Kaylah “Kale” Loy, 26 of Ypsilanti, Michigan, formerly of Arcanum, Ohio, passed away on Friday, March 15, 2019.
She was born on October 31, 1992 in Dayton, Ohio to Mark (Amy) Loy of New Madison, Ohio and Cherolet (Robert) Hutcheson of Arcanum, Ohio.
Kaylah was preceded in death by her grandparents, Robert Loy, Angela Enicks, and Carroll Puckett; and her beloved dog, Cosmo.
She was a 2011 graduate from Arcanum High School. After high school, she joined the Columbus Culinary Institute where she earned an associate degree in Culinary Arts. Kaylah had a love for cooking and participating in food carving, where she was the president of the carving club. In 2012, she was able to compete at the Ohio State Fair in food carving. When not in the kitchen, you could find Kaylah outdoors. She loved animals, hiking, running, and taking road trips. Kaylah was a 10-year member of the Doggone Kids 4-H Club where she exhibited her dog.
In addition to her parents, Kaylah is survived by her partner, Faelin Landy of Ypsilanti, Michigan; her siblings, Cerah (Christopher) Dugan of New Madison, Makennah Hutcheson of Arcanum, Erykah Hutcheson of Arcanum, and Robert A. Hutcheson of Richmond, Indiana; her grandparents, Ruth Loy of Arcanum, David Enicks of Greenville, Carol Palmer of Richmond, and Robert and Mary Beth Hutcheson of Arlington, Ohio; and her numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A celebration of Kaylah’s life will take place at 4:00 PM on Sunday, March 24, 2019 at Tribute Funeral Homes, Greenville Campus with Rev. Eric Fee officiating.
Guests may visit with Kaylah’s family on Sunday from 2:00 PM until time of service at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be given in memory of Kaylah to the Darke County 4-H Dog Committee.
