Charles A. Rauscher, 82, of Gordon, died Sunday evening, December 27, 2009 at Heartland of Greenville. Mr. Rauscher was born in Verona, on January 16, 1927, the son of the late John W. and Stella (Studebaker) Rauscher. He was a member of Gordon United Methodist Church. Charles was employed locally as a carpenter. Mr. Rauscher served in the U.S. Army during WW II. He was a member of the Arcanum Community Rescue Squad and a Grange member. Charles was the former Mayor and a Council member of Gordon. He is survived by his wife Betty (Fourman) Rauscher whom he married June 26, 1954; Daughters Sheila Rauscher of Arcanum and Melissa Dersham and husband Tom of Vandalia; Son Doug Rauscher and wife Jill of Arcanum; Grandchildren Emily and Jessica Rauscher, Ella Grace Dersham and Baby Girl Dersham expected April 2010. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM on Thursday, December 31, 2009 at the Gordon United Methodist Church with Pastor John Gilmore officiating. Burial will follow in Arlington Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends 1 hour before time of service. The Family suggests memorial contributions to the Gordon United Methodist, Church 311 East St, Gordon, Ohio 45304.
