Eric M. Hughes, age 71 of Greenville, Ohio passed away at his home, on November 11, 2018 at 7:25 PM. Born in Greenville, Ohio on November 15, 1946 he was one of 3 children born to the late Joyce Emerson & Nettie Mae (Young) Hughes. Eric was a retired Police Chief for the city of Greenville, having served the community for over 27 years. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Greenville; Treaty City Motorcycle Club; and the Ohio Police Chief’s Association. Eric enjoyed doing many things throughout life, including riding motorcycles; racing motor cross; carpentry & woodworking and boating. More than anything he loved spending time with his family. He loved going to the grandchildren’s sporting events, Christmas celebrations (but not until after Thanksgiving) and he had a knack for giving “memories as gifts” which will be treasured forever. He will truly be missed. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his brother John Hughes.

Survived by his wife of 35 years, Cheryl (Drew) Hughes: daughters Brenda Kay & Rick Horne; Teresa Mae & Rob Chiappone; Doris Jean & Cliff Rapier; Angela Marie & Shane Coby; Ronda Renee’ & Jonathon Wilson; Bethany Anne & Scott Sherwood: sister Doris & Duane Sander: grandchildren Joshua & Jessica Morgan; Justin Morgan; Kelsey King; Kim Stice; Kailee & Troy Bush; Mason Coby; Ava Coby; Jonny Wilson; Breeanna Wilson; Ashlynn Wilson; Drew & Haley Petry; Laura Lewis: 8 great-grandchildren: as well as many more family members and friends.

Friends may call on the family from 6:00-8:00 PM on Thursday, November 15, 2018 at the Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio. Funeral services on Friday, November 16, 2018 at 10:00 AM at the funeral home with Pastor Tony Price presiding. Burial to be announced at a later date. Online condolences at www.zecharbailey.com.
