Harold E. Stauffer age 93 of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at Hospice of Dayton. Harold was born October 26, 1922 in Butler Township in Darke County to the late David A. & Garnett E. (Hoff) Stauffer.
Harold is survived by his daughters & son-in-law, Beverly Pressnall of Centerville and Gayle & James Harnisfager of Hilliard; son & daughter-in-law, Timothy & Bobbi Stauffer of Sidney; grandchildren, Todd & Tammy Pressnall and Justin & Stephanie Harnisfager; great-grandchildren, Zoe & McKenzie Pressnall; brother, Robert Stauffer of Greenville; sisters, Sarah Alice Lesperance of Scottsdale, Arizona and Carol Massey of Scottsdale, Arizona; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Harold was also preceded in death by his 1st wife, Mildred (Waltz) Stauffer; 2nd wife, Bettie J. (Harless) Moores-Stauffer; and sister, Lois Stauffer.
Harold served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was awarded the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. Harold was a salesman at Frank Girbert Inc. in Greenville for 37 years until his retirement in 1985. He was a member of the EUM Church in Greenville, V.F.W. Post 7262 where he was a Past-Commander; D.A.V Post 57 of Greenville and Greenville Chapter National Association Amalgamated Liars.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Friday, June 24, 2016 at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville with Pastor Don Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery in Piqua. The family will receive friends on Friday from 10:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. Military Honors will be conducted by the Greenville Veteran’s Honor Guard. Memorial contributions may be made to Greenville Veteran’s Honor Guard or Greenville Rescue Squad.
