration of life service will be held at the Congregational Christian Church of Hollansburg on Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at 10:30AM with Pastor Joe Hanna officiating. Family and friends may visit on Tuesday, April 5, 2016 from 5-7PM at the Braund Pope Funeral Home in New Madison. Burial will follow in the Hollansburg Cemetery. Elmer H. Price, 95 of Greenville, Ohio passed away on Friday April 1, 2016 at 9:40 PM at the Brethren Retirement Community. He was born June 29, 1920 in Liberty Township Darke County, Ohio. He is the son of the late Alba Robert & Lula M. (Phillips) Price. He was a farmer.

He graduated from Palestine High School he was in F.F.A.; & 4 H Club; he was a member of EUM Church in Union City, Ohio; & was a Township Trustee for several years.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his daughter: Michelle A. Ison; brothers: Earnest, & Gene Price; sister: Orpha Sayer.

He is survived by his wife: Thelma (Fike) Price of Greenville whom he married August 25, 1946; his son: Michael L. Price of Albion, Indiana; 6 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; brother: Willard Price of Union City, Indiana.

Services will be held on Wednesday April 6, 2016 at 10:30 AM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio with Pastor Todd Reish officiating. Burial will follow in Palestine Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Tuesday April 5, 2016 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to State of the Heart Hospice or American Diabetes Association.

Doris Virginia Marsh, 98 of Greenville, Ohio passed away on Thursday March 31, 2016 at 11:07 AM at her residence. She was born October 6, 1917 in Byesville, Ohio the daughter of the late Robert D. & Mary Alice (Strauch) Hare. She was a salesperson for Grays Jewelers.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Eastern Star of Bradford, Oder of the White Shrine of Greenville which she was a past officer; & Treaty City Homemakers.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her 1st husband: William C. Farra in 1945 who was M.I.A. in World War II; 2nd husband: Seren C. Marsh; grandchildren: Infant Shaffer, Richard L. Farra, & Kelli A. Holsopple; great great grandchild: Taylor Bronson; brother: Robert Hare; 1/2brother: William Hare

She is survived by her daughter: Judith A. Holsopple of Greenville; step daughters: Nancy L. (Robert) Shaffer of Lynchburg, Ohio, Carol A. (Glenn) Payne of Fairfield, Ohio; 19 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren & great great grandchildren.

Private graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family at Abbottsville Cemetery with Pastor Angela Meeks officiating. There will be no visitation. Leo G. Witwer (March 31, 2016)

Leo G. Witwer, age 91 of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 8:55 P.M. Thursday March 31, 2016 at the State of the Heart Hospice Care Center Greenville, Ohio. He was born July 29, 1924 in Darke County, Ohio and the son of the late Harley and Myrtle (Cassel) Witwer.

Leo was retired from Delco Products/General Motors of Dayton, Ohio in 1979 where he had been employed as an accountant.

He was a Veteran of W.W. II serving in the U.S. Army and a recipient of the Purple Heart. A member of the Oakland Church of the Brethren, former member of the Gettysburg School Board, Delco Products 25 year Club, former board member of the Darke County AAA, Darke County Jury Commission, Treaty City Shuffleboard Club, Greenville V.F.W., American Legion, Elks , Eagles and Moose Lodges. Also a 70 year member of the Gettysburg Masonic Lodge and a member of the Leisure Acre Park of Sebring, Florida.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Waldo Witwer.

Leo is survived by his wife Jeanne M. (Ruth) Witwer of Greenville. They were married April 12, 1947. Also his children Michael L. (Charlotte) Witwer of Huntsville, Georgina (Jim) Shahan of Englewood and Brian L. (Tammy) Witwer of Tipp City; grandchildren Andy (Katrina) Shahan, Jeff (Andrea) Witwer, Mollie Trupp, Sherry (Brian) Goss , Matthew Witwer, Michael Witwer and Megan Witwer; great grandchildren Kassie, Addison, Teddy, Wyatt, Landon, Waylon, Eve and Lily as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday April 9, 2016 in the Zechar Bailey Funeral Home Greenville, Ohio with Pastor Todd Reish and Pastor Bill Kidwell co-officiating. Burial will be held in the Gettysburg Cemetery. There will be Full Military Honors conducted by the Greenville Veterans Honor Guard on Saturday in the funeral home. The family will receive friends on Friday April 8, 2016 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM in the funeral home. The Gettysburg Masonic Lodge will conduct a Masonic Memorial Service on Friday at 7:30 PM in the funeral home.

