Leroy R. Bruns age 73 of Versailles, Ohio, passed away at 9:45 P.M. on Sunday, March 21, 2010 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Dayton. Leroy was born September 4, 1936 in Carthagena, Ohio, to the late Leo & Josephine (Olding) Bruns.
Leroy was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Frenchtown and Western Ohio Coon Hunters Club.
Leroy is survived by his wife, Almareda (Gasson) Bruns, whom he married November 30, 1957; daughter & son-in-law, Rose & Rusty Whittaker of Versailles; sons & daughters-in-law, Douglas & Jacqueline Bruns of Versailles, Dennis & Angie Bruns of Versailles and David & Lois Bruns of Versailles; 13 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; and a sister, Joan Schuette of Celina.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, March 25, 2010 at 10:30 A.M. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Frenchtown, with Rev. Fr. David Vincent celebrant. Burial will follow in Holy Family Cemetery in Frenchtown. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 3:00 to 8:00 P.M. and Thursday morning from 9:00 to 10:00 A.M. at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home in Versailles.
