Adele J. Marchal age 94, of Versailles, Ohio, passed away at 5:25 P.M. on Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at Versailles Health Care Center. Adele was born May 29, 1915 in Russia, Ohio, to the late Peter Thirion & Augusta (Monnin) Thirion Paulus.
Adele was a homemaker and helped her husband farm. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Frenchtown and the Versailles Senior Citizens.
In addition to her parents, Adele is also preceded in death by her step father, William Paulus; husband, Paul N. Marchal; grandson, Adam Marchal; step brothers, Charles and Bob Paulus; and step sister, Lucille Coffield.
Adele is survived by her sons & daughters-in-law, Don & Janice Marchal of Versailles, Victor & Deborah Marchal of Lake Worth, Florida, Russell Marchal of Versailles and Frank & Colleen Marchal of Greenville; daughter & son-in-law, Marilyn & Kenneth Wilker of Celina; 11 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren; half brother, Edwin Paulus of Oklahoma; and step sister, Theola Raterman of Dayton.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, March 15, 2010 at 10:30 A.M. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Frenchtown, with Rev. Fr. David Vincent celebrant. Burial will follow in Holy Family Church Cemetery in Frenchtown. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2:00 to 5:00 P.M. and Monday morning from 9:00 to 10:00 A.M. at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home in Versailles. Memorial contributions may be made to the Adam Marchal Memorial Scholarship Fund, Versailles Emergency Medical Services or Donor’s Choice.
