She was a member of Grand Heights Baptist Church in Fairborn; she loved spending time with her grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother: Jacob Apple.
She is survived by her husband: Richard L. Shurte of Fairborn whom she married March 31, 1962; her daughters & sons in law: Judith & Mike Brown of Versailles, Julia & Sheldon Cook of Greenville; grandchildren: Savanna Hill, Joleen Harsh, Jesse Hammaker, Michael D. Brown; step grandchildren: Amy Brown & Jamie Brown; great grandchildren: Camdon Hammaker, Chloe Hammaker, Scarlett Harsh, Malikye Hill, Sebastyn Hill, Juniper Hill; her sister: Helen Hart of Dayton.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday July 9, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio with Rev. Dr. Thomas Waldo officiating. Burial will be in Greenville Cemetery at a later date. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the services on Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Miami Valley Hospice.
