Barbara J. Brown, 84, of New Paris, passed away peacefully on August 23, 2013 at Rosebud Village in Richmond, Indiana. Barbara was born in Racine, Wisconsin on June 23, 1929 to the late Norman and Della (Nichols) Brown.
Barbara was a 1947 graduate of Richmond High School and a 1951 graduate of Earlham College. She studied in institutes in Europe and Latin America, as well as Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. Barbara worked in Washington, D.C and in other countries worldwide, including Vietnam, and later retired from the US Government. She was a member of the Central United Methodist Church in Richmond, Indiana.
In addition to her parents, Barbara is preceded in death by her brother, Donald A. Brown.
Barbara is survived by a brother, Edward G. Brown; one niece; six nephews; sixteen great-nieces and nephews; five great, great-nieces and nephews.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in the Springlawn Cemetery in New Paris, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
