Shelby Lynne Bey age 27, of Versailles passed away at 3:15 AM on Friday, November 16, 2018, in Versailles.
Shelby was born June 5, 1991, in Greenville to Jerry & Sundra (Wakefield) Bey III of Versailles and Michael Heaton of Russia. In addition to her parents, Shelby is also survived by her brothers, Bo Bey of Versailles and Cael Bey of Versailles; sister, Brett Bey of Versailles; maternal grandmother, Rita M. Wakefield of Versailles; paternal grandparents, Jerome & Bonnie Bey Jr. of Versailles; paternal great-grandmother, Loretta Bey of Versailles; and numerous aunts and uncles.
Shelby was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Vaughn G. Wakefield; maternal great-grandparents, Zeno & Julianna Brackman and James & Thelma Wakefield; paternal great-grandparents, Jerome F. Bey Sr. and Al & Ruth Hoelscher; aunt, Melissa Wakefield; and uncle, Daniel Wakefield.
Shelby worked at Briarwood Village in Coldwater where she was a STNA. She was a member of St. Denis Catholic Church in Versailles. She was a 2009 graduate of Versailles High School and in 2014 she received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree at Wheeling Jesuit University in Wheeling, West Virginia.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, November 24, 2018, at St. Denis Catholic Church in Versailles with Rev. Fr. Jim Simons celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Valbert Cemetery in Versailles. The family will receive friends on Friday from 2:00 to 8:00 PM and Saturday morning from 9:00 to 10:00 AM at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home in Versailles. Mary Helen Devor (November 12, 2018)
Mary Helen Devor, 79, of Greenville passed away on November 12, 2018 at Family Health in Greenville.
Mary was born on November 24, 1938 in Greenville to the late David and Zelma Smith. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, of 40 years, Jack Devor; her oldest son, Gary L. Devor; her daughter-in-law, Cynthia (Holden) Devor; and 4 sisters and 1 brother.
Mary is survived by her son, Pastor Randy (Becky) Devor of Greenville; two granddaughters, Shannen Carter and Sarah Devor; four grandsons, Corey, David, Michael, and Mark Devor; 6 great-grandchildren, 7 sisters, and 2 brothers. Mary will also be missed by her dear friend, Carl Francis and his family.
Mary has been a Greenville resident her whole life. As a teenager, she was working as a waitress when she meet her husband. In their retirement-years, Mary and Jack owned the Front Street Inn and worked there together for a few years. She also worked for many years at Replicap and Walmart. In later years, Mary and Carl enjoyed traveling, bargain-hunting and spending time with family. Mary also enjoyed fishing and attending church at Greenville Missionary Church.
A Memorial Service will be held at Noon on Friday, November 16, 2018 at Tribute Funeral Homes- Greenville Campus with Pastor Gary Oser officiating.

Dr. James A. "Jim" Moore, 67, of West Milton, passed away on November 11, 2018 at Hospice of Dayton.
He was born on January 13, 1951 in Richmond, Indiana, to Miriam (Alexander) Moore of New Paris and the late William A. Moore.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Joy (Hofacker) Moore, of West Milton, whom he married on June 22, 1974; his daughter and son-in-law, Jenna Moore and Andy Lewis of Indianapolis, Indiana; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Tom (Vicki) Moore and Bill (Jill) Moore all of New Paris, and Bob (Laura) Moore of Ludlow Falls, Ohio; his nieces and nephews, Tim (Nicki) Moore, Dan (Sarah) Moore, Brittani (Brad) Hampton, Brandon (Meggan) Moore, Brennan (Austin) Barrett, Ryan Moore, and Maggie Moore; and 10 great nieces and nephews.
Jim graduated in 1969 from Westmont High School; a 1973 graduate of Manchester College(University); 1975 graduate of Indiana State University; and 1986 graduate of Wright State University (School of Professional Psychology).
Jim was a very giving and helping man. He was active in numerous groups in the communities in which he served. He was involved in the West Milton and Salem Church of the Brethren, holding many leadership responsibilities. He was active in the Southern Ohio Church of the Brethren district activities including discipleship and reconciliation team and the district board. Jim spent time working for Dartmouth Behavioral Sciences Center, Darke County Mental Health, providing crisis debriefing at schools and to first responders, and most recently, Family Health. Jim loved to participate in singing groups. He sang with the Miami Shelby Barber Shop Society, Community of Song mens choral group and singing with his brothers in a quartet. Jim had a great zest for life and loved interacting and showing extraordinary love to all of his family, friends, and clients.
A celebration of Jim's Life will be held at 4 PM on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at Salem Church of the Brethren, 6037 Phillipsburg Union Road, Englewood, Ohio, 45322 with Pastor Lee Saylor officiating.

