Evelyn M. Hamilton, 89, of rural Greenville, died late Tuesday evening, June 28, 2011 at Oakley House, Greenville. Mrs. Hamilton was born in Darke County on June 10, 1922, the daughter of the late Alonzo and Elnora (Wetzel) Fourman. She was a Homemaker and a Farmers Wife. Mrs. Hamilton was a life time member of the former Wayne Trail Grange. Evelyn was preceded in death by an infant Sister. Mrs. Hamilton is survived by her husband Keith Hamilton, whom she married October 19, 1946; Niece Denise Hansbarger and husband Alan of Arcanum; Nephew Steven Larsh of Arcanum; Great Nephew Gregory Hansbarger and wife Kathy; and Great Great Nephews John and Mark Hansbarger. Funeral Services will be held Noon on Friday, July 1, 2011 at the Kreitzer Funeral Home, Arcanum with Rev Tom Hite officiating. Burial will follow in Ithaca Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends Friday 1 Hour before the time of services. The Family suggests memorial contributions to Darke County Hospice.

Carroll A. Seman, age 69 of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 3:35 P.M. Tuesday June 28, 2011 in the emergency room of Wayne Health Care Center. Carroll was born December 26, 1941 in Gettysburg, Ohio and the daughter of the late Raymer L. & Viola E. (Miller) Seman.
Carroll is survived by several cousins.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday July 1, 201l in the Zechar Bailey Funeral Home Greenville, Ohio with Rev. Gary Oser officiating. Burial will follow in the Gettysburg Cemetery. Shirley D. Poeppelman (June 27, 2011)
Shirley D. Poeppelman age 85 of Versailles, Ohio, passed away on Monday, June 27, 2011 at the Sterling House in Greenville. Shirley was born July 16, 1925 in Syracuse, New York, to the late Winfield W. & Hazel A. (Goldie) Dodd.
Shirley was retired from Travelers Insurance Company; where she had been an office manager for 40 years. Shirley was a member of St. Denis Catholic Church in Versailles.
In addition to her parents, Shirley is also preceded in death by her husband, Clarence F. Poeppelman on March 17, 2009 whom she married June 18, 1994; son, Gordon A. Root; grandson, Brett Root; and step granddaughters, Sydney Poeppelman and Brittany Kimmel.

Mrs. Eileen (Troxell) Rehmert, age 86 of Blakeslee, Ohio and formerly of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Friday June 24, 2011 at 11:45 PM at Bryan Care & Rehabilitation Center, Bryan, Ohio. She was born November 9, 1924 in Piermont, Ohio the daughter of the late Robert Porterfield & Ruby Irene (Christ) Troxell. She was a homemaker most of her life and worked for ARO in Bryan, Ohio.
She was a member of First Assembly of God Church, Greenville, Ohio. She collected Indian vases, art and crafts.
She is preceded in death by her parents; Husband: Ambert C. Rehmert; Brother: Robert Troxell II.
She is survived by her sons: Terry L. Rehmert of Las Cruces, New Mexico, Barry W. Rehmert of Blakeslee, Ohio; 2 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; sister: Helen Juanita Brock of Brookville, Ohio.

Reverend Thomas Miller Davis (June 24th, 2011)
Reverend Thomas Miller Davis, 83, went to be with our Lord Friday morning June 24th, 2011 at his home.
He was born on February 27th, 1928 in Williamsburg, KY, son of the late Thomas Millard Davis and Effie Marie (Towe) Davis.
Rev. Davis has faithfully served his Lord and his community since April of 1973. Serving as Pastor at Churches of the Nazarene in Saylor Park, OH, Ripley, OH and Greenville, OH where he retired in June of 1997. Following his retirement he began to serve as interim Pastor at various churches where he was needed, most recently serving as Pastor for the past two years in Union City, IN.
Rev. Davis also has 39 years working for various newspapers, including the Cincinnati Enquirer and the Ripley Bee. He also enjoyed working with the youth of Brown County through the 4-H program, where he served for 9 years. Rev. Davis also served his country as a member of the United States Army.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers Carl, Arthur and Clarence (Red) Keith.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Mary Lou (Nace); two sons, Doug (Tami) of Ripley, OH; and Lonnie of Miamiville, OH. Four daughters, Denise Davis of Owensville, OH; Monica (Tom) Rosselot of Owensville, OH; Dana Davis of Seattle, WA; and Cindy (Shane) Palmer of Chilhowie, VA. Grandchildren, Kelly (Darole) Reese, Micah (Jason) Shircliff, Makayla, Faith and Rebecca Palmer, Bailey Joy and Colton Davis. Great-grandchildren, Kaitlin, MaKenzie and Bryce Reese, Adison and Aubrey Shircliff.
Services will be held on Monday, June 27th at 3:00 p.m. at the Greenville Church of the Nazarene, Greenville, OH with Rev. D. Geoffrey Kunselman and Rev. Wayne Thomas officiating. Burial will follow on Tuesday, June 28th at 1:00 p.m. in the Sugar Tree Ridge Cemetery, Hillsboro, OH. The family will receive friends from 1-3 p.m. on Monday at the Greenville Church of the Nazarene. Arrangements are being handled by Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio.

