Carl F. Schutz age 86, of Yorkshire, Ohio, passed away at 6:08 P.M. on Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in St. Marys, Ohio. Carl was born April 19, 1926 in Yorkshire, Ohio, to the late William & Lydia (Froebe) Schutz.
Carl is survived by his wife of 65 years, Caroline W. (Stephan) Schutz whom he married June 1, 1947; sons & daughters-in-law, David P. & Karen Schutz of Versailles, Ohio, Mark E. & Linda Schutz of Yorkshire, Ohio, and Jonathan L. Schutz of Yorkshire, Ohio; daughter, Ruth A. Schutz of Cincinnati, Ohio; grandchildren, Wes Schutz, Ashley Schutz, Ryan Schutz, Jason & Janice Schutz and Nathan Schutz; great-grandchildren, Austin Schutz, Ethin Schutz and Morgan Schutz; and a sister, Martha Rismiller of Rossburg, Ohio.
In addition to his parents, Carl is also preceded in death by a grandson, Kevin Schutz; and a sister, Esther Billenstein.
Carl served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He was a farmer. Carl was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Willowdell and the Osgood American Legion Post #588.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, November 12, 2012 at St. Paul Lutheran Church 9464 Foote Rd. (Willowdell) Yorkshire, Ohio, with Pastor Laura Shreffler officiating. Burial will follow in St. Paul Lutheran Church Cemetery in Willowdell with Military Graveside Services conducted by the Osgood American Legion. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2:00 to 6:00 P.M. at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home in Versailles and Monday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 A.M. at the church.