Eric M. Hughes, age 71 of Greenville, Ohio passed away at his home, on November 11, 2018 at 7:25 PM. Born in Greenville, Ohio on November 15, 1946 he was one of 3 children born to the late Joyce Emerson & Nettie Mae (Young) Hughes. Eric was a retired Police Chief for the city of Greenville, having served the community for over 27 years. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Greenville; Treaty City Motorcycle Club; and the Ohio Police Chief’s Association. Eric enjoyed doing many things throughout life, including riding motorcycles; racing motor cross; carpentry & woodworking and boating. More than anything he loved spending time with his family. He loved going to the grandchildren’s sporting events, Christmas celebrations (but not until after Thanksgiving) and he had a knack for giving “memories as gifts” which will be treasured forever. He will truly be missed. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his brother John Hughes.

Billy Printz, 79, of Zanesville, formerly of Greenville passed away at Genesis Hospital in Zanesville, Ohio on November 11, 2018.
Billy was born in Darke County on August 27, 1939 to the late Charles and Mary (Boyer) Printz. In addition to his parents, Billy was preceeded in death by his siblings; Darlene, Anthony and Donald, and his grandson Nicholas Batten.
Billy enjoyed many things; he loved the outdoors and all the land had to offer from gardening, hunting, fishing to even maintaining the family pool where so many memories were made. He worked for many years at Union City Body Company and went on to finish his career at True Value Hardware Company in Union City, Indiana. Billy was an active member of Teegarden Church. He was also a member of the NRA. He was a fun-loving man who enjoyed his family. One of his favorite things to do was tease the grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce (McCullough) Printz of 50 years, whom he married November 1, 1968. His children; Ronda Thompson of Portland, Oregon, William (Patricia) Printz of Ft. Jeanne E. Powell age 84, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away peacefully on November 11, 2018 at Suites of Walnut Creek, Dayton, Ohio. Jeanne was born July 24, 1934 in Greenville, Ohio, daughter of William Horace (Jack) and Mary Elizabeth (Renz) Keever.
She graduated from Greenville High School in 1952. Jeanne married John Stull Powell, February 14, 1953 and they recently celebrated 65 years of marriage this past year. Jeanne retired from America Aggregates in 1984.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, John, May 6, 2018, sisters and brother in laws Kathrine Mary (Kay) and (Robert) Soliday, Anne Marie and (Robert) Jones, Elsa Wilhelmina (Ralph) Pence.
Jeanne is survived by her loving children, daughter and son in law Dana Kathleen (Kathy) and Tedd Boomershine of Kettering, Ohio, son and son in law John Steven (Steve) Powell and Doug Wunsch of Columbus, Ohio, She is also survived by nieces and nephews and very dear and special friends Judy Munn, Elaine McMahan and Kay Seiler.

David C. “Dave” Magoto, age 90, of Versailles OH passed away late evening on Nov 7, 2018 at the Versailles Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.
Dave was born on Dec. 21, 1927 in Versailles, OH to the late Raymond “Frenchie” and Zita (Dapore) Magoto. He was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, Alice and Jim “Chick” Swisher; brother and sister-in-law, Dick and Dottie Magoto; brother, Tom Magoto Sr.; and sister, Julia Hiatt.
Dave is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Judy Magoto Versailles, and sister-in-law, Norma Magoto Greenville; and e is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Dave was a son, brother, uncle, great-uncle, godfather, father figure and friend to many people.
Dave was a graduate of Versailles High School. Following graduation Dave was a pitcher with the Lima Reds’ minor league baseball team and a team mate of Joe Nuxhall. He served in the Air Force division of the US Army as an air traffic controller. After service he graduated from Barber College and became co-owner with Percy Grilliot of The Hotel Barbershop for over 50 years. The barbershop was a well-known center for town gossip where Dave handed out lots of Bazooka bubblegum to the kids and created original nicknames for many. Dave was a well-known follower of Versailles High School sports. He enjoyed his garden, trap shooting, golf, riding his bicycle around town and was an avid Reds fan. He was a lifetime member of St Denis Catholic Church in Versailles.

