John R. “Jack” Ryan age 84, of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 8:30 A.M. on Sunday, June 2, 2013 at Rest Haven Nursing Home in Greenville. John was born April 28, 1929 in Union City, Indiana to the late John & Ethel (Lawlor) Ryan.
John is survived by his wife, Darlene (Gribler) Ryan whom he married April 4, 1985; son, Patrick Ryan of Florida; daughter, Kimberlee Autry of Florida; step children, Rodney & Cheryl Jay of Greenville, Victoria & Robert Warner of Greenville, Lynda & Sam Ogle of Kokomo, Indiana, Tamy & Ray Forbey of Troy and Ted Jay of Greenville; 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; brother, Robert Ryan of Texas; sister, Mary Jean Sharp of Indianapolis, Indiana; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, John is also preceded in death by a son, Sean Ryan; brother, Jerald Ryan; and a sister, Helen Curtner.
John is retired from auto sales. John served in the U.S. Marine Corps. during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Greenville American Legion and the V.F.W. in Union City, Indiana.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, June 7, 2013 at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville with Rev. Fr. John White officiating. Burial will follow in Greenville Cemetery with Military graveside services conducted by the Greenville Veteran’s Honor Guard. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Greenville Veteran’s Honor Guard.