Dennis McClurg (April 1, 2016)

Dennis McClurg, 64, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away Friday, April 1, 2016 at Wayne Health Care.

He was born March 24, 1952 in Greenville, Ohio, son of the late Mark and Velma (Bromagem) McClurg.

Dennis was a retired project engineer for Doss Business Systems and a member of Greenville Missionary Church. He was a 1970 graduate of Greenville High School.

He is survived by his wife, Christy (Kimmel) McClurg whom he married on July 8, 1995; his children, Rachelle and Scott Downing of New Madison, Sarah and Walt Veselka of Reedsville, WV, Mark McClurg and Susan Jones of Auburn, AL, Seth McClurg and Tahlisha Johnson of Athens, GA; step son, Brian Elliot of Muncie, IN; grandchildren, Alexandra, Madelyn and Meghan Downing, Flynt and Heath Veselka; step grandchildren, Kamen, Kayson and Kadan Elliot; sisters, Joyce Elaine Hayes of Greenville and Nadine Yvonne Sanders of Deltona, FL; father and mother in law, Don and Mary Loxley of Troy, OH; and several nieces and nephews.

James H. “Jim” Wilson (March 19, 2016)

James H. “Jim” Wilson, age 84, of Greenville, Ohio, and spent winters in Okeechobee, Florida, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at his residence in Florida. He was born on June 13, 1931 in Darke County, Ohio, to the late Damon & Helen (Halderman) Wilson.

He is survived by his son, Dennis Wilson of Greenville; daughter, Lynne Wilson of Greenville; grandson, Michael (Heather) Wilson; great grandchildren, Preston, Parker and Peyton all of St. Mary’s, Ohio; granddaughter, Kristy (JD) Leininger of Beavercreek, Ohio.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor “Ellie” Wilson; son, Michael L. Wilson; and brother, Thomas Wilson.

Jim was the owner and operator of Peoples Livestock and Wilson Brothers Livestock market in Greenville along with being a farmer his entire life. He was a member of the United States Navy serving in the Korean War on the U.S.S Taluga. He was a lifetime member of the Greenville Veterans club and an avid fisherman in Canada and Florida. Jim was inducted into the NTPA Hall of Fame in 2015 and loved spending time with his family.

There will be a graveside service held on Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at 1:00 PM at Greenville Cemetery, Greenville, Ohio, with Pastor Terry Haworth officiating. The Greenville Veterans Honor Guard will be conducting a Graveside Military Service. Arrangements are under the direction of Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville.

Richard Roy Rentz (March 31, 2016)

Richard Roy Rentz, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, March 31, 2016, at The Brethren Retirement Community. He was born on July 15, 1926, in Greenville, Ohio to the Carl Glander and Helen E. (Hickman) Rentz.

Richard was a 1944 graduate of Greenville High School. He also was a 1948 graduate from the Miami Ohio University. Earlier in his life, Richard had also attended St. Paul Lutheran Church in Greenville. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church where he sang in the choir for more than 20 years. In the middle of his life, Richard had lived in Englewood, Illinois. Vocal music and performing organ music were his pleasures in life.

In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his brothers, John H. Rentz and Robert C. Rentz.

There will be a graveside service on Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at 1:30 PM at the Greenville Union Cemetery, Greenville, Ohio with Pastor John Person officiating.

Barbara A. Young age 82, of Ansonia, Ohio passed away at 9:32 A.M. on Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at her residence. Barbara was born May 20, 1933 in Allen Township, Darke County to the late Grover Lee & Ethel Kathryn (Whittington) Lambert.

Barbara is survived by her son & daughter-in-law, Kerry J. & Julia Young of Greenville; daughter, Sherry L. Young & fiancĂ©, John Rossi of Gahanna; grandchildren, Jason & Jenay Young of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Kavan & Tonya Young of Cedarbluff, Mississippi, and Jessica & Justin Wofford of Steens, Mississippi; great-grandchildren, Jason “Jake” Young, Kirklyn Young, Abigail Young, Hayden Wofford and Logan Wofford; sister & brother-in-law, Sandra & Heinz Kraack of Piqua; nephews, Brian Kraack of Beavercreek and Michael Kraack of Boston, Massachusetts; beloved pets, Jack and Puss Puss; and many loving friends.

Barbara retired in 2000 from Master Industries in Ansonia. She was a graduate of Ansonia High School and a life member of the Greenville Eagles Ladies Auxiliary 2177. She loved and enjoyed her family and friends more than anything.