Elsie M. Young, age 95 of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 10:58 PM Wednesday November 7, 2018 at the Brethren Retirement Center in Greenville. Elsie was born May 26, 1923 in Franklin Township Darke County, Ohio and the daughter of the late David L. and Edna (Kindell) Morris.
She was a homemaker, a 1941 graduate of Franklin High School and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Greenville.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Byron D. Young August 7, 1992; brothers Charles, Clarence, John, Herschel, Dale, Verl and Carl Morris and sister Catherine Greer.
Elsie is survived by sons David (Carol) Young of Boston, VA and Don R Young of Winchester, Indiana; grandchildren Mindy Branch of Virginia, Sarah Young of Oregon, Helen Bradburn of Florida and David Young of Ohio; 11 great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Byron D. Young August 7, 1992; brothers Charles, Clarence, John, Herschel, Dale, Verl and Carl Morris and sister Catherine Greer.
Elsie is survived by sons David (Carol) Young of Boston, VA and Don R Young of Winchester, Indiana; grandchildren Mindy Branch of Virginia, Sarah Young of Oregon, Helen Bradburn of Florida and David Young of Ohio; 11 great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday November 17, 2018 at the Zechar Bailey Funeral Home Greenville, Ohio with Pastor David Cummings officiating. Burial will follow in the Abbottsville Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday November 16, 2018 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM in the funeral home.

Jerald F. “Jerry” Paulus age 85, of Versailles passed away at 5:46 AM on Friday, November 9, 2018, at his residence.
Jerry was born November 1, 1933, in Russia, Ohio, to the late Francis H. “Frenchie” & Matilda “Tillie” (Wissman) Paulus. In addition to his parents, Jerry was also preceded in death by a son-in-law, John Kenneth McCoy; brother, Jim Paulus; sister, Shirley Ann Paulus; and a brother-in-law, John Butkus.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 61 years, Rose Mary (Herbon) Paulus whom he married November 17, 1956; children, Brenda McCoy of Greenville, David & Anna Maria Paulus of Texas, Dan & Sue Paulus of Minster, Robert & Jennifer Paulus of Versailles, Ann & Greg Forbes of Michigan, Andrew & Lisa Paulus of Versailles, Diane & Christopher Heeter of Dayton and Susan & Mark Clack of Versailles; 20 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Marge Paulus of Celina and Betty Butkus of Centerville; brother-in-law & sister-in-law, Pete & Carol Herbon of Vandalia; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Carlton "Sam" Strosnider, of New Weston, passed away on Thursday, November 1, 2018 at the age of 93.
He was born on October 22, 1925 in Winchester, Virginia to the late Ernest and Ruth (Hook) Strosnider. In addition to his parents, Sam was preceded in death by his step-father Albert Fishel; his wife, Melissa Strosnider; his son, Joe Strosnider; and his sisters, Clarice Strosnider and Helen Eley.
Sam is survived by his daughters: Susan DeRegnaucourt, Dixie Stone, Amy (Rob) Kozak, and daughter-in-law Mary Strosnider all of Ansonia, Ohio; 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great granddaughter.
Sam was an active member of Teegarden Congregational Christian Church, the American Legion Post 353 of Ansonia for 72 years, and a founding member of the Darke County Sheriff Patrol.
Sam was a rural mail carrier, a farmer, an outstanding bowler, an avid hunter, a pilot, and a great storyteller. Above all, he was a leader, a mentor, and a family man.
Family and friends may visit on Friday, November 9, 2018 from 3 PM to 5 PM at Teegarden Congregational Christian Church 2753 ST. RT. 47 W Ansonia, Ohio. Janice May “Hoblit” Baker, age 78 of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 7:57 PM Monday November 5, 2018 at Miami Valley Hospital Dayton, Ohio following an extended illness. Janice was born May 23, 1940 in Lewisburg, Ohio and the daughter of the late Orville and Sylvia (Schleiger) Hoblit.
Janice had been a student at Monroe High School finishing 10th grade. She was a homemaker and during the early 1980’s had worked part-time as a cook at Franklin Monroe Schools and later employed at Thayer Poultry of Pitsburg, Ohio.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter Teresa Hiestand Baker and three siblings Wilbur, Louise and Larry.
A loving wife, mother and grandmother, she is survived by her husband of 59 years Rev. Kenneth L. Bernard J. Frantz, Jr. age 72 of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 5:59 AM on Friday, November 2, 2018 at Wayne Hospital, Greenville, Ohio. Born in Piqua, Ohio on July 27, 1946 he was one of 11 children to the late Bernard J. Frantz, Sr. & Marie (Naber) Frantz. Bernard graduated from Versailles High School, was a United States Air Force Veteran & lifetime member of the American Legion and AMVETS in Greenville. For the past 17 years, he has been a cashier & friendly face at Kroger’s in Greenville. He was a self-declared “sports-aholic”, and avid Cleveland Browns Fan. He enjoyed golfing, playing darts & pool and had a love for animals. He will be truly missed. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by infant sister Ruth Ann: brother James Frantz: sister-in-law Helen Frantz.