She was born November 26, 1910 in Greenville, Ohio the daughter of the late Solomon David & Roseanna (Kaufman) Hinegardner. She worked at General Athletic & Second National Bank retiring in 1965. She was a member of Greenville Missionary Church and a graduate of Marion College now known as Indiana Wesleyan University.

Lowell R. McClurg (June 23, 2011)
Lowell R. McClurg, 71, of Greenville, Ohio passed away early Thursday afternoon, June 23, 2011 at his residence.
He was born on February 12, 1940, in Greenville, Ohio to the late Ralph and Jean (Hipshire) McClurg. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a stepson John Louk.
Lowell was retired from restaurant service having worked an numerous restaurant including the former Wills Restaurant in Greenville. An avid and loyal fan of the Cincinnati Reds, he was a member of the Jehovah's Witness. He was a 1959 graduate of Greenville High School.
He is survived by his wife, Loretta (Murphy) McClurg, whom he married April 7, 1991; step children, Harley Louk of New Carlisle, Cecil Louk, Christopher Louk, Robert Gray, Sandra Gray, Kathy Gray, and Rhonda Weese all of Greenville; 15 step grandchildren; 6 step great grandchildren; an aunt, Nancy Rush; an uncle, Bud Hipshire; and numerous cousins.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 28 at the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville. Burial will follow in the Greenville Township Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, from 5-8 p.m. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to either the Cancer Association of Darke County or State of the Heart Hospice.

Samuel David Mikesell, age 63 of New Madison, Ohio, passed away on Monday June 20, 2011 at 9:35 AM at his residence. He was born February 20, 1948 in the family home on Harrison Road, New Madison, Ohio the son of the late Lewis Ellsworth “Dynamite” & Irma Irene (Spencer) Mikesell. He worked for Shellar Globe in Union City for 25 years and also for Transilwrap in Richmond, Indiana. He loved to fish, gardening, and hunting and loved nature.

Mabel L. Clark, 90, of Arcanum, died Saturday, June 18, 2011 at Good Samaritan Hospital, Dayton. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church Arcanum and volunteered at Wayne Hospital for many years. Mrs. Clark worked for United Telephone Company, retiring in 1986. Mabel was a 50 year member of the former Arcanum Eastern Star. She was a past member of the American Womens Business Association and a member of the former Civitian Club. Mabel was preceded in death by her husband Lowell S. Clark, who died December 13, 1983, son Ted Clark, Daughters Judith Clark and Nancy Reynolds, 3 Brothers and 7 Sisters. Mr. Kress was born in Montgomery County on May 29, 1943, the son of the late Ira and Pearl (Beaver) Kress. He was an employee of Honeywell (Fram) in Greenville retiring in 1999. Gerald was a Franklin Monroe Graduate. He was a Life Member of the Greenville Eagles #2177, and a member of the Greenville Elks Lodge. Gerald was preceded in death by a Granddaughter Lily Thobe, Sister Virginia Kress, and Brother Larry Kress. Patricia A. Riffle age 81 of Greenville, Ohio, passed away at 6:15 P.M. on Friday, June 17, 2011 at the Brethren Retirement Community in Greenville. Patricia was born November 27, 1929 in Castine, Ohio, to the late Perry & Dana (Seman) Gower.
Patricia retired in 1992 from Fram Corporation of Greenville, where she had been employed for 33 years. Patricia was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Greenville; was very active in the United Methodist Women’s Organizations; assisted with funeral meals for 8 years; and was over the dinning room and election day suppers. Patricia was a founder, along with her husband Dale, of the Ansonia Swinging 8’s Square Dance Club.
In addition to her parents, Patricia is also preceded in death by a daughter, Sondra Riffle; grandson, Ryan Riffle; brother, Dick Gower; sisters, Phyllis Kuhnle and Betty Sleppy; half brothers, Adrian & Harvey Gower; and half sister, Mary Phelps.

Richard A. Monk, 51, of Ansonia, passed away Monday evening, June 13, 2011 in the emergency room of Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton from injuries sustained in accident on US Route 127 near Greenville.
He was born September 5, 1959 son of the late Barbara Monk. In addition to his mother he was preceded in death by a sister, Sherry Ralston.
Richard had worked at the Walmart Supercenter in Greenville for the last 8 years.
He is survived by two brothers, Greg Armstrong and Danny Ralston; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 21, at the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville.

