Leon Barnhill (January 14, 2017)

Leon Barnhill, 83 of Arcanum, Ohio passed away on Saturday January 14, 2017 at 7:34 PM at Brookdale of Greenville. He was born January 7, 1934 in Loris, North Carolina the son of the late James O. & Rhoda M. (Sole) Barnhill. He retired from the United States Air Force after 20 years of service then worked for Corning Glass, Price Brothers, & was the owner of the Corner Restaurant in Arcanum for 20 years

He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife: Sonja Fay (Roberts) Barnhill whom he married March 19, 1955; his brother: James Barnhill; his sisters: Eula McGranahan, Shelly Wool, Isla McGuire, Nila Pagen, Alice Todd, & Inez Jenkins

He is survived by his daughters: Rhonda Marshal of Arcanum, & Sharon Madascy of Arcanum; grandchildren: Misty Dickens, Kristen Marshal, & Steven Madascy; great grandchildren: Matthew Marshal, Scott Marshal, Chase Dickens, & Lily Dickens; sister: Bonnie Gravely of Florida; numerous nieces & nephews.

Services will be held on Saturday January 21, 2017 at 10:30 AM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio with Pastor Dan Kuhbander officiating. Burial will follow in Mote Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday January 20, 2017 at the funeral home. Veteran’s services will be conducted on Saturday at the funeral home by the Greenville Veterans Honor Guard.