Jonathan Peters Borgerding (November 3rd, 2018)
Jonathan Peters Borgerding was born in New Albany, Indiana on February 2nd, 1929 and took his final breath on November 3rd, 2018 in Troy, Ohio. Jonathan lived a humble life, a life full of service for others. Jonathan, known as “Jack” began working on a farm where he was raised running a team of horses. He was a 1st. Class Petti Officer Weather Forecaster for the Navy, spending time in Naples Italy. Jack met his lovely bride, Margaret Jane Ginley who went by “Peggy”, at a USO Dance. After six weeks they were engaged, they then married within six months and have danced through life together for over 64 years. They first lived in Texas while Jack went to school. Jack called Square Dances while in College. He gained his love of trains from working with the Railroad as a Fireman and Engineer; he prided himself in his collection of HO Scale Model Trains. He then started with the Airlines in Washington DC and eventually settled in Troy, Ohio while he worked with Trans World Airlines, whom he retired with. Jack along with his wife raised his family of seven children while taking in children who were in Foster Care. He always worked hard providing for his family, working a full day with the Airline and then performing others jobs from Deputy Sherriff to School Bus Driver. Jack became an Ordained Deacon in the Catholic Church beginning his tenure at Saint Patrick’s Church in Troy Ohio. He and Peggy moved to Nashville Tennessee as he continued with TWA while serving as a Chaplin for the Nashville Airport and as a Deacon at the Church of the Holy Rosary in Nashville. He then continued his Ministry as Deacon at Saint Denis Church in Versailles Ohio. Jack gave riveting sermons that came from his heart and when he sang, his voice was magnificent! His love of God and his love for his family were without parallel. Jack spent his final days surrounded by his family in worship and song!

Richard “Dick” Weherley, age 84 of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 1:53 PM Friday November 2, 2018 at the State of the Heart Hospice Care Center in Greenville. Dick was born August 22, 1934 in Miami County, Ohio and the son of the late Waldo and Thelma (Hunt) Weherley.
Dick was retired from the American Airlines working for them at the Vandalia Airport for 36 years. He loved horse racing and following in his father’s footsteps owned standardbred race horses. He was a member of the Darke County Horseman’s Association and in 2017 was the recipient of the “Horse of the Year” award. In addition to his love of horses he was an avid euchre card player and very much enjoyed attending many of the activities of his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was also a member of the Central Ave. Church of the Brethren in Greenville and a former member of the Happy Corner Church of the Brethren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law Barbara “Bobbie” and Dean Myers.
Dick is survived by his wife C. Kay (Wright) Weherley of Greenville. They were married September 20, 1952. Also children Steve A. (Karlene) Weherley, Luanne (Rob) Riber and Pamela S. (Mike) Swihart; 8 grandchildren; 6 step grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; sisters Linda (Dale) Hogenkamp, Kitty (George) Matt and Bonnie (Tom) Feitshans as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday November 6, 2018 at the Zechar Bailey Funeral Home Greenville, Ohio with Pastor Ron Sherck officiating. Burial will follow in the Mote Cemetery near Pitsburg. The family will receive friends on Monday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM in the funeral home.
It is the wishes of the family that Memorial Contributions be given to the State of the Heart Care Darke County, Ohio.

Dick was retired from the American Airlines working for them at the Vandalia Airport for 36 years. He loved horse racing and following in his father’s footsteps owned standardbred race horses.