Deveda L. “Lucy” Willingham, 87, of Greenville and formerly of Hollansburg, passed away on June 14, 2011 at the Brethrens Retirement Community in Greenville. Lucy was born in Leesburg, Missouri on September 9, 1923 to the late Forest D. and Eura Golden(Cates) Lincoln.
Lucy retired from Corning after 30 years of service, where she was also a former secretary of their labor union. She was a member of the Hollansburg Christian Church and a former board member. Lucy enjoyed bowling, traveling and most of all spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, Lucy is preceded in death by two sisters, a brother and a son, Gary Willingham.
Lucy is survived by her husband of 66 years, George L. Willingham; a son, Lloyd Willingham of Glen Karn; two daughters, Deveda “Sue” and Steve Richards of Hollansburg and Wanda and Kenny Brown of Glen Karn; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a brother, Kenneth Lincoln of Springfield, Missouri.

Scott was a team leader at Honda of Anna where he was employed for over 14 years. Scott also pulled trailers for Mark’s Concessions. Scott was a member of Christian Life Center in Dayton.
In addition to his father, Scott is also preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, John & Betty Lewis; and paternal grandparents, Harry & Abbie Albright.

William R. "Bill" Heft, age 85, of Versailles, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at 8:19 AM at Upper Valley Medical Center, Troy, Ohio. He was born on August 5, 1925 in Versailles, Ohio, to the late Valentine A. & Catherine (Forry) Heft.
Bill was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Versailles where he served on the Church Council, Past Master of the Versailles Masonic Lodge #290, Free and Accepted Masons and a 32nd Degree Mason, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Dayton; and Versailles Lions Club. Bill really enjoyed doing outdoor work, hunting, fishing, and helping others any way he could. He was a 1944 graduate of Versailles High School.
Following high school he worked for General Motors for 3 years, followed by construction work for 3 years. He was then employed by Ernest Gravel, Co. in Piqua and Houston, Ohio, where he was a crane operator and part owner and was vice president when he left the company in 1973. After that he worked as the Maintenance Foreman for the City of Piqua retiring in 1987.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his brothers, Ferd Heft and John Heft; sisters, Mary Sherry and Jane Blake Marchal; daughter in law, Carol Heft.
He is survived by his wife Esther (Kruckeberg) Heft of Versailles, Ohio, whom he married on August 6, 1950; sons and daughter in law Bruce Heft of Ansonia, Ohio, and Mark & Mary Heft of Versailles, Ohio; daughter and son in law, Kathie & Rex Abke of Troy, Ohio; 9 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren; brother, Richard Heft of Greenville, Ohio; as well as numerous brothers in law, sisters in law, nieces and nephews.

Ben Winger, 23, of Union City, Ohio, passed away at 1:50 p.m. Monday afternoon, June 6, 2011 in the emergency room of Wayne Healthcare in Greenville.
He was born April 19, 1988 in Winchester, Indiana, son of Diane Idle of Union City, Ohio and Douglas Winger of Rossburg, Ohio.
Ben was a 2005 graduate of Versailles High School. He loved all sports including video games, the Indianapolis Colts, and NASCAR driver Kasey Kahne.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Wanda Lee Idle; brother, Robin Idle; uncles, William Idle and Robert Idle; great grandmother, Bea Winger; and a cousin , Josh Rammel.

Thelma G. Seibel (June 7, 2011)
Thelma G. Seibel, 97, of Greenville, died in the afternoon hours of Tuesday June 7, 2011 at the Brethren Retirement Community in Greenville, Ohio.
Her husband, Lowell D. Seibel passed away August 29, 1997. Thelma was born January 25, 1914 to William Henry Stanley and Viola Olga (Michael) Gibson. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her six sisters and two brothers as follows: Helen Hamilton, Gertrude Stade, Margaret Meyer, Opal Hartle, Laura Garbig, Cathryn Bitner, Ernest Gibson, and Robert Gibson. Her son-in-law, Ted Armstrong, passed away December 17, 2007.
She is survived by her daughters, Karen Armstrong and Karel Dixon with fiance', David Grinnell. Also surviving is granddaughter, Kimberly Rudnick with husband Scott, and daughter's Nicole, Samantha and Alysia; grandson, Michael Casey with wife Diana; grandson, Jeff Henderson with wife Sue, son Adam and daughter Jessica; granddaughter Michelle D'Antuono with husband Frank and son Joshua; granddaughter, Suzanne Ciotti with daughter Jordan and son Dylan. She is also survived by her brother-in-law Cal Bitner, and many caring nephews and nieces with their families.