A celebration of Barbara’s life will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Monday, April 4, 2016 at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville with a Lodge of Sorrow conducted by the Greenville Eagles Ladies Auxiliary 2177. Ted E Baker (March 27, 2016)

Ted E Baker, 64 a 12 year resident of Heartland Nursing Home of Greenville, passed away on Sunday March 27, 2016.

Ted was preceded in death by his father Don D Baker, sisters Mary Jean Kauffman, and Sandy Pilcher and his brother Joe Baker.

Ted is survived by his mother Maxine Ditmer Baker, sister and brother in law Carol and Gene McGuire, and sister Christy Quinn.

Ted’s wonderfully magnetic personality was beloved by all who met him.

Ted will be missed during the 2016 July Ditmer reunion.

The family would like to thank his friends who shared their hearts and their families with Ted. The family would also like to thank Heartland Nursing Home and Heartland Hospice for the care, compassion and respect given to Ted.

Virginia R. Hatch (March 27, 2016)

Virginia R. Hatch, age 88 of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 8:35 AM Sunday March 27, 2016 at Heartland Nursing Home of Greenville. Virginia was born January 28, 1928 in Greenville, Ohio and the daughter of the late William Oscar and Rose Bertha (Henry) Grubb.

She retired in 1990 from Fram Corporation of Greenville following 33 years of employment and was a member of the Bible Fellowship Church of Greenville. Virginia loved to take care of her flowers, traveling across the United States with her late husband David, camping and reading.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband David R. Hatch in 1997; granddaughter Lisa Anderson in 1991 and brother Joe Grubb in 1977.

Virginia is survived by her children Kenneth (Margaret) Hatch of Union City, Ohio and Cheryl (Jack) Rader of Greenville; 4 grandchildren; 4 step grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and step great grandchildren; brother David (Betty) Grubb of Rossburg and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday March 30, 2016 in the Zechar Bailey Funeral Home Greenville, Ohio with Pastor Chris Cobb officiating. Burial will follow in the Miami Memorial Park Cemetery Covington, Ohio. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 1:00 PM until time of the services in the funeral home.

Larry Allen Bemis (March 24, 2016)

Larry Allen Bemis age 68, of Greenville, Ohio and formerly of Union City, Ohio passed away at 5:56 A.M. on Thursday, March 24, 2016 at Wayne HealthCare in Greenville. Larry was born February 7, 1948 in Union City, Indiana to the late Lowell & Mary (Wilcox) Bemis.

Larry is survived by his sister, Sharon Ault of Marysville, Ohio; nephews, Russell, Randy and Ronald; and a niece, Carol.

Larry served in the U.S. Army. Larry retired from Dickman Supply in Greenville and formerly worked at Dollar General in Greenville.

Jack Amspaugh (March 24, 2016)

Jack Amspaugh, also known as “Poppa Tiger”, 84, of Ansonia, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, March 24, 2016, at Pine Knoll Rehabilitation Center, Winchester, Indiana. He was born on August 13, 1931, to Albert “Jinx” and Hazel (Boyer) Amspaugh in Darke County, Ohio. He attended Ansonia High School, graduating in 1950 where he was involved in all sports available at that time.

Jack married Patricia (Whittington) Amspaugh on January 26, 1951, who preceded him in death in 2002. He retired from Frigidaire in 1983 after 30 years of service. After retirement Jack and Pat spent most of their time in Sturgis, Michigan, fishing, golfing and enjoying life. He worked odd jobs just to support his golf habit.

Jack was an active member of Ansonia Methodist Church, was a lifetime member of the Miami Valley Moose Legion 103 and was also active in the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Sturgis, Michigan. He was very involved with his community over the years but was best known as Poppa Tiger because of his involvement in the sports programs at Ansonia High School, especially the girls softball team, attending all games, home & away.

Jack is survived by his children, Susan (Ted) Boerger of Bradenton, Florida, and Larry (Anita) Amspaugh of Union City, Indiana, his grandchildren, Jeremy (Lisa) Boerger, Bill (Heather) Boerger & Amanda (Sam) Wise, A.J. (Heidi) Amspaugh & Kyle (Ashlee) Amspaugh, Jennifer (Neal) Gray and April (Steve) Billenstein, and 17 great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife, Patricia, he was preceded in death by his parents and his son, David Amspaugh.

There will be a memorial service for family and friends on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at 1 PM at the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio with Pastor Ron Hoesksema officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenville Township Memorial Gardens. Family will receive guest at the funeral on Tuesday from 11 AM to 1PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ansonia Athletic Boosters.
