Richard Dean “Dick” Arnold, age 80 of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday January 5, 2010 at 9:00 AM at the Brethren Retirement Community, Greenville, Ohio. He was born September 7, 1929 in Darke County, Ohio the son of the late A.W. & Mary (Byram) Arnold.
He worked for General Motors retiring in 1986. He served in the United States Army. He was a member of Woodington Congregational Christian Church and he attended Trinity Wesleyan Church. He loved doing lawn work.
He is preceded in death by his parents; Sisters: Dortha Baker, & Edith Hamilton; Infant brother: Arthur Dale Arnold.
He is survived by his wife: Phyllis (Dickey) Arnold of Greenville whom he married May 8, 1948; Children & spouses: Linda & Barry Blanton of Greenville, Diana & Ted Ross of Orlando, Florida, Marion & Judy Arnold of Greenville, Gary Arnold of Greenville; Grandchildren & spouses: Barry Blanton II & Fiancée Kimberly Crowe, Tawni & Layne Cress, Mark Ross, Lisa & Logan West, Jennifer & Jay Abercrombie, Kyle & Jenni Ross, James & Leslie Arnold, Derek Arnold & Fiancée Crystal Dugan, & Sunny Arnold; 10 Great grandchildren; 1 Great great grandson; Brother: Lowell Arnold of Greenville.
Services will be held on Friday January 8, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio with Rev. John Seeley officiating. Burial will follow in Greenville Twp. Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 2:00 PM on Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Children’s Medical Center or the Salvation Army.
