Alice Faye Allison, age 79, of Versailles, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, May 27, 2012 at 1:30 PM at Rest Haven Nursing Home, Greenville, Ohio. She was born on June 26, 1932 in Lyons, Kansas, to the late Earl Weston & Edna May (Updegrove) Seybert.
Alice is survived by her husband, Vernon C. Allison whom she married on July 21, 1950 in Denver, Colorado; children and spouses, Chris (Debi) Allison, Sandy (Paul) Carey, Mary “Myrrh” (Jef) Jennings, and Bob (Susan) Allison; grandchildren, David (Elizabeth) Carey, Timothy (Anna) Carey, Michael (Holle) Carey, Natalie Carey, Daniel Carey, John Carey, Jacob (Allegra) Carey, Andrew Jennings, Benjamin Jennings, Brian Allison, Scott Allison, and Andrew Allison; great grandchildren, Alanna Carey, Maddox Carey, Liam Carey, Aidan Carey, Jonathan Carey, Felix Carey, and Xavier Carey; sister, Helen Gregory of Geneseo, Kansas; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her siblings, Anna (Bill) Layman, twins, Leonard & Lester Seybert, Evelyn (Leroy) Loughridge, Lois (John) Hawkins, Sheldon Gregory, Ada (John) Maxwell, Margaret (Donald) Smith, Earl “Wes” (Lou) Seybert, Velma Jean (John) Smith, & Wayne (Bertryl) Seybert.
Alice was a homemaker. She also worked many different jobs throughout her life and volunteered for numerous organizations. She was a member of Ansonia First Church of God. She served as a volunteer for many groups including assistant secretary for the 339th Fighter Squadron Association (USAF), numerous Bible studies, Women’s Aglow, and DeColores. She loved reading, and sewing, and was a great mom, grandma, and great grandma.
Service will be held on Friday, June 1, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Ansonia First Church of God, 750 South Main Street, Ansonia, Ohio, with Pastor Tim Schrock officiating. Burial will follow in the Brock Cemetery, Brock, Ohio. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at church. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey Zechar Funeral Home, Versailles, Ohio.