Connie J. Fourman of Greenville, 58, passed away on June 6, 2011 at her residence in Greenville. Connie was born in Nelsonville, Ohio on January 31, 1953 to the late Paul Williams and Betty and Larry Koffer.
Connie enjoyed playing bingo and cards. She loved reading Steven King novels, the Dallas Cowboys and enjoyed all kinds of music and dancing. Connie loved things with frogs on them and collected frog memorabilia. Most of all, Connie enjoyed spending time with her family and she especially enjoyed making her grandchildren feel special. She also had a very loyal companion in her dog, Romeo.
In addition to her father, Connie is preceded in death by a brother, Mike Williams.
Connie is survived by her loving husband, Keith Fourman; two sons, Eric Engle and Doug Williams both of Greenville; a daughter, Janie and Kirk Detling of Pitsburg; 5 grandchildren, Caitlyn Bowers, Taylor Bowers, Matthew Jones, Skye Williams and Gavin Williams; two brothers, Dan and Jama Williams, Dave Williams and fiancé, April Chilcoat; a sister, Lisa Klosterman and special friend, Jamie Harlow; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ray N. Gibson, 86, of Greenville, passed away early Thursday morning, June 2, 2011 at Brethren Retirement Community in Greenville.
He was born June 21, 1924 in Brown Township, Darke County, Ohio, son of the late Alpha A. and Susie F. (Shiverdecker) Gibson. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his 1st wife, Helen E. (Bankson) Gibson; brothers, Doyle Gibson, Dean Gibson; and sisters, Dorothy Dill Crawford, Bernice Crawford.
Ray had retired from Hobart Corporation after 37 1/2 years. He was a member of Coletown Congregational Christian Church and Hobart Quarter Century Club and had served in the US Army in World War II.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Evelyn L. (Oliver) Gibson whom he married June 11, 1966; a son, Dennis L. Gibson of Cincinnati, OH; a daughter, Cinda F. Pearson of Union City, IN; 10 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services with full Military Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 4 at Oliver- Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville with the Rev. Eric Knight officiating. Burial will follow in the Old Teegarden Cemetery near Ansonia.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 7, at the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville with Rev. Elwood Stuart officiating. Burial with full military honors by the Greenville Veterans Honor Guard will follow in the Greenmound Cemetery in New Madison.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 5-7 p.m.

He was born in Hamilton, OH, son of Mary Alice (Tompkins) Back of New Madison and the late James E. Back.
Larry was retired from Dana Corporation Perfect Circle in Richmond, IN. He was a veteran of the US Marine Corps having served during Vietnam.

Andrew A. Bryant (June 1, 2011)
Andrew A. Bryant age 88 of Greenville, Ohio, passed away at 5:36 A.M. on Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at Wayne Health Care in Greenville. Andrew was born November 3, 1922 in Williamsburg, Kentucky, to the late John & Alice (Martin) Bryant.
Andrew retired from Darke County Ditch Maintenance Department. He also formerly farmed and worked at Champion Paper Company in Piqua. Andrew was an Ordained Deacon in the Philadelphia Baptist Church in Brodhead, Kentucky.
In addition to his parents, Andrew is also preceded in death by his wife, Rosie B. (Benge) Bryant on September 13, 1998 whom he married October 24, 1942; son, James Russell “Russ” Bryant; son-in-law, David Stinnett; grandsons, Tony Bryant, Wayne Jr. Reel and Dakota Drew Jay; and 11 brothers and sisters.
Andrew is survived by his sons & daughters-in-law, Chester & Patty Bryant of Gettysburg, Dillard & Judy Bryant of New Castle, Indiana, Dewey & Michelle Bryant of New Castle, Indiana, Glen & Jeanette Bryant of Greenville and Wendell Bryant of Piqua; daughters & sons-in-law, Violet “Vi” & Wayne Graham of New Castle, Indiana, Vurna Stinnett of Harrodsburg, Kentucky, Beulah & Don Ditton of Warsaw, Indiana, Glenda & Albert Case of Greenville and Christine Sumwalt of Winchester, Indiana; 27 grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren and 13 great great grandchildren; special friend, Evelyn Mann of Greenville; brother, James Bryant of Sidney; and sister, Lola Abner of Crab Orchard, Kentucky.

Thelma V. Henry age 82 of Greenville, Ohio, passed away at 12:46 P.M. on Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at Emerald Crossings Assisted Living in Dublin, Ohio. Thelma was born July 31, 1928 in Bradford, Ohio, to the late Lawrence E. & Mary Hazel (Routzong) Miller.
Thelma retired from Greenville City Schools in 1991 where she was a cook for 28 years. Thelma was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Greenville. She was also a member of the Greenville American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and White Springs Ladies Golf League.
In addition to her parents, Thelma is also preceded in death by her husband, John N. Henry on March 6, 2011 whom she married on September 2, 1950; brother, Ivan Miller; and sisters, Ruby Miller, Frances Herrman, Maxine Snyder and Louise Miller.
